Nice enough place but my pizza was average

The kitchen doesn’t take allergies seriously. I spoke with the waitress about my allergy and how uncommon and hard it can be to accommodate. Essentially giving an out if it would be too difficult for the kitchen. She wasn’t phased at all and spoke with the kitchen. They had no concerns, just highlighted cross contamination could happen. The appetizer I ordered came out with one of my allergens very clearly still present. I showed the waitress and she apologized and said the kitchen must have forgot. The main came out and it caused a reaction. I spoke with the waitress and she said the first one they made me they had messed up and did have the allergens, but this one was for sure safe. I almost had to use my epipen. Got to have two bites of my $37 meal and then stopped. I understand the risks with eating out with allergies, but they acted confident and didn’t turn me away. Which, they probably should have.

The bread and meal was delicious. We highly recommend the Ravioli Braised Short Rib and Penne Mediterranean. The bread they serve with oil and vinegar, the perfect mixture with spices. Good value for the cost. Picture is of the Ravioli.

I ordered the Spaghetti Cabornara expecting the classic recipe of noodles on a creamy based egg type sauce with bacon. One of my favorite pasta dishes. However, the chef here, literally ruined this classic dish. The spaghetti noodles were place on top of this broth (yes ...not kidding; a broth) with about 2 teaspoons of cream, half cooked egg yolk, & small bacon on top. The way it was presented, it was expected that u mix all of the above together. Anyhoot, it only made the broth "more soupy" & in NO WAY resembled a cream sauce u expect from a Cabornara dish. It was simply pathetic :( As my friend suggested; it looked more like ramen noodles. I should have been assertive & send the dish back & ordered something else. Such a simple classic recipe; only to be ruined by the chef trying to play around with this dish. Soo be forewarned. ..if u chose to order the carbonara dish , guaranteed ; it will NOT be what u expect. And to pay 22.bucks for a dissapointment. Even Boston Pizza , East Side Marios, Olive Gardens & a Italian joint like Nello's would deliver a classic carbonara dish without trying to play with it ! I mean why try to mess with a classic pasta dish Sorentino's !

I definitely enjoyed this restaurant. I had the four cheese tortellini and it was delicious. It was a good portion and even had some leftovers. They can accommodate small and large groups. I was very satisfied with my dinner here ! They did not rush us out either which i absolutely loved.

Fantastic service, a great atmosphere and wonderful food. Though the price point is a step higher than say Boston pizza or earls, the service is leaps and bounds better leading you to garner far better bang for your buck. They have a wonderful menu, starting with phenomenal appetizers, leading into truly delicious entrees. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about both the meals and the wine pairings. Over all I'm only disappointed that I haven't been here sooner.

I ordered the special that evening we went. The steak was very thin, stringy, no vegetables, no potatoes, pasta or rice. Just a small square dish with a few lettuce leaves that was supposed to be a salad. I was so shocked I didn't ask what happened to the rest of my meal. If there were side dishes offered didn't know if there was supposed to be. It was $17.00 I'll never go there again. Must be new management.

The menu was great, not too cluttered and a great selection. The pizza I got was hands down the best pizza I've ever had in my life (cooked in a real stone pizza oven). When the bill came it was a little pricey, but given the quality of the food that's acceptable and expected. Absolutely hope to come here again.

Nice pleasing atmosphere. We did get our table right away and table service was great all the way through. I ordered the Tortelloni Four-Cheese pasta dish and hesitated about ordering the half order, decided on the full order. When it came to the table it looked like a half order. One piece of bread each when we sat down with balsamic vinegar I believe, no offers of a second. So expensive considering there was no garlic bread with the pasta for $22.00. The pasta was okay but for the price definitely nothing that stood out. Will I go again? Not likely as there are many other places that are much better and worth the value. ????????????

Well...3 of the 4 pasta servings were sent back due to uncooked pasta, so 1 guest ate her meal alone (shared it with the 3 who sent theirs back), the 2nd go around on the pasta was just cooked a bit more ...still pretty firm and starchy! We received a free tiramisu and bill was around $300.00 ...mediocre at best...certainly not $300.00 worth in any regard (service/ food)...won't be back which is disappointing as we liked this place very much!

