Went to go in location and the walls and entrance were DIRTY ,when we went in we passed the buffet and the food looked great, when we went to sit down the table was dirty and the wall and heater next to it was dirty. We decided to leave as if it was dirty in the sitting area what was the kitchen like.

I eat Chinese weekly and all over the world. The buffet surpasses any I have ever eaten at for inedible food, poorly prepared, cheap ingredients, dirty interior, and rip-off over pricing. Stay away.

Seemed ok.. But the rancid or rotten lemon chicken was old as heck and I can't believe how it made it out the door. Grose!! Not going back. This place used to be really good but now: So disappointed ???? Today is the 17th of August 2018 I dared to go back and I was grossed out before ... but it's worse... ship was not cleaned properly and was all cooked together which I told the server/owner....and at the same time the cook comes out to take care of the old noodles I told them about and the continued to take the old noodles, mix/tossed them with the old and then put all the noodles into to warming server. WOW!!!! I got up paid and they wanted me to pay for the leftovers I wouldn't eat, which I refused to pay for. And told them to only charge my for two kids buffets or I was leaving and not paying at all. Discussing ????????????????????

I would say the best tasting Chinese food in Nova Scotia, buffet is amazing. Restaurant itself is uncomfortable with awkward seating but that's the only negative. Food staff, cleanliness, parking, all great.

Overall the service was decent and the food was as expected. To be fair, my visit occurred during “rush hour” so it was very busy. This isn’t a great spot to dine in during covid times as there isn’t a lot of room for proper physical distancing but overall I was very satisfied with the buffet. It was thoroughly and frequently re-stocked with lots of fresh dishes including dessert. I will return next time in Port Hawkesbury.

The food was really good, and there was plenty of it, even at 1:30 in the afternoon. Good service and good food is a winning combination, and here they have both. I will definitely be returning.

As they have all day buffet, the service is very quick, as you can start there immediately. There are over 16 authentic Chinese dishes to select from and if you prefer a la cart they have plenty to choose from. Maggie ( the owner) is very personable and friendly.

Price should be lower based on quality of food. On a positive note, they offer a wide selection and the customer service is great!

In all my traveling I have never ate in a place as dirty as this place.. I should have walked out but I didnt want to be rude.. from the dirty ceiling fans to the old food laying on tables and floors.. this was right out of the Texas chainsaw massacre.. I find it very hard to even give this restaurant 1 star. This was my first time eating here since the new owners took over. We ordered takeout. Got it home. Beef and broccoli had water sugar and garlic as a sauce ( or at least that’s what I was told Beef and broccoli was made off ). Well so was the the chicken chow menu and the stir fried veggies. Had to be the worst Chinese food I have eaten in all my life.

The food was very good but the wait was long. It was NYE and I ordered our food at 11:30am for a 4:45pm pick up. It wasn't ready until 5:30pm, and that was after asking the kitchen staff to check on it.

We visited this restaurant on July 8 2018. When you enter the restaurant you see at once that it is dark and old, not inviting at all. We went for the buffet , recommended by friends. We started with the only soup they had to offer, Won Ton soup, the taste was fine, but just warm. We tried the rice, noodles, steamed vegetables with meat, BBQ ribs, chicken wings, every thing was warm, not hot. The taste of all the dishes were blend, and tasted the same. The BBQ ribs were OK. The choice for dessert was limited, and not home made except the jello. There were cup cakes, slices of cake, jello, apple pie, and lemon pie. I didn't take any dessert, took instead some fried pastry with honey from the main food, and my husband took some jello. The owners were friendly! The bill for the two of us was $ 30.- not expensive, but we are not returning to this restaurant. again.

I have eaten at the China King Buffet a handful of times and everytime we were met with kind, happy-to-help people, and great tasting food! We usually order the buffet, which offers a variety of dishes, all of which are usually delicious, and fairly priced as well! Their menu offers a few vegetarian options, as well as their buffet! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys chinese cuisine.

I was there at least five minutes before I was offered a drink. The chicken fried rice and spring rolls had definitely gone bad. I had to go and find someone when I wanted to pay. And it wasn't even busy.

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Buffet is hot, fresh and quite extensive for the market size. This chef is obviously experienced and skilled. Friendly prompt service and price very reasonable. The building is aging and interior is a bit worn but kept clean and comfortable. I'm a professional chef of many years and recognize small nuances that tell me there is pride in preparing this buffet. The town of Port Hawkesbury is fortunate to have this quality of food service. Well done folks.

It's fairly standard american chinese. It's not the best but it caters to the small town clientele, so go in with that in mind. For vegetable dishes , you're better off to go to the buffet. The takeout vegetable dishes are often overcooked. If you order takeout, just do yourself a favor and skip the vegetable dishes.

Overall recommend. Parking is good for the area. The interior is well kept and as of the pandemic it is laid out with social distancing spacing in mind while the buffet line has been streamlined as well. The options for the buffet are the way to go at $12.99 unless you are a senior citizen and can get the senior meal deal. Overall our favorite thing was the soup dumplings. They dumplings were stuffed and the soup was delicious. It was light cabbage based soup. Check it out if you want tasty, quick, and lots to eat.

Love the all you can eat buffet. The sweet and sour sauce is really good. The shrimp on the buffet are amazing! Chicken balls are huge, they even have pie or jello for dessert. Give them a try. They also follow covid rules. 2 different time frames for the buffet, we like the 2:30 PM one. It has wings ,shrimp, honey garlic ribs, chicken balls, etc.etc...????????

Passed through on my way to Sydney with a group, we were all craving Chinese food and found this hidden gem. The food was amazing and the service was fast and very friendly. We were very appreciative of their Covid safety measures and the overall welcoming atmosphere.
