It’s what you expect from a buffet. It’s not anything that you would get for a fancy meal, it’s not anything that will leave you craving more, and it’s nothing special at all. There is a lot to choose from, but the wide variety of food kind of lowers the overall quality of each item, in my opinion. It’s good enough for a filling meal, if you’re starving, but there isn’t much that makes me want to go back for more. Decent prices, overall, and it’s not too bad, but it’s nothing special at all.

Our family always books here for my grandpa's birthday. They are always super welcoming and helpful! The managers are super helpful. I was able to come in early to decorate in our own personal room as well. The food is great, be sure to try the chicken! The only downside is that there isn't very many vegetarian options. Although, staff are knowledgeable in what is vegetarian friendly which is always nice.

Almost everything we ate was cold or lukewarm. Most of the food had a film over it because it had been sitting under the warmer for a while and was not fresh. It was also extremely expensive. We will not be returning.

I will start with the good, the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. The food was mediocre for the most part with a mix of American and Asian. Many things are the frozen then deep fried variety that you would expect. But the borscht was gag inducing. I love borscht but I have never encountered borscht with BBQ sauce. I had one mouthful and gagged. My friend thought I had to be joking, tried a mouthful and after several minutes of trying to get the taste of of her mouth agreed it tasted like BBQ sauce. Not a little bit for flavour but like that pot had never even encountered a beet.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here in July with about three dozen or so friends and relatives. The larger conference room was perfect for our needs, especially with the manned bar, the sound system and giant video screen. The owner very kindly offered us the use of a huge Oriental banner from China, which overjoyed my wife. The staff were wonderful. All in all, we were very happy with the entire experience... and no one left hungry!

I've gone to Smiley's a few times, and it has been pretty good each time. They have a large variety of foods there, westernized Chinese and North American. They have a sushi station too, which I've never tried. Lots of deserts, everything I've tried tastes great. The only downside is that the parking lot sucks, and be hard to find a spot during the busy hours.

I dont know if Smiley's is just over the top fresh on Sundays because its Sunday or if this is an always thing, but I have to say one of the best food buffets I've had the pleasure of sitting down and consuming!! I will need to go back on another day to confirm this is a consistent experience but for now....Wow!! I do recommend they remind their staff to smile...this should be a realistic expectation with the name!

If you're looking to clog your arteries, Smiley's is for you. I don't see what there's to smile about. Everything is deep fried, and the sushi is dissappoining. Might as well ot even put anything on the roll because the salmon is paper thin, all I taste is rice. The rolls are so full of rice yoy might as well kust get a bowl of it. You pay for what you get though. Cheap proce for poor quality food. 3 stars because it's literally a buffe of Chinese take out.

where to begin. the service is absolutely horrible. we waited to be seated for almost 7 minutes and when we finally were seated, she said " *sigh* this way." then when we arrived at our table? she just left, audibly sighing again. nobody came and asked us for drinks, We waited 5 minutes or so and nobody. so we went to the front counter and asked for some drinks, the guy said "oh yeah right away." after 10 minutes and nearly finishing our food, still no drinks. we go to pay our bill, we were charged for drinks we never received. and the guy argued with us trying to tell us we did get them! Since when is it ok to argue aggressively with your customers? over cola!?!? Credit where credit is due, the food was decent buffet quality food. but with service that awful? i'll take my business somewhere where i don't have to prove i didn't get something i was charged for. ridiculous.

Their fried chicken was really fried, so fried it was hard and dry. And I like chicken! Their rice and noodles lacked flavor! The walls are dirty and the casing/molding or whatever has a layer or 4 of dust, same with their fake windows. It wouldnt be that hard to wipe them down when they do the tables. DISGUSTING

Service was great and fast. The price was way too high. The quality of food was awful. The fries were way too salty. The chicken balls were hard as a rock and most things were bland. The sushi and dessert was the best part. Extremely disappointing. Not worth the price. Most exspensive buffet I have ever been to. Steaks were tender at least and clean bathrooms. Don't think I'll come back though. You have to pay upfront for a drink you may not even want. The lemon chicken had no lemon flavour at all.

I have been to Smiley's for several events and I don't find Smiley's food particularly well prepared. Nothing stands out as good and some things are quite dissapoining. If I am craving something that Smiley's serves I will always opt to go to a restaurant that specializes in that food instead.

Went on seafood Friday. As with any buffet there was stuff I loved ???? and stuff I could do without. The lemon pepper basa was excellent. I really loved their beet borsh. Their mashed potatoes weren't very good nor their gravy. Their rice pudding was pretty good as well.

