The food is good, some things can be expensive. The food is very home made, to the point where I feel I can make much better sandwiches and soups at home. I give this place a low rating due to the waitresses. They are grouchy and provide poor service. This happens more often than not, they give you attitude, especially the older ones. There are better places to eat that provide better service for the price.

Very good location and parking is quite easy with street parking available (and Winnipeg is offering 1 complimentary hour parking daily). The place offers quite a lot of sitting and with covid you can have a piece of mind that you are not sitting in a crowded restaurant. The food is authentic, and there are quite a lot of options on the menu for everyone. Staff are friendly, and food came out very fast. I would go back for the fries, matzo ball soup, and the brisket sandwich. Second review! Had to go back for matzah ball soup and more sandwiches. So delicious!

If you like ol' school delis with PROPER deli sandwiches (like me), then this is the place for you! Oscars is all about no frills, offering simple (yet delicious) deli-staples, and great overall value. Been around since 1929, so you'll find regulars and newbies alike. Tried the Oscar's Rubin which was packed full of meat with toasted pumpernickel bread (not grilled, toasted). Sides were on-point: delicious and simple and platters come with the dill pickle (a must have). Fries - shoe-string-style - are skin-on and great (but I prefer home-style though). If you love a good no non-sense place for awesome deli sandwiches, check out Oscar's for your next craving.

Amazing burger! The meat is so juicy and fresh. The bun is soft and also fresh. And the lettuce is romaine, and again, fresh! You can choose grilled or fried onions. Probably the best burger in the city! Fries were homemade and delicious as well!! Highly recommend.

The head waitress here is AMAZING. She has you seated before you even get thru the main door. Always smiling, friendly and speedy. The food is SO delicious and quick, so... quick. We have been there twice now and I really hope to go again soon. If you want Great Customer Service and a quick meal that doesn't break the bank...go to Oscar's Deli.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! The food was so delicious! The spicy brisket grilled cheese was unlike anything else I've ever had. There was no salt-hangover from this meal, either, so you know everything was freshly prepared. The blueberry-bacon waffle with chicken schnitzel was the spin on chicken and waffles you never knew you always wanted; the waffle was crispy with tons of flavor and the chicken was just right. If I'm ever in Winnipeg again I'll go back to try more menu items.

Just a super great deli restaurant with really good prices. Their grain-based vege burger is my favorite, as are their cheeseburgers. Nice shoe-stringy fries too. Potato salad is excellent, nice chunks if potato, creamy and flavourful. Very good club sandwich, old-fashioned and so tasty. Also, their salad portions are huge. Mandarin and almond salad is delicious, but make sure to get the servers opinion on the size you want because even their half order is very generous. Oscar's is a gem, and so are their staff.

I heard about this place & decided to try it. Ordered a corned beef on rye (regular size) & beef/barley soup. to go. Cost me $12.77 w/tax. Was I surprised at this. Also, the soup was worst b/b I've ever tasted. Couldn't get taste out of my mouth. Was I sorry.

Some things you could make at home and taste better, I must say the one skillet is to die for! So flavorful! Staff are older ladies who sometimes have a grouch look, and can be short, but generally are nice. It's downtown, what do you expect? 5 star Staff? Lol.

Open for 90 years, this place is obviously doing it right. Try the brisket. They keep odd hours so call ahead if you're unsure. Weekdays for lunch are their main operating hours.

I don't think I've ever felt so welcome coming into a diner, especially so close to closing time. I felt like I was visiting my uncle and aunt! And the homemade food was on par for that same feeling. The spicy brisket grilled cheese with coleslaw and banana peppers (and a thick perfect pickle on top!) was to die for. I can't remember if I even took a breath while I devoured that sloppy piece of brisket heaven. Stop in often if you like unpretentious atmosphere, homemade smoked/pickled foods, meats, and all day breakfast!

This ain't your average sandwich. Oscar's Deli takes it to a new level of flavourful food. Amazing food! I don't remember what I ordered because I just showed a picture of something I saw online. I was looking forward to this Friday lunch for a week and I was very happy with the outcome. My fiancée was jealous that I went without here and I ate it so quick that I couldn't take a photo in time. Definitely, will be back soon to try some other items on the menu.

I went when only a couple people were there. Service was minimal, I didn't see the server again after I received my food. Had a cheeseburger without fries. It was pretty basic and not really worth $7.50 before tax. Don't think I'll be back.
