We had lunch at Turmeric today. They showed great attention to Covid Protocols and safety as well as cleanliness. I loved the menu, which was quite different from similar restaurants that I had tried. Combo items for one and two, and then a nice choice of other options including food for kids and vegetarians. The staff were attentive without hovering...and the FOOD !! Ample portions seasoned to exactly our 'heat' level. One of our party said that her meal was probably the best she had eaten out - ever. I would very much encourage you to give them a try.

I went for the lunch buffet todayas soon as you walk in the door of the restaurant you can smell all the beautiful spices as I walked by the buffet table I was treated with an incredible selection of Indian dishes all so brightly coloured and fresh. Service was fantastic as was the food can't wait to go back againI was informed that they change it up on the weekends too. Definitely recommend turmeric.

Best Indian food in the Westshore. This is a decent Indian restaurant, but definitely the best in the area. One thing I really appreciate is that you can get any dish with any type of meat and any level of spice. This is not always offered, so it's cool to see. Prices are average, and the waitstaff was polite and attentive.

My review might be a bit different because I did not actually dine in here, but rather ordered take-out. It was good food that did not make me sick (I'm a Celiac). The reason I gave it 4/5 is because of the small portion sizes. Everyone was still pretty hungry after ordering 20$ worth of food per person. Also, their "hot level" wasn't really spicy.

Excellent food. I would have wished for a little more spice but since we were there during Buffett time it only makes sense that it would be dialed back a bit. Of course, delivery is never as good as eating in house, since some things don't ship well, but after how fantastic the food was, we definitely need to visit!

Worst Indian food we've ever eaten. I'm not one to leave reviews - Ever - but with how poor tasting our dishes were I feel compelled to. We ordered from here based on the high number of positive reviews. I don't understand why. A large group of us ordered 5 different dishes. The butter chicken tasted like canned tomatoe soup! A couple of us had stomachaches and indigestion. If you regular Indian restaurants I highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Family was out from the mainland and I forgot to call to make a Sunday lunch reservation for 10 people. *Ooops* Needless to say when I called near closing the Saturday night, they were so accommodating and said no problem. The wife and I had ordered delivery from here and the food was great, so we were excited to try the buffet cause the price was great! Well darn... the food was even better than the price! They brought out fresh naan as soon as we got there and there were so many options of curries sauces, salads and veggies. The staff kept coming by asking if we needed anything else, kept our waters full and were all super friendly. Thank you Tumeric Indian Cuisine for making our family lunch delicious and enjoyable. We will definitely be back! PS - their samosas are incredible!

I'm not much of a food reviewer but I think many people should be informed about this hidden gem located in the Westshore. I love Indian Food and being raised in Victoria I have pretty much tried every Indian restaurant on the Island. This place definitely has the best tasting and most authentic Indian food I have ever tried. The butter chicken and coconut curry were thick and just perfectly spiced. The appetizers were fresh and just melt in your mouth (I had the veg pakoras and my friend had the garlic cauliflower...wow). The spice was not too overwhelming for a person who isn't accustomed to Indian Food on a daily basis. The prices are great and the service was impeccable. I have already recommended this place to my friends and family and I cant believe I didn't know about this place until last week. Well now I do and I definitely will be returning!

When I called frustrated, I was complety passed off they asked me tk bring the food back again . When I said no that was not acceptable I was hung up on . Very rude. Will not order again . First and foremost, the food was excellent! Nothing against the kitchen. It was the service that was the absolute worst we've ever experienced. There were 3 people waiting tables, 2 nice ladies and a guy in a vest. The ladies appeared to be assigned other sections. Cool, I understand that's how restaurants work. My issue is with the guy in the vest. I'm pretty positive that we were labeled as tourists and the "3 Asians and the black guy with an infant" as our service reflected that stereotype. We felt rushed to order, so we started with an appetizer. Soon after we ordered our main courses. As soon as those were brought to the table, we were ignored. We were not checked on, our water glasses empty... Hell, even the people at Fatburger ask how the food turned out. To top it off, we had to flag him down twice and as for the check. Meanwhile, the table next to us with 5 couples and a table for 2 behind us (which were seated after us by the way) were given all the service that you would expect from any nice restaurant. Needless to say, I will NEVER patronize this business again. My wife says I'm too generous when it comes to tipping as I start at 20% and work my way up or down depending on how the service was. Typically, that 20% default is what we pay, even when the service is just alright. That said, we had a very hard time even leaving this guy a 10% tip on an $85 bill.

