This is an excellent restaurant. The food is delicious and diversified and they have a good selection of alcoholic beverages. The ambiance is very relaxing and the bar is comfortable to sit at. I really enjoyed the windows over the lake and the view you get to enjoy.

Can't beat the location. I received very friendly service, but I felt like I was forgotten a little bit. The food was very good. I loved my Canadian cheesesteak sandwich and the apple dessert was very good. Prices are pretty much on par with what I expected.

The service was friendly but the food left me very disappointed. My nachos were burnt black and only about 20% of it had cheese half of which had also been burnt to the chip. The fries are clearly not fresh and tasted quite dry, and the juices from the salad made my quesadillas soggy. I likely won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Food was not as tasty as I was hoping. I ordered the drunken shrimp and had hoped for more veggies given the description. Server was great. View across the lake is great. Obviously a popular spot as we arrived too late (6pm) to snag a spot on the patio on a weekday evening without a reservation.

Good food and service. We had the taco salad and fish & chips. Unfortunately, no cold draft beer available today as their beer fridge was on the blink. Luckly, they had cold tall cans of creemore on hand. Have to mention the wonderful lake view from the outdoor deck. There is also a great wooden walkway and paved bike path a long lake Temiskaming.

Last couple of meals there have been lackluster at best. Small serving sizes. Don't order the rice. I've ordered it a couple times, and every time it was a letdown. It used to be my go to restaurant in New Liskeard, but that will change. Staff are always very pleasant, and professional.

First visit was a five star last October, but this time, it wasn't off-season.......what a difference. Food was still pretty tasty, however, the service was very disappointing. We were seated by a very pleasant lady and right away a young girl came over for drinks, and that was good too.We were feeling positive and enjoying the view...... Then our waitress came and took our order she wasn't overly pleasant but we were enjoying our drinks anyways,and at that time I asked if we could get a couple waters with our dinners. Our dinner arrived, but when we flagged her down to ask about the water , her reply was " Well I'm VERY busy". ....What??? .........another girl brought our water. And then we didn't see anyone else again . No one asked if we wanted another beer, or any dessert. No one came with our bill or asked if we were done.....So we just went to the bar and paid our bill and left. But we did notice our blonde waitress who was so terribly busy spent at least 10 minutes at the table for 10 chatting it up and laughing....VERY BUSY WITH HER FRIENDS......

I enjoyed a few meals here weeks ago during my stay in New Liskeard. The food is unbelievably tasty and the staff are extremely attentive, courteous and kind. A special thanks to Evan for his talented chef skills (YUM!), and a special thanks to Silvie for her friendly demeanour and laughing with me at my silly stories. I definitely recommend visiting 28 on the lake, bring your appetite and then enjoy a nice walk on the shore :)

First time here and not a good experience. The food was good but we didn't like having to fight off the flies to get to the food. The server and manager even saw us constantly trying to swat the flies away and didn't say or do anything about it. When I mentioned it at the end of the meal the server just said there isn't much they could do about it. I won't be back nor will I ever recommend this place.

Roosters is one of local watering holes, located downtown it is popular on the weekends as it is walking distance to the bars and the beach and for the ever popular thurdsay wing night. In fact, in the summer months they have a patio which overlooks Lake Temiskaming, on the shores of which the restaurant sits, and it gives a very beautiful atmosphere to the dining experience. Rarely, if ever, have I had a problem with the food, Roosters is one of the most frequented places my friends and I go to for coffee and/or dinner, so often are we customers, the waitresses now know us by name. The decor is an eclectic collection of antiques and curious objects, the booths are comfortable and I can genuinely say it is one of my favorite places to eat :)

Our friends invited my family for the all-you-can-eat fish night. We thought is was all-you-can-eat fish & chips but they didn't bring more chips. I was glad I could order Dr. Pepper to drink...and get a free refill. The restaurant was busy. If you are in a rush, go to McDonald's. If you have time to wait, I think you'll enjoy the food.

Only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a five, well two reasons, one is the pickle garnish added to my hot chicken sandwich, and two prices of the main entrees. I really wish restaurants would note this on their menu items since there are many like me I'm sure who find these slimy green items vile!

