Came on the first night since last lockdown. Service was amazing the staff and owners are all so friendly and they even killed a spider for us. I had the pulled chicken tacos, which were DELICIOUS. And my friend had specialty item due to allergies to gluten, dairy, and a few other things and they were really accommodating there. 10/10 would recommend them for future dining. OH! Plus the mango martini is scrumptious.

Came for the first time. Waitress to busy to acknowledge me at the door. I really feel invisible. My wife and daughter arrives few moments after me We order the Korean pork belly “tacos “ and nachos. The nachos where layered with the cheese and the toppings. ( nothing special neither good or bad ) “Tacos “. Well....... barely any meat in them ( maybe 4 ounce on 3 tacos ). They where supposed to have a slaw . Barely any. And fired scallions ( green onions more like ) $20 for the order. But the tortillas where completely cold, I bet they never even touch the grill or flat top, The “ chipotle mayo “ no flavour. So I think that is my first and last experience there. Hope other people have a better experience

Our group had to change our reservation 3 times as we were in a sporting event that ran really late. Staff were more than accommodating and understanding. Bonus is that the food and service were both excellent! Keep up the great work, we’ll be back!

This restaurant has a great atmosphere which I have enjoyed on many occasions. Living near by, I have also enjoy getting takeout and delivery. Everything I have tried is delicious, however I’m especially a fan of their pastas and burgers. The staff is wonderful, would recommend this place to anyone!

Attentive staff and delicious food. Cozy atmosphere and a good beers on tap - came here for a get together with some friends and coworkers and don't regret it. The food was very well prepared and the staff was on top of everyone's needs. Had a good evening out and definitely hope to have a repeat experience in the future.

I met up with my parents from out of town and my frail 90 year old grandmother for dinner at Gerti's in early December. My grams isn't well and decided to tell our waitress all about her bowel issues she happened to be having that day. The young lady was absolutely lovely and attentive to her needs, bringing plain toast and warm water for tea, regularly checking in on her to make sure she was feeling OK. Wonderful service, above and beyond!! Every entree we ordered was delicious, we all had different specials and cleaned our plates. The beverage selection was ample and the pours were generous. This visit solidified Gerti's as one of Peterborough's best restaurants for me !

It was not awesome as I had hoped. The red curry noodles were bland and needed a ton of salt. The club sandwich had a tiny sliver of chicken and cost 19 dollars! It cost 6 dollars to add tofu to a meal which is insane. It was really disappointing as the food looked amazing coming out. The drinks were really good though....cinnamon martini was amazing.

Wow super yummy! Stopped in Peterborough for first Friday art shows, and afterwards had a bite at Gerti's . We got the bison burger, poutine, chicken wings with Korean barbecue sauce. They were all really good! The meal is also very filling, as they gave good portion sizes. We had to take some of it home.

Dinner last night was incredible! Lobster Alfredo was one of the specials and I have to say I’ve never had such a delicious Alfredo as this one. Hubby had the seafood pasta, equally yummy! As always the cheesecake was exceptional. We return to Gertis for several reasons including the service which is always fantastic, but mostly for the most delicious dishes anywhere in town and because it’s consistently above par. Thank you Gertis for a lovely anniversary dinner on the back patio. It was perfect.

We stopped in here on recommendation from someone we met earlier in the day. Very disappointing, we had ordered 3 steak dinners, all 3 were cold, from the steak to the vegetables, 2 of us declined and one ate theirs anyways, very strange to see salad piled on the plate with a steak, that’s big no no, as the juices from the steak, (that to also mention, had a red wine reduction poured over it)…. would run into the salad .service was quite poor also, while trying to see if I would like something else, the waitress walked away to see to another table, on a not so busy time.

We (party of 5) stopped here on a Saturday night during the Head of the Trent. The place was packed, so we had to wait a few minutes, but were quickly seated. The service staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious and the dining environment was comfortable. It was our first time there, but I would recommend Gerti's. Looking forward to dining there again.

Always excellent service. Food great with lots of variations and flexibility. Good drink selection (try the grasshopper). Patios both front and back. Great atmosphere. Loooove that there’s no TVs. Our to go place in Peterborough with clients or friends. So happy Gertis is open for lunch again! This is not the average menu in Peterborough so if you are looking for a change and really good food Gertis is the place to go. The warm salad warms my heart. We will be back again and again.

Gerti's is the post-game destination of choice for my ultimate frisbee team. The food is phenomenal and they have a great rotating selection of beers on tap. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The space isn't very large, but has the feel of an upscale pub. Booths line the outside walls, with tables available elsewhere. There is a great, intimate patio out back.