This was by far the worst Indian restaurant I've been to in a long time. I had lamb kebab and it didn't feel like I was eating meat at all, let alone lamb! Tasted / felt kinda like tofu. Naan was good but the main course was horrible. I attached a photo, you can see it looks like bread, not meat. Fake food!

Ended up here craving for some nice Indian food. They had a lunch buffet with a decent number of veg and non-veg options. Honestly, I did not like any of their curries. Naan was nice and warm. Onion pakoda was okay but very oily. Not a lot of dessert options included in the buffet. For the price of the buffet, I would rate it below average.

The taste was so poor that I was glad the quantity wasn't decent enough so I had to throw out out less. Also, the guy at the counter did something really silly. So, we were two people and because I had already been warned by a couple of friends about the not so great taste we ordered one meal.. and almost as if on a cue, this guy quips if we wanted to make it a combo for two people instead. And I figured why not. So guess, how he charged us. He charged us for two separate meals after calling it a combo for two people! If I had to order two separate meals for two people, I would have done that. A combo doesn't mean two separate combos. It still wouldn't have got me so mad if the taste was up to the mark but nope! Arrgghhhh!!

Great Indian food. I used to eat here all the time a few years ago but as they have become more popular their prices have gone up substantially and they no longer have any coupons. We usually get the combo C as the butter chicken and lamb curry are both delicious. They also have a good lunch buffet which is worth checking out. I'm not a big fan of their desserts, but your mileage may vary. Great place, just wish they hadn't raised the prices so high when they started to be successful.

Their food is awesome! In particular their chicken pakoras...I crave them and then have to have them! We usually order to go and most of the time they are great, but a couple times when I have arrived for my order at the confirmed time, I have had to wait another 20-30 minutes for my order. Very much recommend the tandoori sizzlers. It's a cast iron sizzling plate with your protein on top of sizzling hot onions and peppers. Incredible flavours! The paneer is my go to, but the others are just as good. Everything else is excellent too, and they aren't afraid to properly spice up your food upon request.

We've ordered from Turmeric several times, the first 5 or so times we were very pleased with their food and delivery. After that, things started to go down hill. Delivery was constantly late, up to 45 min late on 1 occasion, and the food was cold. The final straw was when we ordered online and set a delivery time for 7, at 7:40 the driver showed up and had the audacity to ask for 5 dollars on top of what we already paid because our house was outside their delivery zone. Not only had they never charged us before, he was 40 min late! I have no problem paying for a delivery fee if I'm made aware of it beforehand, but I also expect my delivery to be reasonably on time. When we dug into our food is was pretty much room temperature, we had to reheat everything. I'm willing to give them another shot because of the experience we've had in the past, but it won't be for a while.

We ordered take out. Small portions for the price. Was quoted the wrong price up front and then they had to call back and correct...ordered a meat and veggie dish, naan and rice. (Theoretically enough for 2 with some leftovers) if I had known the portions would be so small I wouldnt have ordered at all.

I ordered for a special family meal at around 4:15 with a delivery time of 8PM. At 8:20 there was no food so I called and asked and the restaurant employee assured me my food was on the way and there was traffic. It's a ten minute drive between the restaurant and the delivery address and there's rarely traffic at that time of night in the area. At 8:40 there was still no food and I got a call from the employee saying that the driver would be charging me EXTRA when he showed up. My food was already almost 45 minutes late. I know things can happen but I had gotten excited about having a nice meal with my family after they got home from visiting grandparents now that we're all vaccinated. It was later in the evening, they hadn't had a chance to eat yet and we had been waiting for them. Apparently the extra charge was because the delivery location was outside of the 5km range. I admit I could have missed it, but I didn't see anything on the website saying there was an extra charge for people who were more than 5km away (my home is 6km away). There was also no pop up when I put my address in saying that I was outside of their range! I paid online too so you'd think that'd be taken into account when calculating the delivery charge, but no. Our food showed up almost an hour late and we were charged extra for it. The food was decent but I was so unbelievably angry. The employee on the phone was polite but didn't seem to understand how ridiculous the situation was. I'm a bit shy and I have trouble telling people I'm upset with them but I actually told them I was disappointed. I can't believe a restaurant would give such awful service and demand MORE MONEY FOR IT. I'd really suggest people look elsewhere for Indian food. I was so upset at what happened and how it was handled.

Everything was extremely tasty. The staff were also extremely friendly. We ordered tandoori chicken and naan and some chicken gravy. Everything was exquisite. The restaurant overall maintained great cleanliness. The restrooms were also clean. Would recommend this to anyone who likes north Indian food. However, the chicken gravy was a little less spicy but that is probably normal for north Indian food. Each person is given a small piece of milk chocolate at the very end which adds a nice touch to the experience.

