This restaurant is located in a beautiful old house where you can eat inside or on a the charming porch. I had the excellent Mediterranean pizza as well as an heirloom tomato and mozzarella appetizer. Food was excellent and the glass of house wine for $8 can't be beat!

Finally got a chance to come to the Combine. I’ve been wanting to visit for almost acouple years now!! And it was everything I’d hoped it would be! Ambience was lovely, beautiful grounds and landscaping. We were seated in the tent, so nice to have a proper tent instead of just an umbrella. The menu was phenomenal and it was hard choosing which options to go with. I love that The food is all fresh and local. The flavours and ingredients are well thought out and pair together beautifully. Cocktail list is very impressive and drinks are beautifully presented. We had a lovely evening and ended up taking friends back afew weeks later. The menu had changed and everything was once again fantastic!! The house is and old Victorian home with a lot of the originally architecture preserved. It is absolutely gorgeous…can’t wait to eat inside! Bathrooms are spacious, up to date and very clean. We will be returning often for sure!!

After hearing from many folks about this restaurant, I finally endeavoured. Nestled just off the main road in Simcoe lies this home-turned-restaurant. Immediately, you’re greeted, and it is apparent that the staff are passionate about what they do. Fresh ingredients, exciting dishes, and a welcoming but up-beat atmosphere. As a newcomer to the area, I was delighted to find this gem. Be sure to inquire about their specials!

Amazing experience!!! Tonight was the first time I have ever stepped into the restaurant and the first thought was how homie it was!!! Everyone, staff and customers, were very inviting and friendly! Our meals were amazing!! I would suggest the stone oven pizza to anyone or the burger!! I am sure that the entire menus is amazing, those were just the dishes we had! Great experience and can not to wait to go back!!!!

My husband and I had an amazing date night at the Combine! There's plenty of parking, it feels intimate and cozy, and if course the food was divine. They had a great beer menu for the hubby, great non alcoholic beverages for my pregnant self, and the portion sizes were so much larger than we thought they would be. We look forward to making this a frequent visit, given the menu changes every few weeks!

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. The food, service and ambiance are fantastic. I didn’t feel stuffed even though the portions were very generous. There wasn’t the usual thirst for gallons of water that I experience after eating out because of the over-use of salt that some restaurants use. The chicken tasted the way chicken tasted in the old days. I could go on and on so I’ll stop here and simply say you gotta try this place.

I've been a regular at The Combine since it opened back in 2013 and it is always a wonderful meal--amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere! I actually find many of the negative reviews here very amusing...The Combine is not The Keg or any other chain/franchise restaurant. The Combine prepares their dishes from scratch, using local, fresh meat, cheese and produce, often from their own garden in the backyard behind the restaurant, not from large restaurant food suppliers like you see at other chain restaurants. Therefore, if you want quality, you gotta pay for quality but trust me, it's worth it! If you don't see the value in the delicious locally-raised, locally-grown, locally produced and scratch-made food at The Combine, then take yourself back to Boston Pizza and enjoy your microwaved meal and forget the negative review. Ryan and the staff at The Combine work too hard, especially in these challenging times, to have your ill-informed opinion make their jobs even harder! Keep up the awesome job, Ryan and staff...The Combine truly is a gem in the local restaurant scene! ❤ you guys!

Excellent service, as always. The pizza was good, but for the first time I found it overpriced for the amount and variety of toppings. If you’re going to charge that much for a personal pizza, it should be overflowing with tasty and unique toppings and MUCH more cheese ???? The coffee, as I’ve said before, is excellent. The variety of dessert did not encourage indulgence...but hopefully on our next visit the will have more selection ????

Was highly recommended by a friend, drove one hour to get there and we arrived 45 mins after the restaurant opened. When my wife and I walked in all but one table was empty, the hostess asked if we had reservations we replied no and then she had informed us that they there completely booked for the rest for the night do to every table being reserved. Hard to believe that they don't take walk ins, was very unhappy. The Keg never say's no to my one hundred dollars.

Wow! The Combine is an excellent restaurant where they converted a residential building into a cute little classy eatery. Classiness generally comes with a price, but it was worth the money. They have a decent selection of craft beer and wine, and their gluten free option is better than most. Gluten free pizza crust and a few dishes that are naturally gluten free (short ribs for example) makes the experience that much better.The servers are also knowledgeable regarding gluten free choices.

No one liked cold hollandaise sauce on eggs. Even when we asked for more sauce warmed up, it wasn't any warmer than what was initially served. My burger was good (the lamb burger), but my friends were disappointed with the food. And I was there one suggested this place setting all the reviews.