Came back to visit after new owners took over. Love it. Decor is great, it's clean and the food was wonderful several times I've visited over the past few months. Great app's, friendly staff and I always bring out of town guests here for meals and long lunches. The greek slouvaki dinner is great, desserts are insanely good. Salads are fresh, great variety of apps.

Good service, friendly staff. Burger was amazing, crispy crunch cheese cake was good, but the crust was very salty. Roasted potatoes came out just warm, not hot. So I took them home instead of eating them with my meal. Sure it just little kinks that will be worked out. Wonderful atmosphere.

Went for a late lunch on the patio on a Saturday afternoon. Firstly - the food was INCREDIBLE and the servings are beyond generous. We had the beet salad, the power bowl, the fish tacos, and the fried chicken sandwich and would easily order any of them again. The food was all bright and fresh, and house dressing for the salads was out of this world. Secondly - the service was fabulous. Our server Sam (hope I remembered that correctly!) was charming, friendly, efficient, and though hustling the whole time we were there, she remained absolutely in-tune with our table and where we were with our meal. I met the owner (I wanted a lid for my dressing container to take rest home with me!) Diana who was delightful, as well. Highly recommend!

Gerti's food is unbelievable! My favourite thing is their soups which change weekly. They go above and beyond for their customers. It is always a pleasure to eat here even now, with the lockdown in place, the curbside pick up is convenient and hassle-free. LOVE!

The presentation was fabulous and nice staff however my salmon was extremely dry and tough. I had it there years before and couldn’t wait to get back to Ptboro to have it again. Huge disappointment. I declined to say anything because my date was trying so hard to please me. The vegetables were very good. Nice and crisp and not soaked in butter or salt.

Talk about a restaurant and bar with good ambience in Peterborough, this definitely ranks high on that list. I like the staff's helpfulness. The only downside is that the vegetarian options aren't many, although their willingness to make things as per the customer's needs is commendable. There's very little to complain about in terms of food. I love their appetizers and mains. Highly recommended for folks with an extra couple of bucks to spare because this isn't the cheapest place around.

We had a lovely dinner at Gerti's. I was expecting a pub from the exterior, but it is more upscale, beautiful shining wood, friendly, warm staff, good service and great food. This might be our new favourite Peterborough restaurant. Price was reasonable, not inexpensive, but good valule. The ribs are great - a little different, and falling off the bone tender! Highly recommended!

It has been a while since my wife and I have gone to Gertis. Before the ownership change the quality of food was dropping month by month. Service 5/5: Gave the new ownership a shot last week. Same atmosphere and same great service. It also helped that we were one of four tables there so our server wasn’t getting bogged down with anyone else. Drink 3/5: It appears that the beer varieties took a bit of a dive. No local taps and nothing in the way of a true craft beer. Before the ownership change there was Smithhavens on tap which really helped with the local Peterborough feel. Beers on tap were generic enough for a bar, the Innis and Gunn IPA Mango was pretty bad though. Beer was served quickly and poured properly. Food 5/5: Huge improvement on the food front from previous ownership. They kept certain aspects of the old menu that worked including the style of French fry and dip. I am a huge breaded chicken guy and I can honestly say the buttermilk chicken burger is hands down the best chicken burger I have ever tasted. Food comes out hot, properly cooked and in the perfect portion. Cost 4/5: Looks like the costs went up from previous ownership. But that being said the higher cost has translated into much better food. He ready to pay and extra $2-5 for your meal but it’s worth it. Not much else to rate here. Gertis is back on our rotation of restaurants in Peterborough after being taken off for almost a year. The new ownership has been refreshing and I hope people give it another chance like myself and my wife did. You’ll find the same great atmosphere and service and a much improved, yet familiar, menu.

I went out last night for dinner and had the most wonderful waitress and great food. The waitress was very attentive and kind. I have not had an experience this wonderful in a long time. I believe her name was Sam but I can't remember. The food was great and atmosphere was beautifully done with some Christmas decor. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere, awesome service and spectacular food. Started with muscles special which was a perfect start to a perfect dinner. Dennis had the Tuna special which was cooked to perfection over an avocado base. I enjoyed a spinach and feta filled filo pastry with roasted red peppers and Greek salad that was absolutely awesome. Finishing with a fresh brewed coffee that ended the meal perfectly.

Passed by Peterborough few days a ago and pick Gertis for dinner. As weather permitted, we chose to dine in the patio. Food was great and filing, staffs are all friendly as well. The atmosphere in the patio make us felt pretty relaxing. Definitely recommend if anyone pass by Peterborough

Had dinner with my friend and originally asked for a side of jalapeños with our nachos. I had to ask three different waitresses for it and once we received it, our nachos were already done. I found a hair in my chicken flatbread. I told the waitress and she gave me free dessert which was good, but I totally loss my appetite. Manager told me that she was wondering how that happened since the cooks are males with short hair and made it sound like it was my hair. I told her it was underneath the toppings and I had to pull the hair out of my mouth. The service wasn't the greatest and won't be coming back.

