A bit on the pricey side but that's what you can you expect from White Rock. I had the Uli burger 2.0 and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. My sister ordered the fish and chips and the standout from that dish was definitely the tarter sauce; it was amazing. I'll definitely be coming back

Food was good although a little pricy. Waitress did not coordinate our orders. Appetizers came in 2 minutes before the main course came.(Defeats the purpose of ordering Appetizers) Offered very little if any apology. Blamed it on the kitchen staff. Not sure that I will go back again.

One of my favourite restaurants ever! High quality ingredients, friendly staff and a great view. They choose fair trade organic ingredients which I love. They even grow their own fruits and vegetables for their condiments!

He's a great little restaurant on the beach in White Rock. They have great beers on tap and a pretty solid wine selection as well. Great for brunch or nice intimate dinners.

Went here for my birthday. They were super accommodating for my large family (including two toddlers) considering the size of the restaurant. Great views, great atmosphere, great service. The staff was awesome. The food was amazing. We shared a bunch on their appies to start. For my entree I got the duck, which was falling off the bone and full of flavour. For dessert we shared two of their cakes which were so unique and delicious. The only (minor) thing I have to complain about are the sides that came with the entrees, were mediocre and not very good. I couldn't even finish them. Wilted greens? No thanks. I can't wait to find an occasion to come back and try some other yummy items on the menu!

Location was nice, beautiful view of the beach and water. Service was good. Prices were high. Ordered focaccia and they brought soda bread instead. Hubby ordered schnitzel, I found it a little dry, there was no sauce. Restaurant was busy. We were seated right by the front door which was constantly opened and it felt like a gale force wind was coming in. The restaurant was nicely decorated, clean and it was very busy.

The hill on the way down to front street there is going to give me nightmares for awhile but other than that it was a good day. Area gets super busy so make sure to make a reservation.

All these years of being in South Surrey and I finally made it to Uli’s! Wow! Their 9.0 Burger was a 10/10! The deep fried pickles were hot and sensational! I own a B&B three blocks behind Uli’s and I shall be sending my guests their way! Well done!

This is our favorite place in White Rock as it has a bit more edge and sophistication than most eateries here. I ordered the veggie burger and it was delicious. The fries are a bit too thin for my taste but overall the food and service has always been great here.

Still one of the best places in town. Burgers are always good. The Ragu was fantastic tonight. We keep coming back because the servers are fantastic. The view is impeccable and if by chance anything is ever off, they will make it right immediately. When you eat here you are fed well and treated even better. You can tell you are appreciated at this local eatery!

Yes, the burgers are great - the reason we, like most people, tried Uli's in the first place. But on this our third visit, we decided to try "the food". The schnitzel was absolutely incredible, especially with the speatzle. And at $19 on Wednesday, a steal! I would have paid $29. The other dish we ordered was the gnocchi (seasonal?). I can't rave enough. Besides the ham, rich sauces and the gnocchi itself (to perfection!), the coup de grâce was the wild, freshly-picked yellow morel mushrooms. And not just one or two -- a whole bunch of them mixed in with the heavenly (but rich) gnocchi. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes

I am usually very satisfied with my order at Uli's. Unfortunately I was terribly unsatisfied with the Risotto dish on the new menu on 27/07/2019. When my friends tasted it, they all agreed as well that the garlic in it was very overpowering and it seemed to have been added to it uncooked. I did report it to the server and told her to report it to the Chef but, I doubt she did that. I hope the management removes it from the menu or the Chef does it differently.

It was supposed to be a great day, celebrating fathers day with my dad, my husband and my kids, till we arrived in this restaurant. I called them early in the morning before they even open then I spoke to a lady (didn't got her name ) and I asked if its necessary to make a reservation specially there's 6 of us, the lady said they are full however, there's a great chance that we can be seated at the outside tables, which is on the street tables. She specifically told me that they DO NOT accept reservation on their street tables as it is only for walk ins. So we went there and early, then we spoke to a guy ( not sure of he's the manager!), then he told us that they actually need reservation on those tables I explained to him what the lady told me. He apologized for their mistake and promised us that he will give us a call once a table is vacant around 30 to 35 min. We agreed to wait, so we walk around after about 45min we went back and saw a vacant table and he said we should wait for another 35 min. We've waited again and hia promise of calling us never happened. Its so frustrating that despite the fact that they knew they told me the wrong information they didn't do anything to make it right. The guy even promise us that he will call us but he never did! So disappointed! Very unprofessional!

We were looking for a good place to eat to round out a wonderful day out with our mother and baby girl. The reviews for Uli's looked good so we gave it a chance and it was simply excellent. The service was incredible. My steak arrived absolutely perfect but I was feeding the baby and it went cold. The chef happened to be walking around and my husband asked if there was a way to warm it back up. The chef himself said he would be glad to warm it up himself and when he brought it back, not only was the steak absolutely perfect but they had replaced my cold frites with fresh ones. Our server was extremely accommodating and brought several cups of hot water so we could warm up my daughter's bottle and baby food. We felt completely welcome and completely comfortable in this very nice, efficient and cozy restaurant. The food was just excellent - we had fish and chips and steak frites and peanut butter cheesecake - just amazing. I added a photo to show that when we ordered one dessert and three spoons, they brought 3 adult forks and a baby sized fork! So sweet of them to include the baby even if she is too young for it! A huge plus was how gluten-free-friendly it is as I have several relatives and friends with gluten free diets and we will definitely go back again!

