I'm grateful we have The Smokin Buddha in PoCo and proved the naysayers wrong - people do want different and I love it! Whether you're fortunate to come across the food truck at a local market/festival or stop in to dine - your greatest feat will be what to have - so try the Mange Trois of apps - my faves are: pork gyoza (I can't replicate, I've tried), crab puffs, veggie samosa (a must-have snack at the market) - sorry to see Spicy Curried Goat Roti is no longer on the Appetizer menu for the perfect Mange Trois - great to share with a table or meal for two. BUT Thai Green Curry is back on the Curries menu - YEY! My absolute Buddha Favourite is ... KOREAN BEEF NOODLES - SO PLEASE don't take that away too ;) And then you have the specials to contend with. Enjoy a cold pint from an excellent selection while you ponder this great dilemma.

First time visiting Port Colborne and this restaurant was first one we saw on the map. Once we looked at the menu we wanted to try it. Food lived up to the pics! tasted delicious, the Kimchi Pockets were a great blend of flavours that exploded in my mouth with every new bite adding another layer: sweet and spicy!!

I am obssessed with eating here! It is definetly my favorite restaurant! Their appetizers are all the perfect size and so yummy (the buddha flatbread is my favorite, its so unique) ! I love to order their weekly specials but everything on the menu is spiced perfectly and so delicious! The enviornment is very friendly and fun; they also have an awesome patio with live music some nights! Make sure to make a reservation before you go, all the locals know it is the best restaurant around!

Yum! Small restaurant with Asian themed offerings. Honestly the menu here is great, if you are looking for something different. Steamwhistle and a few craft beers on tap. They post new specials to their Facebook page. If you are traveling the Friendship Trail by bike this is a stop to make. They have a bike rack and a repair station. Great food, nice patio in the summer and friendly staff.

Waiter service was TERRIBLE! Waited over 30 minutes and waitresses would plainly ignore. A waitress (Brunette) had the nerve to make small talk with some customers who were obviously drunk and done with their meals for about 15 minutes NEXT TO US!!! (Literally 2 feet from us). After she was done, she just pretended we didn't exist or something and left. That was very funny though. She didn't even bothered to see if we were being attended already. My mom noticed some people who came around 20 minutes after us and were served right away by the same brunette waitress. Unbelievable. There were not many people at all (few tables unoccupied) Had to check with bartender about ordering. He asked if a waiter served us already (after 30 minutes) and we answered no. He said: "oh, wow". Chris (bartender) was so nice, he brought us drinks to our table and completed our order instead of the waitresses; which is their job. Fire the waiters. I would if it was my business. At the very least they should attend a customer service class. Give a raise to Chris. He was so nice and did the waitress' job. I didn't get the waitress' name. Doesn't matter. Rude people deserve no recognition (or a very generous tip). Lol. Terrible service. Food was OK. RUDE waitresses/waiters. We went there around 9:20 pm. In summary, I wouldn't go ever again.

Port Colborne is unbelievably lucky to have The Smoking Buddha. The food is the most sublime mix of eastern flavours covering India, Thailand, Korea, and Vietnam (I made this part up based on what I've eaten off the menu). The atmosphere is from another world, more akin toe NYC and London UK. The owner is a darn fine man. Do yourself a favour: Eat here. Often.

Atmosphere and staff are nice, no complaints. The food is....okay. The theme I noticed was very sugary dishes; the Thai curry just doesn't taste like any curry I've ever ordered from a legitimate Thai restaurant. It was lacking the distinct curry spice combination and was very sweet. Likewise, the samosas were served with a sauce I can only describe as being a syrup. I would have put it on my pancakes, not paired it with the flavour of a samosa. Even the Korean Noodles were served in a sugary sauce that left me unable to finish the portion. Maybe I'm just being too picky, but why offer specific cuisine when your recipies are far from the real deal? If you want Asian food, I would suggest you order from different restaurants. Beer selection was nice, and the house brew was pretty tasty.

The gyoza were amazing! Baked, not fried, veggie samosa. The serving sizes were perfect and we had to try each other's main dishes. My friend ordered another one of mine just to take for lunch the next day. Wish I had ordered his too! All local wines which were a great choice. We'll make the trip back for sure.

The staff was kind with our reservation request but asked if we could come 15 mins sooner than requested as there were other large groups coming. They provided a wonderful meal made right in front of us that we all enjoyed. Some portion sizes looked smaller than others, for lighter eaters it was perfect but for hungry people like would have left me a little empty. Jerk chicken bowl however was packed and filled me up with great food. Would definitely recommend.

