Stay away from this place. The service is the worst ever. We went in when they first opened the door. There was no one in there. They seated us right by the kitchen when they found we had no reservations. When I asked to be reseated they moved us one table over and seated another couple in that bad table . We waited 20 minutes for them to take our order and another 45 minutes to get our food. After a total 90 minutes we were given our check. By then there were 3 other couples there. Most the window seats were still vacant. I heard the people behind us look over the empty room from the very back, and say they had never been treated so rudely and I agree.

Unfriendly staff. Wouldn't seat me. Finally another waitress spoke to me and I ordered room service it wasnt worth the waiting. Food was cold and tasted horrible. Next day the bartender was so rude. Ordered her beer on tap they were promoting. She threw a fit. Throwing a towel down stated she had to change the tap. When she came back stated it was to foamy & handed me something else. When i ordered a mix drink she stated she doesn't make those. Walked off. No customer service. Don't advertise drinks if you don't have them and don't bring your personnal problems to work. Will not recommend bar or restaurant.

The restaurant is part of the Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA. I would consider it a destination, however, and not just a hotel restaurant. We went for a late dinner and received immediate friendly service. The server was attentive and engaging throughout the meal. The food and drinks were excellent. The view of the marina was beautiful. A very enjoyable evening.

Went to this restaurant for the first time and had the Dine Around menu. The staff were lovely and the perfect amount of attentive without disrupting the meal. We had the tuna tataki and spring rolls to start. The tuna dish was refreshing and I enjoyed the addition of the marinated squash, which added a salty, umami kick. The spring rolls were rich and gooey, and the chutney complemented it well. We tried the lobster Mac and cheese and Jambalaya-stuffed pork chops for the main. The Mac and cheese had lots of lobster in it and the cheesy sauce was perfect. The pork chop was moist and perfectly cooked. The jambalaya was well seasoned (although not very spicy) and the dish was incredibly filling. For dessert we had the Apple/profiterole dish and the poached pear, which were great as well. We couldn’t actually finish the desserts since by this point we were beyond full, but they were delicious. I’ll definitely be back to try their regular menu items. The only critique I would give is that the decor is a little dated, but that does not detract from the lovely harbour views, service and food.

Just dined here and had some of the best seafood I have ever had. We got the halibut, the chowder, and the seafood pasta. We asked for a couple changes and they were extremely accommodating. Our waitress Carly went above and beyond. She was great. Last but not least, breathtaking views.

Went for an anniversary breakfast/brunch to start a mini-vacation. Had the smoked salmon and crab-cake bennies. They were ok but just ok. Had much much better everwhere we went over the course of a week - even the little diner in Sooke called Alternative Kitchen. We had to look to find the smoked salmon and the crab-cake at Blue Crab, and the hollandaise was very uninspired - no lemon at all.

We looked for a place to eat Alaskan King Crab. Ended up here. Service absolute 10, we were not guests of the hotel where the restaurant is. Even though they got a cab for us towards our own hotel which was totally free. When the king crab cools down a bit (due to the long scratching out of the meat) they come up with the butter sauce on a fire so when you poor it on the crab, the crab gets warm again

Also, we were given another customers pick up order and had to take them back on our time and without any covid protocols taken into account. It was truly a fabulous evening at this place. The food was superb and the waiters truly was exceptional. I ordered the snow crab and the waiter showed me how to use the crab crackers. Thanks goodness he did that or I might have cut myself trying to crack open the long legs of the crab. For a start we ordered the bacon and seared scallops for appetizer.

We showed up on a Wednesday with out a reservation. Although they were booked the staff managed to find a table for us. The server was very friendly and helpful. The food was top notch. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Victoria area, you won't be disappointed.

