I started seeing Dr. Pat about 2 weeks ago. Immediately, I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and accommodating both the staff and Dr. Pat were! At my first appointment, I was impressed at how through and knowledgeable Dr. Pat and his staff was. It was easy to see the passion he has for what he does. I went in with neck, shoulder, back and hip pain. Since Dr. Pat has started adjusting me, I’m no longer experiencing the intense hip pain I was as well as the pain I was experiencing in my neck, shoulders and back is lessening more and more. I am seeing improvements in my posture. I look forward to each appointment and can’t wait to see the other improvements in my body. Dr. Pat is a needle in a haystack and I was lucky enough to find him!

Dr Patrick McGuire is amazing. He fixed a particularly tricky tailbone issue for me and it’s as good as new. It was so bad I couldn’t even sit. Through a series of adjustments, he carefully brought it back to normal. He is very thorough and took the time to explain his plan to fix it. Dr Pat and his team are amazing! I suffer from chronic back and neck pain which also makes my menstrual cycle unbearable to the point I'm curled in a ball on my couch from the pain. I can say that from my treatments with Dr.Pat and Justin I actually feel human again. I have more energy, my posture is better and being on my menstrual cycle I can actually function and be up and walk around rather than being curled up on the couch. When I first went to see Dr Maguire, I had been working in the construction industry for the past several years doing heavy lifting and hard laborious work. I had also previously worked as a skid-steer operator, or what most would call a bobcat. Even though I sat while operating the skid-steer, my body had to deal with being jolted and jostled from the machine, in addition to the constant low vibrations that ran through my body from the engine underneath me. Even though the machine does most of the work, my body and spine dealt with the constant stress of compensating for the forces placed upon it. As a result, I developed fatigue in my lower back from all the consistent force placed on my body. I began having a regular dull ache in the small of my lower back. The pain was never extreme; however it was always a nuisance and I was almost always aware of the general soreness. I started to see Dr. Pat to address this specific issue. He put me on a program that took 3 months, but I started to see results even after the first month! As the program continued and I stuck to my recommended care, I saw more positive results in my back. I no longer had the pain in my lower spine. Furthermore, I felt overall less fatigue in my back, even after continuing to run the bobcat each day. I continue to see Dr. Pat for maintenance so that my back can stay in top shape, because I use it every day. I would recommend Dr. Pat for any and all back issues, since you only get one spine!

I've been a patient of Dr. Pat's for 2 years and he is the best chiropractor I've ever had (and I've had lots) -- Dr. Pat is so friendly and full of positivity. I started seeing him while I was a student and he helped me come up with a care plan that fit both my schedule and my finances. I've still continued to see him now that I'm in the work force and dealing with new aches and pains from sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. Recently, I had a horrible headache last lasted 3 days. I've been visiting Mount Royal Village Family Chiro for about a year now, and everyone here is amazing. Dr. Pat truly cares about his patients and he's very, very good at what he does - I always leave feeling like the tin-man, but after he's been very well-oiled! Justin is a fabulous massage therapist - if you want a really deep treatment and have your body whipped into shape, he does not mess around. He listens to your needs and gives great advice in regard to additional exercises and stretches to help continue the benefits of treatment, even outside of this office. I had a bad fall down a flight of stairs last year, resulting in a broken leg, and both Dr. Pat and Justin helped get me on the right path, but I was still needing a little something more, which is where Dr. Sydney came in. She is an extremely gifted acupuncturist; I can truly say that her treatments have changed my life and helped me get to my next stage of healing. There's something about taking the necessary steps to protect and enhance your personal health that inspires you to go even deeper; continuing the healing into all other aspects of your life, which is exactly what this clinic and its employees/Dr.'s have helped me do. I went to Mount Royal Village in March as I had a very stiff neck and was tried of taking anti-inflammatory medication. I will admit was skeptical at first. The staff there are super friendly and Dr. Pat sent me for x-rays before he would even consider doing an adjustment. My experience at MRV Family Chiro has been incredible. Jasmine & Natalie are very attentive to what is happening in their surroundings and with the all the patients that come and go throughout the day. Dr. Pat is the most friendly person I've met, especially working with different ppl everyday, day in day out, always has a smile on his face and tells you if you are improving or not. Tells you it straight! We (boyfriend and I) saw them at the Calgary Wellness show back in March 2019 and they were very approachable and assisted us quickly and booked us right in. I have BAD posture and wanted to do something to correct it and let me tell you, since the first time i step into the clinic and every time I return, they have been attentive, making sure you are doing well and have everything you need. I went through the whole deal from the hands on assessment and x-rays and they went through it in major detail for me to understand what is going on. Only five stars? I would give more.... My teenage son and I have had a fantastic experience with Dr. Pat, and all of his associates. They treat you like family. The initial exam was extremely thorough. Dr. Pat took great care in explaining our health in a detailed, understandable manner. The treatment has also been exemplary. One of the surprising benefits that both my son and I have experienced is a marked improvement in our eyesight. Both of us have 20/20 vision, however immediately after treatment we both noticed a heightened vibrancy and clarity. Looking forward to our next treatment.

