Absolutely amazing service! Dr. AJ is an absolute gem of a person to work with. The staff at the front desk (Via/Isabel/Heather) are so understanding and delightful-easy to find an appt that works with your schedule. Been always complaining of lower back pain, discovered that i needed alignment for my back- feeling more balanced, focused, energetic, experiencing less painful menstrual cycles and surprisingly far less bloated/heartburny than I ever was. 20/10 recommend!!! absolutely!

Finding myself unable to look up one day. I found myself searching for a chiropractor. But as always with me. Even when terribly compromised, I'm willing to travel and wait if need be, to get in the hands of an excellent professional. Thankfully I found my solution nearby. Dr. Ongko and his staff are a wonderful team of knowledgeable and helpful people. My neck and lower back received too many collisions while in vulnerable positions over many years of ice hockey goaltending. And with Dr. Ongko's help thus far (these things take time) I'm feeling as good as I can ever remember. However I had come to accept some nagging problems and aches as being "normal". And we're getting rid of those now :D I can't say enough. He's worth your time. Get your life back.

I started receiving treatment in October 2020 with Dr. AJ, and by December I could already feel improvements throughout my body. The way I thought about the things I did, such as how I hold & use my cellphone, how I sit while at work, and even how I relax at home, have all changed-- for the better! I was in a car accident several years ago and it left parts of my body changed and in what I thought was permanent pain; since receiving treatment, much of the pain in my right arm & chest, as well as upper & lower back and my neck have alleviated some, and the stretches I was told to do have helped in my everyday movements and general way of life. All the staff are super friendly and helpful, I feel welcomed and remembered everytime I go there, it's such a refreshing and nice feeling when the staff remember your name-- and they see hundreds of people! The office is very clean and well-lit, there's sanitizer all over; due to Covid-19, the washrooms are currently off limits. Masks are always worn by everyone there, and all clients are respectful of the shoes off rule (tho done are kind of lax and just leave their shoes in the doorway). The only downside of the office: the tiny parking lot!???? If you go there at their busier times (usually around 4pm), you're going to either have to wait or park further down the street, so be aware! Overall, I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking to receive treatment! They also have a registered Massage Therapist on site, and offer gift cards for various services.

Dr. Ongko has helped me and my family very much! Initially my father was in so much pain he had trouble walking. Sitting for even short periods of time was also painful. I went because I had severe neck pain that would cause headaches 3 to 4 times a week. after an assessment with Dr. Ongko, we started a 6 month treatment plan. I have started chiropractic care back in January 2019 and actually found Dr Ongko because of the amazing reviews on here. I was suffering from back pain in my upper back and neck and was developing a bit of kyphosis [hunchback] which I am happy to report has improved tremendously. I really like Dr. Ongko's approach which includes him creating a treatment plan tailored to your needs. I am still going for adjustments more than a year after I started and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I am looking forward to having my spine aligned every two weeks. Dr. Ongko is really knowledgeable and friendly and Heather, his receptionist is the best. I am going for my adjustments in the morning and I usually deal with Heather. Another thing I enjoy is the family feel of this place, you feel like you're part of a community. I highly recommend this place if you're contemplating chiropractic care.

Dr. AJ Pacis has magic hands. I had a bad fall when I slipped on ice in the winter of 2015. Since then I have been suffering with pain in my lower back and problems with my tailbone, feet and knees. I tried everything. The doctors weren't able to help me. I also tried acupuncture, massages and herbal remedies but after struggling with my problem for 3 years I was still looking for a solution, then I met someone who told me about Dr. AJ Pacis. After many years as a legal assistant and many many hours working on a computer I had thought my neck and shoulder pain was a side effect of the job. Massages never seemed to help. After a month of visits with Dr. Ongko I realise how wrong my thinking was. His clear explanations, kindness and concern during his sessions helped me understand that work stresses and age do not need to be limitations, that there are alternate solutions. Dr. Ongko's treatments have begun to bring movement and ease back into my body. My experience with Active Family Chiropractic & wellness clinic is excellent. Receptionists are very friendly and always track your appointments and give your reminders on important visits. Dr Ongko is duper friendly, and his adjustments help me to improve my lower back pain that have been bothering me for over 10 years. Also their youtube channel well show you how to maintain your status with variety of exercises and stretches. Their progress exams are great, Dr Ongko will explain clearly on your progress, what treatments needs to be done and what are your options. I was afraid to have the adjustment done before, worrying that it will be painful, especially after the car accident. But Dr Ongko is very gentle, and my adjustments are nothing but excellent. The best thing on top of the excellent chiropractic adjustment is the efficiency of time. From appointments, patients info, scans ...are all digitized. Each patient are given a fob to sign in, you will be able to see how many patients are ahead of you in the screens (usually less than 2 people). When it's your turn, all your info and status will pulled up ready on screen, the doctor can quickly assess you, and perform the adjustment. Each visit takes less than 15mins. I hate booking appointments in clinics, yet still need to wait for an hour. Active Family Chiropractic & wellness clinic is highly recommended, if you need chiropractic adjustment, this is the place to go!!