Went to this restaurant based on a friends recommendation. Amazing place for dinner, great environment with friendly service and excellent food. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking to support local business. The menu has a variety of choices, you can’t go wrong. The menu items indicate the spicy level, which we found accurate. My meal was cashew chicken, my friends ordered butter chicken (spicy), and peanut curry.

It was just okay. We were seated outside and a storm came up and they couldn't accommodate us by going inside because the place is so small. The food was good and the servers were very good. I suggest to anyone who plans on going to make reservations first. I find it a wee bit pricey for Port Colborne and I wouldn't go running back.

I thought I finally had a chance to try some of the Smokin Buddha cuisine at the recent Graze The Bench but not so - they had 2 features (which by the way looked delicious) BUT they were both hot spicy and not everyone can eat or enjoys hot spicy food. Tip - in the future - have one hot/spicy entree and one that is NOT so those of us (and there are lots of us) who don't enjoy the heat can have a sample.

One of Niagara's treasures to be sure. A diverse menu with Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free options. The Yellow Curry is my all time favourite and the Lavender Creme Brulee is the stuff dreams are made of. Seating is limited in the sense that it is always busy! Definitely make reservations ahead of time to ensure a table and delicious meal. Great staff and check them out at local niagara food festivals and markets.

Ordered take out, right from the hop the guy on the phone was friendly while taking our order. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by all the staff while we waited for our food to be ready. Everyone was very hospitable. The owner brought the food to us himself and thanked us for our order which was a nice touch. Food was very tasty, butter chicken was very creamy and the udon soup full of flavour. Samosas were also very good. Only complaint was the chicken pieces in the curry and soup were a little chewy. All in all it was a pleasant experience and great food. Will be back to try out other menu options in the future.

I ordered the pork gyoza, crab puffs and chicken pad Thai. The Pad Thai was really good and flavourful. The gyoza was also good, but I was expecting a dipping sauce other than just soya sauce. The crab puffs were ok, I wanted more of a deep fried pastry puff, but it was more a wrap. I ordered at the restaurant and was given a time of 25-30min when it actually took closer to 40min. Also the menu was different (smaller) then what I seen online and for now if you want to eat on the patio, they stop seating people 1.5-2hrs before closing. But you can still order take out.

I'm literally sitting here while all the delicousness has sunken in! I love it! It's tasty. The aroma and flavors are FANTASTIC!!! I can see myself driving here again (even tho its an hour and 15min drive.) I had menage trois (3 apps); sobo pockets, naan pizza and avocatta dip (its not a traditional avocado guac - it's like, summer in a bowl!!!) It's fresh and ohhh soo good! I'm very happy i was introduced to this restaurant!

Stopped here for a some small appetizers before hopping into a ship in the canal. This place has a nice interior decoration along with outdoor sitting. Pretty busy when my coworker and I arrived, but service was great. Ordered the Avacotta Dip and Bangkok Fish Cakes, the dip was good and the fish cakes was a little bit sweet. Next time will try their main dishes (curries and favorites).

I wish I could give this place a good review but unfortunately they literally almost killed me as a result of their complete disregard for my allergies. I told the waitress I had allergies to tree nuts and asked her if she could check with the chef for recommendations. She came back with several recommendations and I ended up picking one (Butter Chicken). I turns out that the Butter Chicken had cashews which the waitress claimed was not a tree nut. Fusion restaurants like this are typically more careful when it comes to allergies including nuts. I'm disappointed that it ruined not only the evening but my entire weekend as I recovered in the hospital.

Artichoke dip was bland. crab roll was more of sandwich wrap that had a bland filling. Korean noodles was a small bowl for what you pay for and was dull. I think people think this place is sophisticated but I think they’re just in love with the name of the place.

