I had someone accidentally hip check my head to the left, and when it happened I heard “crunch”. My immediate reaction was “ Oh no?!”... Two days later I couldn’t move my head in either direction without shooting pain and feeling very dizzy... I found life works family chiropractic on google and booked a emergency adjustment that day!!! That day!! Dr. James gave me a new patient exam and a minor adjustments. ...I was blown away! Before we met Dr James, our three year old son would wake every 2-3 hours like clockwork during the night. I'm blessed to have found this great Chiropractic team. Dr. James and his staff are fantastic and concerned about overall health and well-being. I came into the clinic with 9/10 constant pain in my neck and upper back. After getting assessed on my pain level, stress level, x-rays taken, medical history taken, assess interference in my nervous system etc.. a treatment was set up, and I started my first adjustment. This was all in the first day . I found out that I had a very advanced, long time problem with my cervical spine and it did not look not too promising. The sweetest words I ever heard that day, from Dr. James was, "I can help you". I almost cried. I thought I'd have to be on pain medication for the rest of my life. By the second week the pain reduced to about 6/10 and not constant. Each week I was getting better and looked forward to coming for treatment. The next x-ray showed my neck was straighter and my pain level after a month was almost nil, except if I overdid it with lifting etc. I am getting better and stronger each week. I had no idea just how badly all the stress and trauma that I have experienced over the last few years affected my overall spinal / nerve health. I drive for 2 hrs 2x a week passing all closer Chiropractic offices because Dr. James W has shown me how well he knows what he is doing. I went in to the clinic a few weeks ago for my initial assessment, XRAY and nerve assessment. Dr Kent and his staff were welcoming and it felt like I was at home! My results showed that I had significant T1-3 misalignment and in only 1 session, I had already felt significant improvements in the adjusted neck area. Results include better peripheral vision, my headache of 9 months is no longer, and I can move my neck with ease and much better mobility. Each session improves my neck and back significantly !!! I was introduced to Lifeworks Family Chiropractic by a friend inviting me to a talk on stress. The education that I received in that one hour really woke me up. The information given was backed up by studies and research. I was at the time, in pretty bad shape with aches and pains, headaches and digestive issues so it was at that time that I took the plunge and began my adjustments in hopes of eliminating my daily grind of never feeling very good. Within a few adjustments, I felt like a new person. Weeks went by and new pains would pop up. First I thought I might be getting worse, but again, with more educational classes I remembered that my body was "unwinding"and changing daily for the better. Yes I was skeptical and yes the money part popped up, but when I think 10 or 20 years ahead, without professional adjustments, would I end up using a walker or wheel chair? How much extra would I pay in 10 or 20 years for a housekeeper or a gardener if I was not able to physically look after my personal needs? Pay a little now or pay a huge amount later. I have been receiving treatment now for 8 months and it has been the best money ever spent. Many things have improved 95%. My best compliment to Dr. James Whillans and his staff, would be that they truly understand how important it is to educate and inform the client as to why we all need adjustments. It is now a huge priority in my life to ensure that I keep up with this plan of adjustments as it helps every part of my body inside and out. I only wish my friend would have invited me years earlier.

I met Dr. James Whillans at a Health event and at the time was suffering a serious issue with my neck. His words as he stared into my desperate eyes were, "well we know that something is not right". I had a clicking in my neck when I turned my head to the left. It was like an elastic band snapping every time I turned my head. By mid day I would be so fatigued and aching from ears to shoulders. Xrays revealed a real mess according to my GP who then suggested if it bothers me too much just take Advil. No treatment, just live with it. I had also struggled with lower back pain for the past 2 decades. Diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. No treatment, just take a pill. I went for my free consultation at Dr. James office and the staff were so very and naturally pleasant. I was able to view the xrays with my husband and that was what it took for us both to realize that something needed to be done. We bit the bullet and made the investment. You bet it was an expensive decision but I can assure you, a year later, it was well worth it. Today I have no clicking, no pain and am on maintenance. I look forward to going every 2 weeks. It's amazing how well I feel after a few small adjustments. This is not a quick fix solution of being cracked and off you go practice. This is a restorative and prevention style practice that should be a life long choice we make for our entire health. The nervous system effects every part of the body. I am a carpenter, and I have been a client of Lifeworks for 2-1/2 years. I had chronic pain in my hip, neck and back. It was slowly getting worse and more areas were being affected. In a world that is bombarded by the pressures of the pharmaceutical industry and the false information they spend billions of dollars on to drill into our heads for the sole purpose of profits, ‘alternative’ health professionals like Dr. James refuse to back down to these lies and stand true to the world of natural health. Many people, mainly those who don’t know anything about chiropractic, think that a chiropractor is someone you go to when you ‘throw your back out,’ or if you’re stiff and need your back ‘cracked.’ If one were to spend more time researching the TRUE art of chiropractic, how this discipline of health even came to be, and even the amount of schooling that is required for someone to become a chiropractor, they would find that back injuries have little to do with it. Dr. James is committed to the true fundamentals of chiropractic and the ability for the body to heal itself through a nervous system clear of interference. (What does the nervous system have to do with chiropractic?? If you’re seeing a chiropractor right now and he or she hasn’t taught you this, it’s probably about time you searched for a new one). I have been getting my daughter adjusted by Dr. James since about 2 hours after she was born and continue to do so on a regular basis. Why? Not because she is sick or was born with some physical disability but, on the contrary, she was born (like the majority of us) perfectly healthy, and I continue to get her adjusted to KEEP HER THAT WAY. I believe in Dr. James and I believe in chiropractic. Tired of doctors treating you like an idiot and pumping you full of whatever pills they prescribe you because chances are they get a bonus commission from the pharmaceutical industry that sells it? Try seeing Dr. James and for once in your life be empowered to take your health into your own hands and learn about the body’s incredible ability to heal itself and most importantly the role that chiropractic plays in ALLOWING the body to do so. I was a professional athlete for 20+ years in which I’ve had these injuries; Liz Frank Fracture in my right foot twice, torn ligaments in my left foot twice, torn ACL & MCL right knee...only once????, fractured right pelvis, separated both shoulders once, three back surgeries, torn rotator cuff left shoulder third and final time...along with multiple concussions and DDD so I’m very cautious trying anywhere new that has to do with my body but I figured after moving to Kelowna 1.5 years ago I should look into getting straightened out ????. I have to admit I was skeptical at first. I'm active, I eat clean and generally live a healthy lifestyle. There were minor issues I had that I felt were 'normal', for example pain in my neck and shoulders, among a few other things. Right from the get-go Dr. Kent was invested in every word I said about my daily activities so he could truly understand how he could help me if I needed it. I got scans and x-rays done which showed us data that was directly correlated to some of the issues I was experiencing. He even brought in a book for me he thought might give insight into areas he wasn't as familiar with. He really went above and beyond before I even started treatments! Needless to say I trusted him and went to him regularly for a month. The difference in my scans after his recommended treatments was amazing! Not only did I notice functional improvements, but less pain as well. I can't imagine not going anymore at this point. I've seen Dr. James a couple of times and he too is a gem! I honestly can't recommend LifeWorks Chiropractic enough! If you believe your body can be functioning at a higher level - it can. Just give them a call to find out for yourself.

Seriously they have helped me so much. I had so much right shoulder pain from computer work over years, and could not walk up stairs using my right leg. Dr. James has fixed my neck so well (36 years) after a childhood neck injury that left me with psoriasis on my scalp for most of my life, that i no longer had any psoriasis rashes. I originally was referred to Lifeworks Chiropractic by a friend who found she could continue functioning well at both her jobs after being adjusted as planned by Dr. James. My original complaint was a very sore lower back. More recently, I came back after 5 years away, with very sore hips and psoriasis had returned. After the first two weeks of multiple adjustments and following his instructions for at home and at work cleaning, I found I had no pain in my hips. At all!! I hadn’t even mentioned my sore hips when i was previously attending his clinic because I assumed he wouldn’t be able to fix this any further than adjusting my spine. Not true!! Recently he’s been able to adjust that whole area!! I am so grateful for this as I did NOT want to face the so common surgery typically offered by the regular doctors. I am now thinking of going back to running again... we’ll see. I am 63, so just wondering if that’s wise... So NICE TO HAVE THE FREEDOM to even consider that! I’ve been going to life works for 7 years, when my daughter was born in June Doctor James came to the hospital to give my daughter her first adjustment. Because birth isnt just hard on the mother it’s also hard on the baby! As she started growing I noticed she only turned her head to the right. When I tried to turn her head the other way it couldn’t go as far as the right side. I told Doctor James and he adjusted her neck and a couple weeks later she was able to turn both ways, and VERY well! Also I know when you think ‘Chiropractor’ you think bone cracking, but when it come to your baby Doctor James he used his fingers to adjust! She sleeps right through the adjustments! I will continue to bring my daughter for weekly adjustments for optimal health and development.