Couldn't believe the view. Also couldn't believe the food. Pleasantly surprised and overjoyed on both fronts. This was also the first time we tried lobster and crab in a fancy restaurant setting and were not disappointment. The crab tools they brought us were also a treat to use and made it even easier to literally dig in. There are so many amazing places to eat in Victoria we could eat some place new everyday and never repeat but this place is currently at the TOP of our list for "special" dinners out. We'll return for sure. Next level.

Book a reservation before you can. They are very very busy. Crab cakes are great with a full side Salad included. Seafood boil is excellent to try the assortment available. Service is good, they validate up to 6$ for parking (parking is 3$ an hour, pay and bring the receipt to table) Don't get the mystic beach cocktail, its full of ice.

Everything we ordered was fantastic (Sockeye salmon on risotto, snow crab legs, cod, Caesar salad). Very good value, good service, and view of the harbor. Would definitely visit again.

We had the crab cakes, the blue crab Cobb salad and the dialy special (halibut and prawns tacos). The food was delicious and the service was excellent until the end of our meal. I wanted to pack up the leftovers and our server didnt offer to pack it up for me and just handed me a box. Then as I was putting my salad into the box I noticed a fly on the a beet. I pointed it out to the server just so she would know and her response was "yeah its organic. It happens all the time. Somebody once found a Caterpillar." Her facial expression wasnt very empathetic either and then she basically said "are you taking it or not?" As a result, we only tipped her 5% instead of 18-20%. I felt that it was unfortunate how this happened. It went from a wonderful experience to a bad one due to something the server said at the end. She was not, at all, apologetic or empathetic about the situation. I hope that the restaurant will see this review and learn from it. This could have easily been avoided if she had apologized. I'm sure this can be included in future training for servers and a simple talk with current servers. Thanks

Stumbled across Blue Crab after our whale watching tour and what a lovely surprise. One of the tastiest lunches we've had! the calamari was delicious with a very light batter and a perfect fennel slaw, mussels with chorizo were a perfect combo and the kids had tasty club sandwiches - all within a perfect setting outside overlooking the sea and very attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

We had lunch at the Blue Crab and had a window table in the lounge so had a gorgeous view of the Inner Harbour. A delicious lunch was served to us by a very attentive waiter. We had the Wild Mushroom soup and the Ceasar Salad with wild Sockeye salmon. Both dishes were delicious. A nice quiet and relaxing place to have lunch in Victoria.

We were extremely disappointed that the hotel refuses to rebate parking fees for paid restaurant patrons. It is an exceedingly poor business model for a Victoria business in the hospitality industry to have such a petty policy. Your staff were embarrassed and apologetic for this bad management practice. Your competitors happily reimburse for parking. Alienating Victoria locals over $4.00 is not smart. Val Wise

The worst service I have received in a long time. Had reservations, but upon arrival had to wait for our table to be available. That's ok, it happens. Half an hour later we finally get seated, and are immediately ready to order. Another 40 minutes go by before the bartender comes over to ask if we had been served as she noticed us sitting there for a long time. She takes our order, and says she will get a server to come over asap after. Due to our close proximity we were able to hear her explaining to the servers what happened, and all of them refusing to take our table at this point. The food was good though.

The service and venue were fine, we did not make the reservation so did not have any idea what the menu consisted of. Was hoping for some simple classic west coast seafood favorites to share with family from the Prairies, but there was not much in the way of simple dishes. Two people ordered the same dish and they each arrived with very different doneness, temperature and color. When our server was informed, the correction was made quite quickly and the fresh plate was much better. So for that i upped the review from three to four stars.