Burger was excellent. Almond flour cake was superb. Bison Carpaccio is good but I would suggest asking for less capers as they put quite a few on which elevates the saltiness. Service was good. Not to fast or slow. Just right. Water was filled promptly all the time. I would come back which I rarely do at restaurants. Oct 30 2021 Update Tried the Easy Mac. Get a bit of extra sauce on the side. Add on if desired. It will taste what a big mac should taste like.

The quality of the food was all over the place; the vongole pasta was too bland and the sandwich was too salty. We were disappointed in the presentation of the grilled caesar, and when we told the manager, he had the audacity to tell us that it was a "shame" that we didn't like it and that we should try it next time (to be fair, he did take it off the bill) The waitress was really nice, but the food quality and manager's words were very questionable.

I read the reviews and had to try this place myself. Arrived at 6 with a reservation and was promptly seated on the patio. We ordered the 2.0 burger and Calamari. Chose to get it cooked medium (this is the key). This was the best burger I've had. I just returned from Las Vegas and had the Gordon Ramsey burger, and this was better.. much better. Cocktails were also on point. Their Moscow mule was perfect.

Very unpleasant dining experience, overpriced mediocre tasting food, rude staff, watered down drinks. I made reservations one month in advance for my boyfriend's birthday, at 6pm on Saturday. We arrived on time and one of the servers told us that "our table wasn't ready" and told us to sit in the so called "heated patio". The patio was barely heated, I was shivering and they did nothing to check up on us. They just asked us if we wanted to order drinks. We ordered 2 drinks. My cocktail, the painkiller, tasted very watered down and it was falsely advertised as having 2.5 oz of spirits, however , it tastes more like watered down juice. I was unable to taste any hint of alcohol, and for $14 , I was expecting much more. I then asked the server about our table. Our server, the blonde woman, told us that " the reservations before you came in late and so your table isn't ready", in a very condescending tone with an annoyed facial expression. She made it seem like it was my fault that the table was late for their reservations. She then told us that if we ordered the appetizer, that it would "be on us". Fine . Then we waited another 30 mins, in the freezing cold and our server finally brought us to our table. We were seated and we ordered our entrees. The male server (the younger one), delivered our meals and he asked me if "there was anything else I that I needed?". I told him just some more napkins please. He never brought it over. Surprise, surprise ! We were ignored the whole night and we even had to flag down our waitress for the bill. All the servers were inattentive, except for the water person, who did a good job topping off our water. All the other staff made us feel like we were unwanted there. Our server and the man who sat us outside were unwelcoming, unfriendly and distant . When I paid, our server asked if I was going to use card, I said yes. I paid for my bill using my debit card, but the waitress was standing right beside me, while I was punching in my numbers the whole entire time, which I thought was both strange and rude, and it felt like she was invading my privacy. My forester schnitzel was a huge portion, but it was virtually tasteless and chewy, it was not tender at all. The pork needed more salt and something acidic. The mashed potatoes was although creamy, was very bland tasting. The best part of the dish was the red cabbage. I was expecting more, since they have been in business for more than 30 years along the white rock strip. I understand that restaurants now have to take extra time and precautions to clean and sanitize, which I totally understand and I am fine about, but to wait for 30 mins for a confirmed reservation is ridiculous. The food and drinks were overpriced and mediocre tasting. Servers were inattentive and rude. There are far better restaurants out there. So much for supporting local. Avoid this place!

Amazing atmosphere, the patio has a great view and lots of heaters so you can sit there even over winter. The food is amazing, we had pasta and a burger there and everything was really good. The service was even better, the staff seem to really enjoy working there and have fun as they are working, the owner was there upon our visit and he is a very friendly and personable person and took the time to get to know us and share some laughs. Will definitely go back it was a very good experience.

Tried Uli's for a second time and was very disappointed. The main course special ran out of the veg and the size cut. When we received our meals the meat was tough! Worse steak I've had in years! The manager though did make it right and took the meals off the bill and offered us to get another meal, coffees and dessert on the house.cheesecake was amazing, drinks great and lots of beer options - but when you're main course is a letdown it sinks the experience. Unfortunate this happened and they did work to make it right but I think we will be trying another location next time.

Great location on the white Rock strip. A meal with a view, not much more you could ask for. We came here for national cheeseburger day and they did not dissapoint. Meat is brought in daily and you can definitely taste the freshness and quality of the meat. The burgers were so juicy and flavorful paired with the shoe string fries was perfect. Fries were super crispy and well seasoned. Did not have that old fryer oil taste.

