We love Classic Indian! Their new location is fantastic. It is much larger than the previous location and has lots of free parking. The food is always amazing. They are extremely friendly and accommodating and will "veganize" just about anything for you. We love this. The food quality is outstanding. They offer a wide variety of take home cooking sauces and soups. They are excellent quality and make easy meals at home. They have a new on-line ordering system that is so easy and user friendly. Please keep up the good work!

Before the pandemic I used to eat dinner. I loved their food. But I did not know that they had moved. Yesterday I went in there and said I want some Mulligatawny soup, Chicken tiki masala. I told him that I liked a little bit of heat in my food. He gave me a jar of Vindaloo chutney. On the house Who even does that anymore?

This was my first foray into Indian food. Granted my order of spring rolls was pretty safe but the friendly service and explanation of some of the menu items was lovely!! The staff are so warm and friendly and the service was spot on. I've decided that I want to work my way through the entire menu. Bring on our next lunch!! Thank you Classic Indian.

This Restaurant is a hidden Gem! I am very lucky to work close by the Classic Indian Restaurant and was very lucky to have a lunch provided by the owner for the hard working St Mary's Hospital staff at an off site location. The owner did not have to treat us to a lunch, but did to thank us for our work. He is a caring individual, small business owner and I will be picking up other dishes for lunch or for dinner. The online menu is so easily and when you ask for mild, you get it! You have to give this restaurant a try, you will not regret it! Wonderful food and service! Thank you!

Was at the new location today. 4 dishes, appetizer platter and naan. All spot on. 3 of us enjoyed it immensely. Even got some soup and sauce to go. The buffet was always good but this was next level.

WOW!!!!!! Lately, CIR has had many many positive reviews. The restaurant has physically moved and allowed them to operate in more spacious environs. We got the Okra, manchoorian chicken, manchoorian cauliflower, singapore noodles, mini samosas and rice. My wife and I loved our food and can tell the food was prepared with passion. Fantastic Indian restaurant with great vegan options! The Cauliflower Manchoorian was SO good (and vegan). The Veggie Madras was good too. Make sure to get rice or something with those! Our server was so nice and quick! Great experience here and would come back again. We didn’t wait long at 5 on a weekday. The water jugs are cool too. Water glasses came chilled which was nice on a hot summers day.

We were so worried when we moved back to Waterloo, and saw their old buffet style restaurant doors closed. Then we GOOGLED Indian ... and up came their NEW location !! Bright, clean, well laid out and amazing food!! Even better system for take out and delivery, and their "to go" sauces and "meals in a jar" are amazing ! Food was excellent. We are so excited this family run business MADE IT !! Come check out their new location for pick up or delivery and their "make at home" options ... you won't be disappointed.

went there first time today, the guy at the front is the most arrogant person i have seen in food service industry , he has so much attitude , after waiting for 50 minutes when i got up to inquire about food he abruptly told me to go sit as if this a highschool classroom and i was asking a doubt , had heard good things about food and wanted to try but the server's attitude is something that was not acceptable. needs to learn how to deal with customers definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone

really liked the ambience, owner is pretty chill. Food was good. Chicken Al-Goa was dope. Mango Lassi was a bit different than what you usually get but it was good. Ordered steamed rice as part of order, it was delayed but staff was nice enough to compensate with one of their readymade curry sauces. Overall good, bit expensive but you should give it a try for sure

So, we were two people went to try food at this restaurant. Did not like the food nor the quality and presentation is not upto the standard. Needs to work on their recipes rather than details on menu. Food was not worth of its price. Ambience is really good and restaurant is clean.

Me and my wife went to this place and tried dosa's which was recommended by the owner but it was bad and cold and when requested the owner to change it, he started showing us attitude. Will never recommend it to anyone.

I was driving by Waterloo and decided to stop here for lunch with my coworker. I had their chicken curry lunch special with naan on the side, for someone who has tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Toronto, I can say this restaurant really surprised me. Their curry was flavourful with the perfect level of spice (I had the option to pick), and the naan was nice and soft. Not to mention the excellent service!