Our entire table all three pasta dishes the pasta was very doughy not cooked very well. Also the chicken tetrazzini I had had no flavour to it whatsoever. I've been coming to this restaurant over the past 10 years and the serving sizes have drastically decreased not a good place if you're looking to get a good size meal for your dollar. Other than that the staff is great!

had reservations for 9:00. pretty regular customers. come every wing night and order take out often. it seems they overbooked the table or didn't tell the group ahead of us that the table was reserved for 9:00. we wait for 25 minutes. still not able to have our table. they offer us two smaller tables. near the band. can't even hear our own thoughts, let alone have a conversation with our group. good thing zante's also has wing night the same night!

the best night is Liskeard is the one spent at Rooster's. this place has it all; great food, live entertainment (you have to see Steve Benoit sing!!!) and a great atmosphere. try to get there on a warm night and have dinner on their gorgeous patio right on the water. its absolutely stunning.

Last time we were here was 10 years ago and we were going to college in Haileybury. It was called Roosters then and has since gone through a name change. Name might have change but the quality in food is still stellar if not better. Our waitress was great, very prompt and cheerful! Views were amazing! Can’t wait until we can come back!

Been here a few times and have always had a tasty meal. Service was good. Since it is a popular place on weekends and during high/peak season you can expect a bit of a wait. It is a good idea to call ahead for reservations if you are heading there with a group or want to make sure you have a table.

I would recommend the waterfront inn and roosters to everyone. Well appointed rooms. All the art is spa like so you are immediately relaxed. Everyrhing is thought of. A fridge and microwave too. The continental breakfast is fresh and they even have maple syrup and honey. Wondefdul place to stay...wait til you see the view of the lake

It would be a passable restaurant even outside of Liskeard. it's expensive for the area but better prices than in a real city. Wait times can be long and sometimes you feel rushed to leave (it's really the only "nice" restaurant in town, but I've never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend the capalletti.

our airbnb host suggested Roosters for dinner, and we were super happy. We had pickerel and a burger and some drinks. the prices are very reasonable, and the view of lake temiskaming is so beautiful. It's close to the beach, but the restaurant has a tasteful barrier to maintain a private vibe. great music. friendly staff.

I cannot say enough about the accommodating, professional staff and amazing food at this little local gem! I was visiting family this past week and came to 28 on the Lake for dinner twice. Once with a reservation and once without. My Mom is in a wheelchair and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a space that accommodated our needs. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the owner wanting to ensure all was well and to say hello! The wait staff were all very welcoming, friendly and efficient and oh my, the chef!! The food was incredible. When we left, each staff member thanked us for coming and we just cannot state enough how much we enjoyed both our visits. They certainly won’t be our last! Keep up the amazing work and continue with those extra touches-they really are appreciated and go a long way ????

Hubby & I had dinner here on patio last night. First patio meal out for 1 1/2 years. Food was excellent. Chicken Parmesan was generous & very tasty. Cheese capaletti was very tasty too. Staff was excellent. Only downside was their new wooden wall is to high to see lake over, but otherwise really nicely done. We’ll definitely be back.

Mediocre food at Best but trying to put off a sports bar as a upper class restaurant. We had a reservation and got seated right away. So far from the deck we thought we were at the next door neighbors. The waitress was slow and didnt bring requested items more then once. Went 08/15/20 8pm res for 8 people. The cousin ordered some sort of chip as a side and it was really good.

My wife had the poutine and it was fantastic. I had the single serve deluxe pizza. Amazing! Fresh toppings and homemade thin crust. I could not eat it all because we started the meal with battered cheese curds. OMG! The curds were simply “to die for.” I suggest anyone attend this restaurant if they are in the area.

Place has great potential and I'll go again if I'm ever in the area ( im 8 hours away) ordered the prime rib, hesitant at the price and it was over cooked and the veggies were under cooked but the manager was great and took $15 off the bill and we added it to the young servers tip, server was awesome and took great care to keep us happy. The view is fantastic so be sure to enjoy a drink on the patio

Stunning. The view from the restaurant is worth the visit itself. The food is consistently good. Most recently I had the pizza, artisanal in style and quite brilliant. It’s not usual to find this sort of quality in remote locations. The bar is beautiful, they have it all, everything you would expect and more. Recommend.

Stopped in here for dinner while travelling for work. Spacious restaurant with lots of windows overlooking the waterfront. The staff were very friendly and conversational. On recommendation from my server, I ordered the smoked meat sandwich with sweet potato fries (apparently a popular dish there). Sandwich was tasty, with nicely-done beef and a great mustard sauce. Sweet potato fries were good as well. Craft beer selection could have been bigger (would have liked a nice IPA), but there were some Mill Street options available. Overall, a pleasant dining experience. I would happily come back next time I'm in town. A few more craft beer options would turn this into a 5-star restaurant for me.