The food is always SO GOOD. I don't think I've ever came here and got bad food or service! Try their shoe string fries seriously 10/10, bohemian salad, the Rockefeller oyster (baked oyster) .. and basically everything else is a must try! You will not be disappointed by anything on their menu. (At least i wasn't) they also have a patio overlooking the pier which is perfect for a sunny day. I have yet to try their dessert but the pictures look awesome! Can't wait to come back here again

Okay way beyond 5 star wonderful experience received right from the introduction all the way through by all staff and management. Being a pet friendly patio makes a huge difference and we realize staff has keep close attention to detail to maintain professional balance with all the other guests which they do an excellent job at. Both Hailey and Dean looked after us and made sure that our dining experience was very memorable and pleasant. We will definitely return along with telling friends and family about this beautiful restaurant.

With the White Rock Pier being repaired and reopened, after a day down in South Surrey it was decided dinner and a sunset after a walk on the pier was in order. Uli's has long perched above the start of the pier. It hosts a scratch kitchen with lically sourced produce. We went on burger night and the chef served up some truly mouth-watering burgers. The servers were charming, knowledgable and engaging. I opted for the spicy hot 7.0, while my parents chose the Uli's Original. Shoestring fries on 2, a Large Caesar salad on the other. Oktoberfest for this month, some quality German style beers or a tangy root beer as beverages. While a bit pricey, the quality of the meals made it money well spent, happily spent and food even more happily devoured.

Went here for an anniversary party where we had half the place reserved. The power went out and the kitchen was unable to cook, but for 2 hours the staff still made appies that they could, served drinks and took care of us with candles and battery operated lights. The staff were awesome, the service was great, and everyone still had a really great time.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday. Overall was a nice experience with a pleasant view and good coffee, but felt the price was high for the quality of the food(over $21 for a basic Eggs Benedict), and we were kind of made to feel like an inconvenience for not having a reservation rather than being welcomed.

Great restaurant with a nice patio/view and great service. Location does not get too much car noise. It has a great view of the pier and the water. Hostess was very friendly and kept refilling our water. Very laid back atmosphere. Food was average. Most entrees are $30+ and quality is not there. Steak was ok, tasty but with hard pieces. Veggies were under cooked and bland. Breaded fish was fish and chips was dark, almost over cooked. Presentation is good and attention to detail.

Food was amazing. So much flavour. We ordered the short rib ragu and mushroom risotto. I could not pick a favourite. The portions are great, you get quite a bit and it's super filling. The dessert was alright. I forget what the dessert was called and they don't have the dessert menu online. I think the strawberry topping is too sweet and the entire thing just tasted alright. I feel like if maybe it were fresh strawberries it would be better as the custard and the French toast is so sweet already. Overall great experience. The servers were very attentive and friendly and we didn't have any issues there. Highly recommend trying it. I would definitely come back.

This bar/restaurant was excellent at dealing successfully with my allergies to gluten, dairy and other foods. My dining partners also really enjoyed the quality of the entirely scratch-made foods. Service was quite good considering the size of our party, and they were quick to respond to requests. The only issue I had was that it was really noisy and the parking was extremely hard to find.

Oh man, where to start? This was the best burger I've ever had. A friend suggested it and we went out to Whiterock. The Burger is cooked as you like it is super juicy and the sauce is full of flavor. The fries are things cut and we're perfect (I normally don't like fries) and the salad with it was a solid salad. Old definitely recommend stopping by for a Burger. It's a little pricy for 2 people but definitely worth it.

My only issue was we got sat next to a very loud person and her dog Rosè which I didn't realize dogs were allowed in restaurants. The location adds up to whatever experience you have in Uli’s. In summer, in patio, overlooking the ocean, classic cars passing by, and weather all create a unique day. At weekends, you might have parking problem, but there is one beside the restaurant (Martin st.). The servers are really friendly and considerate. They recommend trying burgers as one of the best, so either do I. ???? The brunch is really good and I recommend Uli’s breakfast. Your only bread option is Rye which is good, but sourdough would be good if they had. ???? The burgers are also good choices and their dishes of burgers are almost similar in shape. ???? The corned beef hash has its own sauce and different taste which is a decent option to try. ☕️ The coffee tasted like average, but it works beside your breakfast or brunch. If you go there in summer, which is hot and the sun shines really strong, go for a splash pad on the other side and enjoy its super cool water beforehand, otherwise, sitting in patio under the table shade could be intolerable. Go for it and enjooooooy!

Uli's is the best pub/resteraunt in Surrey White Rock hands down. The 2.0 Burger is delicious and my go to order...until that is, I discovered their secret menu! Now I have to plan on trips back for 3.0 to 8.0 and more that I may not be aware of. The beers on tap are rotating and of a decent selection, bottled offers a few more. The service is attentive but casual, the patio is heated and the location gives views of the pier and water.

First time here was a disaster. About 2 years ago. They butchered my wife and I’s order. The burger came back very pink the first time so we asked them to recook it. Both came back link again. I asked for mine to be recooked my wife gave up and just picked at the cooked parts. Mine finally came back well done and tasted fine. Through a random series of recent events, Uli’s caught wind of this initial experience we had and offered to make it right (nothing was done at the time) by giving us a gift card to come back. We ordered take out last night (a 2.0 burger and a 4.0 burger). I preferred the 2.0 and my wife preferred the 4.0 but both of them were in the top 3 burgers we’ve both ever had. They were amazing. So glad Uli’s reached out to make things right even if it was years later. Truly 5 stars!