First time ordering from this restaurant , and I will be back for sure. Food was neatly packed in paper bags, making it easy to transport. It felt like a family business, and I was received but a gentleman (maybe the owner) with a big smile and super polite, being very attentive to our special requests. The restaurant has moved recently to new location and had fresh decor and kitchen, both very clean and open. But the main character was the food. Delicious Manchurian Cauliflower (amazing), Veggie Samosas, Butter Chicken, Naan, Biryani and a couple more I cannot spell. Oh, and try their Parathas! A great experience all around. Lots of different options (vegan, vegetarian included), with no compromise on flavour. I forgot to take pictures, but will add some next time I need some spiciness in my life!

My husband and myself are usually not a fan of Indian food. However, my son ordered from you last Friday and it was amazing. The butter chicken just melted in our mouth, tasty, without being overspiced or too hot for me. My son couldn't believe how kind and thoughtful you were to add "extra" items into the meal, without charge, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Not only that, but the kindness in preparing and adding extras was very unexpected but very much appreciated. Any one looking for a good meal check this place out. I am sure we will be ordering from you again. Keep up the good work in these troublesome times. Keep safe, and continued success with your restaurant.

Pathetic service, rude owner, made us wait for like 50 mins and didn’t care to apologize when we walked out! Food might be good but zero for customer service. Such service won’t sustain you long! Edit- And accepting your mistake won’t make you small :) and bashing out won’t make your service great- your food might be good or at par but you need to learn some mannerisms for sure :) And the picture clearly shows how busy you were!

Never been disappointed with an order and we've probably ordered a few dozen times in the last 10 years. Everything is delicious and hot (no matter pick up or delivery). The mini mixed samosas are my son's favourite. We often order a wee bit extra to take the burden off our cooking obligations for the next day too. Even the leftovers are fantastic!

One of the best Dosa and Sambhar I have had in Canada. The masala tea was just perfect for the cold weather and the mini samosas go perfectly with the tea. The place has a really great ambience and the staff are really warm and welcoming. Had a great time with my friends and would definitely recommend the masala dosa!!

We placed an order for take out Wednesday Dec 29th and while the food was delicious - we did not get our entire order. We got two chicken dishes when one of our mains should have been a lamb dish. We live quite a distance so it wasn't feasible to go back to change it out. I have emailed the restaurant - but still have not heard back. The food always is great - but you pay a lot more for lamb than chicken. Disappointed.

Although I haven't had a chance to visit their new location, I have been to their previous location several times and service has always been great! The owners and staff are attentive and caring. Dosas have great texture and strong, unique flavours. Chutneys were all distinct and exciting. Only thing is it was slightly pricey even for dinner.

Waited 1 hour for 3 dosas and was just us as the dine in customers and it still did not come. And when we said like it's been lot of time, the guy at the front showed us attitude and said fresh food takes time. Like arrogancy at its peek. Will never be back. Response: i think you need to calm down and start accepting customers reviews either good or bad. Seeing all your responses to all the customers who have given less ratings makes it clear that you can't take criticism. Not everyone posts false reviews. And i don't have any personal vendetta against you. And as you said it is a free country, so everyone has freedom of speech and can post however they feel. What we felt is what we posted. And for your kind information we were 4 people so each one of us posted different reviews. The other reviews are from your other customers who might have felt just like us that you are mistaking to be posted by us. And you should accept that you have timing issues, you are not open at 5, your door clearly stated 4.30pm open. And we patiently waited for good 35 mins after ordering before we got up, as your kitchen is see through and we did not see anyone preparing our order. And we all sperately ordered our food, one of which item came early, and we waited for our food for 15 more minutes after that arrived, that is when we decided to get up. We come to spend our money there so we expect to be treated with respect. So i wish you good luck with your business, if you don't want us coming, we are also not dying to come there. There are plenty other options that appreciate their customers.

Good dosas and even better service. Family owned and operated. Will definitely visit again. Ask for podi with dosas for an extra spicy kick. Sambhar is excellent. Also got to try the spicy mango juice. One of a kind. Really good. I could go on and on. In short, Just visit and try the food. You wont regret it.

My wife discovered Classic Indian Restaurant thirteen years ago and she introduced me six years ago. Our very favourite restaurant in Waterloo: owned and operated by a wonderful family, delicious food, warm and welcoming service. During the last pandemic year, we've missed our weekly pickups from Classic Indian Restaurant and, now that we've begun venturing out, are excited to see Thiru and his wife and family once again. We recommend Classic Indian Restaurant to everyone!

