Great spot to stop for lunch if you are downtown. It has a great family atmosphere but better than that is the food. Amazing homemade soups. Their chicken fingers are the best that I have had in the city.

Great home style Winnipeg cuisine not your typical lunch counter. I had their home made perogies along either their home made mushroom soup and both were delicious. Affordable prices great value and very friendly service. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Highlights from our lunch were the chicken salad and potato salad, both simple homemade recipes. Banana bread was incredible, and also from a family recipe. Friendly owner and staff. Unassuming, casual place right under the Fairmont

Delicious Reuben, really amazing customer service. They treat you like family! Came in today at 2:30, wondered if they still had their Ruben. They'd already turned their grill off but they turned it on just for my sandwich. I had no idea they were closing soon, but they said I was fine when I apologized for coming in so close to close. They were so nice and welcoming with everything I didn't know they were closing until I saw on Google to write this review! The Ruben is delicious. Sauerkraut not too tangy, probably the deepest meatiness of any Ruben I've had. Comes with dressing, swiss, the works (not just corned beef sandwhich like a lot of places in Winnipeg. The staff is really nice, were very helpful with a number of people who came in needing help finding things around the Square (so great spot to stop in from hotels connected!). When they noticed I had a computer out, they engaged to make sure I got on their wifi without my asking at all. This place is phenomenal!

I first went here last Wednesday. At the time didn't know about the "soup"er Wed campaign. 1$ from every soup goes to charity. I ordered the baba mozza ball chicken soup. It was delicious. The serving staff are funny and the manager even greeted our table to thank us for coming. Went back the following week with my coworker and they duplicated the experience. They were just as friendly, the food equally delicious, and the portions equally massive. Huge recommend.

1st time visiting this restaurant - orange / almond w/ chicken salad was reasonably tasty, I would have expected more chicken for $3.50 (and for it to not be dried out and chewy) - I also wasn't asked whether I wanted the 'chips' or the 'bread' (as I didn't know these were the options - they just gave me the chips) so I would say the food was 'so-so' especially for the price ($20 for a salad is quite expensive). I also didn't like being practically accosted while I was waiting for my food with the 'bag story' to try to get me to buy one of their home-made bags (if I'd been interested in your bags, I would have asked)

Tasty, clean, friendly, classic Winnipeg look and feel. Sandwiches are HUGE, and the cheesecake is delicious. Worth stopping for lunch if you are in the area. Consider peeking in at the stunning Bank of Montreal connected by the unique underground concourse.

Oriental Soup was disappointing. 0 flavor. Worst 12 dollar lunch I've ever had. They need to take a trip to dwarf no cachette to see how to make it right. I completely understand that I bought this at a deli, but if you don't know how to make it, don't put it on the menu. Two star only because I didn't wait long to go order.

I travel throughout Canada on business, I always look forward to coming to Winnipeg, because I know I will be getting good food, value, and attention from Karen, Breanlea, and Fraydel. I have never been disappointed. If there is ever an issue or concern, they will take care of it immediately, and go out of their way to find out what happened. Keep doing what you are doing!