The experience you receive at Mount Royal Village Family Chiropractic starts with exceptional work from his two Administrative Assistants (Jasmine and Natalie). Jasmine is quick to schedule your follow-up appointments and makes the ease of billing/cashing out seamless. Natalie takes time to explain the assessments and patient history to give Dr. Pat a head start. Clear communication and detailed assessments allow Dr. Pat to optimize his schedule and dedicate his time to his patients. They do x-rays and hands on assessments to find trouble areas in the spine that is basically your fuse box to the entire body. Dr. Pat has a true passion for the work he does and takes pride in his profession. I have scoliosis and am an avid gym goer (exercise savvy as well)- Dr. Pat's adjustments complement my training and I've seen tremendous benefits in mobility and strength. Muscles activate better in my core, traps and hips. The clinic is also staffed with two phenomenal Massage Therapists in Justin and Carlie. You get complete care in one clinic and the service from start to finish is consistently impressive.

Dr. Pat and his team are amazing.They came highly recommended by 2 people I worked with. I came home one evening in April 2018 and couldn't lift my arm over my head without great pain. There was no acute injury, I assumed it was my rotator cuff at first, or maybe a repetitive strain injury as I have always lived a highly physical lifestyle, from dance, to yoga, to swimming, and hiking. It never healed though, it got worse and worse and worse and my life over the next 2 years shrunk to lying on a bolster and attempting to breathe my way through the hurt. My work was severely impacted, my social life was impacted, my sleep was disrupted- every movement would make me cry out. I became convinced my collar bone wasn't in joint. Everything I did to ease the discomfort in my shoulder, only made it worse. I went for massage, I gently stretched it, went to physio., acupuncture, sports rehab. I had cortisone injections, prescription pain killers, topicals and muscle relaxants. So much time and so much money and nothing helped. The doctors I went to would focus on my shoulder joint despite the now obvious protrusion and swelling around my clavicular joint. I was really frustrated and disheartened when I first came To Dr. Pat. In our first meeting though, near the end, he took a moment and it seemed to me he was setting an intention to get me healed up. So I decided to 'suspend my disbelief' and commit to 3 months. Right away, Dr. Pat took X-rays and even I could clearly see my neck did not look right. So we committed to a plan that had me adjusted 3*week for 3 months in Dr. Pat's office. He would adjust my first rib, neck and collar bone along with everything else. My mild lower back pain began to disappear and my range of motion in my hips improved. My shoulder, though, took it's sweet time. Nearing the end of our 3 month plan and with loads of improvement everywhere else but less so in my shoulder I began to wonder if this was simply my new life. It was better then it was, I was able to sleep through the night and I was off all the meds, maybe my yoga and dance days were done. In Dec of 2019 though, my collar bone didn't just 'click' or even 'clunk' into place, it THUDDED into place. The sound was deafening and I remember my eyes popping open and both Dr. Pat and I went: 'I think that was it'. Immediately the pain was gone and miracles of miracles I can lift my arm all the way over my head without any pain whatsoever. I'm back to my yoga practice and am eager to go back to dancing and swimming, the only thing stopping me is this whole pandemic thing. Dr. Pat is invested and he listens. He was the only professional who upon hearing that my suspicion it was my collar bone, actually looked at my collar bone! I'm so grateful I invested my time, energy and finances and am even more grateful I can lift my arm above my head again!

I was in a car accident a couple months ago and even though I have been seeing other (very helpful) professionals I was unable to get rid of chronic headaches and a misaligned jaw. Was surprised to have to set up the room yourself. Been to other places that charge less for greater services. Staff and doc were very friendly and good atmosphere. Dr. is very knowledgeable and walks you through everything even if it ends up all being an effort to get you to sign up for far too many appointments (of course you don't have to do the program they offer). Overall I have had a mediocre experience compared to the three other chiropractic businesses I've had over the years.