I was suffering from upper back issues which led to lots of discomfort day to day and trouble sleeping. I had never been to a Chiropractor before and decided to come to this clinic after seeing the positive reviews. I have been coming to this clinic for about 6 months now and within the first few weeks of adjustments I was able to feel a significant difference in my back and neck (which I wasn't aware I had an issue). Dr. Ongko is very knowledgeable, he helped me identify different things I was doing everyday that were contributing the problems I had. He has helped remove the stiffness from my back, regain flexibility and even help my knee (old injury) to move freely. I no longer have discomfort or trouble sleeping! I look forward to chiropractic adjustments and I am continuing my treatment at the clinic. Heather and Evita at the front desk are friendly and a pleasure to work with! I was also fortunate to have Natasha as my Massage Therapist, she has helped me relieve the tension in back, shoulders and neck from long commutes. I went for too many they named under Chiropracter, but they are absolutely not anything to compare! They been only relieved me from pain only. I start with Dr. Ajax as referral from my freind. I start with history assessment then physical assessment and X-ray. Next day, dr.A J discussed my x-ray result, future risks, and the benefits of treatments then payments options. I have had an on and off tension headache for years which usually triggered by day-to-day stressors. I usually got relief by taking over-the-counter medicine, which was truly not sustainable. For the past year, the nature of my work has changed significantly from being mobile all the time to sit behind a computer for an average of 10 hours a day. Headaches and neck stiffness were becoming more frequent, which led me to seek chiropractic care. I booked my initial appointment at the beginning of January 2020 and have been receiving treatment ever since under Dr. AJ’s care. From day 1, the staff (Heather and Evita) have been really helpful and friendly. Not having any experience going to a chiropractic clinic, I always feel so welcomed and never out of place. The clinic also has a clear protocol to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety due to Covid-19. Dr. AJ is very knowledgeable and he takes his time to make sure that I feel comfortable and understand the adjustment process every step of the way. The treatment plan includes a spinal care class, which I found to be really beneficial. I am 1.5 months in, and aside from being more aware of my posture (from the spinal care class), a major noticeable difference has been the absence of my tension headache so far. I wish I would have reached out sooner!

I developed an excruciating backpain, found it impossible to stand up or walk due to prolonged sitting at work. He really cares about his patients and listens to what you have to say, and after he listens he acts upon your issue and it always gets resolved. I came across Active Chiropractic and Wellness Centre through Google reviews and started to get my chiropractic adjustments done from here for the past few months. Wow!!! what a difference it has made, literally night and day and I could start seeing the improvements in just the first couple of adjustments. Dr. A.J was amazing, knowledgeable and always responsive to my questions. Even during the Covid crisis he was checking up on my well being from time to time and provided us with regular updates on the clinic. The best part about this clinic is that they have a class every month to explain the effects of spinal decompression and the importance of chiropractic treatment which is extremely helpful for people. In addition to manual manipulation, he uses technology in both the treatment and the diagnosis of the patent. Having sciatica was probably one of the worst pain I’ve experienced. It was terrifying and it affected my daily activities. I did not want to ignore it so I did my research right away and found Active Family Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. I met Dr. AJ Pacis, he listened to my symptoms and did a full and thorough evaluation of my spine and overall health. He explained the treatment plan and the benefits of chiropractic treatment to my health. He also performed XRay of my spine which was readily available in the clinic. He patiently discussed my findings and how it affects my health in general and answered all my questions. They also provided zoom for spinal care class that covers things such as stretches that help with pain and spinal health. I’ve been going to the clinic for the past 5 months and I’ve noticed the progression and great improvement to my sciatic pain even after a few weeks of adjustments. Before I can’t even sit without having the pain, and now I’m pretty much back to my normal activities, no restriction to my movements at all. In addition, I’ve noticed other improvements in my health like less headaches/migraines that also greatly impacted me before. The front desk staff are also amazing, Heather and Avita are very friendly and welcoming. They are very flexible and accomodating with booking. I work long hours of night shift, and they were flexible to my schedule and sometimes last minute changes. Since COVID, they also have been maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the clinic. They follow COVID guidelines, there’s sanitizers everywhere and everyone is wearing mask and follow social distancing. Getting my chiropractic treatment at Active Family Chiropractic and Wellness have been one of the best investment I’ve done for myself. Gave chiropractic care a chance expecting to be given intense attention to my bodies specific needs but what I got was the experience of a production line. I would travel 30 minutes there and back to be on the table for no more than 3 minutes. After my initial evaluation, I never heard about my specific needs or issues again and how they were progressing. The “adjustment” looked the exact same every time regardless of what pain I expressed. I felt no change in my body over the course of 3 months worth of appointments. I’ve never felt more like a number. Admin staff are sassy and overwhelming. I got incredibly sick and could not attend some appointments. I was told that “I’m forgiven” since I was sick. They call you a 1000 times instead of letting you call back. Wouldn’t recommend. Find something less capitalist.