I came from out of town and dinned here several nights ago and had the half rack of ribs. The menu was locally based which is great, but the prices were a premium. The restaurant came off as a more of a casual atmosphere but the prices reflected those of a fine dining one, somewhere like The Keg comes to mind. Local ingredients or not $25 for a half rack of ribs, $25 for fried chicken, $37 for tenderloin and $18 for mac and cheese (with no extras) does not reflect casual dining prices. As far as the meal went my ribs were served directly on top of the mashed potatoes (I guess they weren't messy enough to eat to begin with?). The potatoes were also heavily whipped taking away from their flavor. I also found the ribs to be a little overcooked and one of them was quite fatty. The baked beans served with it were also congealed from sitting in a warmer for too long. If I wasn't pressed for time it would have all went back to the kitchen. Hopefully the kitchen was just having a very busy or off night, but quality control needs to be maintained and should not be the responsibility of the customer. Overall poorly representing local ingredients and flavors from Norfolk and over charging for it, what a shame.

first visit on the 25th of Sept 2021...wait staff was pleasant but food was sub par...beef tenderloin was tough and also tendons and veins were present not a choice cut of tenderloin by far...was given a 10% reduction on a $55 3 course meal...should have sent it back in hind site. Will not being going back. There are far better Restaurants in Norfolk County.

Had an amazing dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The staff are overwhelmingly friendly and made made us feel very welcome. It's nice to have a restaurant that serves fresh, local, and artisan dishes. Being able to celebrate all that Norfolk offers in a relaxed, homey, yet classy atmosphere is amazing. The food was fantastic and the protions were are perfect. Not too big and not too small - you will leave satisfied. The drink menu was able to highlight local craft breweries and wineries. We had a bottle of Burning Kiln -Strip Room and loved it. There was relaxing dinner music playing theought the restaurant but it wasn't overbearing. The menu changes every few weeks to showcase what is in season locally. We love the idea and will be back soon to see what is new. We will definitely be back. Pandemic related info: Vaccine Passports and ID was checked.at the door, masks were worn by all staff and visitors away from their tables, and the tables were 6ft apart.

We've been waiting to come here for years when we were in the area and we finally made it out. The restaurant is great. We made a reservation ahead of time and sat on the patio. The server was super friendly and made some excellent suggestions. She was very attentive as well. We had the corn dog bites to start which was a great dish and the mustard was a great compliment. For dinner we had the coconut curry braised beef and the buttermilk chicken dishes. We loved both of them. Lastly for dessert we both opted to try the spiced Chocolate torte which if you still have room for dessert you have to try. We wanted to buy a whole dish of that to bring home with us. Overall excellent service, amazing food and great ambiance. We would definitely come back and we'll tell all our friends. Thanks for having us.

What a lovely restaurant. We 5 all had a wonderful dinner. Even thought I had my lobster lasagna to go as the one served to me was a bit burnt. Amanda our server, having just heard me say how I was so looking forward to this new item on the menu, very quickly and professionally whisked it off the table and back to the kitchen. Thank you to my family for letting me nibble away off their plates...lol. A fresh lasagna was given to me to take home no charge for either. Always a great family time at the Combine.

My husband and I were married here in the middle of July this summer. It was amazing!!!! The food was the best wedding food that any of our guests had ever had, the staff were great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was phenomenal. My boyfriend and I came for dinner on a Saturday night around 7pm. When we got there, they initially told us it would be a half hour wait, but asked us to wait momentarily while they took another look. We had come into Simcoe to see a friend's play at 8pm, so we were short on time. Then to our delight, they were able to find us a table for two. We ordered a beet and goat cheese salad (good but a little tart for me), a really tasty burger (so juicy), fish tacos (soooo yum) and a side of baked brussel sprouts with parmesan (very good). When the server found out about our play she made sure to get our food out super quick, and her service was very attentive. Atmosphere is very romantic, cozy and rustic, loved it. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area. PS: we're convinced the house next door is magical.

The only reason I rated this 5 stars is because 6 wasn't an option. We have dined here several times, have brought friends from out of town and every single time it is exceptional. The service is always fantastic, the ever-changing menu always has something for everyone, the decor is great AND it's locally sourced! We enjoy supporting local business and The Combine NEVER lets us down! It's become our go-to place for celebrations and meeting to catch up with old friends. Even when they have a full house, the servers are very attentive and friendly. We've never had an issue and have no hesitation bringing guests who drive over an hour just to dine here. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to come back again!!