Echoing the concerns of other guests, not only does this restaurant not take allergies seriously at all, but the management is incredibly rude. We had dined here previously with family, and found a piece of glass the size of a two dollar coin in our meal. However, after enough time had passed, we had hoped to have a better experience here. We could not have been more wrong. We arrived as part of a large group that had rented out the back room for a birthday, we had arrived a few moments early and wanted to have drinks at our already reserved tables before the rest of our group arrived. This is a commonplace request, to be seated early at a table that was not in use, but already reserved for our party. This was an insurmountable task for management, as we could only be seated for our reservation, 10 minutes later. To reiterate, we could not be seated 10 minutes early in an unoccupied room that was already reserved and arranged for our party. I understand that there are restrictions put in place by local governments that make it difficult to operate a restaurant. However, we walked across the parking lot to Boston Pizza and they were more than happy to seat us for pre-meal drinks. "sit anywhere" sounds a whole lot more inviting and polite than "I cannot sit you in your reserved room that nobody else is sitting in for 10 more minutes" The night was made further worse by one member of our party stressing their allergies to the server, who like with another guest whose review I also read, ignored them. There were a 2 or 3 Anaphylaxtic close calls over the course of a 3 hour dinner. To put that another way, there were three (3) possible separate occasions that guests in our group could have died during the 3 hour dinner in this restaurant because the staff actively chose not to take food safety seriously. We will not be returning to Sorrentinos

Veal was not tender but the vegetables were grilled beautifully and the Marsala as well as lemon sauces were delicious. Gnocchi was hard and gooey; I was scared to feed it to our 18 month old and our 3 and 5 year olds didn't want to eat it. They love creamy pastas... The sauce was tasty. Great pizza! Desserts were so disappointing. Service was rushed. The food and service did not match the price point of Sorentino's.

I had lunch today with 3 friends, and we were so pleased. We had great service, in a nice atmosphere, and the food was wonderful! Two of my friends had the fish of the day, with lots of nice vegetables. I and my other friend had pasta dishes - both good. The complimentary bread, along with garlic cloves in olive oil, was delicious. We shared a piece of cheesecake, and we all wished we could've had a whole piece, but we were watching our calorie intake :-). We sat by a gas fireplace, which had been off, but our server obligingly turned it on when we asked him to.

Have been to the St Albert location many many times as it’s one of my parents favorites. That’s said, I find some things are way over priced for what you get. I ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer at $15 and what I got was two little slices of a baguette (maybe 2-1/2” across. Hardly worth $15. The flavour was good though. I ordered the Sorrenrino salad with a chicken breast and to add the chicken was an additional $10. It was also good but not good enough to charge double what any other restaurant charges to add a chicken breast. $14 for a plain garden salad (mixed greens a couple cherry tomatoes and a couple olives) then the $10 for the chicken so my salad ended up being $24. A little pricy in my mind. Now my husband had the mussels for his appetizer with the spicy tomato sauce and he said it was amazing - a decent size portion and only $16 for the bowl full. Full order of the ravioli was $24 for 8 pieces!! Excessive (oh and my sister said it was under seasoned) Hard to make sense of the pricing.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. Staff is friendly, and extremely accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and inviting while not being overbearing or pretentious. Garlic fest is something that I look forward to every year. They create a unique menu to celebrate garlic. There is no restaurant I'd rather eat at during this time. The remainder of the year it is still a fantastic dinning experience. Perfect for a date night.

For the first time we sat in the bar area. It was nice, the light were low and it was quiet. I got fish and chips. The food was delicious, but I wish they gave me more fish than 3 pieces. Perfect place to go. Menu is really good. Remember Fridays are 25% off everything, except for the main menu. Drinks, wine, coffee, sparkling water, everything. I highly recommend this place.

Sorrentino's St Albert is a favorite of ours. For family occasions we use the dining room and for a couples night out we use the lounge. Their food is very delicious and portions are generous. The service is top notch as well. Both of these things make Sorrentinos a great break from the typical big box restaurants and pubs.