10 years ago I suffered with severe migraines. throbbing pain at the front and side of my head. nausea, vomiting and increased sensitivity to light. I would take the pillow and place on my head to block out the light and take pain killers to ease the pain. Once I started receiving chiropractic treatment, I realized that the migraines became less frequent. Chiropractic has helped me to this day. When I do not receive my regular treatment, I can feel the difference in my body. I can now identify if something is not right within myself. Dr. Ongko is very friendly and I’ve had a great experience. There is a sensor to measure the alignment of your spine and you can see the progression of the treatment. But more than that, I’ve had physical proof! I was having a pain in my right foot to varying degrees over several months. I was just living with it until I mentioned it to Dr. Ongko. After the first and second treatments the pain would go away and only come back a little bit more. After the third or fourth it was gone completely! I can walk pain free. I initially went because my benefits covered it and since I was seeing good results from my physio benefits I thought I would try this as well. I am so happy that I did! I frequent the gym and lift heavy and had no idea how much this service could have helped until I actually tried it. Through heavy activity, I learned the reasons and sources of my frequent injuries/aches and have been able to make the necessary adjustments moving forward in the gym. Obviously things don't always go as planned and I do need some tweaks/adjustments. Doctor AJ has been excellent in helping me with these. Another area separate from my gym injuries/aches has been my constant neck pain. Turns out I haven't been sleeping properly and have not been doing my neck/back any favours... This was another surprising but necessary awakening for me and once again have been making adjustments to improve thanks to Doctor AJ's advice. After reading all the positive reviews on google I booked an appointment and went to see Dr. Ongko for an initial assessment for my back & neck pain. The Doctor listened to my pain complaint and performed few tests. He then informed me that on my next appointment he would let me know about treatment plan. I paid $70 for initial assessment which i was aware of before visiting. On my next appointment Dr. Ongko discussed the results of tests and informed that he has devised a treatment plan over a span of six months with 3 treatments in a week. He showed me an agreement laying the cost of the treatment plan. Dr. Ongko said that the total cost of the treatments for 6 months will be $2040 (3 adjustments a week). He further informed that the treatment fee of $ 2040 has to be paid in advance which was quite surprising & shocking for me as I have never heard physiotherapists / chiropractors getting advance payments before treatments. Anyhow Doctor Ongko told me that there are two way of paying the advance fee. Either I can pay upfront now for 6 months & get a discount of 15% or pay a monthly cost of $408 (without discount). He said that this advance fee will be reimbursed if I am not satisfied with the treatment. But he simply forgot to mention that there is a 5% admin fee deductible upon requesting for a fee refund which i saw on the agreement. He asked me to sign the agreement, on which I informed him that arranging this large amount isn't possible for me and if I could just go ahead with the option of paying on each visit. But to my disappointment, he didn't agree on that and clearly said that there are only two options (either paying full in advance or paying an advance monthly fee). I asked him if I can take the copy of agreement and think over it but he refused to give the copy and said its not some legal document and is just for their office record. I was again flustered by the fact as he wanted me to sign an agreement and was not willing to give a copy which legally If i sign becomes a legal documents and I am entitled to get a copy too. Well he did not do any treatment that day and after explaining the agreement sent me back saying he can only start the treatment once i sign the agreement. I wish if this clinic could tell their patients about these unusual & unheard of terms and condition regarding advance payment & contract before doing an assessment to avoid wasting the initial assessment fee. Disappointing experience. Jan 17, 2017 In reply to the response from the clinic, I would like to mention; I categorically asked Dr. Ongko that if I may be able to opt for Pay per visit but he told me that we only go my these advance payment plans. In which I wonder how these advance payment plans would help a patient. The doc has mentioned that he has sent my payment of $70 in mail; however; I have not received any payment so far...

