I call J&L catering for work events/meetings/productions all the time. As soon as I know I need catering they are the first phone call I make to ensure I can book them before they're busy. They offer the best selection of catered food, it tastes like it's made with love at home, and is always so so fresh and healthy. Their granola and yuzu yogurt is to die for!!!

The experience that Dan and his staff provided at our executive backyard dinner party was above and beyond exceptional. Delicious is not a strong enough word to describe this food. Days later and people are still raving about everything that Dan put together on a custom menu for us - especially the cod. They managed to create an atmosphere that was welcoming and casual but also sophisticated all at the same time. I can't wait for our next event so we can hire them again! In the meantime I'll just have to become a regular for Sunday brunch :)

After eating at over 200 breakfast brunch eateries we tend to have expectations. Sometimes it’s feels like we’ve seen it all. This morning’s South African brunch experience pleasantly surprised us. From the cosy communal seating to its decor and obviously its menu, it’s not your usual peak brunch destination. Highlights: Baked eggs with charred onions, goat cheese and matbucha as well a the honey mustard breakfast sausages had us going for seconds! A truly unique #peakbrunch

I had my 21st birthday party and it was above and beyond expectations in terms of food and overall experience!! I had catered the burrata cheese salad, beef tenderloin with chimichurri sauce and Dan's special lemon meringue and fruit dessert...all things were to die for!!! We were allowed to bring our own alcohol and more dessert. We were a group of 17 people and it was a bit squishy so I would recommend keeping a party under 15 people max. Overall It was an amazing night with the yummiest and tastiest food I've had in Toronto!

A little overpriced and depending on who is working, the service isn't great. I wasn't impressed. If I'm going to spend $10 for a coffee and a muffin, i don't want to be ignored for 10 minutes and treated like a nuisance. The coffee is good and so was the snack but i won't be back

Un.. Believeable the best breakfast I've ever eaten in my 47 living years the breakfast burrito is the bomb. I wish I could live in the shed across from this place so I could eat here everyday. The banana tahini muffin was an explosion of flavors in my mouth. Like Guy Fieri says YOU GOTTA EAT HERE!! two thumbs up.

I discovered Jack and Lil's when going for Sunday brunch. The staff was delightful and the food was amazing!!!! The space itself felt so cozy and intricate...I'm absolutely in love with the design. I am an event coordinator and recommended Jack and Lil's catering to my client for her rustic backyard wedding for 168 guests. Not only was the food perfect for the style of the wedding but the service and the food tasted delicious! We were able to accommodate vegan, gluten free, vegetarians, and meat lovers! I interacted mainly with Dan the owner and chef. He was friendly, and had a huge part in helping my clients create the perfect menu. I highly highly recommend this place for brunch and catering.

Found a little gem in the hood, that I didn’t know existed until I saw they sandwich board on St Clair today! Amazing breakfast burrito, great coffee, and a super tasty vegan peanut butter Blondie! Will definitely be back to try some more treats.

Super homey and cozy environment, feels like walking into somebody’s kitchen. We really enjoyed the variety of the food, they have unique ingredients and flavours, presented in a very vibrant and colourful way. Our favourite dishes are Malva Pudding, hashed potatoes and Brussels Sprouts, sausages, guava yoghurt. Will come again!

Jack and Lil's catered our Annual Client Event and it was perfect. Food and service were amazing. Crunchy peanut slaw was or fav but miso ginger salmon and lemon meringue semifreddo so good too. Will definitely use them again next year. Thank you !!