I live in Whiterock and ulis is always my go to spot. I find a lot of the places on the beach think that they’re food doesn’t have to be amazing since they have a wonderful view, however ulis has done nothing but impress me! The bohemian salad is my go to! They’re dishes are more expensive than other restaurants however I must stress It’s sooo worth it. If I’m not mistaken everything there is made from scratch no Sysco premade BS. the past couple times I’ve been there have been particularly amazing. My server the first time was Steph and trust me I remember that name for a reason. Every time I’ve been in there since she greets me with a smile, treating me as though she has known me her whole life. She’s extremely knowledgeable, kind and efficient. The most recent times I have went there Jenna has been our server. I came in with a group of friends and it was about 5 mins before the kitchen closed however she made us feel welcome offering whatever we might want. She made our experience better! I felt as though she really wanted to be there and was enjoying her time with us. You could tell she really tried to connect and make every table she served happy! If you’re ever in the white rock area you must check this place out. Ulis is worth every penny you pay!

IF I COULd GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR RATING I WOULD HAVE! I am so disappointed in my experience on Thursday May 9/19. My daughter and I arrived at Ulis at approximately 8:20(I know this based on a time stamped photo I took) we were seated on the patio it took sometime before the waiter finally came over maybe 5-10 minutes. We were very hungry so we order our drinks and food at the same time, we ordered a liter of red sangria, white wine and garlic mussels and grilled Caesar salad.after about 10 minutes my daughter and I both commented where is our sangria, my daughter said well our waiter has been chatting with that table inside this whole time, so we figured he forgot. My daughter than looked over towards the bar and said maybe that sangria sitting on the bar is ours, shortly after our food arrived, the mussels were lukewarm over cooked and dry and the Caesar salad was only dressed on one half, we had a few bites and began contemplating just getting our bill and going elsewhere to eat, and than the waiter showed up with our sangria at least a half hour or more after we ordered it and a good ten minutes after our food showed up, I told him we no longer wanted it he seemed shocked. Minutes later a young woman dame to our table and said she was the bartender and she was so very sorry, I started to tell her it was not her fault as I gate making people feel bad, but then I thought no I'm paying a lot of money for terrible food and bad service. So I told her no it is your fault this is outrageous and I don't need your insincere apology bring our bill now we are leaving. We waited five minutes she never returned so we left $40.00 cash on the table and went elsewhere and ate. This is the 6th time in the past year we have been here the first 3 times food was great, and service was good, 4th time we showed up we were told they were closed even though there were 6 tables and it was 8:30 on a Thursday and google says open till 10pm and website just says "till late", the 5th time the waitress forgot half out order and was terrible, and now this. I will not be returning. I have been working in the hospitality in dusty for 20 plus years, I have been a server,bartender, general manager, owner and presently I am the accountant for a hospitality group. When I'm paying $25 for mussels and $12 for Caesar salad I expect that the food and service would be better. Shame on the owners and management, you need to do better! If you are looking for great mussels check out crescent beach.

Went there for my mom's birthday. We ordered steamed muscles, vongole, and paella. We went there because with good review. Steamed muscles and clams didnt taste fresh. They said they use white wine and pepper but i dont think they used white wine... And vongole had too much garlic that was overpowering the flavour of clams. Clams in vongole didnt get washed properly. it was way too grainy that even pasta was grainy. We had to send vongole back and ordered fish and chips and a burger to go. Fish and chips were not fresh and ended up going into a garbage. Not worth money and the restaurant is definitely overrated. Don't think I'll go again.

Food was excellent and even though we were only one of 2 tables in there, did not feel rushed plus the kitchen shut at 10pm!

This is one of the best restaurants in white rock/ south Surrey. The burgers are fantastic, you must try the homemade ketchup. Craft beer selection is great and the staff are pretty knowledgeable about beer if you aren’t sure what to get. Went to Uli's for lunch with a yen for seafood. I was a bit disappointed of the minimal amount of seafood items on the menu, but I did select the appetizer crab cakes. The crab cakes were absolutely amazing, made with real crab. There serving was small and a bit pricy but the quality justified the price. My ceasar salad was lightly grilled and so good. The dressing was not the usual garlicly cream glop but rather a tangy lighter dressing, topped by the real freshly shaved parmesan cheese. Simply the best ceasar salad that I have had in years. My friend ordered oysters Rockefeller and states that Uli's do it the best. A bit of a pricy lunch but so worth it.

And also split a paella between us. Words can not do it justice about just how good the food was. Service was good too, staff was nice and timely. Also great views to be had if you can get the patio seats. Definitely will come back and try the other menu items!