I've been attending for a few months here now and it has been great! I referred my husband as well. For the past 4 years I’ve been experiencing stiff necks with worsening conditions. They initially were every couple of months but got worse to 1-2 every single month. I could actually feel my spine shift between my shoulder blades and pinch tight. The muscles in the surrounding area would spasm and I would need to take muscle relaxant pill to continue on with my day. It got so severe that I would carry muscle relaxant pills in my lunch bag and a stiff neck would happen just from walking down the stairs. After going to another chiropractic center I finally realized how impersonal my visits here were. I was in and out in 5 minutes after a few basic cracks. AJ would barely speak two words and I just felt like a number. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't pay the thousands of dollars of upfront fees and decided to be pay as you go but it was always cold. the front desk reception service is nice but again they prioritize patients that paid the up front fees. They won't even give pay as you go clients Saturday appointments.

I've been seeing Dr Ongko since Nov 2017. I had severe neck pain and some back pain as well. He created a personalized plan for me (as he does with all his patients). Whatever he did worked! Each time I go I can feel a difference and my pain went away little by little until it was completely back to normal. For a year I went to an rmt for my back and neck pain on a weekly or bi weekly basis and only felt temporary relief. After a couple of days the pain would be back. Dr Ongko knows what he's doing and really helps heal your body. Bonus is you never have to wait long when you come in for an appointment as he moves through his patients in a timely manner. I came across the Active Family Chiropractic & Wellness Centre while driving by after picking-up my daughter from camp. As most people I have somewhat neglected and put aside looking after physical pain, in my case it was my upper back. You just deal with it one way or another until it really hurts. Fortunately when that happened I remembered the place I always saw when I drove by. I gave them a call and was greeted over the phone kindly by a very helpful lady who took the time to answer all my questions. She explained how the process worked and helped me set up an assessment appointment with Dr. Ongko. During my assessment the Dr. was quite thorough, he took x-rays and explained a few things. I later went to a 2nd appointment where the Doctor explained everything in more detail: the treatment, scheduling, cost and forms of payment. We moved forward from there. I have now been engaged in my treatment for about 2.5 months, so far my experience has been extraordinary. I feel a great deal of improvement as my pain has receded and my back is straightening. My wife was the first to notice a change in my posture. I would like to point out that about a week into my treatment one day while watching tv with my daughter and lying on the floor upon getting up I hurt my back. I didn’t know what happened, nor what was best to do, I was in severe pain. This took place on a Friday evening, on Saturday morning I called the Active Family Chiropractic & Wellness Centre to see if they had any advice, one of the ladies at front desk took very good care of me and had the Doctor call me right away. He actually called me quite fast, listened to me, did an assessment over the phone and recommended what I should do until he saw me next, which was to be on Monday. On my next appointment he focused on the area of pain and re-directed his treatment accordingly. I find that this not only demonstrated a great deal of empathy and care for patient well being but also exemplary dedication. Dr. Ongko in general is a well intended good person and a true professional. I also went for a massage with one of their massage professionals which was of the highest calibre. Personally I highly recommend the Active Family Chiropractic & Wellness Centre; for their Doctors, their massage staff and ladies at the front desk - who are a gem (one would need to dig quite deep to find something negative about any of them) excellent, always willing to assist. Personally I suggest you do your homework first, find out how chiropractors work: their assessment and treatment procedures, how they bill, types of plans, what your insurance covers etc. Even call others as I did. I believe that at the end, if you are smart you will end up like me at the Active Family Chiropractic & Wellness Centre - there are few and far between clinics at this level of service & care.

