This place is so good! My friend has raved for a while about how much he loves everything here, and I was in the area and went down for lunch today. I tried the special and it was very tasty! I've had the crumb cookies before and they are SO GOOD. I want to buy them in bulk and freeze them I love them so much. Staff are friendly, overall a great experience.

Tonight's special sandwich was the BBQ Chicken Dijon and it was FANTASTIC!! The bun was super soft. The arugala and tomatoes were a great addition. Such a potent flavourful sandwich. Spicy BBQ is so much better than regular BBQ. Great sandwich...it's a must try!!

Learned lots about one of my fav drinks , history and social being. The premise supplied an awesome menu for our dining pleasure. Can hardly wait for the next event. I'm dumbfounded by this "restaurant's" favourable review online. I must have had a terribly unique and isolated experience, but it was terrible nonetheless. After a fifteen minute wait in line behind three other customers -- one underskilled staff member was trying to manage the business while the other employees ate carry-out in the back -- I ordered the River City Brisket (the bestseller) and the Tofu Bann-Mi. I've had mouthwatering brisket from the American South and I've had incredibly flavourful bahn mi sandwiches on wonderfully textured baguettes. Perhaps it's my high standard for bread -- good bread needs no accompaniment -- that contributed to my disappointment upon tasting the extra thick-cut and flavourless, textureless bread (no, it's not made in house). Perhaps it's the fat-riddled, inadequately cooked brisket. The disappointments were many. I might have been willing to give King + Bannatyne a second chance had the staff not denied any accountability for the poor quality of their food. A good sandwich is all about balance: the right balance of ingredients and the right balance of flavours are why sandwiches are so universally loved; a good sandwich can be so memorable that it will remain as a standard to which all other sandwiches are judged. You will not find that sandwich here.

I tried the river city brisket sandwich today from doordash. The brisket itself was good, the mustard totally overpowered the sandwich and was very bitter. The rye bread was great as expected. I found the pickle to not have much flavour, it was basically just vinegar. The lemonade was good and the potato salad was decent. I'd like to try a different sandwich from here without mustard because it definitely has potential.

They are known for the River City Brisket and it was definitely great. Their bread is the freshest and softest I've ever eaten a sandwich on. It's cafeteria style which is popular now but I'm honestly not a big fan of. Don't let that stop you from going.

Staff are phenomenal. We dropped by late at night to grab a beer on the patio and they were super accommodating. Been here a couple times and the Sandwiches And potato salad are always great. Pork belly specials when they have them are fantastic, and the brisket is always a safe go to. Can get crowded/busy/slow during week day lunch rushes so be prepared for a wait and limited seating

Just imagine a Big Mac - but 10 times better. Price was steep, $19 for a burger alone, whereas other restaurants offer a side with their burger special for the same price. But really good burger, pretty good customer service. Fair first time experience.

The food was good but both times I was there but I was a little grossed out by some of the food handling practices I observed. The first time I was there the guy behind the counter was constantly touching his face and glasses while preparing food and today the woman making my sandwich coughed on it. I love K&B so much! The sandwiches are so delicious and fresh and creative. I love their sides and the non alcohol drink selection. The decor is wonderful and the service is fast. They need to be because whenever I go in for lunch (11:30/12) the place is always packed. It's on the smaller side, but traffic moves quickly so if you can skirt around the busiest times you will be able to find a place to sit.

Sandwiches at the King & Bannatyne restaurant are really good and well-worth the visit. They also offer a number of sides (the potato salad is really good). The décor is really trendy but also comfortable (with interesting food, animal and butcher-related paintings). I like that they specialize in a handful of things and do them well. This place reminds me of Meat and Bread in Vancouver, BC, and I wonder whether this local business is inspired by businesses like those.

I ordered the special today, the soup and the brown jug and they were delicious. The presentation was excellent, the soup was flavourful and the sandwich had great flavors that compliment each other. The staff was friendly. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Winnipeg.