The service was terrible. We were told that they couldn't accomodate our group, that there was no table available. Then there was a table so we sat. We waited 25 minutes and had to ask a random server walking by if our table had a server assigned. She finally came out. We waited a very long time for our food. Our server never checked back. Then we had to go find her to get and settle our bill. The food was mediocre. I would not suggest or go back

Expectations were exceeded this evening when visiting the Blue Crab Bar & Grill. I called ahead to assure they could accomodate my disability ( a walker & sensitivity to loud environments ) and the staff were confident they could and at very least seat me on the patio. Upon arrival we were suprised to find it was a very popular spot, great ambience and not a typical hotel eatery. Unfortunatley the weather had turned and the patio was not available, there was room for reservation only and parking was full and we had been forced to pay at the lot across the street. Learning of our circumstance Chris, the supervisor quickly reacted finding us a quiet place in the corner before the next guests arrived. The pleasant experience did not end here with Carly, our wait staff being quite attentive bringing us delicious bread ( surprisingly not the typical chewy options at most restaurants but a herbed fresh loaf), a plathora of utensils for tackling our crab a delicious tuna starter and a wonderful demeanour. I dont typically rave to this extent about any experience but the Blue Crab earned it. I now understand why they were so busy and I will be back again. Thank you!

Positives: None. The overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth figuratively and literally. Even the view could not make up for the horrendous experience. One of the worse I have ever experienced Negative Experience: The waiter was quite rude and argumentative. He was quite rude to a member of our group. We suspected it was because we spoke with an accent which agitated him. The food itself was quite bland. One could clearly tell it was flash frozen crab that was preserved in brine. Then thawed in warm water and served. It was hard to believe it was fresh due to the blandness of everything. One would much be better off buying frozen crabs from super store and thawing it for the same experience at a cheaper price.

My friend and I realized that we won't easily get a seat at a restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf, but we did not want to walk back to the downtown core for lunch. Just a short walk away on the way back to the center of Victoria, we found the Blue Crab Seafood House. It has a big terrace with seaside views and is quieter and more welcoming than anything we had seen at the Wharf. We had an unhurried meal and drinks. The food was good, if a bit expensive for the portions that we were getting. The important thing was that we were able to relax and enjoy a good meal without feeling that we had to quickly give up our seats.

Like other high end restaurants, the portions are small, but the taste is lovely. They now charge $2.00 for bread because they observed so much bread remaining uneaten that it wasn't cost effective to include it free. We ordered it, it was delicious. Wondering how John's Place affords to include bread as a starter?

For the quality of restaurant it was ok. The view is why you go. The menu was fairly limited. It's basically like the Keg but a more limited menu and equivalent quality. I got the snow crab. The view balanced it out but next time I'll just have drinks there.

This restaurant has excellent seafood dishes. Service was very good as well. I really liked the Rasberry torte chocolate cake. Remember to make a reservation. This place was pretty full when we went for dinner. This restaurant is located inside the Coast Victoria Hotel.

We had a starter each, some bread 2 main dishes and shared a dessert and left full. More than I can say for other up scale dinners we have had in the past. The service was just right, not too much attention or too little. Professional. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Victoria. We used "Open Table" to make the reservation and they were ready and waiting for us when we arrived.

Fantastic fresh, local seafood served here, with great views out over the water, you can watch the sea planes and boats coming and going. The menu is great and full of local fresh seafood with lots of choice, particularly with 3 types of fresh crab. Crab cakes abs the scallops with bacon were great appetisers, and the fresh in-season salmon & halibut were really good too - what's great is that you can add a side of half of one of the crabs, or some other seafood, which makes choosing the dishes easier as you don't have to 'miss out' on anything. Great friendly staff too, happy to help and answer questions.

