Tucked in beside a DQ, and with McDonalds and KFC just across the road, I chose The Hungry 7 because I wanted something quick, but better quality then their neighbouring "fast food" restaurants, and I was not disappointed!! I ordered the Hungry 7 burger, and what I got far surpassed any Big Mac!! It cooked to order (not made in a factory, frozen, and shipped out like the other fast food places), the toppings tasted fresh like they came right out of the garden!!! And the mountain of fries that came with it would put ANY fast food chain out of business!! After taxes, I figure I paid about $3 more than if I had gone to either of the neighbouring locations, but that was money well spent for a great meal that filled me up from driving 8hrs, but didn't wreak havoc on my stomach for the remaining 3hr drive I had!! Highly recommend this place!!

Excellent! Pasta with shrimp and mushrooms was one of the best pastas I've ever had. Burger with bacon and cheese... yum. Shrimp etouffee was just okay, but the other two dishes made up for it. Cute diner and friendly service. Would definitely go back.

It's at first difficult to pick out this unpretentious diner snuggled among the fast food restaurants along this busy Highway 7 strip. However, a tall Hungry 7 sign soon makes it evident and we pull into a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. I feel a bit wary approaching the diner but once inside it is quite spacious and pleasant. The walls are decorated with artwork and the tables and chairs are easy to sit at. The wide entrance to the kitchen at the back of the restaurant also contributes to the openness. A tall chalkboard lists the specials and highlights other items on the menu. It's late afternoon and we share the space with only two other couples. The server gives us lots of attention and is very pleasant. We soon are eating and I enjoy a shrimp pasta with unusual two-tubed pasta and a very nice white sauce. I was delighted to be able to compare two choices from the local Perth Brewing Company (I wasn't driving!).

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever ate at! Pasta dishes and burgers are phenomenal. I would eat here everyday!! Also the customer service is great , especially from the younger blonde waitress, Aimee. She’s always on the go making sure her customers are satisfied and put first. Whoever has had a bad past experience, needs to go back and try it again. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is a gem! We live in Kingston and we make a point of stopping in when we are in transit to see family in Ottawa. This place is always busy for good reason. High end quality entrees that will not disappoint. Unless you plan on driving to Perth just to eat there and they are closed for labour day!

Hubby & I stopped for lunch on a normal summer Tuesday & the place was packed! The food is always fresh here & I understand that quite a bit is made from scratch. Today I had "The Guess Who" & hubby had the "Van Halen" burger from their Rock & Roll burger menu. Mine had guacamole & spicy kimchee, his had jerk bbq sauce, tomato & LOTS of fried onions. I would definitely have my burger again, & hubby said he'd order his again, too. Since it was crazy busy, there was a bit of a wait; there was only one waitress, but she was busting her butt to acknowledge & serve everyone, while cleaning off tables & cashing folks out.

Took my mother there who loves this restaurant. One of the only places with good freshly made food near our cottage. Food was amazing as usual but wow grumpy service. Just not helpful and very negative attitude. I've been a server and I know what it can be like sometimes but clients are still clients and you are the face to that business. Was very disappointing.

I quite enjoyed the special. I had a pork sandwich with cheese, tomato, lettuce and dijon. The bun was supposed to be ciabatta, but a tad soft. Still really good. The pork was cooked well, but had a minor used oil taste to it. With the combo, I got a soup Wich was a potato leek and back soup. Overall, I would go back, as the little nitpicks are minor minor.

First tried Hungry 7 after it was open for a few weeks, wasn't too impressed but went back last week and what a change! We had the chicken pot pie and the hot chicken sandwich...I am sure that nearly a whole chicken was in both items. Everything was nice and hot and the fries and salad were excellent..Will definitely go back!

AMAZING! I was apprehensive about going in and actually tried going to another place first and left. We came here instead due to the reviews. It's a GEM. The food was fresh, home cooked, from scratch and absolutely delicious. I couldn't believe it. Even my daughter's chicken strips were real chicken covered with a wonderful panko type bread crumbs with beautiful crisp texture. My husband and son had the Jerk chicken sandwich, also wonderfully seasoned with rustic bread. I had the Meatloaf; it was incredibly tender, with fresh mushroom gravy and a beautiful assortment of fresh veggies cut julienne. The portions were incredible and the price is fantastic. I can't recommend this place enough. I wish we had this in my hometown.