I suffered from abdominal pain for about two years. I was about to give up, as the numerous doctors that I consulted were not able to find the root cause. I had a back injury that resulted in 1 herniated & 2 bulging disks. I was in constant severe pain & couldn't sit or bend over without being in agony. My family doctor sent me for physiotherapy & after a month of that it was worse. By then I was on prescription pain meds & anti-inflammatory drugs (along with others to combat side effects) to try & maintain some function. I tried an Osteopath, & even acupuncture for a couple of months with limited, short term results. I was very skeptical of the Chiropractic profession but was at the point that I would try anything. Over the course of 3 weeks, I managed to reduce the prescription pain meds, anti-inflammatory drugs, & associated meds to the point where I was off of all prescription drugs completely. I started coming for chiropractic care because of my hip a few years ago. The pain rapidly progressed over a span of months. My sore hip made it hard to go to work as I was mostly standing. It started to feel like it was going numb at times and made it hard to stretch that particular leg. As soon as I went to my first chiropractic session, I felt instant relief. After continually going, the pain went away completely. Upon going, you’ll notice right away how kind the staff how. The receptionists are always lovely to talk to as they greet you when you walk in. Dr Pacis is always super friendly and you can tell how passionate he is about his job. He listens attentively as you explain your initial problem then he explains how and what is going on in your body so that you have a thorough understanding as well and you feel informed. They are all about helping and preventing so that you can feel like your best self. I only wish I sought help sooner.

It would be a pain that would come and go every so often, and I never took it seriously enough to get it checked out. I decided to try and see a chiropractor after noticing my neck and back pain was not going away (and getting worse) and my family doctor told me that I was fine and just prescribed medication if I wanted it for the pain. I've always dealt with lower back pains and neck pains in the past and have been to chiropractors in the past but the pains still comes and goes. I wanted to find something close to home and stumbled upon Active Family on google and noticed very good reviews on the clinic so I decided to give it a try. During my initial assessment, Dr Ongko went through a thorough questionnaire with me and performed an xray and scan of my spine and some simple tests to assess the condition of my spine and on the follow up appointment, he went through the results with me and explained to me the importance of maintaining and improving my spinal health. I really appreciate the thoroughness of the assessment in order to pin point the areas of my spine that required more focus - something that I've never done with my previous chiropractors before. I have now been going to see Dr Ongko for a few months and with the help of his recommended stretching exercise and adjustments, I do feel improvements in my lower back and neck. The adjustment appointments at the clinic are quick and on time, Dr Ongko is friendly and caring, the staffs at the front desk are friendly and are accommodating with booking appointments. The clinic follows protocols to maintain social distancing and disinfects after each patient. Would definitely recommend giving Dr Ongko a try for any chiropractic needs! :)

As a dancer and avid traveler heel pain, sciatica or back pain puts a big damper on these pursuits. I believe in the body's innate ability to heal given the correct impetus and have, over the years, explored and successfully used alternate health care methods. Currently researching Taoism, I was intrigued to note that Chiropractors were known as 'bone setters" - a natural healing modality practiced since time immemorial. And so, when I started experiencing twinges in my lower back I looked for a chiropractic clinic that was strongly recommended and within an easy commute. This was not my first visit to a chiropractor. Many years ago when I had numbness in my left hand, even though I saw a specialist, it was a couple of visits to a chiropractor that fixed the problem at that time. It was therefore with total conviction that I called the ACTIVE Family and Wellness Center. The staff are friendly, efficient and effective and will guide you through the initial process and soon you will begin to feel like family. I signed up for a program that provided 36 sessions. I have to say it was a necessary and rewarding investment in myself. Dr. AJ was not only super nice, he is very educating and committed to your success. I was well aware this wasn't going to be a quick magical cure. Your weekly adjustments and commitment at home is something that is asked of you, but, necessary. In order for this to work, it takes work on your end too; along with keeping chiropractic therapy a key component in your lifestyle while figuring the right frequency for you. Dr AJ was incredible at facilitating all of this. He provided things to do at home (exercises, diet, changing little everyday routines etc..) and worked with your physical issues. Since finishing the program, the pain in my ankles are now gone, my shoulder issue has been much better, and I have much less back and neck pain than I had before. I know this isn't the end, and in order to maintain where I am at and further improve my physical and mental well-being I will continue to include my routine with this clinic. I also like to recognize how accommodating Dr. AJ was with my personal/financial dilemmas. This has overall been a great experience.

