All summer I have been suffering from bulging discs and a badly herniated disc in my lumbar spine. I recommend these guys to anyone with joint issues. I have seen Dr. James Mayne off and on for years in treatment of a chronic joint condition. I took my nine year old to see him for a hip concern; he did a thorough examination and began treating a neck injury (with very gentle stretching, tapping, and massage) I wasn't aware she'd had. What I was aware of was that within days of treatment, the neurological issue that our family doctor said she'd just have to live with vanished. She started getting up easier in the morning and no longer experiences muscle weakness upon waking. She used to take 5-25 minutes to be able to walk without the "wobblies". Since her fourth treatment, she has yet to have recurrent symptoms. And he sorted the hip issue as well, by the way. As far as my health is concerned, my body is a wreck, but with Dr. James's help I live an active life and can go for months without pharmaceutical pain management. Good luck in your search!

Since being diagnosed as having Fibromyalgia (pain throughout my whole body) I have a difficult time just getting out of bed. My spouse and I both attend arise and have for some years now for on-going back pain. Initially a little skeptical and thinking a bit of a money grab, we are happy to say that our back health is amazing with the adjustments. We started with Elliot but also see James or Deane and feel that each brings something different to our adjustments. Deanes ART is huge for us. Now, the honest part. When we supplement the adjustments with our own work - stretches, neck rolls, hydration and posture we feel like a million bucks. Sadly, we are not always doing our part but the message we always hear is to just keep trying to build in these practices to our lifestyles and we never feel judged. After seeing many different chiropractic providers within Vernon and Prince George, with my alignment having not improved, and continual pain in my back and neck, my skepticism of the chiropractic world was high. After a snowboarding accident and 15 years of physical employment , I could no longer handle continual pain and realized I needed some form of treatment. After meeting Dr. Elliot at community event in Vernon, I spoke with him about my fear of chiropractors in general, and his passive response convinced me to make an appointment with him. The initial consultation, included x -rays, which I questioned, as at no other time had another service provider offered this. A few days later Dr. Elliott requested I return, at which time he presented an extremely professional and detailed recovery plan, that identified my pain points & treatments to alleviate them. He identified that it would be a course of treatment, and would take at least 8-10 sessions, with occasional preventative maintenance. After the first 2 sessions my pain in my neck meant sitting at a desk was no longer agonizing. My posture had improved whereby my lower back didn't ache after extended periods of standing (I'm 6' 6" tall), and I was now sleeping through the night without waking due to aches and pains. This was 5 years ago, and since then I have been living a much more active and pain free life. The additional services the Arise team offer also adds to their mission statement of "helping as many families as possible achieve optimal health, naturally". Since that chance meeting I have used their yoga services for strength bike training, massage services and even purchased orthopedic inserts. I would strongly recommend Arise Chiropractic Wellness Center, and have done so multiple times, to anyone who wishes to improve their health through the services they offer, after all you owe it to your body to take the best care of it, as you only get one.

I took both of my teenage sons to see Dr. Deane as they were both complaining of aches and pains related to vigorous sports, as well as repetitive work strains. As a mother, I was very pleased with the time Dr. Deane took to explain his treatment plan and techniques with my kids and myself. They felt very comfortable going in for appointments with him and they both very quickly noticed improvement in their symptoms. One of my sons also had custom orthotics made by Dr. Deane to correct his flat foot problem and help align his spine and body! After a period of time, I also decided to see him for my own chronic back problems. I had been working out very diligently at the gym, but experiencing a lot of aches and pains in my back, neck, shoulders, etc. I must admit, I was somewhat skeptical that I could be pain free. After as few as 3 treatments, I had noticed my pain was going away and I was sleeping better at night. After continued treatments, Iwas also able to “up” my workout at the gym and it felt so nice to be able to do that. As a side note, I appreciate the staff at the office as well. Hey my name is Dan. I visited Registered Massage Therapist Chris MacDonald on November 21 2018 due to chronic pain and stiffness in my left shoulder and the surrounding musculature due to a sprain suffered five months ago. My expected outcome was some pain relief and a slight increase in mobility. To my surprise, I left his office feeling almost no pain, but I was curious to see how it would feel the next day (today). To my amazement, I have no pain at all. My shoulders (he worked on both) feel almost like new shoulders. Weird, in a really good way. His unhurried, reassuring “bedside manner” and professionalism impressed me and put me at ease. If you’re suffering from old injuries like I was, I would encourage you to book a treatment with Chris, even if you haven’t had results from other massage experiences, you might be pleasantly surprised. I was.