Every appetizer and entre I have had from here have been fantastic. Whether you're feeling some Mexican food, I highly recommend the Chicken Enchilada, or have a hankering for a Korean dish, the Korean Noodle is amazing. In fact, Kevin gave me this spicy red sauce (generic name I wrote here forgive me I don't remember the exact name of it), and it was perfect for the Korean noodle. I'm very much looking forward to my next meal; the Vindaloo Curry. I have had multiple friends recommend and say it's a "must try". Plus, very friendly staff who go out of their way to make your dining experience an enjoyable one, whether it's take out or for eating there (looking forward to that soon!). If you're ever in Port Colborne, or Niagara generally, and are looking for some diverse selections of international cuisine and top level service; The Smokin' Buddha is the way to go 100%. First time to Port Colborne and so a first for Smokin' Buddha. Was totally taken back by this fantastic little restaurant in the old train station. It was such a lively atmosphere with people eating and having fun. It is always a thrill to watch your food being made and the food we had was fantastic. Port Colborne is seeing a real rejuvenation of the old downtown core. Lots of great shops, cafes and restaurants. I would highly recommend making this place one your stops

Was asked whether reservations were made (6:30PM), when we answered no, we were told they were booked solid until 8:30 (the restaurant was half empty). Really short sighted not to have tables in surplus for drop ins...I mean we weren't even offered a table or spot at the bar? No reservation...no meal. We took our money elsewhere and had a great meal at Walters/Neptunes. So; when the trendy Budda refuses you service, head over to Walters (Greek food +), they were glad to serve...and the food was great. (reasonably priced too.) I won't be back to the Smokin Budda, wouldn't recommend to friends and won't be making any reservations.

I had such high hopes for this place when I moved to Port Colborne because this restaurant has vegan options. Honestly, my partner who eats meat has enjoyed his meals here. However, this was my 4th visit to this restaurant and every time has been worse! I first tried the bowl which was okay but I felt like I could have easily made it myself for half the price. Second and third time I tried the green and peanut curries - both instances the tofu was uncooked and unseasoned. I tried to chalk it up to the hope that maybe curries were not their specialty, and that some other meals might be better. On this fourth and final try, I ordered vegan pad Thai thinking it was a fail safe. Not only did the noodles have no sauce but had RAW Green beans in the dish and barely cooked peppers in the dish. It was literally one cup of rice noodles with raw vegetable and peanuts on top. My partner who will eat literally anything wouldn’t even finish it when I decided to order from Lucky Thai instead. Not only have I given this place 4 chances, but it has been steadily worse every time. I can only speak for the vegan options which I would say are a no go. Raw unseasoned tofu is never okay. Go to lucky Thai instead.

Was looking forward to dining here after a recommendation. Saw it was featured on "you gotta eat here!" In 2013. Things must have gone downhill since. On arrival was greeted and seated promptly. Appetizer sizes are very very small and hence pricey. Had a yam Burrito for the main, was very small and lacked flavour other than Yam. Wasn't offered a drink refill until the very end, my wife was not offered one at all even though her glass was also empty. When the bill came it was incorrect.The servers notified all other guests except for us of the two dollars off on Wednesdays for appetizers but charged us full price, was not very impressed by this.

Tried the Singapore noodle. I love spicy food. I have a degree from George Brown College in cullinary arts. This dish was so salty that I had a hard time eating it & sent back 3/4 of the dish. My wife had the butter chicken and I must addmit was good along with the appatissers. Receiving the bill of $72. My wife asked if they would credit the salty dish. They flat out said NO. They say no salt is added, but fail to mention the soya sauce which is whare the salt comes from. Sad, I'm a local home owner and will never recomend this restaurant. If you have strong cooking skills and just want someone to cook for you & enjoy spicy foods. Try Amigos across the street. You get quality food at a fair price. I also feel they would hear your complaints and tend to them in a professional manner. Unlike the Budda, who showed no concearns about my unhappiness with the food. Not mad, just disappointed. Just my experience!

Really can't say enough good things. The food is outstanding! It was recommended that I try the pad thai, one of their best sellers- it was delicious! The Veganuary Steam Buns were delicious as an appetizer but would also work well as a main. Didn't plan for room for dessert on this trip, we'll attempt to do so on the next one. And there will most definitely be a next one. The staff is friendly and helpful and really seemed to be enjoying what they do. The atmosphere in an old train station is rather interesting. Seating is somewhat Limited.

First time trying food from this restaurant and the experience was ok. We ordered the pork wontons but instead of wontons we got dumplings... and no, they are not the same. The dumplings tasted like the ones I get from the grocery store nothing special and they were a little oily. It came with soya sauce to dip. We also ordered chicken PadThai and special Pad Thai. The flavour was good and not overwhelmed by tamarind flavour or colour like in other restaurants. The portions were very generous and most of the ingredients seemed fresh although the chicken was cut in cubes and it appeared that it was previously cooked and frozen, then added to the mix. Will try other dishes next time. I ordered by phone for take out. The person taking/handing in my order was polite and pleasant. The order was ready within 20/25 minutes as they said although it was around 2 pm and wasn’t that busy because of Covid restrictions.