On July 28th, I was delighted to be found at the Blue Crab Seafood House with my Dad and good friend. We originally intended to go to Il Covo, but being from Ontario, we did not anticipate the need to book a reservation. We were immediately impressed with the luxurious interior atmosphere. We sat at the window table, permitting us to observe the glorious harbour without the need for a sweater. From our first interaction with the staff, until the moment we departed, we were treated with excellent manner. As an individual who subscribes to a predominantly, 100% vegan diet, I was sanguine to discover what they could provide for me. I enjoyed a congenial palaver with our indubitable server to request my dietary rectitude. Given the michelin nature of this restaurant, the professional chefs generated an inimitable mushroom risotto. This risotto was most certainly ambrosia bestowed upon us directly from the most divine beings that dwell in the blue skies above all mortal life. The door into the kitchen is a portal into another realm. For every contraction of my jaw, with the sapid nectar in my mouth, a tear fell from my eye, streaming down my cheek. It had become clear that this was the most delectable dish on the entire menu. By the time I finished the risotto, my shirt had been soaked as it collected each tear at their terminus. I had been utterly satisfied, but the server did not relent. Despite there having been no vegan options on the dessert menu, it had become clear that these chefs would not be confined by any words on a simple piece of paper. I would conclude the meal with a bowl of carefully selected, perfectly ripe, fresh fruit. Ultimately, I would like to commend the staff for being pleasantly accommodating. I encourage the restaurant to expand their vegan offerings.

We had a disappointing experience. My mushroom bisque had a rubber band in it. The server was surprised but didn't apologize. A manager didn't come over either. The soup was taken off the bill but the server didn't tell us. The sockeye salmon was so salty and the beet puree was too sweet that we both barely ate it. Again the server didn't check. The view was spectacular especially at sunset. Our hotel concierge (Grand Pacific Hotel) recommended the restaurant but I would not recommend it . Glad to read that most people truly enjoyed the meals. I think we hit an off night.

Overpriced and underserved. I hadn't ever been here and was excited to try it. For some reason I built up in my mind it must be great... but it wasn't. More like a casual dining room with overpriced tourist prices. On top of that, the service was poor. The wait staff seemed disinterested as they put down our $50 plates in front of us. The server even moved our water glasses out of the way by pushing the wine glasses against them and moving them across the table. The fish was fresh, but it was oversauced to the point of being almost inedible. The view is amazing, but I won't return at those prices and that service.

We stopped in here soaking wet. They were fantastic. Took our wet coats and fed and watered us. Enormous amount of food. I had the 2 piece halibut fish and chips. It was enough for two. Probably should have pushed away from the table but I can't pass up a challenge like that. The food was hot and delicious. The beer plentiful and also delicious. Try the pilsner with your fish and chips. By the time we finished the rain had subsided and we got back to the boat with time to spare. Beautiful hotel. Genuinely friendly restaurant staff. Stopped in the port on a cruise and wanted King Crab. This restaurant had great service, great view, and superb food. Two had the King Crab and were very happy with their selection. The crab was perfect. One ordered the filet and lobster. The filet was cooked perfectly. The lobster was good, but smothered in a Hollandaise sauce that was too heavy for the lobster tail for my taste. I mistakenly thought the hollandaise was for the filet when I read it in the menu. May want to ask for the hollandaise sauce on the side. The service was professional, well timed, and very friendly. The view is spectacular at sunset and in the evening. The restaurant is loud which may bother some people. This particular evening they even had a free shuttle back to the ship if you ate at this restaurant. We would highly recommend.

Horrible experience. The appetizer started off with pieces of burnt flat bread I took it out to show, but it was hidden under other pieces of bread. The main course seemed off, I had the Ahi tuna burger with chowder soup. I asked if the soup was included in the price which they said it was but the bill said otherwise. I went home feeling sick. Update on Review: Dec 2019. This is my second time visiting this restaurant, my first experience was exceptional..great food ..excellent service hence the reason I tried it a second time. This time around the service was rushed and very poor. I was not asked once if everything was ok until I was ready to pay the bill....like we were non existent. Firstly I asked for a substitute as I was not eating one of the paired items on the menu....35mins after we were told by our server for the night that the chef would not make any adjustments, we will have to order each item individually. That was such a turn off, as my first time visit they had substituted one of the item on the menu that I did not eat. To top it off this was my significant other birthday which was not enjoyable, after the main course we left as we couldn't endure such poor service. It was so disappointing after highly recommending this restaurant to family and friends. July 2019-Friendly staff. Excellent food and service.