My journey with chiropractic treatment with Dr. Ongko started 9 years ago when after giving birth I got dizzy and off balanced. It’s like floating for no reason and Was just feeling off and no Medical doctor can explain it. All my tests were normal. I’ve been referred to neurologist and a lot more Specialist but to no avail. It was one of the hardest phases in my life as I was physically unable to care for my kids. I've been coming to Active Family for over 3 years and right from the beginning, I knew I was in good hands. To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect from a chiropractor and was originally a bit skeptical. I first came with a reoccurring shoulder pain that massages and physio were not able to help much with. Dr. AJ took his time and we spoke extensively about my injury as well as his recommended treatment plan. The change wasn't immediate but over time I gained more mobility in my shoulder and had SIGNIFICANTLY less pain. I used to be a dancer so I've grown accustomed to constant discomfort but adjustments every other week have managed to keep them at bay. With the switch to working from home, I began developing pain in different areas but after mentioning it once, Dr. AJ included that in the adjustments and would check on them regularly. They also offered a class that taught patients different stretches and exercises they could do at home to ease any pain they may have which helps a lot between sessions. Beyond that, the front desk staff greet me by name every session with a smile on their faces and always accommodate schedule changes when needed. They are incredibly organized and I've never waited longer than 10 minutes for a session (and that was only because I was early for my appointment). Dr. Ongko made a huge difference in the level of comfort I experienced during my pregnancy, unlike my other pregnant girlfriends I did not experience the back pain that is common during pregnancy. When something felt off with my back or pelvis I would let Dr. Ongko know and sure enough after the adjustment I felt aligned and comfortable again. I originally signed up for tension headaches (which also decreased drastically) but I highly recommend him especially for pregnant woman. I met Doctor Ongko at the Erin Mills shopping centre when he convinced me to take a free spinal test which showed areas that needed adjustment. I've been seeing Dr. Ongko for about two months now and it has been a life changing experience. I've been a migraine sufferer since I was in my early teens (I'm in my late 30's) and as I got older my migraines/headaches got worse. Eventually those migraines and headaches lead to daily neck tensions and back pains. Just last year I also started having wrist and arm pain possibly from Carpal tunnel syndrome. It was so bad to the point where I couldn't turn on my electric toothbrush with my thumb, I couldn't open the lid to my waterbottle, I couldn't carry a grocery bag without being in pain. I tried solving the problem by wearing a wrist guard and relied on over the counter medicine. I knew I had to seek professional help when I started taking over the counter medicine on a daily basis for all my problems. That's when I found Active Family Chiropractic and Wellness Center. So far after seeing Dr. Ongko from Oct 2021-Jan 2022 I've been pain free, occasionally headaches here and there but not to the point where it has stopped me from doing my daily routine. My back and wrist pains have improved immensely. I do not need to wear a wrist band or rely on Advil/ Tylenol to feel better. Dr. Ongko and the staff are super friendly and very helpful. The only thing I regret out of this experience so far is that I didn't find this place sooner to get the help I needed. Listen to your body and don't wait for the problem to get worse.

Over the past 10 years now I have had severe back and neck pain that I just couldn't get rid of. I went different chiropractor's & wellness center's to find a solution, however none were truly effective. Eventually I just gave up and accepted the fact that this was going to be my life now going forward.. Then a couple months ago the neck and back pain got much worse, along with other terrible symptoms; severe migraines, dizziness, forgetfulness, brain fog. I've been suffering with lower to mid back, and lower to mid abdomen, pain since July 2017, when I hurt myself barbell squatting. I would routinely wake up in the middle of the night with excruciating pain in my abdomen and back, which would lead to me swallowing 2 Advil and walking around my house until the pain subsided (the interim between the pain and the pain subsiding was quite frankly scary, especially since I am in my mid-20s). Well, to combat the nightly pains, I would take 2 Advil before bed, and if I woke during the night with pain I would take 1-2 more. Eventually, I went to my general practitioner who told me I had a muscle strain and that intense stretching would solve my problems. His solution made things worse and pain became so unbearable that I went to the hospital for treatment. The doctors did some physical tests and then completed an ultrasound to look for ulcers. Everything came back negative, and after I asked the doctor what the appropriate next steps would be to find a solution to my ailment, the doctor said "Sometimes in life, people just have problems that don't go away, but in your case, let's just be glad that it's not an ulcer," and walked away. After a few more months without improvement, I had to try something else. I could not exercise and the little bit I could do was not intense enough to relieve any sort of stress/anxiety that accumulates through daily living, so my physical and mental health were both suffering. I made it a goal to try chiropractic treatment in the new year, and had my consultation appointment on January 10 with Dr. Ongko. I filled out forms about my personal and familial medical history, and my current ailments. In addition, we completed physical tests, and x-rays to discern probable causes of my ailment. After reviewing the x-ray results with Dr. Ongko, it became evident that my improper form when I was barbell squatting probably just aggravated the issues that I already: mainly a misalignment of vertebrae in my back, specifically my lower back. I have been having regular chiropractic work done on me for 4.5 half weeks now (14 adjustments) and I have quite a few left in my program. I happy to say that I no longer need to take Advil before bed and I don't routinely wake up with excruciating pain in my abdomen and back anymore: it has happened only once since I have started treatment when I went against Dr. Ongko's advice and completed his recommended stretches quite intensely, when he recommended I do them light. Sorry! Haha! Needless to say, I feel much improved, and am excited since my current chiropractic program lasts for 5 more months, and by then I should be better than ever. I look forward to it and continuing chiropractic treatment for years to come. Thanks!