Menu choices unlike any you will find elsewhere. Thai, Mexican, Caribbean or American choices if dishes. We started with the Bangkok Fish Cakes. Three Moist delicious cakes served with a spicy cucumber dressing. Thai Green Curry was made with coconut, green beans, possibly basil but very delicious. Just enough heat to be interesting. The Pad Thai was served with rice noodles on the bottom, chicken, tofu and nuts w/ cilantro then topped with sprouts. The heat level was a "2". Just right! Our server; Alicia was first rate. I ended up tipping too much because we used American dollars, but never mind. Our meal was excellent.

Horrible! They moved my boyfriend and I 3 times! Took forever for our food to come. The three men cooking didnt have hair nets on.....we ordered soup to go before we finished eating and ot took an extra 40 mins after we ate for less then half a cup of soup, $9 for a half a cup of soup is totally not worth it. Friday Sept. 5th, me and Kathryn joined some friends at the restaurant. we brought our own wine. we really enjoy bringing people here because of the variety and quality of their food. this time the Satay Chicken was cooked to r-tsh-t, the pork was dry and the beef in the Korean Noodles was tough. the remainder of the meal was great, the Pork Gyoza, the Fish Cakes, Curried Shrimp and the Pad Thai. how could you do this?

It's a little restaurant, but the food is amazing. We had Chana Masala, Buddha Noodles and Pad Thai. All three dish were great, but the favorites coming from the Pad Thai was amazing. Spicy and sweet at the same time, but not to sweet. Book a reservation, because a lot of people got turned away.

Went to Smoking Buddha for the first time today for lunch. It was awesome. The crab Rangoon was out of this world! My Korean fried chicken was delicious. However the menu said chicken leg and I got a chicken cutlet. Our server, Corinne who was amazing offered to take it back but it was tasty. She also offered a complimentary dessert but I certainly did not need it. So even with the mishap between the delicious food and excellent service we will be back.

this food truck has a gratuity page on there POS machine. You have to pay & tip before they make the food. If you don’t want to tip, you have to scroll down to ‘no tip’ and enter. It is an uncomfortable way to start your food purchase. frankly you should not tip as there is no tableservice and you r ordering at a counter of a truck.

My first and only visit was very disappointing. The Butter Chicken tasted like it was just tomato soup on a few pieces of chicken. I love Indian food and was told this place was good. It wasn't particularly busy but staff seemed uninterested in checking on tables. I hope it turns around because I've heard that when the owner is in the kitchen it's fantastic.

Went there for the second time in two months. First time experience was almost acceptable. Food was good but service and food delivery was slow. Didn't think we would go back but tonight thought we would give it a second chance. Place was busy but had a table after a short wait. Bit of a wait before we got menus and ordered our drinks. Longer wait before placing meal order. After a 25 / 30 minute wait asked our waitress if she could check on our order and was advised it was coming up. Another 10 minutes asked for drink bill and advised we were leaving especially after tables that had arrived after us had already been served. Was advised they were plating our order but I just left money to cover drinks and left. Won't be back.

Delicious! We ate here 5 years ago and never forgot it. When we were in the Port Colborne area again we went back for lunch. Just as good as I remembered. I wish there was a restaurant like this near where we live.

This is a special eating spot in Port Colborne! Great food, great service and nice atmosphere. Wish it would have been a nice day to sit on the patio but it was raining out. Highly recommend the smosas as an appetizer.

Always the talk of out of towners when I say I live in Port Colborne... "Oh, I love that Smokin Buddha restaurant in Port Colborne!"... Yup! We do too... Please bring back the cashew chicken!

We called ahead for a reservation and they said they only had a spot open right away. We drive down there right away to see the restaurant is basically empty. Five staff members standing around doing nothing and no one came over to help us. After a couple minutes we just ended up walking out. We have tried their food before at markets and just wanted a nice night out. We ended up heading over to another restaurant and got served right away. This was definitely a disappointing experience.

This place is a must if you are in the area, it serves AMAZING food. We started with the coconut soup and salad. It is so flavorful that my boyfriend actually ate salad, which he never does. He ordered the tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly. I had the green curry and it did not disappoint, just a perfect balance of spice.