Recommended by family so met them there. Food home cooking style very delicious lots of it server friendly and attentive but poor lady was only one on duty besides kitchen staff so was run off her feet felt bad for her. She did an amazing job keeping up with every patron in restaurant.

From the exterior to the setup inside, the Hungry 7 definitely has the feel of a diner. Where it differs is in the kitchen and the menu. Sure you will find some diner specialties (e.g. burgers) but there are lots of other tasty items available. They have a core staple menu, with a variety of specials that change with availability of products throughout the year. The wait staff are nice and we have found the chef very flexible with dietary requirements. One thing to watch out for, they do not have a lot of parking spaces and if they are filled, the restaurant is usually also very busy. I recommend eating at off-peak times of the day.

I'm from Toronto, I came to Perth for a random stop and I pulled up google maps and bumped into The Hungry 7, we ordered their signature burger, the beautiful lady working at the front kept telling me "this will be the best burger you ever had" I laughed and said "If it is I'll give you a review on google maps and I will drive 3hrs from Toronto just to eat this" and well I had to keep me word this is probably the best burger I have ever had, I have ate at quite a few burger joints and here is my review and I will be visiting again shortly, thank you for taking such passion into your work, your food is amazing. I highly recommend you guys open another eatery in Toronto it will definitely be on the list for top burger eatery! See you soon!

This little place doesn’t look like much from the outside here in the little town of Perth, but MAN can the chef cook! The food is not your standard fair. It’s creative, delicious, and well priced. The owners are friendly, courteous, and so efficient. Really lovely place. My husband and I love having lunch here when we’re in Perth. Take the time to drop in and have a meal when you’re in Perth Ontario, you won’t regret it. The soup is my favourite, homemade, and delicious!

We went here because the reviews were pretty good and I don't understand why! We had 6 in our group, 2 had burgers, one had hot hamburger, one had meatloaf, one had potato leek soup, and one had the chicken pot pie. The burgers were ok, small patties but decent. Hot hamburger and potato leek soup were terrible and they couldn't eat more than a few bites. Meatloaf was not great but person eating it powered through because they were very hungry. Chicken pot pie was ok but the person found a small chicken bone in the pie. Were all the other reviews from friends or family?? Or were we there on a very off night?? Many other restaurants or pubs in Perth that would be a better, safer choice!

If you're driving through Perth, don't stop at Wendy's or MacDs. The Hungry 7 is a locally owned gem of a diner. Real food, fresh cut fries, gluten free bun option. Our burgers with fries and coleslaw were $15 each plus tax. Sure, it's more than the fast food competition, but the food is just better and the staff is friendly. Hungry on 7? Go to the hungry 7.

Well, this was a very pleasant surprise. Needed to stop for dinner in Perth, while on the road. Spotted this restaurant purely by chance. An excellent selection of items and, by my discernment, all home-made. My wife had the perogies and I the chicken pot pie. Both were very good and my side salad was a nice mix of greens with a light vinaigrette. Wine and beer also available. Only downside is no espresso coffee. This unassuming restaurant is well worth a stop if one is not in a major rush to get somewhere.

I was a hungry 1 when I arrived and a happy 1 when I left. I had a grilled chicken burger with fries and coleslaw. Burger was moist, flavorful, fried were well seasoned and coleslaw was the best I have ever had.

Stopped here for dinner on the drive from Toronto to Ottawa based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed. Arrived at 8:30pm and the diner was still pretty full, despite a 9pm close time. Fast friendly service for us and the other people who had just walked in. The regular menu has plenty of choice with great salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, steak and fries and more. They also have an extensive daily specials menu. We tried the goat cheese salad and the daily special burger. Both were delicious. Fries seemed to be hand cut and were perfectly crispy and salted. Plentiful and the best fries I think I've ever had. Burger was perfectly flavoured and tender. The salad was also spectacular. The piece of cherry pie being enjoyed one table over was huge and they looked like they enjoyed every last crumb. Prices were very fair. The only downside is that they're closed on Sunday night when people will head home from a weekend away!