This spot was an unexpected GEM!! We were in from out of town and the concierge recommended it. Couldn't be happier they you did! Apparently they just started serving Breakfast and I am so glad they did because it was OUTSTANDING! I've been to places like Eggslut etc. And these guys are absolutely killing it!! Their Egg Sandwiches we're so on point. Soft Scramble was next level and we got their sides to go with. Breakfast Potatoes reminded me of a Patatas Bravas and the Fruit Skewers we're done up like street corn coated in a super tasty sesame almond granola. And the orange juice... my God the OJ. It's sweetened with a Thai Basil simple syrup and served with a small splash of soda to liven it up. So tasty. I loved that it was quick and simple. Great start to the day. The staff were unbelievably nice as well! Good way to start the Morning. Check it out if you haven't had a chance!

Every time we go to King and Bann we try to have something new. This trip was their BLT and...O-M-G is it good. Hand carved goodness, juicy tomatoes and crisp lettuce make for a perfect sandwich. Pair it with a cream soda or peach tea and you have a winning combination. Great job King and Bann.

We've heard great things about this place for a while and finally got down to give it a try yesterday. It was so good we went back today. And plan on going tomorrow as well. The bread is fresh and tastes like it's fresh out of the oven a minute before eating it. Same with the buns. Amazing. We've tried the brisket, Buffalo chicken and sweet potato sandwiches so far. I can honestly say they're some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The brisket was done perfectly. Full of flavor and prepared perfectly. The Buffalo chicken is spicy but also done perfectly. It's not an overwhelming hot. I'd highly recommend any of the sandwiches. We chose to stick with the potato salad and weren't disappointed. I was delicious! This isn't your mom's potato salad. It's got a modern twist. There's no heavy dressing or bloated feeling after eating here. It's a big meal and you can taste the quality in the ingredients so it's a great value for a meal cheaper than most restaurants offer. I keep meaning to take pictures but it tastes so good we end up eating it all first. Maybe tomorrow!

This spot was one of the most amazing and unique experiences I've had in Winnipeg! They are in the coolest area called The Historical Exchange District on the Southwest Corner of King St. And Bannatyne Ave. They serve up Simple, Fast and Delicious Sandwiches, Soups, Salads and Sides. The staff are amazingly friendly and always a huge help! I recently started using their Catering service and it is, by far the best I've ever used. I frequently host Lunch and Learn events for my clients and when King + Bannatyne Caters it always wins them over. Everything is presented very professionally and labelled perfectly so everyone knows what they are getting. So much better than other cold cut trays. PLUS they just started serving breakfast sandwiches!! Such a great place to stop in before I go to work. It's quick and easy and can't describe how delicious it is! Must visit!

I have been meaning to try this restaurant out for awhile, and had the opportunity tonight. I don’t normally like to complain at restaurants, but when my plate is taken away with uneaten food on it, and server doesn’t notice, it bothers me. The Brisket sandwich sounded like a great idea. But it’s exactly what the menu says. Brisket and mustard, which I thought would be enough. Not everything needs cheese, and although I thought it would be better with a horseradish aioli, I thought I’d give it a try. The mustard really overpowers the sandwich, and it lacks contrast in texture. It needs something else in it, a slaw or something. I also had the side special of the day, a jalapeño Monterey Jack Mac and cheese, topped with Doritos. I thought that sounded great. I imagined the Mac and cheese getting finished off in the oven or a salamander, getting the top layer of cheese and Doritos nice and crispy. But it came out of a pan being held at temp, and some Doritos crumbled up on top of it. I couldn’t tell what was macaroni and what was cheese. They had the same consistency. The mac was soft and the cheese congealed. You can’t hold mac and cheese in a steam table like that and expect quality to stay consistent. It’s not a cafeteria.

I have visited a few times during down times and had amazing sandwiches, but the reason I'm writing this review is due to my visit during the lunch rush today. I arrived at 12:45 and there was about 12 people ahead of me, I had my two sandwiches and was out the door by 1 pm. Not only was the service fast, but they still had time to be friendly and ask how my day was. The service here is always outstanding and the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely my favourite sandwich shop!

We had our first visit to King + Bannatyne this weekend and definitely will be back very soon! The service was unbeatable and it was probably the best sandwich we have had! The bread seemed as though it was just baked and the meat was fresh and flavourful. The brisket sandwich here is awesome. There a few interesting drinks to taste and they always seem to have a new sandwich to try. Follow them on instagram to see their new creations. Very cozy little restaurant with limited seating so get there early to beat the lunch rush.