Disappointed. It was my husband and mine 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday and we planned a nice trip to Victoria for a few days. When I phoned the Blue Crab restaurant I very specifically told them that we where coming in for dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant the manager seated us and we said that we where celebrating our anniversary, the most we got from him was a nod and a brief smile. When the waiter finally arrived and took our drink order still nothing was mentioned about our special day. At this point I excused my self to “go to the restroom” and approached the manager and asked “ does our reservation say it is our 25th anniversary tonight?” He said “ yes it does”. That’s when I gave up! It was apparent that our special 25 th anniversary was only special to us and not the restaurant, management or wait staff. If you want to be treated special, this is no the place to go!

While staying at the attached property I went here twice, and both times the service was super slow, night 1 over 20 minutes for a cup of soup. Just not a good experience. We tried booking 2 days ago. Nobody answers the phone during the day, they ask to cal back at 5pm. We called back and they couldn’t guarantee a table for the night. We then booked for today. We arrived and they couldn’t seat us because they didn’t open for 5 min. Once we sat down it just got worse. The menu has changed. Only 6 entrées? 2 of them are burgers? We asked about the seafood tower, we were told they didn’t have the staff to make the food they used to (explains why the menu is printed on a piece of computer paper). That same waiter then commented on how we were the people that called the other day and how we weren’t impressed then, he then said that the Blue Crab was nowfor 0 for 2 because we still weren’t impressed. We got up and left. We walked in the keg where they made us a custom plate of exactly what we were looking for. Worth the walk.

I wish I could write a review about the food but we couldn't try. We had a very disappointing experience. We stayed at the coast Victoria hotel for a friends birthday and wanted to spend a nice dinner at the restaurant. The host looked already annoyed when we asked for a table. We didn't have a reservation. After it took him a while to get back to us he accompanied us to a table. When we asked if we could change the table he got very rude, said how busy it is and that we just should sit down and try. He didn't try to offer an alternative and ignored us so we decided to have dinner in a different restaurant.

Went here for a conference dinner. It was a surf and turf meal and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were great. It was such a treat. The chocolate cake with raspberry sauce was yummy. They also have great views of the harbour. We were suppose to eat outside but unfortunately a late rain shower kept us indoors. The staff was really accommodating about moving us in one of the banquet rooms. It looked great. I would highly recommend that you eat here when visiting Victoria or host a conference dinner here if you are with a group. There is free parking for people who eat at the resturant which was great. There is a parking lot across the road if you need it though.

Since new management has taken over, Blue Crab has gone really downhill. This so-called seafood restaurant no longer has any seafood platters, and the only true seafood dishes on the menu are crab legs and a muscle starter. For a seafood restaurant, I would expect oysters, seafood platters, lobster, etc. Although this used to be amongst the better seafood restaurants in victoria (in the past), it's simply not the same. When we asked our server (who was amazing) why the restaurant no longer had any platters he explained the new management was cutting prices. Unfortunately, my visit was on Christmas eve which holds high expectations. I was expecting decorations and a special Christmas menu as they had last year, but I was extremely let down. The restaurant was not festive at all and the menu was extremely small with about 5 mains, all of which were pretty basic. Dessert only had two options and the chocolate lava cake we received was more like an undercooked packaged mug cake on a plate, dominos has better lava cakes. Sad to say I will not be back, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

