This is a great place to get some quality Mexican food. They also offer a really good sangria to get you to try the spicier hot sauces they provide you with the complimentary chips. Lunch here is a good deal with large sizes for a reasonable price.

First off, the service wasn't very good. Never asked us how our food was, after messing up our beef Taco Salad order and was pretty rude and condescending when she had to ask what the order was again. While I'm sure they have some wait staff that is very good, we unfortunately had someone who either was having a bad day or wasn't very good at their job. Hopefully, no one else has to have a similar experience. Also the manager was having a loud phone conversation while drinking and I don't think that's appropriate while customers are seated and trying to enjoy a meal. Second, the food was uninspired and clearly microwaved to high hell.. The food could've been made better at home. Definitely edible, but not worth your hard earned cash. Go home and make it yourself, better results will come I suspect. I would suggest Under the Volcano in London or Taco Bell and at least if you do the latter you can watch Netflix and be near your own bathroom. I would suggest avoiding this place and hopefully they take the time to improve the food and service. Good luck!

It's unfortunate because the service was very good but the food was not up to par. Definitely not fresh as everything tasted like it was straight from a can or microwaved. If you are looking for authentic Mexican eats, don't waste your money here.

I struggled with whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. I would say it's a 3.5. The food is pretty good, though not at all authentic Mexican food. It's closer than Tex Mex, but still a long way off. Where this place really falls short for me is the service. I have been there several times at this point, and the service is really hit or miss. Once it was great, more often than not it's simply okay, and a couple times it has been rather terrible, with the server being quite blunt and clearly unhappy to be there.

Been here before , do not remember ever having to pay for the chips and sauces before the meal. We declined anyhow due to ordering nachos (vegetarian ,$13.95 I think & added guacamole for $3-4). The server knew we were going to share the nachos, and we were not warned that this serving is on a regular sized dinner plate and not stacked chips. It was barely enough for one. The waiter never came to ask if everything was alright or if we needed anything (would have liked hot sauce or salsa); we were sitting at the front booth. It truly felt that because we were not drinking $8 dollar cocktails that they were wanting us out right away. Cute atmosphere for a date, be prepared to wait and at peak times it is very loud. It is what it is. If you want a decent sized portion and service make your way down the road and you will not be disappointed.

The jewel of St. Thomas. This place is always top notch. Great food , fast service and friendly staff. They also support the local brewery having their excellent beer on tap. My girlfriend is vegitarian and even she had lots to choose from and left just as full as me. Portions are great and reasonably priced, plus for a mere $1.50 you get nachoes and dip.

Decent Mexican food for a small town if you don't mind rude waiters. Mine refused to give me a piece of lemon with me caesar (even when I explicitly asked for one when I ordered it and again when he brought it without one) saying that the restaurant "doesn't buy many lemons". Then the cook brought out my dinner with a lemon wedge on the plate as a garnish... unfortunately after I'd finished my drink.

This place is fantastic! While I've never been to Mexico, this place is the closest to what I assume authentic Mexican cuisine tastes like. The environment is perfect for a sit down dinner or just a couple margaritas. Hands down my favorite night out is one that starts with Bella Jacks.

We went here as a location picked by a fellow friend and member of book club. When we arrived we were seated as we waited for the other couple members of the club. We ordered some drinks and began chatting. We were RUDELY interrupted by the OWNER asking when the rest of our party would arrive as he has people waiting for tables and we SHOULD not have been seated until our entire party had arrived. We sat in shock as we honest to God had no idea how to respond. We were a group of local moms, bringing your establishment money and possible promotion as myself and a fellow member run a local business promotion page. Instead we were floored, I offered the owner to leave as there were other places we could eat and NOT be made to feel like we were taking up space. Everyone in the restaurant was watching as he was not discreet when speaking to us. Talk about EMBARRASSING. That set the tone for the evening. We were just so angered that the evening was flat out ruined. NONE of us will step foot in this restaurant again.

Fantastic food. Tortilla chips were fresh, salsa delicious, entrees were hot and delicious AND authentic! Staff was really good atmosphere was good except for the music lol. There was a CD playing of a number of songs that were really repetitive. We were there long enough to hear a couple songs twice even and it was driving my husband batty lol. Everything else was good though. Definitely going to enjoy their food again but might use the patio or take out option.

