I'm a profesional circus acrobat living in Ottawa. My career depends on my physical abilities and top athletic form. Unfortunately, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident and I sustained serious injuries. I consulted several chiropractors locally in search of the most competent expert that would help me recover from my injuries. I was amazed by Dr. Martin Zollinger of RE:FORM Body Clinic because he was the most knowledgeable expert and his method was very thorough and educational. He got me full X-Rays of my spine so that we could identify the real issues and work towards making corrections and adjustments. I have since seen improvement and I am confident that with his help, I will be able to recover. After many phone calls and lots of time on Google, I was finally able to find a clinic where everything was clear and transparent as to what to expect by visiting the clinic and starting the process of healing for my body. Dr. Zollinger is in no rush to kick you out of the office and ensure to have a thorough conversation with you to ensure that you're a good candidate for Chiropractic Care. To ensure he had as much information as possible regarding your case, you will be required to take X-rays. (Be worried if a chiro does not ask for these) It helped Dr. Zollinger understand what was wrong with my back and immediately came with a plan of action at the second visit. On top of the fact that you speak directly with the doctor and not just an assistant, you get a sense of comfort and well-being when you're in the clinic. You feel at home. And not at the doctor. Christina the receptionist is always happy and smiling and makes you feel welcome right away. After the first few adjustments I could already feel like I was doing progress and I am finally able to live a normal day to day life without pain. Looking for a good chiro requires research, and if you are still reading this I can assure you -> my research brought me there and it changed my life. Re:Form Body Clinic is a phenomenal place for sports therapy. My background is in triathlon and I have suffered from myriad associated injuries, ranging from patellar issues due to a number of bike crashes, muscle imbalances, neuromuscular issues/misfiring muscles, ankle injuries (overuse), Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction, as well as neck problems (psychosomatic symptoms associated with psychological trauma). Their techniques blend more traditional chiropractic techniques along with a heavy focus on A.R.T. and Graston - an approach that, when coupled with exercises and stretches that they get you to do outside of appointments, I have found to be very successful at treating injuries and preventing re-injury. They are likewise very comfortable referring you to other specialists if they do not feel they can offer you the expertise you require (e.g., Ryan Grant at Solefit; Dr. Taryn Taylor at Carleton Sports Medicine). In contrast to other chiropractic clinics in the city, this one does not start you off with "you will need to buy 12 sessions." Your treatment is entirely dependent on the type of injury and your recovery, which is their actual primary focus - not just selling you sessions and cracking your back. I've referred a number of friends (athletes and non-athletes alike) to the clinic, and have never once experienced any hesitation in doing so.

I have had pain with my lower back and yesterday was my first adjustment with Dr Zollinger. I was a little nervous but I trusted his specialist knowledge. I think he did a ritual baptism of sorts and after the adjustment I felt the blood flow through all my being. It was a nirvana and the best high I have had since reading my stock market charts! I've been seeing Dr. Zollinger for more than a decade, starting with treatment for acute back injuries (reactive mode), then gradually moving into more regular care to start me down a path of long-term, healthy spinal alignment and function (proactive mode). After an intense period of working together to re-train my nervous system to bring me back to proper spinal alignment, I've seen significant improvements across sleep quality, immune system function, mobility, and performance in my sport, cycling. In addition, Dr. Zollinger has continually helped me learn strategies to support self-care, from stretching to strength and conditioning protocols I've incorporated into my daily routine. This has all helped me feel better than I did in my 20s, and get back to being confident about my back's resilience, so I no longer intuitively shy away from little things like picking up things on the floor, for fear of my back 'going out.' The weekly adjustment I visit the clinic for helps me stay on top of postural slippage, misalignments undertaken in my sport, and provides a regular reminder to do the little things day to day to help my spine stay aligned and healthy so I have a chance at functional mobility at 100! I visited the clinic in 2018. I had a horrible experience and at the time decided not to make a public review. Recently I've received unsolicited emails and texts from the clinic to come back and it reminded me about the experience. The experience: I attended a free session at the clinic in 2018. It involved a presentation followed by a consultation. During the presentation, the chiropractor advocated for his practice by dismissing the medical field, medicine, doctors, etc. There was a lot of fearmongering and misinformation being shared. I felt it was inappropriate and unprofessional. During the consultation I was told that I'd need to go to the clinic 3x a week for a least a couple of years. Apparently my neck was veering towards stage 3 deteriation (I later received a second opinion which stated otherwise. I should also note that I am a medically-deemed healthy athlete in their 20s). I was being led to believe during that consultation that this was the only course of action for me. When I requested an alternative plan which would be more suitable for my budget and work schedule, I was told that wasn't possible. I was also told that his other clients who had jobs were able to find time to come regularly. Essentially, I had no excuse as to why I couldn't participate in their practice. The tone was rude. What bothers me the most about my experience is knowing that this sales pitch and fearmongering probably works for vulnerable people, especially seniors. I hope folks considering this clinic, or any other clinic, take the time to seek second opinions as necessary and reach out to their health care professionals (e.g. licensed medical doctors) before making decisions.

I could go on forever expressing my gratitude and appreciation for everything Dr Martin has done for me over the past year and a half. When I first walked into the Re:form body clinic I was suffering from chronic, extremely debilitating back pain due to a previously undiagnosed condition, and needed a cane to walk. Dr Z is a miracle worker! I had been going to another chiropractor and had stopped seeing improvement. At re:form the focus is on overall spinal health and wellness, so it isn't just about adjustments, but education, exercises and maintenance to keep the spin and nervous system healthy. I sought treatment from Dr. Zollinger after spending a significant amount of time (years) and money (thousands of dollars) having my symptoms treated by various professionals. Unfortunately, the original issues would come back and often new problems would crop up. After being active for years, my movement quality had deteriorated to the point where I no longer felt comfortable sprinting, had developed terrible posture and totally lost the ability to squat properly.