3.0 star rating 25/7/2018 our dinner for 4 experience @ Blue Crab in Coast Hotel Victoria Q. When Does a 5 star VIEW = a quality and FIVE STAR fine dining experience. A. Depends. If the service is sincere and attentive, the hospitality warm. If all dishes are correctly executed. If the price demanded is the same as the menu offered. Our experience at Blue Crab last evening: The VIEW is wondrous. Watch the busy harbour: Seaplanes. Big Ferries, mini FERRIES. Boats. & more. It sparkles in the late afternoon sunshine. Located inside the Coast Hotel in James Bay, Blue Crab is an attractive comfortable restaurant. Complimentary underground parking, take lift up to lobby and restaurant. Arriving at our reservation time, no one at greeter station 'pls wait to be seated', we stood for several minutes. Given a 'windows on the world' table for four. Impressive. Wow factor views. Given a 'FRESH sheet', "specials of the day" menu. As we were catching up with 40 year friends, a very happy occasion, it was a great evening. We chose 48 dollar mains X 3 with the 'special' wine match, a local Chardonnay, @ 35 the bottle, as offered by the 'daily sheet' and confirmed by server. One 42 dollar main from the same 'daily sheet'. We pointed at the menu. He took the order. We opted for starters from the regular menu. Crab cakes really well executed dish 19 bucks for two little ones. A spicy aioli accompanied, as did a slaw. DELICIOUS. My fresh green salad 12 bucks also excellent. Toasted nuts. Fruity bits. Tasty balanced dressing. Generous portion. One of our party started with a chowder. Very good said he. 3 mains were the 'crabby halibut' daily special 48 bucks a pop. (HODGEPODGE said the menu) Luxury ingredients suggested. Topping of house special CRABmeat over the fish disappointed a little. no 'lumps', but wispy dry salty fibres suggestive of crab. 'Swimming in milk', as advertised. Wife's steelhead trout dish @ 42 bucks was one of the best mains she's ever had. Lightly deftly cooked. Moist delicious. (I know, she let me have a taste). Thumbs up. Service. As mentioned earlier, a tardy greeting / seating. Basic. Barely functional, not 'host of the year' stuff. No refilling of wine glasses. Ditto H2O. No one asked me whether "everything's all good ?" UNTIL he was clearing away the main plates, cryptically inquiring if he could get me a 'doggy bag' for my uneaten overcooked dry halibut! No thanks. IT'S OVERDONE. DON'T CARE TO EAT. The bill had no adjustment for the largely uneaten main. It included a 20 dollar OVERCHARGE for the clearly marked and confirmed by server (35 dollar 'matching' the halibut main dish), local Chardonnay which drank well for THAT price point. Inquiries at the pay station and requests to speak with a manager were brushed off. (NONE 'available') We paid as requested. Value? Starters excellent. 3 out of 4 mains ok. Wine good, then the 'over charge'. 70 bucks a head for the experience. Service as described. Rating in this forum? Is two a cruel rating? There were some fine moments. Is 3 stars too high? Can't call it a 4 / 5 , too many 'stumbles' for the 'fine dining' league. Tuff call. Can I ask the video referee? We took an average opinion of four diners arriving at 3.0. (As host, mine was a touch lower)

Our dining experience here was truly unforgettable. They gave us a window seat so we had an amazing view of the harbour while eating our dinner. Their seafood tasted fresh & delicious. We ordered crab cakes & clam chowder as appetizers. For our mains, we had king crab legs & seafood pasta. To finish our meals, we had the chocolate lava cake & creme brulee as our desserts. They were all delicious!! Carly(my loves❤️????)has delivered exceptional service. We just love her jolly attitude. Totally recommend to eat here when you’re in Victoria ????????

Excellent service at Blue Crab: we were shown by the hostess to a table that had opened up with a stunning sunset view of the harbour, and had swift, respectful attention from our knowledgeable server. After some ginger beers and delicious warm rosemary sourdough bread we were served the Pacific salmon over crab cakes and a Thai seafood dish over forbidden black rice, with a side order of fresh crab legs to share. All were served beautifully and each seafood morsel was cooked to perfection. We were sincerely impressed and although we had happened upon the restaurant while out for a stroll, would definitely plan a return visit.

