I love the downtown Edmonton location much more! I think the prices are a bit much for some items at this location and wouldn't shop here again. If you want great service with a family feel take the trip to Edmonton and get your stuff there!

My wife and I love this place! Being an Italian and having a heavy Italian culture, this place is as close as it gets! From the paninis to the desserts to the espresso and finally the groceries; it has a great Italian feel when you walk through the door. We live on the southeast side of Edmonton and we make sure we pay a visit once in a while to enjoy the great food, beverages and selection!

I absolutely LOVE coming in on Monday nights to get a cappuccino! Usually the same rotation of staff are work those nights. The young Barista, Jenna in the cafe is GREAT at making coffees!! and the young brunette man in the bakery was pleasant to interact with. Other days of the week are alright, but if you're thinking of stopping by for a latte and a snack, Monday nights are where it's at!! The owners should be incredibly proud of their staff, these guys are awesome! Giving 5 Stars for the service that never fails to be any short of helpful and pleasant. Thank you Mercato!

The sandwiches at the cafe were a little underwhelming, very simple for the price... The groceries are also a tad on the pricey side but probably because they are mostly imported, nice variety. Enjoyed the donuts. Will probably go back to try more baked goods.

Such a great place!! All of my favorites I haven't had since I was in Italy! Their Foccacia sandwiches are fantastic, and I highly suggest an Affogato (espresso and gelato to those who don't know)

Pretty small place, compared to an Italian Center shop. Their cafe seems nice, I ordered the cold brew coffee and it is very bitter. I had to add cream and sugar (but I have a bad sweet tooth). The fellow at the cafe bar was really nice and helpful. Cheers to him. The other staff were less than friendly, they all glared at me. I had to check in the mirror to see if I had something on my face or something. Not sure I'd go back since it is quite out of the way for me.

This is an amazing Italian store to shop at, the variety of food is mind blowing! I should have planned to shop there a little earlier as the wait for the check-out was long, on the flip side you get to check out all the amazing items in the bakery and deli when you do. I highly recommend this shop!

This is a great shop to browse in. Every time I discover new goodies I have not seen before. From the take home fresh pasta to the fresh baked goods. Always something great to take home. Friendly staff just adds the care to a already good experience.

You’re greeted with a waft of baked goods and coffee the minute you step in. The selection of baked goods , European grocery items , great selection of specialty cuts of meat , cheese, and sandwiches at a great price is enticing . Add to that it’s location close to the Sturgeon river and St Albert’s river trail system and it adds up to being a great experience .

Wonderful little gem of a store. The fresh pasta is a nice item to pick up for dinners later in the week. The dessert counter was huge with so many delicious options. A must to pickup a weekend sweet treat.

I go this Italian Center maybe once every couple of months, and every time I end up with the Racist cashier. She doesn't say hello or even acknowledge my existence, except to ask me how I would like to pay for my stuff. However, she has no problem sharing pleasantries with the Caucasian customers. Sometimes engaging in friendly conversations with the people after me in line, while completely ignoring me the whole time I am standing in front of her. What horrible customer service. I will not go back there again. I would give this place zero stars but unfortunately Google wouldn't allow that. Learn to treat your customers better regardless of their skin type.

Good quality pastries and food. However the staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming, especially at the deli- they always seem inconvenienced by customers. We have been coming for a couple of years but will be sticking to Spinelli's Italian Store. The customer service at Mercato leaves A LOT to be desired.

I enjoy visiting this store for their variety of fresh produce and reasonable prices, especially during peak seasons; and their bakery and deli are, in my opinion, among the best in our area and one of my favorites! I gave this store only four stars for two reasons - it's too small and often crowded, and I sometimes find stock to be an issue, but this won't stop me from visiting again! Be sure to grab yourself a treat and latte... yummy!

Loved it, my dad and I had veggie sandwiches and Italian sodas. The only thing was we noticed a few patrons that sat at the tables without being carded. Perhaps they were regulars and the servers knew them. Hope so.

Fantastic spot for shopping meats, cheeses, bakery, produce, deli and more. Authentic feeling right when you walk in. Exported goods from Italy and more. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great for breakfast, lunch and supper food. Oh and don't forget dessert!!!

Amazing selection in the deli and market. Was happily surprised to discover almost the entire selection of Summerland Sweets syrups! These are my favorite fruit syrups for waffles and pancakes but usually I can only find blueberry and occasionaly raspberry in any other store. Was super impressed with the bakery, and cafe. Will take me a while to try everything.

May 29, 2021. Love coming here. Love the atmosphere and all of the great products from Italy and Europe. I am a return customer and have never been disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. Viva Italia. Mini Italian Centre Shop with a bakery/coffee shop. I have been going to the Italian Centre Shop on 95 Street in Edmonton for years and this is a scaled down version. It is somewhat pricey but there is quality in the products they sell. I don’t Shop there all the time but when I do I always enjoy what I buy. The variety of olives and deli meats and cheese is awesome. It well lit and clean and the staff is friendly and courteous.

Very disappointed I was so excited to try the tiramisu cake Until I got home and it was frozen in the middle , they are frozen not fresh . The olives from the deli I had to throw out as they smelt like fish and were staring to taste rancid .

If I was just grading their donuts well they hit the nail on the head, yummy. Or the cleanliness they would have also hit the nail on the head but customer service is fairly lacking with friendly and welcoming staff.

Love this Italian Shop! They catered our wedding for an awesome price and everyone was stuffed and happy! Great food, great service, everything was on point!! If you haven’t checked these guys out make sure to stop by and get some of their premade panini sandwiches and bakery / deli items. Soooooo good!!!