Love the staff here and the food is good, but needs an update so regulars can have some variety. The only reason it isn't a 5 star is the seating. We often are seated so close to other tables that it's awkward. Some tables are loud and we can't enjoy a romantic dinner or just a quiet night out without kids because we are so crowded. We have chosen other, worse restaurants just to avoid the seating issue

Technically 2 1/2 to 3 stars. Nice place, good server, fast enough. Very little ambiance considering it’s a cool old house. ..the music was actually a little intrusive. I had the steak and I’ve had a better steak at Montana’s which is not saying a lot. This is a $58 three-course meal for that price I expect more than 3.5 ounces of sliced steak with some gravy, a bunch of mashed potatoes and some root vegetables that were hard as a toothbrush. Only a few bites of the steak were actually chewable. And I left a bunch of chewed meat on the plate. My Caesar salad was not super fresh but that’s ok. My partner was pleased with her chicken mashed potatoes and root vegetables though. We agreed our desserts (Crème brûlée, cannoli) we’re average to nothing special. I think that the average restaurant, and the average patron have settled for “mediocre”as good These days possibly due to the pressure of being home from Covid. So in the end this is an entrée/salad and dessert for 58 bucks. Given Covid And the pressures on a business, I am More than willing to lower my expectations. But I say hard pass on this restaurant unless you like mediocre overpriced food.

I have dined at The Combine on two occasions, both were very pleasant. On the first occasion, my husband and I ordered the primavera dish with no meat. As an appetizer we shared an order of mussels. We liked the mussels and absolutely loved the primavera dish. Often meat free cuisine is tasteless but not this time. I would definitely order it again. I should mention that the homemade bread was divine. The second time we brought my son his girlfriend. We were all very pleased and it turned out to be a great evening. We had the same server, I wish I could remember her name. She is excellent and surprisingly sophisticated (Simcoe is a small town). There is a male server there with a ponytail who greeted us as well. He is so friendly and happy, it is impossible not to smile when he looks at you. The restaurant itself is a beautiful, converted old house with lots of woodwork with a large porch. The Combine is a charming place to dine and you won't be dissatisfied.

I wanted to order takeout on a Saturday night. I was about 20 minutes away and ordered online. I received a screen that said my order was placed. I arrived at the restaurant and checked my email. The email said my order did not go through and I didn’t understand. I couldn’t check my email while I was driving. I figured they could order my takeout no problem. Apparently their online ordering is shut down. I received no phone call or anything. The email that said my order wasn’t placed came 15 minutes after I placed it. This is supposed to be a nicer restaurant and the lady said there was nothing she could do. I am so sick of restaurants making up hours due to covid that doesn’t match their social media listings. She could have even given me an appetizer. The restaurant was not busy at all. Now I have to find dinner elsewhere and have another 20 minute drive home. I passed this place before and wanted to go there. After this experience, I will take my business elsewhere.

The restaurant is kinda in old home that is nicely decorated and has surprisingly enough room to be comfortable while eating. The waitresses were extremely kind and had us seated almost as soon as we arrived. The menu is a bit more pricey then you would think, I believe the bill was $65 for two the two of us. We had the perch taco (it is just a taco not taco"s") it's $6.50 just for one of those, but it was pretty good. But for $6.50 I'll be skipping those. The other diner ordered "TAGLIATELLE PRIMAVERA" and did not finish due to the "excess use of pesto", other notes made were that the charred kale was out of place in the dish. I ordered the "COMBINE BURGER" and it was nothing to really write home about, I didn't much enjoy the grainy mustard that was on the burger. The '352' Ketchup is great tho. Great place with amazing staff who know all about the food they serve and the drinks as well .Great food all made fresh ,if you want chicken it takes a few extra minutes as it is cooked to order so amazing ,an appetizer may be necessary if your hungary and need food fast ????????????

Amazing! From the moment our party of 6 walked through the door, until we left, it was amazing. The food, the service, the drinks. I don't think any of us could say one negative thing about this place. The prices were amazing, the portions were awesome, and the food was to die for! Thanks for a great experience. The atmosphere was really nice! We sat on the patio and it was perfect. The drinks are delicious - even if you're pregnant and can't drink alcohol they have some tasty refreshing selections which I really appreciate. The food was delicious!!! The service was excellent, no complaints about the servers or how long anything took. Would definitely come back!!!

Great staff, amazing location of the serene beaten path. They have this house Sangria they make with vodka that is great. Had a steak and lobster tail. my steak was awesome...but my dates was rough, I mean really rough. I dont understand what happened there. But over all it was a good experience except for that moment. I will go back again (and make sure my date enjoys her steak before in case we have to send it back to the kitchen which we should have). Other than that it was really good.

First time at The Combine, it was a great experience! The waiter that served us had an interesting and unique personality, also was very knowledgeable of the menu. Had the chicken breast and Norfolk ABC pizza, both were excellent and tasteful. Did not have to wait long, would definitely recommend. Dined there Tuesday, August 7