My husband and I went to the Blue Crab last evening for a much anticipated dinner. The wine list started at $50.00 and went up from there. We had a starter of crab cakes that were OK, but not worth the $17.00 price tag. Our main entree was beef tenderloin, lobser tail and side vegetables. The vegetables were all undercooked, you could not pierce them with your fork, We asked for medium well meat and received medium rare, however it was very good. the lobster tail was extremely small, no clarified butter but served with a bernaise sauce that was disgusting. I have never tasted a bernaise sauce like in my life. The dinner was extremely disappointing. The view was nice and the servers very nice. The service was also very good, but I would not recommend dining here because of the quality of the food does not match the price.

My wife and I ordered the prawn pasta, to our surprise we got this big bowl that contained no more than 6 ounces of penne with some good tasting seafood sauce that included 4 small shrimps that measured no more than one inch each and that cost us $ 26 where our friend ordered fish and chips that cost him $ 28, $ 2 more for 10 times the amount we thought it was an insult to our intelligence to see this big of a difference. You don't have to worry about us going back there nor our friends. Murr

The lobster poutine was amazing so hats off to the kitchen crew; our hostess was okay, but our waiter was very subpar. Said waiter came off instantly as inhospitable and gave obvious nonverbal cues of being clearly uninterested serving our table. I only gave a minor tip because of consideration of group seating with visiting relatives; otherwise in a table 4 or less, this outing would've had absolute zero plus a speaking to management. However, I'm going to refrain naming said server in this review for the sake of possibly returning for a second chance. All I ask in the future is one who would at least smile, have basic form of proper customer service, and ask how our food was instead of hurrying us to decide what else to order while eating. Overall absolute disappointment for a birthday experience today.

So bummed, snow crab was mushy and not much there. My husbands dinner halibut and prawns with risotto was nothing outstanding. We both left unsatisfied. So sorry we paid to take a taxi out there. The view was nice.

Great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Often get the 'Beau special' for breakfast, salmon brioche for lunch, or that scallop and prawn for dinner. All good choices. Staff is alway friendly! nothing better than getting to know people at your favorite locations around town.

This was a special date night. Made reservations last Saturday night for 6:45 pm. We arrived early and sat in the lounge until our table was ready. After seated at out table and given menus we never got any service for over 20 minutes, almost like we didn't exist. Finally when we did get service it seemed to take a long tome for dinner to arrive and when it finally did just short of 8 pm my dates Halibut was RAW... The server took both dinners away and we didnt get any dinner back until almost 8:30 pm when we were ready to leave. The server gave us a bill with a slight discount which was actually insulting. One of the worst dinner experences since I have recently moved to Victoria.

The seafood is absolutely amazing and the view is spectacular. I've had quite a bit from the menu including breakfast (also delicious). It's a little on the pricier side, but worth every penny. Hotel guests get a discount on weeknights as well which is an added perk for travelers.

The view from the restaurant is beautiful. The menu sounds fantastic. I had the seafood platter for two with my wife. The seafood was fresh and the steak was cooked quite nice. The risotto on the other hand was bland and tasteless. It was disappointing since the steak,shrimp and scallops were served in it. Not the best seafood in Victoria.

A little leery about eating at a hotel chain, but the Blue Crab is superb. The calamari, with jalapenos and a fantastic pepper sauce, was one of the best anyone at the table had had. The rest of the meal did not disappoint. Then, when we asked to call a taxi, they sent us to our hotel in their shuttle. Above and beyond!

My wife and I came here recently for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We were looking for a place with a broad seafood selection, and there were surprisingly few places we could find that had a full range of lobster, crab, and other shellfish options (in addition to the usual salmon, halibut, etc.). The Blue Crab's menu looked the most appealing, so we went ahead with it. Overall, we were very pleased with our visit. We started with the seasonal pumpkin soup, which was very tasty, and tried the cedar plank salmon and king crab legs for mains. Both were very nicely cooked and had great flavor. The service was friendly and unobtrusive, while the view over the harbor was a nice complement to the meal. The overall ambience was classy without being too formal. I would have no concern recommending the Blue Crab to anyone in Victoria looking for a great seafood menu.