Attended this buffet for the first -and last- time yesterday. The food was flavorless, watered down, greasy and a number of other awful combinations. Jello was dry, chow mein was flavorless and greasy, Singapore noodles were completely flavorless. Many of the meats looked as if they had been out well past expiring. We were there for a Christmas gathering and I noticed several other large parties mid dinner time! We started shortly after 6 so there is no excuse for old food. The veggies at the salad bar were mushy and far from fresh tasting. The desserts were obviously old, the rice pudding had formed a hard, dark brown layer and should not have been out to be served. The only thing that was worth eating was the soft serve. Ice cream at $17.50 unlimited at a buffet is a little much... luckily I was here for a work dinner and had my dinner paid for so no money lost on my part. Very thankful to have spent time with my co-workers and glad for their company, just not the food. Will not be back.

I found it absolutely terrible. I paid $40 for my boyfriend and i to go out and eat cold food? The plates we grabbed were dirty so we grabbed other ones that didn’t seem clean either. The food LOOKED appealing but when we started to eat it, it was cold and had some to almost no flavour. I didn’t want to argue with the staff so I just paid and left, but left hungry and with a stomach ache.

All Chinese food was very fresh, egg rolls hot and full of tastey filling, crisp outside, not greasy at all, stir fry chicken full of quality white meat, same with chicken balls pure breast meat, fried rice so yummy, many lovely sushi pieces again kept full nothing run out, 2 kinds of soup, amazing ribs as it was Rib Tuesday, Greek and honey garlic thick big ribs tender and seasoned perfectly and everything was just replenished very quickly so it was all excellent. Extremely good salad bar, many fruits, watermelon, pineapple, melons and tons of fresh veg plus many different salads like macaroni, marinated beans, loads more. Their fried fish was moist and tastey, perogiese cooked to perfection, lovely real mash potatoes, potato wedges crisp on the outside tender and moist inside, too many dishes to name but most of all I was impressed with how the food was kept refilled despite the place being very busy. Lovely dessert choices, pies, cakes, ice cream, sticky toffee pudding, delish creamy rice pudding, tarts, cupcakes and more again all kept clean and loaded up. They didnt run out of a thing. FAR FAR BETTER VALUE THAN SABAROSOS WHOSE BAR DISHES ARE DRY AND SEEM DAYS OLD. Free pop with your meal plus a good choice of drinks you add on. Staff at Smilies was not attentive but really they aren't needed. I never saw my server again after I sat down so tipped accordingly. Would have preferred to tip cooks and fellows running to keep the food all so lovely and replenished. Best value place I have eaten at. The decor is really old, a bit run down looking and ugly but clean enough and the place is huge and you have plenty of room to move despite the place being very busy. I know I'm missing listing a lot of food choices but I would FULLY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. $17.50 for adult. I see there is a senior 65 plus discount and they get free add on drinks too. Go hungry. You won't ne disappointed. I wish they would make the decor nicer and that the staff was more interested in taking away used plates but again, not a biggy as you can just drop your own plate in a bus tray sitting all over and you can get fresh plates and cutlery yourself. If you want to order more drinks you might have to hunt the server down. My guy was really cold and bored sounding but I didnt care. Food made up for it.

For a buffet place, their sushi is just amazing! I can't believe I have never been here in 9 years! Definitely give it a try! The food here are overall more flavorful than great China buffet(but you might found it's too salty for you which I don't mind), my thoughts? 1. Keep up the good work with that sushi. 2. Calamari is too salty, even for me. 3. Their pop is free refill! Last time I checked, great China buffet didn't have it and their liquor is at a reasonable price. 4. They have beet and my kid loves it! 5. Their Thai mussel is definitely the best in town! If you don't mind little bit spice, give it a try, I ate three whole plates and still didn't have enough of it!

Is it possible to give negative stars!?!? I am appalled by the service here. Took my two young sons for supper last night (2 and 7). The 7 year old was following the server to the table to be seated with my 2 year old behind him and myself following. When we almost get to the table my 2 year old trips and falls on his face and starts screaming and crying ( he was also holding a large toy car that hit his face) so I pick him up and console him in the booth, getting him to calm down. It lasted all of 20 to 30 seonds until I got him calm enough to ask what was hurting so I could check him, when I heard a tapping on the table. I ignored it because as a dad my child comes first, especially when hurt, yet the incessant tapping continued as well as someone asking a question. I took a couple more seconds to make sure my 2 year old was good and turned to see the server standing at the table tapping a pen on the table saying "drinks?". I put aside my annoyance and politely asked my 7 year old what he would like to drink. He asks the server "what kind of pop do you have?" She says "Pepsi". I said "Pepsi. Only Pepsi?" She sighs and says "Pepsi products". I take a deep breath and ask "what would that entail"? (She still is tapping the pen on the table) She replies " Pepsi, sprite..." Then paused for about 5 seconds and when she realized I was going to wait quickly says "root beer, dr. Pepper." My son asks for his drink and the adventure begins. I go and get a plate, and have a nice piece of fried chicken on it. I eat some of the food on the plate, then go to dive into the fried chicken, and that's when I see it. A hair. Now I have long hair so I initially thought it was mine, So i go to pick it off...and it's fried into the batter. That's it, appetite ruined. I nicely wait and allow my kids to eat their full and get deserts etc. I waited until there was no one else and the table directly beside us as they were almost done when this happened, then I nicely pointed out to the server that there was a hair in the deep fried batter of the chicken. She picks it up, tries to pull the hair out and can't , shrugs her shoulders and says "oh well" and walks off and dumps the plate out. Seriously, I don't even have words to describe my frustration. For the simple fact that there were a lot of little kids there and what appeared to be a night for mothers of some sort ( judging by the room of moms dressed up and the roses to be given to them) I couldn't say anything because it probably wouldn't have been good. I've been to this buffet a lot and my older son who wasn't with us at the time has this place as his eatery of choice, yet I will NEVER go back. I will tell every person I know to stay away, I won't go for my kids sports roundups, nothing. I have read a lot of reviews on here and not once has the owner ever responded. I don't expect him too, especially if this is the kind of service you get. Completely disgusted and will let everyone know.

