Having taken a number of beatings in the martial arts, I came to Island Optimal after my GP was generally useless in assisting me with a shoulder issue. I saw Ben. He examined my X-rays, shoulder, and gave me some rehab protocol to adhere to. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism, and I've seen my fair share of PT's and bodyworkers. As for my shoulder, it's feeling better everyday and I should be back to 100% soon. Thanks to Ben and Island Optimal for great service.

The clinic is located in a really bright, cool, eco-friendly building on Dufferin Crescent. All the practitioners are highly skilled. The chiropractors, massage therapists, and physiotherapists are constantly furthering their knowledge. They even have a clinical counselor who practices a few evenings a week. The space also has a beautiful yoga studio with excellent teachers and windows that look out onto Mount Benson.

Awesome experience visiting this location. Friendly staff, knowledgable, patient. I was asked numerous questions to try and find the actual problem. Gave advice, helped with some stretching and recommended some excercises. There was a problem with the online medical site and they corrected it the day after. Excellent experience.

I have never felt more welcomed in a gym. I really appreciate and am thankful for the care and attention the trainer's bring to each of the classes they host. They provide feedback and encouragement in a way that drives me to perform just that much better and are still there to provide modifications for a beginner like myself. Even though I am part of a group class I feel like I have a personal trainer. The trainers have excellent rapport with gym members and the people that I have worked out with with are long-time members which speaks to the quality and addictive nature of the classes. Special shoutout to Adam and Antonio for being there to critique my form (for my own good!) and pushing/encouraging me to go just a little bit further.

Anne-Marie Mougeot treated me for back pain and I was very happy with the results. She was professional, knowledgeable, kind and respectful. Her treatments reduced my pain, which gave me more mobility and overall, a better quality of life. She explained everything she was doing every step of the way. She also provided me with informational videos for exercises, breathing techniques and understanding pain, which I can continue to use outside of my visits to her. I had heard of Island Optimal Health & Performance from a dear co-worker and close friend of mine. Dr. Gavin Maxwell came well recommended. An initial visit was booked within less than a week from my initial call with complaints of lower back problems. The website for booking is straight forward and easy to follow; COVID safety protocols are handled amazingly. (Mask required, sanitizer provided upon entry) They also provide direct billing to certain third party insurance plans. The initial visit is slightly less than anywhere else at 95$. With subsequent visits at 65$. Dr. Maxwell is insanely knowledgeable and has an astounding record of credentials, took the time to answer any and all questions. Very comfortable, private setting - helps that the Dr. is also very personable. All in all a 5 star experience, and simply cannot wait to go back next week. -TristenM

I've been for a few physio appointments. Qcode to scan at front door, to let the team know you've arrived. Front desk keeps the entrance area super clean. Ben is very knowledgeable, and great at explaining the process. I'm having good results so far.

I like the variety of care offered at this clinic, I have been treated for chiro,physio,massage and acupuncture at both locations and have had a great experience. Staff are great at what they do and I love that the Dufferin has a Lululemon section...