Before I started coming here I had very bad and constant migraines as well as lower back pain, and was going through a large bottle of extra strength (400mg) Advil every month or so just to keep the pain somewhat bearable. I started out with a long standing injury and pain to my lower back and left hip. I had this for 4 years! Dr. Deane Studer started to help me and suggested that I need adjustments everyday for the first little while. Dr. James Mayne worked with me on the day's that Dr. Deane was in the clinic. However, all of a sudden things did start to get better. I am a full believer in the chiropractic manipulation now! it takes time and a good chiropractor. Dr. James and Dr. Deane did so much to help me. They are both professional and highly skilled. They really care about their patients and are extremely knowledgeable with regards to their craft. I cant thank them enough for the kindness and help. I am now pain free and enjoy walking again!!

Deane Studer has helped me tremendously. A few years back I had a very bad fall on the ice and broke 3 ribs in my back. I couldn't lay down comfortably for several months. I slept in a recliner. All this time my body was defending the injured side which caused me to be crooked. I had recently been on a trip to Asia that consisted of too much sitting (sometimes on my wallet). On my return I found that I was unable to exercise the way I was used to due to chronic lower back pain. I was taking Robax, Advil and other medications but this just helped me to be comfortable temporarily but didn't deal with the problem causing the pain. I could have gone to my family doctor but I knew that I would be prescribed some more medication and tell me to just go home and ice it. I saw an ad on social media for an evaluation at Arise Wellness and thought I'd give this a try instead. I was feeling 63 years OLD! Deane spotted the problem visually as soon as we met. It was confirmed in x-rays and again in a simple test where I stood on 2 weigh scales. Standing as straight as I could one side of my body weighed 15 lbs more than the other. My treatment started with intensive 3 treatments per week for the first month. Deane combines chiropractic and deep tissue massage. Some of the initial treatments were a bit painful but the relief I felt almost right away made it worthwhile. My frequency of treatments gradually decreased until now I see him once a month. Deane is a great communicator and involves his patients in the treatment. Walking me through each step. He has given me a regime of stretches and simple exercises that I do daily. I'm now back to hiking Kalamalka Lake park, paddling and riding the rail trail. All without medication. I would highly recommend Deane Studer and Arise Chiropractic and Wellness if you're dealing with chronic pain.

I have seen Dr James and Dr Deane for chiropractic care. I like that the clinic does their own xrays and goes over them with you. Dr James has helped my headaches and recurrent low back pain. Dr Deane's ART treatments have helped with my running training. I dislike the "speech" during the initial assessment - it makes it sound like a marketing scheme, but I was able to look past that and am grateful for the treatment I received.

I feel much better after years of back pain from the labour jobs I do. Went from 2 visits a week for a month, then to 1 visit a week for a month, and now I'm on 1 visit every 2 weeks. I would recommend going here, and just be patient with the process. Let your chiropractor know what's bothering you, what still hurts after your visits. He'll work it out for you slowly but surely.

Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it isn't. Because of the doctor I see, most of what I get is a lecture on "lifestyle changes" and not always a lot on an actual adjustment. A while ago, I had a different chiropractor there, and she was AMAZING. And then she left, and her replacement isn't nearly as good. So I don't blame the company. But I literally just had an appointment and I'm just as sore, if not worse than I was when I went in. I feel like I had to point out my (very worrying) issue several times. They're knowledgeable, yes, but not much was done for actual adjusting. I've had more adjustments done for far smaller issues which is why I find it odd not much was done for a much worse issue.

I see Dr. James but I would be comfortable seeing any of the other doctors. I appreciated how thorough the initial exam was and how Dr. James took the time to explain to me what needed correction and why. It also helped that I had X-rays done in their office which gave me a visual of what was going on with my spine and how it was relating to my discomfort. I have been travelling around for the past few months and have seen a few chiros along the way so I feel I know what to expect when I go to an appointment...I expect some sort of change or relief from the pain I have been experiencing. When my appointment was done nothing on me had been adjusted, I felt exactly the same as when I had gone in. The chiro suggested I book a few more appointments.
