Visited Kate’s yesterday and our whole family was very happy with our food. I ordered the vegan BLT and loved every bite. My kids had the Epic PB&J and they both devoured it! The cookies were delicious as well. Inside the cafe, everything is very clean and beautifully decorated. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be back when we visit this city again!

It’s even better than Casey’s because of its short waiting time and better variety of food. You should visit Kate’s as often as possible. It brings Port Huron together. Kate's is my favorite spot downtown for a non-boozy lunch. My favorite is the Huron Avenue sandwich. It's a chicken salad sandwich on a cranberry walnut bread. The bread makes the sandwich. They have a full espresso bar for coffee drinks and healthy smoothie options. In addition to the food, they'll always have a special spot in my heart for how kindly they treated me when I went in to pick up lunch for my wife and me while she was in the hospital with our newborn baby girl.

Excellent friendly staff who made great menu recommendations. This visit I enjoyed the Baked French Toast and the Maritime Mistic Tea Latte. The menu is beautifully written on a chalkboard wall so I presume the menu rotates (both food and drinks). The decor is very pretty and it has a very warm, cozy atmosphere to it. Parking was plentiful for us early on Sunday morning and they were also not too busy. If the Raven is a bit too noisy or crowded for you, this would absolutely be my top recommendation. Next time I pass through I will absolutely look forward to stopping by again.

If you are looking to experience Port Huron at its finest, check out this downtown cafe for gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods and beverages. First time at this establishment and was extremely excited to try the French press coffee as per a friends reccomendation. Unfortunately my first time experience here is ruined after receiving rude and unpleasant service. As a first time goer to any establishment I love to ask questions about the specials and local favourites. The cashier who helped me seemed to be extremely rude and irritated. It was a shocking experience to say the least and I think the poor service may be motivated by racism. All the customers in line received friendly service with “how are yours” and any questioned about the food or drinks quickly and nicely answered. I asked a question about what soups were available and received a roll of the eyes and muttering of “its over there”. As I continued to ask could you tell me a little more as it was my first time - thinking any staff who is greeted with a first time visitor would be more than happy to explain the selection - received don’t you know what “vegan split pea soup is? It’s green. And the chicken dumpling soup is chicken”. Great thank you for that exceptional service. She preceded to “accidentally” rip my number/ receipt in half. It’s very unfortunate some people are so miserable that 2 minutes of their day used to help someone else is too much to ask - even when it’s their job.

I am a vegan , and thank god for kates !! The vegan soups that r made everyday fresh is wonderful and the vegan sandwiches and salads and wraps are delicious , and with the new vegan gluten free organic bake goods that r being offered r so very good it’s hard to believe they r gluten free and vegan !! I’m not sure where in town some one would go to get a meal and something to drink and a desert all vegan and b very sattified and full !! Everything is make from scratch , they take great pride in being able to offer something for everybody , for a small cafe they do a heck of a job , I’m able to eat there everyday ! Delicious fresh food, excellent coffee, beautiful decor, but very noisy. Even with only a few employees and patrons in the room it's nearly impossible to carry on a conversation due to the room's acoustics (high ceiling and nothing to absorb sound). I'm not saying don't try Kate's because you should (it's that good) - but be prepared for a potentially ear-splitting experience!

The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and enjoyable. The food was really good and flavorful. Nice combinations of different, healthy ingredients. Service was ok, not great but I noticed another server who was hustling so I suppose your mileage may vary. Its a smaller place so I don't think a large group would fit well unless you called and reserved most of the seats. They cater so I suppose they would host a gathering. Its more of a 2-4 person place with close seating. Price was a little on the high side at around 15 for food and drink but I don't mind supporting the local small businesses. All in all the whole experience was good from start to finish and I'll probably go back!

Tasty, unique salads and sandwiches. I've had many great lunches here. I wish the beer cheese soup was in the rotation more often. Love it! The grill cheese with pesto was great and the specialty salad was delicious. It is a tad more than I'd want to pay for lunch on any kind of regular basis but great for a change every once in a while.

This place is way over priced to make it in Port Huron . 14 $ for a sandwich . I went there before and they were 10$ a sandwich and I could easy eat 2 of them and I thought that was pricy. But now there 12 to 14 $ . There's about 25,000 people in Port Huron don't think there all doctors and lawyers most have a average income of $30,000 a year and they think people want to spend 10 to 14$ on a sandwich . I give this place 3 years and I'll be closed

My favorite sandwich is the Huron Avenue (I understand it is the most popular), and I do take out at least once or twice a week. Daily soup options add variety! A good breakfast choice is the avocado toast with an egg, my wife's favorite! Then you have the beverage options which are great!

The place looked great and offered several Gluten Free options since I have Celiac Disease. I asked for the GF wrap and it came out with the bread; the man was remaking the wrap and we noticed he was using the same ingredients that was in the bread. My husband mentioned it to the waitress that Cross contamination will affect me. She let him know that he had to remake wrap entirely. But then used the same gloves to grab wrap and remake :( I just refused to eat it at this point. I am just shocked with Kate advertising a great place for GF and vegan that the staff isn’t educated on cross contamination.

They atmosphere and kindness of the staff us bar none! This is a wonderful place to have lunch, catch up with friends, or just enjoy downtown. I was so glad we tried this place. Loved every minute of our time there. Prices are good too! Quality food. You really can not go wrong here. ????

Don't even think about stopping by in the morning for a coffee, apparently they don't adhere to their hours posted on the door. I've stopped by there on several occasions only to find that they are not open when they are supposed to be open. This is not good business practice, I will not be stopping by there anymore!

If you are in need of a caterer for an event, I HIGHLY recommend Kate's Downtown. I'm a COVID bride and I replanned my wedding just two weeks before the big day. I reached out to Kate and she happened to have our date available. We didn't do any tastings, just went based off of all the great reviews. My husband and I were NOT disappointed. Where do I start? Kate was very responsive, kind, and professional. We decided on herb chicken, beef bourguignon, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, mac n cheese, a caesar salad, and peanut butter brownies. Every single thing was AMAZING. Our family even fought over leftovers at the end. They came to deliver our food on time and were extremely professional and didn't forget anything. I felt awful because our small group was supposed to be outside when they arrived, but it was pouring rain and we couldn't be outside. They were so understanding while we stayed out of the way. The price point was also extremely reasonable, especially for the quality and amount of food we got. Thank you Kate and the Kate's Downtown chefs and staff for making our intimate wedding a great dining experience!