First time here and we loved it. The baking is not only beautiful to look at, it is delicious, we tried the fresh donuts and they were so good. Nice variety of coffees and sandwiches too. Fresh pasta and sauce for sale, fresh baked bread and their meat counter was lined up. Nice variety of fresh vegetables and they also have kitchen accessories, nice touch! Very highly recommended and we will be going back. Service was friendly and fast, we were so impressed! ????????????????☕️

They have a small selection of gluten free products (nothing from the bakery though). If you don't have restrictions it's a great little shop for Italian goodies. They do have dairy free sorbet for a yummy summer treat.

The in-store bakery is of great quality and with a great assortment of goods. They also carry items no other store carries, and have some very good made-in-store pasta. The only downside is the location and the accessibility; turning into the lot is a pain, and the store is fairly small too.

You know how you walk into a bakery and you just know the amount of care they put into the goods? That's what this place feels like. Even though it's a bigger shop, it has a homey feel to it as well. My only gripe, and this is my gripe with just about any bakery these days, when I ask for a dozen, I expect a bakery to give a baker's dozen. I don't even care, full price, half price, whatever. 12 is not a baker's dozen. Sorry.

Great spot to find dry foods and bottled goods from Europe. Candy from Poland, cheese from Greece, condiments from the UK. And of course : plenty of terrific dry and fresh pasta options and deli meats. I'm taking one star off because the bakery uses cream substitutes in its pastries, and because the Mercato location makes prices higher than other euro delis.

Love this place, can't believe I haven't been here before! The store has an actual Italian grocer feel with an overwhelming amount of variety! Check out all the espresso options in my photo. Produce was appetizing and very reasonably priced. I was pleased to find BC cherries and peaches without having to wait in a gigantic line at the farmers market. The store was clean and well staffed. Lines moved quickly for the bakery and cafe, which btw, 2 drinks for under $8?!? Will be returning. Soon. Often. May never go elsewhere.

Was recommended to me for dounts by my sister. Bought Italian products there as well. I would recommend to others. Plusses 1. Onsite bakery 2. Well priced, quality, tasty donuts 3. Good selection of Italian and Italian related products 4. Good service 5. Fresh baking, baked onsite 6. Good price on olive oils compared to other places 7. Fresh pasta is made on site. You can watch the guy do it Minuses 1. Crowded during Christmas season in particular. The store is packed with goods making it a bit tight compared to a regular grocery store 2. Some products were priced higher than other Italian places I've shopped at in Ontario. Could be just because it is Edmonton. We wanted a large quantity of 00 flour but they only had small, expensive bags. We ended up buying it at the Costco Business Center for the quantity and price we needed 3. Cheese selection was small and pricey. 4. I didn't see any flavored balsamic vinegars General Comments Donuts were $15/dozen and there were a number of unique varieties. The filling was generous. Waaaaaay better than Tim Hortons and larger too. You have to get there early to get the lemon filled ones. Staff were friendly and one of they staff were directing people to the bakery to pay to reduce the line up which sped things up. We picked up a few other things like pestos which were priced similar to other places and olive oil for bread dipping. I would like to see some unique pasta shapes or colors. I think there was a bit. Overall Impression I definitely want to come back, if not for the unique Italian products, certainly for the donuts.

The Italian Bakery's Mercato offers an excellent assortment of imported, domestic and freshly made Italian and foods and baked goods. My family, though not Italian, ensures we have a few sweets fresh in our fridge weekly, and look for recipe items for our menu at home. When the Cafe has been open, my wife and I enjoy the coffee and pastries in a marketplace that feels like small town Italy. This is a hidden gem just outside Edmonton in St Albert.

I was treated by a friend recently for coffee (great selection of beverages) and enjoyed sitting on the patio with her other friends. Staff are attentive. Selection is outstanding and leans, of course, toward all things Italian but other international foods are stocked as well. Prices are very reasonable for such an "upscale" market. Don't let the name fool you - it's much more than a bakery. I suggest ample time to browse

It's a smaller version of the Italian Center I've been shopping at for over 40 years. A much smaller selection, but they've got the basics, and some nice surprises. Prices are a touch high, but not outrageous.

Washrooms are actually available which is nice since most restaurants and stores are arbitrarily closing them. I come here fairly regularly, and I visited one evening a little over a week ago on September 30th. It wasn't busy, and the gal working at the bakery counter was sitting texting on her phone out in the open, not even discretely...it's not professional to keep customers waiting while you sit on your phone on the floor. Then she starred at me rudely and expectantly, like I was supposed to initiate the transaction. It wasn't a pleasant interchange. It's not like I won't return, but it certainly made this store seem less professional.

A decent store with a full range of products, the pies are reasonably priced, I just wished they added a little more butter to the pastry and up the price a little to compensate for it, although the texture was great it just needed a little more. Imo that is ????

We always love to grab a coffee and have a wonderful little treat from the Italian Bakery. It's a treat to do some shopping, their fresh cheeses, meats, olives and vegetables are always top notch. I can't wait till our next visit every time we leave. Also the other night we were in the store grabbed our treasures and a coffee and on the way out we had a little accident and spilt one of the coffees. I went back in and told them what had happened and the wonderful lady at the counter replaced it for us no charge. We will always be back, but it just anchored us there even more. Thank you so much for the amazing service, and friendly atmosphere. Cheers

These look like these should be really good right? That’s what we thought! Until we got home and they were incredibly underwhelming!! They did not taste fresh AT ALL. The pastry was dry and we had a couple bites and didn’t even finish them, it was really disappointing. I will return to the store itself as we did not shop the rest of the store but as for the bakery, we were really disappointed.
