Food was great. However, if you order through skip the dishes I'd suggest making sure you're not missing anything before the courier leaves. I did not do this and realized too late that an item was missing, which the restaurant refused to correct even though they were paid. Skip the dishes was beyond helpful in resolving it, but I'm still very frustrated by the poor customer service.

I’m not one to complain to much about a place but this was my first experience with this restaurant. The food was great. I made a phone order after being hung up on 3 different times while on hold. Went to pick up the order. Of coarse the order is wrong. Then the price was $4 more than they told me over the phone. Not a total loss cause the food was great.

I ordered on skip the dishes and when my order arrived it was completely the wrong order. I called Cleopatras directly and the girl who answered told me her co worker gave the wrong order to the skip the dish driver. She then put the manager on the phone who told me they can’t do a credit for their error and he would make sure my order got delivered and to send back the other food (which I had already told him handled and opened). One hour passed and no food was delivered. I called back and they told me the cook was delivering the food himself and had left 10 minutes prior to my 2nd phone call. It was reaching two hours since my initial order and I called back a third time and the manager was extremely rude and told me to contact skip the dishes and it wasn’t their problem after he said there was someone on their way delivering it and they “take their customers very seriously.” What a joke and I was completely baffled this is how he chose to handle the situation. If I was the owner of this establishment I would be seriously re evaluating who is running the business when they are not around. Do not waste your money on this place. Absolute worst customer service I’ve ever received and extremely rude staff.

First time ordering from this place and i was very disappointed. Donair meat was hard to the point it was crunchy. The put the Donair in a panini press so I'm glad i asked for the sauce on the side. It would've been squeezed out. The humus ran like syrup it was so watered down. Plus the charged me for stuff I didn't order. Order at your own risk.

I have been ordering from here for YEARS, LOVE this place!!! The last time I ordered (about a month ago) my order was received cold, like yuck cold. Today I ordered, and the donair was near dry, and donair poutine was completely wrong..Supposed to be meat with sweet and garlic mix sauce and veggies, I got gravy. I called to complain this time, and she was like, sorry thanks for letting me know. Umm.. fix it? Replace it? Make it better some how? Might be time to start looking for a new favourite donair place.

Not good as used to be. Really slow service. Wasn't really busy but had to wait almost 10 to 15 mins for the order. I ordered chicken shawarma and fries. Pita was really hard. Another surprising thing was there wasn't any donair meat hung for cooking yet they served donairs. Seems like donair meat servered might not be fresh.

This one is for you Amy. Sorry it took me so long. :) I was visiting Red Deer in the middle of some tough circumstances, and decided to see if i could find a meal with my favorite food which is falafels. I called Cleopatra's and spoke with Amy and asked what could i get with falafels in it. Not only was the Falafel wrap i got so delicious, she even went above and beyond and made me home made Tahini sauce to go in it. I went to other places in Red Deer but no one even knew what that was. Which was surprising since its incredible and usually goes with falafels. So yummy! Also to all other customers, Amy is awesome , please try and give her a break. Like many of us with how crazy things are in the world right now, some days we all need extra grace, understanding and love because were simply just doing the best we can, with the massive stressful battles we have to fight behind the scenes in our lives, the ones that people just dont know about. Were all connected on this planet. So be kind and extend love. God Bless you Amy. Thank you so much for that amazing falafel wrap. It put some happy in my grey cloudy day. Probably some of the worst shawarma i've had. The portion sizes to price don't add up. Got the supreme chicken shawarma and did not enjoy it. The flavour of the chicken was barely noticeable. Tasted like cut up chicken breast not the standard cooked on a skewer. The lack of toppings is laughable. Out of any donair/shawarma place ive been to, non of them ever charged extra for the good toppings. Other loss of points is not having the double wrap of the thin pita which is pretty standard in any good donair/shawarma and the lack of hummus. I usually wouldn't mention that one but you sell baklava w.but don't have hummus? Pretty backwards. Don't waste your time or money with this place. Ten times better elsewhere. Couldn't tell you how they have a 4.3 rating on google.

Delicious, quick food. We got there just as the lunch rush was starting and there was only one person working so it was a bit slow. Someone else showed up about 15 minutes after we arrived and that sped up service significantly. The staff was very friendly. Cant wait to go back!

We ordered a $10.00 "family" sized poutine that was comparable to a McDonald's large fry spread out on a plate with left-over gravy and frozen cheese served to us cold. I mentioned something to the staff and was apologized to kindly. One staff member offered to make us a new one, but the other staff member microwaved our poutine and served it back to us. Never going back.