Bella Jack's has been a fantastically consistent experience for more than a decade! My wife and I have visited Bell Jack's approximately TWO HUNDRED times over the last fifteen or so years. In that time, we have brought family and friends on numerous occasions, because we knew exactly what we would find: A small, often-noisy restaurant filled with happy customers, attentive staff, and great food. And really, that is all we ever expect - or want! - from Bella Jack's. It isn't fancy fine-dining or cutting-edge "haute cuisine" with a constantly-rotating menu of trendy dishes. The servers don't wear black ties and speak with fake enthusiasm about "locally-sourced bison tartar with asparagus glaze." (Not only are they not snooty...they won't judge you if you want to be cliche and order a margarita or deep-fried ice cream just because you "are in a Mexican place.") It is casual. It is intimate enough for date night. It is relaxed enough for drinks and apps with friends after work. We moved 45 minutes away from St.Thomas five years ago, and we still try to make it to Bella Jacks once every week or so. And that is the really important point: If I had only made ONE visit to this restaurant, I would simply give it a solid four stars and forget about it. BUT...my wife and I have ordered and paid for literally hundreds of dinners there, and you can count the number of "three star" experiences we've had on two fingers! That level of consistency is quite simply astounding, and keeps us coming back. I suppose if you don't like Mexican food, there won't be a lot on the menu for you. (But why the heck would you go there if you don't like beans, rice and tortillas?) And if you can't deal with a slightly noisy environment you will definitely have to visit during off-peak hours. Other than that, there is seriously no reason not to give Bella Jack's a try. TL,DR: Consistently great experience at reasonable prices with local beers on tap.

I had fish tacos, my sister had steak tacos and my toddler had mac and cheese. The food was really, really good. Its flavourful without being over seasoned or over salted. The portions were perfect and we are super full. The only odd thing I noticed was that the mac and cheese wasn't homemade. Abby really didnt mind though-even it was creamy and delicious.

We've been here several times now and have always been very happy with the food and service. Last night we had a group of 6 and everyone raved about their meals plus the birthday boy in our group had a little surprise from the staff. Our faves are the diablo shrimp appetizers, enchiladas for a main and you gotta try the deep fried ice cream at least once! Fridays and Saturdays, there can be a bit of a wait but there are great beers on tap to enjoy at the bar while you do so.

If you want Mexican, this is the place to go! Moving here from London we really never had a great Mexican place. Under the Volcano was ok but I remember as a kid doing trips to the states and finding some amazing American Mexican restaurants! Enchiladas, chimichangas, nachos, tacos...all delicious and all covered in tasty sauces! Definitely worth it to check this place out! Best Mexican in the London Region!!

Tonight we came for our first date night in 8 months, we are new to the area and have tried a few places but I can EASILY say this is our favourite place of all time. The coconut lime margarita was the best drink I have ever had, not even best margarita... best drink! Perfectly mixed! I got the beef nachos, and again, best nachos ever. Service was excellent, both me and my partner have experience in working in restaurants, and can say staff was amazing! on top of checking on us, and our food was brought out promptly. We have not one complaint of our night here. Thanks for the great service and food! If you are looking for a good date night restaurant, I highly recommend Bella Jack’s. This will be our new go to place!

I overheard a staff member mention the increase of minimum wage. Should that make a difference for being friendly, service or keeping the seating in good repair?

Delicious authentic Mexican food at this lovely local spot. My husband and I shared the tasty trio to start which was fresh guacamole, queso and hot bean dip with melted cheese, served with tortilla chips. Yum-o! For our mains, hubby had a beef burrito and I had the chicken mole. Both were delicious, though the portion on my chicken was a bit small (more of a tender than a breast). That is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Would go back and definitely try other dishes, as everything really was quite good ????

Tasty food. Just needed more of it. Very small portions. Plus would be nice to have more than one menu to share with multiple guests...and receive one when asking for one more...it's just courtesy. Plus paint chips were all along the side of the table flaking off the wall.

We had heard good things about this place and perhaps it was just the day we went, but they could use a more positive owner and a more attentive waitress. We started out as only one of 2 groups of people in the restaurant. Our food came out so slow and the waitress never came round to check on us. Finally complained to the owner and she made it our fault. Will never come here again for basic Tex Mex and deplorable service.