I absolutely love this restaurant. It's been the only Indian restaurant I go to or get take out from since I was first introduced to it in 2002/2003. They have the best food. So many vegan options and everything is absolutely amazing. The quality is always on point and great presentation. The best mullugtwanny soup around. The Aloo Gobi is my all time favorite. I haven't been to the new location yet because of the pandemic but I hear it's stunning. I still order take out and have never been disappointed. I'm a long time customer and will always continue to support such an amazing business. The staff and owners are so friendly and always want to make sure you have a pleasant experience. It's disheartening the negative reviews I've read as they truly don't deserve them at all. They are great people with a fantastic restaurant. I feel as though people dont fully understand the impact covid has had on the food and service industry. Prices go up because of what's going on. Try them for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Great big new location! The service was quick ordered online through my phone. We ordered the Okra, cauliflower and beef khorma along with their famous soup, naan bread and papadan. Children loved the spices as did we. Each dish comes with an order of rice which I feel is too much. Next time would request for one rice for my family of 4.

Nice restaurant with good ambiance and great food. My kid loved the samosa and lassi that too in glass container, awesome to see go green. We tried kadai veg biryani its different and unique style. The food is fresh and tasty, we felt like they cooked it with fresh vegetables rather than frozen. Will visit again to try other items.

I had ordered takeout multiple times in this restaurant and I love the packaging. Usually with other places, dosa becomes soggy by the time it reaches home when we order a takeout , but not in this case. Everytime we had crisp tasty dosa with delish coconut chutney even an hour after delivery at home. I recommend this place for south indian food????

Food was great!! Online ordering is super simple! Dal is a really tasty lentil and bean mix that is unique and so tasty. Saag paneer is creamy with the right amount of spice and generous with the paneer. Service is super friendly. Feels like a nice family restaurant.

Yum! The food was excellent and the portions were great. Those onion fritters were amazing! Our kids loved the “better” chicken and the naan is delicious and fluffy. The spice level of the vindaloo was rated 4 stars and it is hot, but so good. We had a great first time experience there and we’ll definitely be back for more.

Food can be very inconsistent but is typically good. Unfortunately, service is rarely up to par. This was our go to spot for take out Indian food until we have had many bad experiences. After ordering hours ahead of time and having our orders confirmed by the restaurant, we have had to wait over 30 minutes on many occasions. This has happened three times now. Each time they have confirmed our order an hour or more ahead of time and still have not been able to complete our order close to the scheduled time. Our last order, we ended up cancelling after waiting in person for over 45 minutes without an end in sight. I do understand that restaurants get busy and cannot fulfill orders on time occasionally. However, they should not have confirmed our orders if they could not deliver as promised. Instead of waiting 30-60 minutes in person, notifying customers of later order completion is much more appropriate for everyone. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. We were understanding the first time but after three times this is clearly a pattern. We have since then received the free meal offered by the restaurant.

We ordered for the first time tonight. The people who were working at pick up were super friendly, and the indoor dining area looked very inviting. We ordered Onion Bhajias, a Signature Dosa (WOW), Malabar Shrimp Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala. All of the food was absolutely delicious. We are feeling very fortunate to have found a wonderful new take out place! Thanks to Classic Indian for an outstanding meal, we will be back.

Donot order tea!! I ordered chai and did not like it at all. It was over boiled with ginger and all i could taste was the bitter ginger taste. Moreover the charge for it on lunch rush hour menu is 2.50 and i was charged 2.99 for it. Not that i care about some cents! I had to throw the tea because it was so bitter that even adding 4 bags of sugar did nothing to it! I don’t think its worth even trying any other dish!!

This is a great place to stop in for a good quality Indian meal. It is home to the best onion bhaji in all of the Grand River district and the sambar and chutneys are so good that they are available in bottles for taking home and the dosas are stellar! We have no problem finding vegan and gluten free options here, and the staff are consistently hospitable and friendly. Google the address, make a plan to get to this reasonably priced, casual dining establishment and go hungry because the aromas and the quality of the food will definitely result in your enjoyment of lots of yummy things. We don't get to this restaurant as often as we'd like, but if we lived in Waterloo, we'd definitely be there a lot more. And they have a lunch buffet!!!!! Get to this place!!!!