It was our first time at Ulis last evening. The food was excellent and so was the service. We had booked a table at 8pm and while booking, we were told that each table can hold a place for 90 minutes max and we thought it was absolutely fair and fine to say that. In this current pandemic time, it makes sense to be accommodating and understanding towards other guests as well. But not all think alike. When we reached a little past 8, the table that we were supposed to be given was occupied by another group and inspite of repeated requests from the staff of the restaurant, the party didn't seem to care much. They knew we were waiting, we had children with us,but nothing bothered them. They took their own time,dilly dallying , eyeing us but not caring, sipping wine. It was almost 830 when they decided to leave finally. My review is not for the restaurant, I give 5 stars to them for their food, their service and hospitality. They even offered dessert on the house as a note of appreciation for being patient with the delay on getting the table. But we , as responsible and sensible clients for a restaurant, should be more empathetic and understanding when we see others are waiting and lining up in the cold while we are chilling over a glass of wine. Covid seems to have impacted people in many different ways, one of which is losing fellow feeling and sensibility. Once again, 5 stars to the restaurant, for the food, the service, the smiling faces behind the masks and for the patience they have towards some not-so-understanding, inconsiderate guests. KUDOS TO ULIS!!!

Wow do they have a lot to learn about basic customer service standards and expectations. For starters the food was OK, decent at best (but unjustifiably over priced). Paid almost $200 for 3 people (no dessert). The venue itself was nice as well, but that's about it. The server did not perform the most basic customary and courtesy aspects of the job. Not a single time did he check in on the food asking how it was. Didn't even offer or bring pepper for soups and related dishes. I asked twice for extra napkins and that did not happen. A beer took a while to get to the table as they needed to start a new keg, instead of the standard apology it was "hey at least it's fresh". Not even a big deal, but actually hilarious that was the response now that I think about it more.... The sad part is the server (middle aged guy, might have even been a manager) didn't even seem to think there was an issue with his service based on his body language. I've learned to temper my expectations but at the prices I am paying I was hoping for at least the very basics be conducted with some sense of ability and professionalism. It was not busy either nor was it some young rookie doing the job. It's a shame as I was looking to give a big tip and support a restaurant in these tough times.

So I finally made it out to Uli’s, and made resos on a Wednesday afternoon for 6. Service was super friendly from start to finish! They gave us the option of inside or outside and we chose inside as it was empty except for 1 other party across the other end of the restaurant. The interior is bright and we sat by the window, with no obstructed view of the water. Their beer and wine selection is plentiful. We chose to with the German Erdinger Weissbier, a nice refreshing wheat beer that was so tasty I didn’t want to share and ordered my own ????. Our server poured it out for us in a tall glass perfectly. My kids got the kids menu burgers and frites but one with the house salad with Caesar dressing. They loved it! I tried the salad and the dressing was delicious! My hubby and I shared the beef dip with frites and a 2.0 burger with the seafood chowder . The beef dip was pretty good, but I only got rare hints of blue cheese with the half that I ate. The jus was really good! The chowder was very generously loaded with seafood and not too heavy. Frites were very crispy and they were generous with the amount! Now I was beyond excited for the burger because it had been recommended by so many and I was really pleasantly surprised that no one had mentioned to me that they didn’t cook them well done! I love medium cooked burgers and all of ours were cooked to perfection. It was definitely a messy, sauce dripping down your elbows burger! They did miss added bacon on my MIL’s 9.0 burger but rectified it very quickly. She got half frites, half Caesar and the Caesar was a full leafed Romaine with delicious looking large capers (she doesn’t like capers though) and generously topped with parm. She is a tough critic with burgers but thoroughly enjoyed hers! It was on the pricey side, but I love that they are a restaurant that prides themselves on farm-to-table, sourcing local beef and ingredients which doesn’t go unnoticed in the quality of the dishes! Our server was very passionate about how they cook their burgers and it was evident that he enjoyed working there. I’ll be back to try out another burger that I won’t be sharing next time, their brunch menu looked amazing, that beautiful view is hard to resist and their service is impeccable!

The food is consistently good quality (yes, you can order a burger cooked medium with confidence) and the ingredients are either house-made or locally sourced - which makes it a more unique experience than typical. I couldn’t believe the taste when I took my first bite. The best is that it stayed amazing and fresh tasting until the last bite. The meat quality is impressive. No weird cartilage pieces in the beef patty that you can encounter in some other burger places. Ordered the #02 burger and added extra bacon to it. It was an explosion of taste! The thin crispy fries are so tasty and stay crispy and tasty until the end. This truly is the best burger place in Vancouver area and I’m so glad I finally got to try it!

Decided on Uli’s After checking out their menu online. We made a reservation on a weekday in the summer, and we were glad we did as it was quite busy and we wanted to sit on the patio. We had the carpaccio, fish and chips and gnocchi, and our fantastic and the portions were generous. They have a great cocktail list, and some nice wines. Although the food was fabulous, the service was even better, personable, professional, efficient.

Our server was like one of our group = quick-witted, friendly, and happy to share in a laugh! Really made our dinner a lot more fun! The space was great - had the charcuterie plate as a starter and it was great. The gnocchi was excellent. Appleton’s rum at the bar. Couldn’t have asked for a better place for dinner with friends & family. Just went with family on March 18, 2019 for a "brunch". The Veggie burger was extremely delicious and well done. Kudos Ulis.