So, I'm from Nova scotia, and there's a lot of would be donair places out there. Never really bad, but many fail to hit the mark of excellence. Not so at Cleos. The donairs are legit, and on par with what I've had back home. The meat is fresh off the Spit, and its seared nicely on the flat top to make it extra hot and crispy on the edges. I've watched them make the donairs from start to finish, and they move and toss all the meat and veggies in the sauce while they put it on to make sure everything is covered in enough sauce. The Pitas are fresh and have a good chew to them. The panini press helps add a bit of crunch to it and all in all, keeps everything together in a nice little package. Top of the line man. And DO NOT skip the baklava. Home made in store, fresh and the real deal. Best donairs in town along with red city. Check 'em both out, you wont be disappointed!

Today was by FAR the worst experience we’ve had. We ordered through Skip, they do NOT have a gravy side option. So in the fries I upsized to a large for our family I put “please substitute gravy for the ranch”. These fries were NINE DOLLARS. I get a call that the restaurant wants another $4 for gravy. I finally agreed. I got neither the gravy OR the ranch and the fries were less than half full. And then my daughter who is ALLERGIC to tomato and loathes onions asked for them not to be on her donair. Sure enough, both were heavily on it. After waiting over 85 MINUTES to have three donairs and a “fry” and to be THIS disappointed will definitely have me telling everyone I know about this and hopefully they pay a bit more attention and care to their repeat customers because word of mouth travels fast.

My past three experiences have been bad. From the staff behind the counter not wearing masks properly or at all, to the workers being extremely rude. Our orders have been made incorrectly more than once, no big deal. But to have the staff flip through receipts trying to tell me I ordered incorrectly and they’d only fix part of my order. Of course to be met with the fact they made a mistake and I had ordered correctly. The one worker (if you’ve been I’m sure you know) is extremely rude, not personable at all. Also the last time I was in the store (I’m assuming her son) was skateboarding up and down the store hitting his board against the walls, and almost running into my friend and I. Their donairs are good but at this point I don’t feel comfortable coming into the shop. Today the worker showed up as the store was scheduled to open. We waited in silence for 5 minutes until she acknowledged us. The service here is really going downhill as to what it used to be. Oh and it would be nice if you took our order if you would wash your hands before handling our food, especially when we asked specifically that you do so. Also to get a message on Facebook from the owners personal page at 10:30 pm guilting me for my negative review, not exactly the best. Definitely worst customer service I’ve ever received from anywhere. I HAVE PHOTO AND VIDEO EVIDENCE OF STAFF PREPARING FOOD WITHOUT WASHING HANDS AND NOT WEARING MASK (WHICH IS CURRENTLY A MANDATE) .

Sorry Cleopatras, these were the worst donairs we have ever had. Normally I wouldn’t leave such a negative comment, but these were too horrible not to warn people. Not to mention the absolutely bizarre tasting ‘falafels’ (tasted like cashews with a pre-chewed texture). If you are thinking of ordering from here, save yourself the regret and just don’t. Hopefully this was just an “off” evening for them. I’ll never know because I will never make this mistake again.

Having bad experiences with there making of the donair sizes they make them not even the same alway shorting on the donair meat the large is the same as the jumbo and supreme there over pricing for least amount go to edmonton and Calgary there you get 200 gm for lg 250 for supreme and jumbo is 300gms and if therw making mutiable donair you will see the difference each donair this is not good business dont think i will be back over price for what little you get dont reack amendment going there unless they fix there amount the customer receives you get a lot more else were you should feel full when leaving

I have been going to Cleopatra's for almost a decade now. In my opinion, one of the best donairs in Alberta. Also, the family who runs this business are some really fantastic people. Try both sauces!

I wish zero stars was an option. This place used to have the best donairs/shawarma I’ve had. Our latest order was terrible, rancid veggies, undercooked falafels, the donair meat tasted off, the pitas were dry and soggy at the same time? , just the worst food I’ve ever tasted. When I called in I was offered extra veggies the next time I came in. I’ve never had such terrible service. What a waste.

Cleopatras is always our goto for Donairs and poutine but today was very disappointed with our "sauceless" donairs. Asked for both sauces and got none. Poutine was very good though.

Used to love this place but it’s really gone downhill - just tried to get food at 7pm and the girl said they were closed - their website and skip the dishes say they are open till 7:30pm - so disappointed - will have to find a new Donair shop with better service

Delicious, stay away from the Philly cheesesteak!!!! So just came back on here to adjust my opinion, just so anyone reading this June 2018 I gave this place a 5 star, unfortunately I'm here again approx a year later after getting 2 poor visits to this restaurant. Donairs have turned to soggy wet meat and the sauce has gone to Sh#t. This last visit will be my last unless I hear they have gone back to there old ways which I doubt they will, everything was soggy and gross even the fries, also my bottle of Pepsi was flat a complete and total disaster of a restaurant now. Sorry guys you can do better!

AMAZING Donairs, GREAT service, down right delicious. I'm from Nova Scotia, birth place of the "Donair" and they NAIL IT at Cleo's with a perfect mix of dressings and delicious meat. During peak times it can get busy but because there are so many repeat clients placing orders! If your strapped for time you can call ahead to pre-order if you are in a hurry. Keep up the good work fellas!