I began my appointments with Active Family Chiropractic a few months ago following a chronic pain in my lower back that I had been suffering for close to a year. As an Early Childhood Educator, children keep me very busy and such pain just holds me back as I am on my feet and very busy for 8-9 hours a day. Before beginning my healing journey with Active Family Chiropractic, I used to tell my husband that I, a 20 something year old, rather felt like an 80 something year old as everyday I felt a new pain. Almost every time I would end up suffering those pains for a good while, before they went away and then came back again on another odd day. I can honestly say, since beginning the sessions, I have returned to feeling like my age and suffer little to no pains whatsoever. At the start the doctor was very kind and patient as he explained to me the ways in which the adjustments will hopefully help relieve the pains I have been suffering thus far. He took the time to answer any questions I had and helped me understand the benefits of chiropractic in the long term. The one hour zoom class that’s is included with sessions is something I was not particularly looking forward to, but something I am so glad I was encouraged to join in on as I actually found it very informative and made me really conscious of the the way I moved, rested and sat (especially when in one position for long period of time). The staff is all so incredible and kind. From day one, the staff would greet me by name, make me feel as if I am simply there to greet a friend and really do their best to assist you and make things easy for you. They have been so accommodating in regards of scheduling, as I have a very busy tight schedule and their long hours really makes it easy to fit the appointments in. I got lucky finding Active Family Chiropractor and Dr. AJ who explained to me my issues more extensively and clearly than anyone before. He then gave me a plan of action for the 4 weeks I would be in the area. After a few visits, the frequency and severity of my lower back pain and sciatica decreased for the first time since I herniated my disc. By the end of my plan, I’m happy to say my pain has decreased tremendously, my mobility has increased and so has my level of activity.All the staff are also very friendly and communicative and helped a great deal by being flexible with my visit schedule. When I started going to the gym as a younger teenager, I did a lot of things wrong as a beginner. Lifting things that were way too heavy for me with poor form had done some damage to my upper/lower back and shoulders. That pain has stayed with me from time to time, sometimes dull sometimes sharp. It came and went for maybe 5-6 years. After 2 weeks of treatment with Dr. Ongko, that pain was gone... I’ve been coming here for the program that he has prescribed me for the past 2 months and that pain has not returned at all to my pleasant surprise. When I first went to Dr. Elia I was suffering from neck, lower back and severe foot pain. Dr. Elia did a thorough assessment and found the cause of the problems. After several treatments my neck had regained full mobility and was pain free, the lower back pain was also gone. As my feet were in a lot of pain Dr. Elia reviewed my posture, walking and the orthotics that I was using. She found that one type of orthotics was helping my feet, another type was acutally hurting them. After treating my feet I can now walk and ballroom dance pain free. Dr. Ongko has been God's instrument to help my wife dizziness. The whole family has been going to this clinic for the past 9 years or so. I didnt realize how efffective chiropractic treatment is until we experienced it ourselves. In 2009, My wife has gone through a lot of medical test and no doctors can explain where her dizzy spells is coming from. all her medical test came out normal and their conclusion was she may have some sort of anxiety which is not true! She could not even walk without holding to anything after my wife gave birthday to our 2nd child. We almost given up until God directed us to chiropractic care.