Extremely disappointed with my last experience at Ulis. The young hostess that greeted us was very sweet and welcoming, she helped us to our table promptly. Our waitress came to the table several minutes later, so we decided to order our drinks and food right away. I was served cheap orange juice that tasted like it was starting to go bad. Our food came and it would be hard to list everything that was wrong with it. I would have no problem paying $25 for a meal that looks and tastes atleast decent, but paying this amount for 50% of the plate to have brown plain lettuce is almost insulting. My crab cakes tasted like they had been out and exposed in the fridge for a while. I ordered my Benedict eggs to be cooked medium when the waitress asked, however they gave me hard fully cooked eggs. The sauce on top was bland and tasteless. The only tasty thing on the plate was the potatoes, which I ruined when I poured a “house made ketchup” that bubbled in my tongue as soon as I tried it. I told the waitress that their ketchup is going bad and she gave me a condescending attitude but no apology; she didn’t even offer to bring me a different ketchup or anything else. We had ordered the French toast which has been great in the past, but the server forgot about it so we didn’t get it. I asked the Hostess for our bill and the waitress came back to ask if I still wanted the French toast in a very rude way. I said if the order hadn’t been sent to the kitchen we didn’t want them anymore, but if they were on the way we would take them. Of course they hadn’t been sent. We got our bill and paid, but the server never apologized for serving me an expired ketchup (which makes me question if they even check the BB dates of their supplies and products) and she never Apologized for not bringing me the French toast we ordered. I don’t know if they have changed their cooks or not, but there is a massive difference between our previous experiences and this one. Lastly, the horrible service we got from the waitress makes it hard to think that we will ever come back.

The drinks are insanely overpriced. $15 for a cocktail? The food was beautifully plated, but meh, I’ve had way better burgers. And what is up with the runny ketchup? I had to ask the server if it was homemade or gone bad, because I couldn’t tell. It tasted like weird spaghetti sauce pretending to be ketchup. Server was meh and uninterested. Wouldn’t go back, overpriced for what it was. And seriously, turn the heaters down on the deck. Definitely need to find a restaurant to have a redo of my Birthday because it really wasn’t a great experience here. $30 wasted on a subpar burger.

Uli’s is by far one of my favourite restaurants along Marine Drive in White Rock. The star of the show - their cheesecake. This is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake you can get in South Surrey/White Rock (and believe me, I’ve tried almost every piece in this area.) they constantly cycle the flavour and I’ve tried three so far - the chocolate being my favourite. Went there july 4 with my wife and daughter for lunch.Ordered the crab cake eggs Benny x 2 and the grill cheese for my daughter. Everything about the food was amazing including the waiter sam I think his name was .I wanted to write this review cause I rarely hear about great people that should get credit when its due . He was polite and wonderful to have as waiter ,I never tip 20% today I did thank for making my lunch date with my family wonderful. Keep up the great work

Great place to go anytime of the year! Great service, delicious food, friendly staff and very accommodating. The patio section is still open, as it is covered by a see thru cover, and still cozy and warm with the outdoor heaters. Our waitress Angelina was very accommodating to how much heat we would like and never left us waiting on food and drinks. The prices are very fair for the quality and taste of the food and the view is absolutely stunning. For some the prices might be on the higher side but again, you get what you pay for. We have been to a decent amount great restaurants, and this was the first time I have wanted to return to a restaurant to try multiple more dishes. The only small downfall was that even thou the seating was big enough for a couple on the same side the leg room under the table was quite cramped. It’s a personal problem as I’m taller and lanky and don’t like to complain especially when the hospitality is as good as it is. Happy people everywhere and even at the end of October, there was non stop supercars and muscle cars up and down the streets. Great site!!

I had some family visiting from Texas who had never been to White Rock before. We stopped in for dinner around 7:30pm and while the place was packed, we (group of 4) were seated right away. I was a bit nervous because my Texan family know their food and we were sitting right by the kitchen. In my experience there is often lots of yelling and banging around during a dinner rush, but this kitchen was all on point communicating and helping one another rather than yelling. It was wonderful to see. Our server was super helpful explaining some of the selections and making recommendations on starters and on beer. One of my family members had the chowder and said it was one of the best he has ever had! (that is really saying something because he has chowder everywhere he goes). A couple fried oysters on top would have been a home run! Two of the people at our table had the Ruben and BOTH of them agreed it was the best Ruben sandwich they had ever had. The components were perfectly balanced accompanied by almost "match stick" fries that were a great change from the traditional french fry. I had the 2.0 burger, and it was by far the best burger I've ever had. I was able to choose how I wanted my burger cooked which was a pleasant surprise welcomed, as often places over cook their burgers. The flavors were unreal. ALL of the food came out looking stunning, even the food not making its way to our table! :) The pricing is a bit high, however the quality of food, atmosphere and general ambiance of this place makes it worth every penny. I will definitely be back to try some other options on the menu. If it were possible to give more stars on this review I would. Somebody give this place an award!