HOLY F. Over the past two days, thanks to some generous catering, I had the pleasure of eating a Zucchini Muffin, House Yoghurt Parfait, a "Jack in a Box" with 48hr Herbed-Honey-Mustard Grilled Chicken Thighs; Green Beans in Malay Dressing with Golden Raisins, Almonds, Aleppo Pepper; Mixed Greens with Tomato, Shallot, Feta, Pumpkin Seeds, Smokey Kumquat Vin; Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges in House Aioli; AND a Chocolate Chunk Cookie. Everything was perfect!!!! I have never experienced better catering in 15 years of advertising and film. They make simple AMAZING. I'm honestly astonished. If only we could get small places like this into the places where big film caterers have been slacking off for years <3

Unreal. So delicious and fresh. Got the banana tahini muffin, sesame brittle bar and tofu buddha bowl. The muffin was AMAZING, so was the richness of the brittle bar and the fresh perfectly balanced flavours of the buddha bowl topped everything off. Highly recommend

Jack and Lil's is unassuming and charming. I first visited J&L because I was curious with the back alley serving. I am so happy I stopped as this is now my regular stop for a snack to improve my day! Stop what you are doing and go visit Jack and Lil's for their Banana Tahini Muffin! This is an unreal muffin! If you are looking for something a little more substantial; their frittatas are also really good! I am at the point where I will always get a muffin if I am walking past their cute alley.

The best Sunday brunch is found here! Try the vegan Banana Tahini muffin w/coffee..???????? The service at Jack & Lil's is excellent and the staff are very friendly! This South African gem was a bit of a challenge to locate. There is a Jack & Lil A-Frame sign near the rear laneway entrance.

Absolutely lovely little spot. The smell of whatever they're baking from day to day is enough to get me there! They have breakfast and lunch options, plus a plethora of baked goods. Their lunch options are fresh and delicious. The shop is a bit hidden (It's in the alley behind the Subway restaurant), but it's worth hunting until you find it!

A local hidden gem! This place has the absolute best gluten free baked goods I’ve ever had (and some of the best baked goods overall in the area!). The chocolate chip cookie honestly brings joy and their muffins are creative and delicious. Coffee is great, especially the cold brew! Most definitely worth a visit- you won’t stop coming back :)

Few spots in Toronto can beat their breakfast sandwich. Saucy, buttery, crispy, salty, and substantial...just delicious. Cold brew is smooth and balanced (not too bitter). You definitely feel like a proper local when you go here. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

UR Enough

Jack and Lil's catered our UR Enough Campaign that we shot last week and they were fabulous!! First of all they were incredibly easy to work with. They helped us out with all dietary restrictions. We had 25 people that we were feeding on set that day, and every single person absolutely loved their lunch. It was healthy, hearty and delicious! Everyone came back after lunch with amazing energy to continue the day. We would highly recommend hiring Jack and Lil's for your next shoot!! They will not disappoint.

Jack and Lil's has an amazing Sunday brunch. It's as if your South African grandmother decided to cook all Saturday night and put out this ridiculously amazing spread for Sunday brunch in the morning. It's a buffet style deal with communal seating and the food is unreal. There's, of course, a mix of eggs usually prepared some cool way, sausage, bacon - all awesome...staple things like that. But then there are other dishes that I simply don't even know the names of. One tasted like a cinnamon bun, the other was like a yiddish kugel. There's awesome seed breads, spreads, salads, yogurt, granola. I could go on but you'd be better off if you dropped in between 10am-2pm this Sunday. I will most likely be there.

Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. The crème brûlée french toast was my favorite. I would gladly recommend this place to anyone, but the recommendation would come with a small warning. Be ready to spend because it was surprisingly expensive. A small blemish for an otherwise wonderful experience.

Wonderful people to deal with. Organized and respectful while maintaining an upbeat attitude. The food is very very good and prepared in the exact right quantities (with a tiny smidge extra - yay!). My husband and I love the choices and varieties of foods. Always thoughtfully and creatively done. The chicken dishes are consistently tender and flavourful and a recent order of short ribs was exceptional. Considering all that goes into running a food establishment like this, we feel the pricing is very reasonable. Jack and Lil's is a blessing for us that came out of Covid19 and we will continue to order and enjoy when the 'after times' finally come.

Really well done, flavourful and wholesome dishes! Highly recommend, it is the highlight of my week when I can go for brunch. Plus it’s one of the rare places in town you can get to try South African food. Pro tip: Do NOT forget to get banana tahini muffins for home. I developed an absolute fascination and somewhat of an addiction for these... and no, you - nor any other chef for that matter - cannot make this at home. Trust me, we tried... many times.