Every time I'm in Saskatoon I have to stop here for one meal. The large amount of options on the buffet that they present means you can go a couple times and not try everything. The food itself has always been good quality. By that I mean it is thoroughly cooked, tastes great, and is presented well. The staff are also a bonus here. They are polite and generally have a pleasant attitude.

Had used a birthday coupon so only had to pay for 1 buffet. $25 for their buffet seems a but high as nothing really stood out in regards to food or service. We had to pay even before being seated which I didn't mind but then it prompts a tip on the debit machine... How can you tip when you haven't even received any service. I guess you could put 0 and then maybe leave something on the table...if you have cash on hand. Don't know if I will be back anytime soon

The food was good, certainly not gourmet, but if you're real hungry this a good place to go. We went on Ukrainian Christmas Day and they added cabbage rolls, turkey, and stuffing to the pierogies and other usual menu items which was quite an extensive selection. Bon appetit!

Did not feel the value was there. Didn't find the buffet selection to be great for the cost of the buffet, $14.95/head. Cost for two kids and my self for lunch almost $45 (was just the food we had no drinks). Maybe catering to seniors/couples? Not a place you'd want to take a family with kids who are not going to eat more than $5 worth of food. Food that was prepared tasted good and facility was clean but seemed way over priced for selection and ages of kids. I thought may have been a mistake when I was at the till so thought I'd mention it when the girl that was ringing up our bill but that was the cost. So 3.5 stars simply because value was not there in my opinion.

This is the first time we've been to this place. There aren't a lot varieties of hot food. Can't really see any meat. The grilled beef is very dry, not tasty at all. The fried rice are so dry too. The susi bar especially the samon susi......oh..I can give the chef a thumb up cause I wouldn't be able to cut that salmon thin slice like that..... you can even see through it with your eyes.....Only spring rolls and desert are good. Actually $18.99+tax per person is pricy but because they don't have a lot of varieties food to choose from, therefore is not worth of the price. I wouldn't recommend to this restaurant.

Was there today with my family...food was warm to cold...same food all the time and the price for 3 adults and one child...$80.00...the food there is not worth 17.50 a adult and $9.00 for a child....i will not eat here again i will soend $80.00 on a better restaurant.

Cold food is warm, warm food is cold... last time we were there the whole salad bar was warm the highlight to my meal is a nice salad, when you make a nice salad plate of all these toppings and get to your table and your first bite is warm, warm, warm that makes for a gross salad experience and very disappointing. We informed management and got a discount off of our bill which was good but we haven't been back since! Keep the food temperature out of the danger zone! The hot food was not rotated enough for freshness!

I am VERY unhappy with my experience at Smileys. First of all, the staff barely said a word to me and my Dad. Secondly, they never offered to refill our beverages. Lastly, the food was not very good. There was rotten tomatoes in the food and rock solid pineapple in the fresh fruit area... And last time I went there with my mom there was raw meat! It was supposed to be cooked, it wasn't a dish meant to be raw. So they won't be seeing us again. Im sorry if I sound like a complainer, but the reviews are for our thoughts.

Service is the pits. We were only asked how everything was when we paid. We had a huge allergy problem and no one was around. When we went up to pay, the manager didn't even acknowledge that we had a problem. Used to love coming here. Not anymore.

The price is right and the service is good but the food varies. Sometimes it's really good and other times not so great. The last time I had the lemon pepper fish it was awful and I haven't tried it since. On our last visit my daughter had fried rice and it was terrible. The pierogies are always good and I love the noodles and the spring rolls. Tuesday is steak night and it's usually pretty good. Their fried chicken and sushi are also usually pretty good. It's nothing to write home about but general speaking it's a decent all you can eat buffet.

Has always been a joy to visit this place. Such a wide variety of foods to eat and great choices for dessert as well. If you are visiting Saskatoon and you're up for some familiar or not so familiar food Smiley's is one of the two best places to visit beyond a doubt.