This was our first night out since lockdown and the team at Uli’s did a great job to make a great night for us. We started out with mussels in the tomato sauce and calamari and then for dinner I had the beef ragu and my wife had the gnocchi of the day. Everything tasted great and made it to our table quickly. The customer service was really good. Our waitress /hostess was charming and attentive. The menu was mediocre although the appetizers were delicious. We had the oysters Rockefeller and the baked brie and they both were really good. I had the beef dip with their clam chowder and that was mediocre. They loaded the sandwich with a lot of beef which was good but I've had better chowder elsewhere. My friend had a the cured smoked salmon benny and her eggs were overcooked and the smoked salmon was too salty for her liking. The prices are reasonable for this place. It wasn't too expensive. I might come back again.

Uli's is a German name but the food is multi country, if that description makes sense. The burger is an award winner and all the food at our table was excellent. The first page of the beer list had 18 beers with a total of 42 beers available. The cranberry sour-ish beer was interestingly good. We had the best table, the best server and the best time. There was a time when this restaurant will get 5 stars all the time. We visited this restaurant several times recently before posting this review. Owner is a fine business person who knows his business very well but in the recent times quality has not been consistent . Uli's burger was best at one time but it is nothing like what it use to be, on one of our recent visits burger was too dry and felt a day old. A lady who looked like manager ignored our request to move table as it was cold outside and heater was not working. Then she ended up entertaining someone she knew and sat with them to have a drink. This restaurant had a reputation of being most friendly and having a most consistent quality ingredients in the past. Something changed, hopefully management will be able to turn it around.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for the past 5 years.In the winter months when the tourists are nowhere to be seen we keep the business going.This experience was actually disturbing.Myself and 2 guests were enjoying our meal as we discussed how small the portions are in the summer.We were interrupted by this female manager and started to argue with us regarding the portions.She told us we were wrong and she specifically weighs the portions herself. Our server was great and the food was good however we will never go back.On our way out we met 3 of our friends and told them what happened.They went somewhere else.I hope it was worth it for her to turn away 6 people.

I've been to a couple spots on the strip in white rock. While I cannot complain about the service or the seating I can say with no ill will I found the quality to simply be average. It was quite busy on a Tuesday night in the summer. We ordered the fish and chips, lemonade and the focaccia. All items were just plain Jane in terms of flavour. My nephew had the grilled cheese with the skinny fries, and he finished the whole plate! He loved it, but sadly I did not get to try! I had the burger 08 from the secret menu which I also loved. The grilled Caesar salad was worth the extra cost to upgrade from the fries. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was nice inside. Sure it is a little pricey, but you won't be sorry. Recommend skipping the bottled root beer as not worth the cost.

The service is friendly and quick. Loved the fries, crab cakes and beer selections. The foccacia was served with a bowl of oil so deep it was impossible to get at the balsamic without drowning the bread in oil. The vegan burger, sorry to say, is a disaster. Mushy veggie patty oozes everywhere the second you pick up the bun. Both vegans at our table found the vegan burgers impossible to eat and not tasty. After giving up on picking them up, we tried with knives and forks but the wooden platters they are served on spin in place making things more difficult. Please rethink the vegan patty into a beyond beef or something that holds together like a proper burger and serve the foccacia with a plate of oil and vinegar not a bowl of oil.

We have dined here several times over the last few years and I looove the ambience, the food and the service. View of the water, cozy, personal. We moved to the area from downtown a year ago and I recently hosted my husbands 40th birthday party here and it was just perfect. We did a canapé party and the food and service were wonderful. I had hoped to get there beforehand to decorate but our wine tour ran a bit late and when I arrived they had done it all and it was even better than I envisioned it. Can’t wait to get back to lounge on their patio!! Thanks to Jennie, the manager who helped me with planning everything and to all the wonderful staff! It is definitely our new go to place.

Had my first time to dine in here Burgers were Really good but didn't expect too much of the fries. It could have been good if there is a small portion of beautiful side salad that comes with it for a price of $24. Fish that was serve were lack of seasoned and it was too golden brown and over cooked and a small portion for a price of $19. A beautiful plating could help too. But it was good experience. Hope to come back here next time and will have a lovely plate of this items mentioned.

Service was poor. The waitress always forgot to bring the juice for a 5-yr-old even we reminded her several times. Food was good but we arrived at arrived around 10:30 am and there was multiple tables out front to enjoy some of the sun We asked but were refused as "they are reserved" so were taken back to a table close to kitchen and washroom with a view of a dusty vase. They take reservations through a site where you can ask for a table or view in a comment section but not guaranteed, nor were we offered "if one comes up" so basically blown off. I dislike this process and was so frustrated with it that I couldn't enjoy my what i read was the " best eggs benny" well its not the best when you get blown off to the dirty inside of this place.... server was good too. hostess needs to be slapped maybe its that generation of never having to work for everything ..anyway wont be back...... when you go dont eat inside if you do dont look around its pretty gungy

Worst dinner I've had in a long time. I ordered the duck leg confit. It came out very dry, very bland and sat on a bed of fried hashbrowns. I complained and was offered very little including a salad or bowl of soup, neither of which compare to a duck leg entree. When the bill came we were not comped for anything on our bill, not even the $31 duck. Very disappointing.

The food is good if a bit uninspired. Friendly service. It was pouring rain but the restaurant was so busy that one group sat outside ( under cover with a heater). We were seated near the door and everytime the server attend the table outside, they held the door open. Made for a chilly lunch! Maybe stepping outside and letting the door close would have been a better approach.