Had a glass of wine along with steak, and had a surprise cocktail spritzer drink made for us that looks amazing too. Tiramisu to share and coffee later were very good as well. Great Italian food. I had the Penne Arribiata because I love Italian sausage and it was served hot. It was tasty and hit the spot. Came with a group of 20 people and though it was a large group the service was friendly and courteous. The food was served in reasonable amount of time. Everyone was happy with their selection and all got their order right. The ambiance was nice and no one felt rushed. We had a good time and we will definitely come here again.

I wouldn't consider this the pinnacle of Italian dining but it'll feed your craving all the same. I would say it's made for Canadians. The service was quite well and prompt. Prices were starting to get on the high side but you do get large portions so be prepared to take some home.

Went on my wife's birthday for a special meal. Service was good. Salad and dessert were amazing. Unfortunately. the Cal-zone I ordered was terrible, INEDIBLE. Crust was dry and tough - like it had been micro-waved. Filling was some kind of spinach mush. Waitress thought I was kidding, but not. I was brought up to finish what Is on my plate - no can do with this meal, ate less than 1/2 and placated myself with an over-priced dessert. Go for salad and dessert, skip the entree.

I went on my birthday last Friday night, the service was awful! Stood at the front passed by many employees not spoken to once, ordered bruschetta and the bread was completely burnt in the middle and covered in tomatoes. The service was terrible and claimed it was a busy night but the restaurant was practically empty. Desert was old as well, definitely would not go back.

This is one of my favorite Sorrentino's restaurants to visit. The staff we had was excellent, the kitchen got the food out quickly & everything we tasted was delicious. We were a party of 6, and never once were the glasses empty or dirty plates left on the table. Thank you to the team at sorrentino's that made our dining experience fantastic. We were eating here just before we went over to landmark theaters to watch a movie. Yup, we made a Good call!

We went there on a Thursday night a group of twelve planing to enjoy wings and a couple drinks. The bar side was full but the other side was empty so we thought no problem sit there sit have wings and a couple drinks no problem. Haha wrong when we asked the waitress if we could get wings cause they were on special she said they don’t normally serve them on this side but she said she would go talk to the manager. After a brief talk she informed us they would not be able to serve us wing but we could wait the likely two hours until a table cleared on the bar side. Very disappointed in the outcome we left and took our business else where and had a great rest of the night.

I got dressed up for my 5 year Olds birthday. Put her in a dress and tried taking her for a nice dinner just her and I. The server seemed very inconvenienced at anything I asked. I have to chase him down for just drinks for my daughter and I. He brought out the wrong food that had stuff I was allergic to then took another 20 mins to bring food out which again was wrong. By the time the food I originally orderd came my daughter was long finished her food and I wasn't going to make her wait for me to eat on her birthday. I just didn't eat anything. Then the server tried to charge me for both adult meals he got wrong. Very Very disappointed in this establishment

Hmm. Im not quite sure if it was Ok or disliked it. I kind of liked it because of the people i was with but thats something else. It took ages for the order to come out. Mind you , it was a busy saturday but i was like it's worth the wait. Then i was in utter disappointment in terms of portion size and quality. There's nothing hard about italian dishes. You are better off making your own. Save yourself 40 bucks and buy tons of pasta and make it. But hey if you wana hang out , ita not really bad at the bar side especially if they have hockey on, i guess you can do that in any low class bar haha

I forget what I ordered but it was great. I requested an almost impossible steak, and they still made it perfectly. Sorrentino's is a place to bring people that you want to impress. I appreciate the waiter we had, he was attentive and witty-- he added to the dining experience as much as the food did. (We didn't eat the waiter)

Absolutely horrible. 16 people with a reservation booked 2 weeks in advance. 15 minutes before we where offered drink service , which they combined with our dinner order. Drinks 15 minutes later and food 90 minutes after that. Food was cold and below average for most in the group. , the managers reaction was oh well. The waitress did her best by her self, but also had 2 other groups to take care of. The manager is a waste and the food is not worth the visit. The first and last time I will go. Note: Tab was over $ 1000.00. Go some where else.