Called prior to ordering food on Family day 2019 to make sure they were open and the man said yes... called back 15 minutes later to order $65 worth of food.. the man took the order and said it would take about 40 mins. I'll start by saying that the food IS good, but that hardly makes up for the customer service. I'm actually STUNNED at how poor it is. First time there I could have sworn our server was on drugs, repeatedly bringing the wrong items or duplicate items, happened at least 4 or 5 times. I call a month or so later, ask if I can place an order for pick up, and am responded to with "I don't know. What do you want?". I give them another chance and call again tonight for pick up, first time someone answers they ask of I can hold for 5 minutes and then hang up on me. I call back 5 minutes later and am told they can't help me because they're too busy, and I should call back in another half an hour. No thanks, I'll take my business elsewhere. Three strikes and you're out.

We have eaten at Bella Jack's many times, but tonight was the first time I tried their steak fajita (which comes sizzling to your table), and I could not believe how good it was. So good that I want to go back tomorrow for another one!! This is the best restaurant, hands down. It has a relaxed atmosphere, wonderful staff, and superb food. Food was pleasant and fresh. Generous with the proteins. We were offered and accepted an "off the menu" appetizer of natcho chips with 2 different salsas (mild or hot) possibly house made, not sure, and a squeeze bottle of a medium mild taco sauce, for $1.50. We also ordered an app a la carte which we split btwn 2 of us and enjoyed. We ordered fajitasfor mains.. Again pleasant and fresh. The wraps had been nicley charred, adding to flavour. Almost all dishes served with guac, salsa, sour cream, and queso fresca, with side of Mexican rice and refried red beans. Most of the food very lightly seasoned and no heat unless indicated on menu. You may wish to add salt. Atmosphere relaxed with colourful but not garrish Mexican themed decor. While the decor was not loud, the restaurant accoustics were extremely so. Arrive after 6:30 if you prefer a mellower experience. Some of the booths in poor shape. I wore a cotton dress and literally slid under the table repeatedly due to steep angle of the bench. My companion who is taller than I and his feet coukd touch the ground to stop the slide kindly changed places with me. Female waitstaff a bit surly and intimidating, male was more engaging and had sense of humour. Dessert and coffee was not offered by the wait staff but we requested the menu. Was worth the effort. Both the deep fried banana with amaretto dish and the brownies were delicious. A little more pricey than Mexican fare in other places but a good place for both "ethic food" beginners and people who want mainly fried but fresh fare. A step above for St Thomas dining and over all would definitely recommend a try.

Not very impressed. Came for lunch with my daughter who is an infant. Went into the restaurant and sat ourself as their was no hostess inside. Turns out the lady looking at clothes storefront beside the resturant was the hostess. I proceeded to get a high chair holding a baby in one hand. Took 3 chairs to find one that wasn't grimy or broken. Hostess watched me struggle and only commented that they were aware they were broken. Food was mediocre, nothing I would travel out of my to get again. Payment was debit, after bringing the machine she didn't bother to come back to get it. So I left it on the table. The two front staff continued to chat to themselves at the bar located near the entrance. I just paid and left, leaving the machine on the table. Couldn't of felt more ignored.

I got the steak chimi and it was amazing. Enough to make the girlfriend jealous. Finished it off with my first try of deep fried ice cream and it was delicous. I heard so many great things about this place I thought I'd try it out. Pretty busy waited 15 mins for a table. The service was so poor, the woman working looked like she was hating every minute of it. The so called salsa they brought to the table, after 20 mins, was awful, absolutely no taste to it whatsoever. I ordered fajitas. The steak was hardly cooked some pieces were bloody, and had no flavor at all. Definitely not what I was expecting from such a well talked about place. I won't be back.

It was good! Portion sizes and presentation need work but this could be as simple as replacing those ugly plates that come out of the oven. I gave 3 stars because the server was bad like really bad It felt like her first day. Only 4 tables 2,2,3(us) I even had to show her how to type in a credit card manually due to the machine error, this shouldn't have been a problem to anyone with experience. I have full love for front of house they make sure us chefs don't have to deal with all the personalities that come in. So a bad server will ruin a return visit for me. Truly a shame (P.s Don't let people see a dirty rag while cleaning tables during covid that thing was full of all kinds of gross)