Last Wednesday (May.12th) was my friend's 34th Birthday. He made a reservation for a wheelchair accessible table for 6pm. Unfortunately there was a situation that caused us to be 15 minutes late to the restaurant. We called to let them know we would be arriving in 5 minutes just to have them say they had given our table away!!!! My friend had already been having a rough birthday as it was and for this to happen was just the icing on the cake...Not impressed at all and couldn't believe they didn't call to ask us if we were still coming and that the table would be given away before hand. Very inconsiderate and just plain rude. We ended up having to wait for 2 hours to get into a neighbouring restaurant. What is the point in taking a reservation just to have your table given away, especially on someone's birthday. Not cool guys.....

We sat in the soon to disappear streetside patio space. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food was top notch, particularly the Gnocchi of the day which had a delicious wild mushroom and bacon sauce. The kids declared that the Fish & Chips was the best they've had. The cocktails likewise were very good. Uli's is not only the best restaurant in White Rock, it's one of the best restaurants in all of Greater Vancouver. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic they have offered an exceptional takeout menu which includes many of their signature dishes and award winning burgers along with beer, wine, jars of their house made salad dressing, and some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Most of their wine by the glass and especially their reserve wines are usually flat because they have been sitting in opened bottles or a contraption for their reserve wines for too long and become ruined by oxidation. At Uli’s, it is best to buy unopened full bottles of wine that are uncorked at your table.

One word: paella. This place makes an amazing one - the only place that had similar paella is Mexico's east coast. We also had a house salad with chicken breast and it was really tasty. They've won awards for their burgers, and not for no reason. Best burger I've had, certainly on the White Rock strip, maybe ever. And their fries are awesome! I hear that fry reviews are incredibly subjective, depending on how you like them. I happen to like them thin. Almost like the shoestring chips you can buy at the corner store. That's exactly what they' like; just fresh and hot. Little known secret: if you're feeling guilty about ordering fries, ask for half fries, half salad. They won't bat an eye.

We ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, coffee, and caesars. The waitress was so sweet and kind. We had a great experience and the food was soooo good. my partner and I were both quite disappointed with our meal, although we tried to look on the positive side (there was a beautiful view). 1.) Crab cakes (starter): for twenty five dollars, we were expecting nice sizeable thick crab cakes, fragrant and delicious with chunks of real crab. instead, we got three thin crab patties, with an unsatisfying texture that sort of falls apart too easily, and without much substance. the flavour was not bad and was its redeeming quality. 2.) Paella: the portion was hefty and the flavours were strong, with the seafood cooked well, but it was not traditional by any means. there was also some chicken in there which was confusing / didn't add much to the dish. 3.) Fish of the Day: halibut with mushroom risotto and turnips. the turnips were my favourite part of the dish. the halibut was very dry, although portion-wise it was great. the mushroom risotto was somewhat one-dimensional in flavour, and the texture of the rice grains just didn't seem right for a risotto. 4.) Drinks: the strawberry lemonade was deliciously fizzy and wasn't too sweet. Overall, was pricey for the quality of food, as the meal was disappointing.

Had a late Monday lunch with my family yesterday. Ordered a Paella for 2 . It cost $51.00 + tax + tips = $60.00. There were only a few pieces of shredded meat, tiny shrimps, some mussels and a few tomatoes on the plate. There was no other seafood. The rice was watery and extremely spicy with no taste. The waitress was good but it was very disappointing that the Paella was so bad. It was not worth $60.00 for a low class taste of Paella. If Uli's Restaurant is charging premium prices, they should offer premium food. Unlikely we will return. REPLY TO OWNER, ULI'S Thanks for your reply email. It wasn't that the server suggested Paella for us. We have had paella all the time when we visited your restaurant in the past. My family made a special revisit to your restaurant after a day trip to the US. Of course, the plate was empty when we left as we were all hungry at the time. It was a very late lunch for us. We have no problem with paying for good food with good value. The server was good. As a courtesy, we didn't want to make it difficult for her and launch a complaint. We should have taken a picture of the Paella for you to help you understand. Even for my very elderly mom, who was the one who had fallen in love with your Paella for so many years (on each visit to Uli's in the past, Paella was her favourite dish), declined to go back after this visit. We don't advocate fabrication, nothing but the truth. Hope that you can try your own Paella and come to recognize that improvement is definitely needed. There is always room for improvement. Thanks. Went out for a nice lunch with a friend and in return got below average service. The one star I’m giving is only for the food. Our waitress was rude and never came to even check on us while she came multiple times to the table beside us. It is also worth mentioning we were seated on the patio during a heat wave (which is fine) however, not being offered water after we initially finished our first glass is not. Our waitress had not even come back for water or to check on our first bites, very disappointed. As we waited and waited the waitress refused to even make eye contact with us as if our table was not worth the attention. We eventually gave up and went inside to ask for our bills ourselves. We wanted our remaining food to be packed but with the waiting and the fact that we had to go inside to get the attention of our waitress, we were over it and just wanted to get out of there. It would be nice to be treated well while dining in a restaurant with great views and great food.