Finally got to try this wonderful place. Love the ambiance and our server (forgot his name) was very helpful and knowledgeable which made our dinner very delightful. If you wish to try this place, make sure you allot 2h or so to enjoy each meal (from appetizer--main course--dessert). We didn't get to try dessert but we'll definitely come back and try the other menu!!

This is the St.Albert Location . Only place I have ever been where the waitress forgot about us twice in one night , spent longer waiting for our drinks then it took us to eat . Usually great place for the wife and I to enjoy a drink and some appetizers . Perhaps Tues was a bad night for them . Was a few people at the bar becoming loud , clearly drunk . When asked to be quite by the owner who was socializing a table down from us , ( never an empty wine glass at that table I might add ) . The night ended for me watching the owner tell some drunks being loud to be quite , they did to be fair just paid bill and left all to 4 diffrent cars as those drunks DROVE away and owner watched making jokes about how drunks use be better people back in the day .... WTF ??? Will never be back for the fact that you care more about MONEY then the people you are serving or community your in . But hey the food was good and that's what matters here right ??????

We came in for dinner with few couples and had a small area to ourselves. The servers were a little non attentive but we were not in a hurry. We all ordered few specials and that was a great choice. The food was very good and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant has an interesting layout, with dining area tucked away and narrow bar area for lounging. We sat in the bar after to have few more drinks. Nice place. The specials were very good.

Called for a reservation. Showed up 10min early and waited and waited and waited for even eye contact from any of the staff present. Not even a host or hostess. But lots of staff walking around. The place was at best filled to 1/3 capacity. Best part is we needed wheelchair access which is why making reservations is important and polite to ensure preparedness on both parties. Its a little exrra work for both. Quite an insulting experience.

We went Sunday and it was good , had the halibut and chips and a pint of peroni . On Monday we went back and it was a total different atmosphere , the peroni came in a Alexander Keith's glass and tasted flat , waitress said they were about to change the keg when I ordered but gave me the old stuff anyway , new 1 came , still in a Keith's glass and still flat , food came and it was ok. But for 30 bucks a plate I expected better. Lots of other places to spend my money without this place

The food was great! The service was good, too. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Avoid placing the napkins on your lap because they shed a lot (had to buy a lint brush afterwards - LOL). If you purchase a main dish, ask what the pasta of the day is before selecting it (some pastas just clash with different meals). Ordered the lamb - it was great (few people can cook lamb well, but Sorentino's does it well). Their salmon is good, too.

Not good at all. I went for a OBGYN appointment in the plaza next to Sorentinos, and had a ton of blood work and stuff to do after my appointment (all conveniently in the same plaza) and had plans to meet a friend at Sorentinos after my appointment and blood work for lunch. I was at this plaza from 8:30 to 11:30. I came out, went to my car to wait for her to get there before we went in to sit, and I went back to my car to find a ticket!!!! They called me in for parking in their parking lot (which was literally empty). I just find it sad. So, in stead, I hopped in my car and met my girlfriend at Boston Pizza for lunch. I dont agree with ticketing someone because they are parked in I guess a designated spot for just the paying customers for this restaurant. However, I would have been a paying customer within a couple hours of being there, but they gave me no choice but to support a chain restaurant. Way to go, Sorentinos!

Not to long ago, my wife and I ordered some nice takeout from Sorrentinos and I was welcomed on the phone, but had forgotten the name of the meal my wife had wanted. I explained the dish to the lady on the phone and she helped me figure out the dish I wanted. When I came into the restaurant to pick up the order, the same lady that had took my order was at the front to greet me and she was incredibly pleasant and kind. I asked for her name, she said it was Sienna, thanks for the hospitality. Wonderful restaurant and even better employees + food!

I ordered pick up. It took 45 min for 1 pasta dish and a side of mushrooms at 3:30 in the afternoon. The worst part is when I got home I saw the pasta had no sauce and the mushrooms were hard. I doubt I'll be going back again.