UPDATE (ORIGINAL BELOW): Demoted a star because the pot pie was still delicious but we both got sick after visiting here. I had specifically mentioned the fact that there were wilted and even spoiled greens in the salads with our meals to the waitress (I left most of my salad on my plate for transparency sake), who assured me she would tell the chef. Unfortunately we received no apology or discount from the chef, which felt fine at the time but seemed discourteous the next day after we were both extremely sick (considering we don't live together and both ordered the same dish on the same night, we can confirm that the food was the source of the illness). I also witnessed the waitress dump the salads out without mentioning anything to the chef, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she didn't later. Part of the excitement included witnessing the chef knock his pots off a shelf into his frying pan with lasagna, making a huge mess and causing him to yell in frustration. Now in the food industry, I can understand that one incident does not reflect a business entirely, but I can also say that I will not likely be returning for this experience any time soon. To those dining here, I hope you enjoy a good meal because (if you can stomach it) the menu is complimentary. ORIGINAL: The food was absolutely delicious and the environment was very pleasant. The walls were covered in oldies music memorabilia which was pumping through the sound system as well. We had the garlic bread with marinara sauce and goat cheese crostini with fig jam for appetizers. These dishes came nicely for sharing, and the crostini was especially mouthwatering, even making me long for seconds. Even though we called ahead inquiring about vegetarian options and were assured there were plenty, there were only two vegetarian entrees on the menu. We both chose the pot pie with side salad; I asked if I could upcharge the salad to a specialty salad and was told no. The pot pie was very good, with more variety in the vegetable medley than a typical pot pie and a nice flaky crust. I was impressed with the food over all, however we definitely felt second to the take out diners who were constantly coming in and leaving with large orders. We even adressed the wait time for our entrees to the waitress and didn't receive much explanation despite the fact we could tell the take out customers were the priority. I am already thinking about when I can get my hands on that goat cheese crostini again, but maybe I'll order it to go.

Fantastic find! I don't often eat diner food - but when I do, I go for the standard, traditional fare. The hot hamburger sammie was so delicious. The meat was fork tender, the gravy was plentiful and the fried onions were a fantastic treat. And the shoestring fries tasted so fresh! Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely go back to try other menu items.

Travelling Highway 7 looking for a place to eat. Finally found this place. Stopped to give it a try. Am I ever glad I did. It has great menu. A little something for everyone. I had the Hungry 7 burger. It was excellent. Very fresh and made with care. The service was top notch too.

Went to the Hungry 7 with family for dinner and we were greeted immediately by Kelly who was also our waitress . She was very welcoming and smiled the whole time . Their was 5 of us and we all ordered something different and when we got our meals all the food was hot and delicious and the portion size was great . My mother who is visiting from Newfoundland said it was warm, inviting, friendly and totally satisfied with the whole experience .I would totally recommend this restaurant to all .Thank -you for the great service and food.

Food was VERY tasty and was clearly freshly prepared and served to order by the chef who was visible and busy in the kitchen. We were served quickly and efficiently. Prices were a little higher than one might expect for a diner however the quality of the food was good.

Awesome! Started with Baked Shrimp which was cooked to perfection with nicey dicey veggies. Then an amazing Burger, the Hungry 7 special. Absolute freshness, best cheese, succulent Bacon and juciy meat. The day's special Chicken Pasta which felt like melting in our mouth and richly flavouful. The fries here are unique, they are slim cut, rightly fried to crispiness, surprisingly had the least oily texture, which felt great to hold and eat. The coffee is brilliant too. Definitely, I'd repeat manytimes. Many thanks to dear and respected stewardess Ms.Sara, and Chefs Mr.Dave & Ms.Angela for their great service.

We stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch. Due to Covid-19 measures it does appear pretty sparse inside, however....don't let that chase you away! We were pleasantly surprised by having one of the best lunches ever, served to us by the lovely waitress. A new go to spot for us in Perth. Worth the drive from Carleton Place!

I wouldn't eat here if food allergy. They accidentally added cheese to my burger. I Sent it back due to allergy. The cook actually picked it off and I was reserved it. Cheese was still on my gluten free bun...I sent it back again.. waitress assured me it's good. Guess what. Isn't. I have stomach pains now/other. Thanks hungry 7

The food here is pretty reliably tasty. However their preferential treatment when it comes to substitutions is nothing short of childish. I know they make changes for certain people at certain times. But when you don't eat red meat, and don't want bacon on your chicken burger and the waitress says with a forced smile "we can't make ANY changes" the owner either needs to change the decor or grow up. The wait staff was awesome and clearly between a rock and an immature place.