Please do not leave any tip at this restaurant because it goes in the owners pocket. My really good friends are working here and few worked in the past, owner does not give them any tip it goes to his pocket. Most of the royal roads university students work in this restaurant, they are students and in they really need job so they do not complain about it. I term it as a workplace exploitation. Please people either give cash to the servers or just don’t leave it.

Absolutely amazing chicken and appetizers. Gluten free options and an amazing lunch specials! Their buffet for lunch while small is constantly refilled with fresh food and salads. Always a dessert. Love their mango dessert!!! Lucky day if it's there. Always worth the money. There isn't a wait for seating yet it is always busy. Wait staff is super friendly and very aware of allergy issues and safe food to eat without contamination! Always a pleasure to eat here, our go to spot for a quick, filling lunch or amazing dinner. What I like about this place is the authentic Indian food and delicious taste. It's also great that they have many options for gluten and dairy free. However, something to be cautious about is the spiciness of the dishes. While I understand most dishes are mildly spicy to begin with, the option of ordering very mild or no added spice is given. I am quite sensitive to spicy foods and have asked to have it as mild as possible every time, yet it's very hit and miss with how actually spicy it is. I've had times where it wasn't spicy at all, but other times when ordering the same dish and it being way too spicy to the point that it was too much to eat. So I wish they would pay closer attention to how spicy they make it and be more careful. Sucks because the taste of their dishes is great!

She never thought it’s a big deal to keep customers waiting with food in front of them. Never refilled us with water. I had to get to car after the food to get some water ! I am never going there again. Customer service issues with the same person two different times. Their approach to non Indians was different ! That made me speechless! I’m never used to writing stories like this but this one got me MAD ! The food was fine though

Going from 4 to 2 stars after my last lunch buffet. Don't get me wrong, food is still good, staff friendly and attentive as usual. Unfortunately this last time around, my lunch buffet bill went from the usual $30 dollars or so to $50. Turns out that my children who are 2 and 4 are no longer free. I understand that they need to make a living and I don't mind paying for my children, HOWEVER what I do not appreciate is the fact that the change was never told to me NOR do I think charging $7.95 per child is appropriate. Needless to say, we probably won't be going back anytime soon.

Don't rely on them, if they have more customers they might not even serve you. I went to the restaurant after call g them and asking whether they're open to serve at that time. They said they're open and I drove 30 minutes to the restaurant. When reached they said we can only do take outs at this time as there are more customers and they're understaffed. The manager/owner didnt care about that fact and was showing attitude that sorry you can go somewhere else. Don't be fooled by the nice smell in the entrance. I expected an authentic, rich and unique experience but in my opinion it didn't live up to that expectation. If you visit a lot of Indian restaurants, this one is in the family of creamy, somewhat bland sauces. Don't expect an overly complex flavour profile. The chicken is mass produced chunks that resemble those used in premade dinners. They tend to over burn the Naan bread and some have crunchy onions even though it's not listed on the menu. I left full, but not satisfied.

I am sorry to say but the worst customer service in town. After my starters there were some chutneys and leftovers on the table, i wiped it with my napkin and keep it on the plate with the food waste(chicken bones) and kept the plate aside and the server came with the food and she was like put the bones in the plate which i got the starters and use the same plate to eat the main course. But she can see the used napkins on the plate. The main course came and didn’t get new plate for 5 mins and nobody came then i have go to the counter and asked for new plates. Then i got the plates and she didn’t say a sorry which is a proper manners and didn’t take the used plates as well The restaurant doesn’t seems busy outside but even if they have online orders they have to take care of their guests. I had worked as a server and this is not how it should be. Nobody came to see if everything is fine or if i need something else didn’t even filled my glass with water. I asked for plates going to the counter and what if i need water?? Do i have go to the counter again. A suggestion from my side is just check the tables, and refill the water and try to be professional or just take care of the guests, Its not just putting food to the table.

My friends and I came here for a late night meal just before close, the food was fantastic and the wait staff recommended several dishes, some we had not tried before chai tea, tandoori chicken wings, prawn pakoras, butter chicken, beef vindaloo, prawn biryani, and garlic naan which all came out hot and fresh. First time visiting this establishment. A Tuesday at 6pm. Quite a few diners in, their dishes looked interesting. We are always in search of the perfect Indian curry. This is one of the best curry houses we have visited in Canada. If you ignore the dated decor and slightly musty smell in washroom, you'll be very happy with the food. Price is very reasonable. Tasty, well presented food. We ordered the turmeric chicken, keema naan, garlic naan, rice, chicken jalfeezi, and onion bahji. Portion sizes are generous, so we took enough home for a lunch. It will become a regular place for us.