Went as a large group, we had three tables. Each table got served about 20 mins apart. Very slow, even with the understanding that we were a large group, and therefore a little stressful for the kitchen. Food was alright, not really anything special, and slightly over priced, we as a group did have have a good time, but overall not happy with the level of service we recieved.

We actually enjoy the food here and there is lots of variety on the menu. Our guests thought that the portions they ordered were very generous: Salmon & club sandwich and we had fish & chips & a Cobb salad. Our food is always good, however as it is winter, we were inside (we've only sat in the outside patio up until this time). There was a large table (about 12-14) next to us and they were so noisy, it was hard to hear ourselves talk. Service was good, however, we did not enjoy the loud atmosphere that evening. I would recommend not going there on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening. We went on a Thursday in late November.

Nice dimly lit comfortable atmosphere for dinner. The food is fresh and the selection is quite well diverse. Almost everything in the menu is quite tasty. They have decent bar with varied selection. The wine selection... Well there isn't one really, but the very limited selection that they carry compliment their food menu. I wish that they would bring their lamb shank back.

Food was great! We ordered for takeout and the food was still hot when we got home to eat it. The Caesar Salad was delicious! Definitely their own dressing used. My husband had Elk Tacos and said they were amazing. His first time trying Elk. I had wings and poutine and it was also delicious! Met up with some girlfriend's this past weekend. Several of the ladies had dined at this establishment previously. They mentioned the food was really good here. We ordered drinks and checked out the menu. I found that there were numerous items on their menu that I wanted to try out. I settled on a glass of Sangria which was delicious. I ordered the mussels that were on special that evening. I believe they were a Mexican dish with bacon and shucked corn. portion was quite large for an appetizer.

Stopped in for a quick snack - she had fries, I had nachos. The fries were awesome...loved the sauce served with them. The nachos were cold and the "oven baked chips" were slightly stale and covered in an inch of cold, hardened cheese. Not for me, but wishing you well! _____________________________________________ Response to response :-) Hey! Thanks for getting back to me. The problem we had, was time...which is why we kept the order small, quick and simple. You reviews were great, so we took a shot. It literally looked as though it was a bag of chips and veggies dumped on a plate and a brick of chees melted in the microwave over the top and then left to cool before they came out. I pulled most of the cheese off and set it aside, and 3/4s of the chips were plain, uneaten and left. All the cues were there for the server, and we really weren't in the position to wait on a redo. Because you took the time to respond though, and I loves me some nachos, I will swing by again and give it another shot one day soon. Thanks again!

Large booths which allow for a pleasant amount of privacy and noise-blocking to a degree - expensive food that is not especially appetizing or worth the cost - Servers do not treat patrons well unless they're older white men; assuming this is why they are the majority of the clientele.

A friend and I have been meeting in Peterborough for years, once a year to catch up, the place we've been going to closed during Covid Unfortunately. Gerti's was amazing. Great food and great service. I had one of the daily specials, blackened snapper with a tomato sauce and shrimp, rice and veggies and it was spectacular. My friend had fish and chips and it was really good and the portions were huge. Best of all, it was reasonably priced with an extensive menu. I think we've found our new meeting spot. 10/10

I wouldn't consider it a budget-friendly spot, but the food is well worth the price. Everything that I have eaten here has been excellent, both in taste and plating. It can be quite loud and busy, simply because it is such a hot spot downtown.

My family and I stumbled on Gerti’s our first time in Peterborough and we were more than pleased. The service was so lovely! The food was exceptional! The roasted red pepper dip with the garlic bread, mushroom soup, fish tacos and clubhouse sandwich were more than what you would expect. Honestly, I look forward to returning as soon as we can. After one bite of the ginger bread cheesecake I asked for one to go. Wow! Thank you for making our trip end on a great note and something we will talk about for a long time.

Was in Peterborough for work and happened on this place when walking downtown. The place was almost full on a Wednesday night which I took to be a good sign. There was four of us in our party, including a vegan, and we all found something to our liking. The steak special I had was cooked a perfect medium rare. The staff was friendly and service was very fast. I will return if I am back in Peterborough area in the future.

So disappointed. I have eaten here many times, but the last 2 times have not been good. My chicken was not fresh again, it was dry and clearly reheated. The pasta salad on the plate tasted old and was fuzzy like it had been in the fridge for a while. But as usual the serive was great and the place is clean.