This place was a surprise as I would have never guessed such a gem was located behind what initially looked like a regular old diner. I had a delicious burger and fries. The burger had peameal bacon and the fries had an authentic chip wagon flavor, but we're thin and not greasy - perfect really! My girlfriend had the 7 Salad and raved about the grilled chicken. Lunch for 3 with tip cost about $47.

This is NOT a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. The chef/owner(?) was extremely rude when I inquired if they have a veggie burger ("What's that?", "I don't believe in food that imitates other food"). I had deliberately decided to avoid the chain restaurants on this stretch in Perth to give an independent business a try; this was a mistake.

My wife and I went for supper Feb 15th and the waitress Kel really messed up. She didn't write our order down and when she went back to the kitchen she'd forgotten our 1 appetizer that we just ordered. Then when our meal was brought to the table and we agreed to ketchup and parmesan she forgot to bring it to us. We had to remind her several minutes later after we had started to eat. My wife ordered a hamburger and I ordered their Sweetheart entree which she messed up placing with the kitchen. I got the Bella instead of the Sweetheart entree. We were never offered any dessert and no discount for the messed up meal. A restaurant is only as good as the service which tonight was bad. The place wasn't that busy like other times. To the credit of the chef, the food is good but service needs to be a lot better.

Very good Covid-19 proticols in place. Delightful dinner special of jerk chicken on a ciabatta, hubby had the Canadian burger off the menu with fries and coleslaw, very good. Dessert chocolate cake and a whisky sauce decadent. Great dinner to cap off playing golf at local club.

Totally unassuming from the outside, small dining area with seating for 30. The food was simply AMAZING, I had the hot chicken sandwich and my wife a burger, we loved everything! The mains we're good, the fries exceptional and then the desserts topped off a perfect meal. If you are ever passing through Perth around lunch or supper time I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be stopping in our next time through.

We were a little skeptical at first due to the the appearance of this place on the outside but decided we'd give it a try anyways and we weren't disappointed. Although the menu may not have alot of selection they do have a list of specials that aren't on their menu. We also liked the fact that they have an open kitchen so we can actually see a them cooking our food. I had the grilled chicken burger with fries it was very good. My partner had the jerk chicken and he liked it alot and their prices are resonable too. We'll definitely be going there again when were in Perth.

From the outside, this place looks like a truck stop or basic greasy spoon. The inside however is clean, and quaintly decorated. I was skeptical at the length of their specials list but ordered the jerk chicken sandwich anyway and I was not disappointed! The menu here and the quality of food would be at home in any downtown bistro. Note to self: come back for that amazing looking cheeseburger.

This was deceiving, it looks like a dive bar on the outside but wow I was so impressed the food was fantastic and the service was great. I suggest the chicken pot pie it was amazing and not something I would normally order but it was recommended to me and I think I was in heaven.

I don’t like diners but the reviews were good and I wanted to try something new. THIS WAS EXCELLENT! We will come back soon. My salad with roasted peppers, garbanzo beans, goat cheese and chicken was terrific. Her mushroom soup was full of huge mushrooms, more than you ever see. So savory we all attacked it. Even his burger with pea meal bacon was excellent. Just a delightful place to stop in!

From London, Ontario and I was delivering a car I sold to Carlton Place so I stopped in for take out. Wow! Excellent customer service great menu, propmt service and the food was bomb. I had a NY steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. So good. I am a foodie and eat out all over Ontario. I have never been to a restaurant that actually uses nutmeg in the mashed potatoes, which is the same thing that I do at home so yummy. If I'm ever in the neighborhood I will certainly return. Food is very cheap for the quality of food.

That should tell you that this a an option based on experience...

Arrived with my daughter for a nice dinner out. The only table that was available was right in front of the door I literally ate dinner with my winter coat on due to the draft people coming in and out my daughter was freezing the entire time the establishment was obviously filled with local people as the waitress appeared to know all of them by chit-chat ting. There is nothing wrong with this however the establishment is very small with perhaps ten tables therefore I notice customers being turned away when they came in and wanted to dine in the establishment. The french fries are very good the chicken burger was good as well the price is average I would say so the only downfall is the actual establishment itself being very small and myself not enjoying the dinner as I was freezing near the door as all the other local individuals we're seated near the fireplace as well there was a table for eight with a reserved sign however my daughter and I were there for over an hour and we're not offered to be moved away from the door nor did the people that had the reserve sign placed on the table show up to dine