Myself and a friend were super excited to try the food here. Although upon arrival, the service was terrible. Stood at the front for a few minutes before being acknowledged. After finally being seated, there we sat, no drinks, nothing! A gentleman came by, never asked about drinks or offered any waters but simply stated they were 5min behind but would be with us shortly. Again, there we sat, for a good 10-15min without any service, we became hopeful when the same gentleman started walking towards our table, for him to only address the table beside us (who got there after us) and then walks away. We felt no choice but to leave. So disappointing!

Hands down one of the top Indian restaurants in Victoria. It has all the staples you'd expect and they have no qualms about making food spicy if that's your taste. Solid selection of dishes, authentic.

Food has always been very good. I have major IBS issues and the food does not bother me at all. You can tell it's all fresh and nicely balanced. My partner is celiac and there are lots of options for her. WILL BE BACK! We feel it is very good value for our money as we always have left overs to take home.

I haven't had a bad experience with this place. I love the butter chicken there, it's my favourite. They keep the buffet well stocked and the staff are polite at lunch or dinner. I go here whenever I'm in town so I'm surprised that it has some negative reviews. Maybe I just have different tastes. I am not Indian so I can't speak for authenticity. If you want to try a variety of Indian foods go to the lunch buffet.

Butter chicken and keema parantha were decent but the biryani was a joke. It was more like colored boiled rice with chicken. When we expressed our concerns about the biryani, their response was "oh okay....". No concept of customer service. Definitely not authentic indian food or hospitality.

Very bad customer service, was ordering drinks with food. Appy’S were cold dinner was good. Ordered a drink and the server told that she can only serve in the building and her shift ends in 15 mins, if want anything let me know and will check back before she leaves. 10 minutes later called server asking for her to serve the drink and other guy tells us she already left and cannot serve drinks now when she said she will check back before leaving and take the order while we were still thinking. They didn’t even bothered checking on us jut focus on SkipTheDishes .

Service was super slow but food was delicious. Ordered Cesar’s that were rather disappointing. lacked that robust flavour, nothing on the rim....especially when paying $8. That said, when we sent it back, they took it off the bill no questions asked. Favourite dish was the Coconut Curry, yum!!

First time at this restaurant - amazing food!! The ambiance of the restaurant was nice with warm mood lighting. We both had enough food to take home for dinner the next night. Ankit was our waiter, he was funny, personable, professional and kind. I had the butter chicken, it was amazing, lots of chicken!! I also had the Naan bread, it was delish!! My hubby had the Vindaloo and he loved it, (he’s not easy to please????). No room for dessert!! We will definitely be back - thanks so much for the awesome food and service!!

Me and my husband went there last night for supper, and it was so great! My husband wasn't expecting to like it, but he loved it! The food (we both got curries, and the onion ring appetizer) was so good, and our server was so friendly and helpful. We'd definitely like to come here again. Edit: I also wanted to mention we were served quite quickly, and the atmosphere was quite lovely.

Food gets 4 stars but one of the staff member who served us doesn't deserve to be working there. She served food and was nice but before she brings our desert she finished her shift and left without giving any heads up or details to remaining staff like a gong show. I am glad other 2 girls are smart to hadle it and served better.

Very Yummy Indian cousine. I visited about six times now. They offer lunch buffee for very good price and their evening ala cart menu is great too. My mom is hard to please when it comes to food and she doesn't eat much meat and everu time we come to Turmeric she is beyond happy. Highly recommend!

we went for dinner yesterday and we were told that they have dinner buffet also when we grab the plate to serve ourselves food from the buffet the server told us rudely to come after 5 minutes and it was so embarrassing in front of other guests. never going back there.

We ordered for a family of four (including 2 teens) and have plenty left for all of us to have for lunch today as well. Will order from them again (direct) and also will dine in in the future! The worst Indian restaurant ever been to. We had gone for the lunch buffet. The naan was cold and tough, the appetizers were cold, the curries were sweet and the pakora in yogurt was not cooked. And the service was horrible. They were providing selective service to non-indians. We were told we could sit anywhere we like and just left with that. We were not even served water and had to ask for it. The dirty plates were left on our table and were cleared.

Great food, i would give 5 stars but it is the second time you forget my ustensils (fork/knife) on my take out order. I mentioned it twice to you this evening, yet i get no ustensils. Imagine eating chicken butter/rice with a naan bread as a fork.