I have been going to the clinic since 2019. I first saw Justin to treat muscle stiffness due to my sedentary job. Since I started treatment with Justin I have not seen any other RMT. He listens to my massage needs, will treat each need separately and for as long as needed. After every session my muscles feel renewed and ready to tackle full days of work or heavy workouts. This year, I started seeing Dr Patrick to help me with my spine. I was sedentary for about 2 months due to mental health and this really took a toll on my body. I've been so grateful to Dr. Patrick for helping me feel a little better every week I see him. After a few weeks of treatment my pain level went from an 8 to about a 3 (5 on a bad day) My posture has improved and mobility has gotten so much better. At the same time I started meeting with Sydney for acupuncture once a week as an addition treatment along with chiro. Sydney has been helping with migraines, depression and muscle stiffness around lower back and shoulders. The results have been amazing since week one. I will never forget when she release my neck and my immediate reaction was "Wow". I could not believe how loose and relaxed my muscle felt. I won't get tired of recommending this clinic and all their practitioners to everyone I know!

Before I started seeing Dr. Pat a sneeze would bring me to my knees. A simple act of standing up or sitting down was scary for me because one small wrong move would have me in tears because my low back would do whatever it did to hit a huge pain point. Since going for regular adjustments I have come a long way from where I was! I’ve had these issues most of my life, and regular chiropractic care has helped me live pain free. Just two visits, I feel like new again ???? Pretty much all of my chronic pain is gone - and we just started the course of treatment! Before starting treatment, Dr Maguire performed a variety of tests to figure out what exactly I need help with. Hi there, my name is Stephanie. I recently met Dr Mcguire at the Home And Garden Show. I was in a couple bad motor vehicle accidents back in 2010 and have been dealing with chronic pain in my back and other places since then. TLDR: Dr. Pat can also adjust knees, elbows, wrists, etc. Very good. You should go. I know - another LONNNG review telling you how wonderful Dr. Pat is. I get it. If you read this review - I swear I don't work there....just want to share some really good experiences. I've been going to Dr. Pat for over 3 years now to help me fix YEARS of poor posture from when I was a teen. Nothing but good things to say about him and his team as evident in the other reviews. However - DID YOU KNOW that Dr. Pat can also adjust your elbows and knees (and wrists etc... you get the idea)? First time I had wrist pain (likely from holding my baby at the time), I thought it was carpal tunnel or needed a wrist guard because I had heard other moms with the same issue, and a quick adjustment by Dr. Pat helped me fix the issue and it never came back. This also happened with my elbow and knees (different times, just random tightness and pain as I later found out caused by inflammation due to misalignment), and he also adjusted them when I went to get my spine adjusted. Pain went away. Also DID YOU KNOW that he is also trained to do adjustments on pregnant women? I went to Dr. Pat all the time throughout my first pregnancy, and it really helped with the back pain (both during pregnancy and postpartum - especially postpartum because your body pretty much feels like goop). If you were also wondering, he is also trained to adjust babies - and I've seen many moms bring their kids in.

I have received chiropractic treatment for years for chronic pain, where the activator was used. Upon commencement at the Mount Royal Village Family Chiropractic, Dr. Pat had respected my wishes to continue with the activator, despite his clinical advise that the manual treatment may be more effective. After multiple treatments, Dr. Pat was right, as with the activator, I felt no change and the chronic pain remained. With Dr. Pat's encouragement and great support, I switched to manual. I am happy to say that even after a few treatments, I feel less chronic pain and am more reenergized. I initially went to see Dr. Pat for treatment of an old injury in my upper back that was causing constant tension headaches, made it difficult to breathe, and was preventing me from getting any sleep. I was also about 14 weeks pregnant when I started seeing him, and had been experiencing some hip dysfunction from about 6-7 weeks in my pregnancy, which was causing a limp and prevented me from being able to lift my legs from a seated position. I'm now 20 weeks, and the upper back pain has diminished so much that I'm no longer getting headaches, have near full range of motion in my neck, and have no issues sleeping at night. My hip/round ligament pain has also improved to the point I don't really notice it anymore. I have gone for acupuncture at the clinic as well which I believe has also aided with my sleep, and hip & upper back pain. I'm looking forward to continuing treatment for the rest of my pregnancy in the hopes that labour will be made a bit smoother and easier. Update: I found out at 32 weeks that my baby was breech. I knew it was too early to be too concerned, but wanted to get in front of it and do what I could to help my baby turn. I saw Dr. Pat for three Webster’s technique sessions, and at 34 weeks was told my baby had flipped! I’m confident the Webster’s sessions helped my baby change positions as there was a huge difference in my broad ligament from session to session. It started quite tense in one spot especially and completely relaxed by the 3rd appointment.

