He makes sure he isn't hurting you, and makes the extra effort to ensure that if you are when you go in, you aren't when you leave.

I started seeing Dr Ettenson about 4/5 months ago after seeing two other chiropractors in the area who I had difficulty adjusting me. I was pleasantly surprised that he had no issues when adjusting me and was in fact probably one of the most gentle adjusters I have seen in 25 years of going to different chiropractors. He tells you the do's and don'ts for optimal health; follow his recommendations and you'll improve quicker. On the flip side he also recognizes people's lifestyles and we can't always follow the should do's. He's knowledgeable and cares about each person's physical concerns and explains why and how he is going to adjust. The clinic is clean but appears slightly dated, however, his adjustment rates are below market cost/value. So for me it's a win to get a good practitioner than a shiny clinic. No complaints and now that Ihave my issues under control I usually see him for maintenance now every 2 to 3 weeks. Need a chiropractor give him a try, you won't be disappointed.

Dr. Allan cared a great deal and worked with me on a regular basis to become injury free. He was patient and understanding that I still had to be on my feet everyday, even though it wasn't ideal. I was so grateful that he was willing to work with my lifestyle without criticism. I will recommend him to anybody and everybody!

Recently I have been diagnosed with multiple issues ranging from a torn muscle in my shoulder to arthritis in many parts of my body. On my first visit Dr. Ettenson took the time to describe clearly to me what my issues were and both his kindness, knowledge and expertise alleviated many of my fears. Between us we discussed what the treatment(s) would be and I felt very much involved with the decision making in this. Since seeing Dr. Ettenson I can now stand up straight in the mornings with much less pain, and sometimes no pain, and the mobility in my neck is more flexible. My shoulder is healing. My doctor yesterday also commented on my improvements and was very pleased with Dr. Ettenson’s treatments and recommendations. I have been going to Donn for about 20 years, since before he started the business at Lakeshore Village Health Centre. He has always been the most honest and helpful person I know. His dog Douglas (now quite old and sick) is an excellent addition to his workplace. Douglas is a sweet dog that lies down for pets and rubs. Everyone I know who frequents the Centre loves seeing Douglas. I have never had any issues with overcharging. The service is the best I have ever had from a chiropractor. Donn goes over and above in terms of treatment. He will search for the cause of your pain and provide more than just Chiropractic. I would recommend Donn to be your chiropractor and do recommend him to everyone I know who needs help with pain.

I had a neck adjustment from Dr. Ettenson that was the worst one ever. My head actually vibrated afterwards. I went back to him a couple of days later explaining my situation and he checked out my neck and said it was OK and didn't need an adjustment. I went directly downtown to my previous chiropractor and had him check it out. He said my neck was out by a mile and did an adjustment that fixed the issue immediately. I would not recommend this doctor for any sort of neck adjustment. Besides, they are very risky and can cause strokes if not done properly. Be warned!!!!

MIRACLE WORKER!!! There are not enough positive words to express how grateful and pleased I am to have met Dr.Allen. He was kind enough to squeeze me in one day on an emergency basis and for the first time in 10+ years, I found 99% relief from a debilitation repetitive stress injury. I have been seeing Dr. Allen regularly. He is so knowledgable and gracious at each and every appointment and truly shows great concern for me as his patient. I would HIGHLY recommend to friends and family alike. In fact my husband also started seeing DR Allen and shared the same experience. After years of recurring pain in his shoulder he had his full range of motion back and minimal pain after only two appointments. Thanks Dr. Allen for giving us our lives back!!

He trys to steal your money by repeat charging on your credit card. He did it to me. I organized my bills with my visits and he charged for visits that didn't happen. I also witnessed someone else with the same issue. And donn Perelman used his dog douglas as protection from this person. The person questioning the multiple charges was not violent at all, and was also questioning why the dog was being used during the exchange of words. He cannot be trusted. This happened years ago but I've decided to wait to review for personal reasons. He cannot be trusted. He gets angry and his dog becomes defensive

I have been a patient of Donn's for a number of years and have found that he provides excellent service, even on very short notice. I had knee and lower back issues at various times due to overwork and Donn was able to take the pain away in a small number of visits. Donn offers all sorts of ideas about ways to prevent a recurrence of past injuries. I have also found his services to be very reasonably priced. I have visited a few other chiropractors over the years and certainly Donn is tops when it comes to dealing with pain reduction and helping me get on on with my life. I plan to consult Donn any time in future that I have overdone it with yard work and am in pain.

My wife and I have been treated by Donn on and off for the last 20 years. He has never made money an issue where treatments are concerned. He has even offered to treat people I have recommended to him even if they couldn't afford it. I have called and left messages when I knew he was closed in hopes that he would return the call as soon as he was in the next business day. He would return the call the same day and tell me to meet him in the office in 30 minutes or so. Regarding what Mario G is saying, I have never known Donn to raise his voice to anyone. His dog, Douglas, is like a kid and has never shown agressive behaviour. I understand he does not have a full time receptionist; as such there may be over sites, if so, he always rectifies it. Donn has never been anything but gracious.

I'm not sure what Mario G. has been smoking. I have been a patient of Donn's on and off for over ten years. He is accommodating and his fees are reasonable. I have never witnessed Donn argue or raise his voice with a client, over money or any other issue, although from time to time he has been known to say "You can pay me next time". The only problem I have noticed with Doug is that he thinks everybody should scratch his neck. I'm giving Donn 4 stars, because I just don't believe in giving a perfect score to anybody. Get a life Mario.

I went to see Dr. Ettenson and told him that I did not want to do any adjustments and wasn't comfortable with them. He scared me into believing I would never get better and only worse if I did not do adjustments. I asked him if there were any side effects and he said some people feel nausea for a couple of days. I allowed him to do it out of fear of what he was saying and he used a tool which felt like a hammer at the back of my neck and shoulder. After he used a massager on my shoulder. I started having pains in the back of my head after this treatment.and saw him once more and said I do not want any more adjustments and that i just wanted the massager. I did not see him after this as the pain did not stop. I am extremely upset that this Dr. scared me into doing something I did not want to do and did not properly explain what he was doing and misled me to think it was very safe with no dangerous side effects. I wish someone had warned me before seeing him. Please do not see this dr who uses scare tactics and is not safe.