I've had great experience with Dr. Pat and Mount Royal Village Family Chiropractic! He and his staff are very friendly and personable. I met Dr. Pat at the Health and Wellness show at the beginning of March 2020. At that time I didnt think I needed a chiropractor, and that the knots in my back were unavoidable and were due to working at a desk 5 days per week. I've seen a few chiropractors in my life, so far Dr Pat had been the best. I decided to try Dr Pat because of a chronic pain in my leg that was not getting better at another chiropractor. He has fixed my problem and my posture is better. Everyone is so friendly and they are always able to get you in when in need. :)

It was just great. I have to tell everyone the long story. My 60-year old mother has been suffering from a minor motor accident for almost 15 years. After seeing numerous medical doctors, physiotherapists and specialists telling her "It's just mental stress" or "Painkiller will make you feel better and you may get healed over time" she accepted the pain and suffering as part of her life. She was very reluctant to come here, as she didn't believe anything could help her. After the first visit, she was even more reluctant to come - because she wasn't treated for anything at the first visit. We went through thorough examinations of varying tests, but no real treatment was given until we could get X-ray to confirm the problems. However I was more convinced exactly because of this, realizing that Dr. Maguire was not just those who give random bone-cracking exercise to anybody for the relief. Today, after the first treatment of 10 minutes, I was shocked to see her burst into tears, hugging Dr. Maguire because the low back pain was gone. Of course, this is just beginning and we haven't even started treating other problems she has. But finally after 15 years of pain and suffering, we see some light at the end of the tunnel. It may not be the cure for all the problems, but I believe it's worth the visit - at least you may find out what kind of problems you have. Everyone here was very kind and helpful. Dr. Maguire was very thorough with his explanation on what was the problem and how he was going to address the problem. Anything bad? Well, it wasn't easy to find the place. It was easy to find the building, but there was no sign leading to the office - if you are a patient with difficulties in walking, you may not like it too much.

Shortly after I found out I started going to Dr. Pat where he reassured me from day one that he could make the chronic pain better if not gone. A year and a half later he was right. Dr. Pat has been providing chiropractic care on my back for some months with great results. Last week was different...I went for a 20 km hike on Sunday, and by my scheduled appointment on the following Tuesday evening I came hobbling in with my ankle feeling like it had been sprained and the pain climbing up into my knee. I mentioned this to Dr. Pat and he said, "Well let's try adjusting the ankle." I had no idea this was even possible, but the results were nothing short of amazing. I came into Dr. Patrick experiencing soreness and pain through my back and hips. He was very thorough with his initial consult to find the best way to help me. I've been coming to him now for almost 3 weeks as well as the massage therapist in the same office and I feel better then I have in years. Yesterday I went to the driving range, my first time going since getting adjustments and I couldn't be happier with the results. My irons were reaching yards I've never seen before and after about 150 balls I feel no pain today. Highly recommend this clinic if you want to be the best version of you. Where do I start with how amazing Dr. Pat is!! When I first scheduled my consultation with him I could Hardly bend/walk without lower back pain and spasms (something was seriously out of line). As a mother of 2 small children being active and mobile isn’t optional. After a very thorough exam a treatment plan was presented and I made the decision to follow through. I’m in the end stages of treatment now, and all I can say is wow! I sleep better, bend and move without pain, leading to an overall better mood. Dr. Pat and his team are truly genuine and caring. Great massage! Super deep! Worked out my tough back muscles that feel like cement. I couldn't find parking so I came a little late, but he rushed me in so I could spend the most time getting a massage rather than the paper work.

I have always been skeptical of seeing a Chiropractor as I am an extremely nervous person and growing up only heard about the negative effects. I have also been suffering from sinus infections, digestive problems, as well as depression and anxiety for over 15 years. I've been having neck issues for several years and I became a bit of a YouTube Nerd when it came to adjustments and chiropractic treatment. I tried several chiropractors to help me, but there wasn't any lasting effects. I always felt they were avoiding my neck and focusing on more of my symptoms than my problems. I Googled gonstead Chiropractic and learned a lot about it and found dr. Maguire on the internet. In that one adjustment he made more impact on my problem then any of the other chiropractors that worked on me. Right from the start I knew dr. McGuire knew what he was talking about and his adjustments have made a tremendous impact on my daily routines. I would highly recommend dr. Dr. Patrick always says, "Let's turn on your power" and that is literally what he does. After each session with him I leave the clinic feeling taller and having more energy. I too suffer from headaches, but since starting therapy at Mount Royal Village Family Chiropractic I've only had a handful of headaches, too minor to notice or count. I have what is called an 'old lady hump', however I feel that hump behind my neck disappear more and more with each session, it is really awesome! Dr. Patrick is very gentle, in tune with what you need and how you are feeling, which makes for a very positive and relaxed visit. If you haven't tried Chiro before definitely give it a try!!

I am 6 months pregnant and started experiencing side and back pain for the first time in my pregnancy, after 12 hours straight of severe agony my husband and I went to the hospital. I was sent home from emergency with no understanding of why the pain was so severe and constant. When we left the hospital I was mortified, if they couldn't help me who could? This is a great location on 17th Ave! As a person who has experienced several traumatic injuries head to toe I was running out of options .
