This is a must-try restaurant. The chef makes some quite original dishes. Everything is fresh, the sandwiches are made in-house and the service is excellent, even though it may be a tad shower than others. But your patience is rewarded with food that's prepared fresh and is simply delicious. If you're anywhere near Perth, you should definitely visit this wonderful restaurant.

An incredible experience from the amazing customer service to exceptional food. I had the Asian steak sandwich with the soup of the day (including homemade bread for dipping) absolutely delightful. Finished it all off with perhaps my new favourite dessert, chocolate croissant bread pudding! The croissants are made in house! Decadent and delicious. Very excited to try their dinner with wine parings! Thank you Kerri!

Our visit to Perth started with us visiting the newly opened Gather. The restaurant has wonderful staff that are friendly, cheerful and very personable. I had the smoked beet (open faced) with the soup. The goat cheese used was very obviously of great quality. It's consistency was so creamy, it tasted more like double cream. It was absolutely heavenly. I can't tell you how happy I was that I chose the soup as opposed to the salad. The soup for today was not something I had ever tried. It was a dill pickle soup. If you are ever lucky enough to be there when that's the soup of the day, DO NOT HESITATE!!! It is creamy and full of flavour. I was so completely blown away by it and I let my server know how much I thought of it and that I would love the recipe. She gave me some of the info but said that it wasn't from a recipe more so it was from the chef's head. Imagine our surprise when the chef, owner James Gallant, came out to talk to me about the soup. He was so gracious and sweet to us and gave me more info with regards to the soup. Both my friend and I felt the food here was top notch. You can totally tell how much time and effort they have put into putting together a menu that offers wholesome, healthy and scrumptious food. Good luck to the owners. I have no doubt that you will have lots of people visiting your restaurant. We will be back, for sure.

Refined and flavourful food selections that leave you craving more. Every detail of their offerings are thoughtful and done with intention - from the tasty creativity of their soup of the day to the maple confit butter with your accompanying artisanal bread, they take the time to make the whole experience memorable. Highly recommended for your lunch stop in Perth either on their Gore Street patio or, when allowed, in their newly renovated space. Excellent, friendly service and a great venue that you need to visit when you come to town.

This was one of the most incredible culinary experiences I've had in a long time. From walking in the door, the owner made us feel like long time friends. I had the ruebenish with a Caesar salad and the sandwich was unlike anything I've ever experienced. The details in the restaurant, from the open concept kitchen to the tasteful music made for an incredible "gathering". Will definitely return anytime I'm visiting friends in Perth!

Lovely restraunt that has an eclectic but stunning decor. The food is good, we had two different soaps and a side salad / smoked Salmon dish. The staff was lovely, would recommend a stop in.

I so enjoyed my meal yesterday at "gather"! The service was friendly and welcoming. The curried chicken salad sandwich on homemade whole wheat cardamom bread was so fresh-tasting and delicious, as was the house soup of root vegetables and garlic. What a gem in beautiful downtown Perth! James and his wife are the most excellent hosts and he actually met us at the door and spent some time talking about their move to Perth. Food is amazingly fresh and made in house. We had the bahn mi sandwich and soup of the day. Also some great beers from Perth Brewing. Our server April was fantastic. Can't wait to come back and highly recommend! Thanks so much guys!

I enjoyed my first visit to this newly opened restaurant in Perth so much I decided to return to find out if I would feel the same the second time around. Actually, that's just an excuse to go again! I took two friends and we were warmly welcomed by James. They particularly liked the space between tables which not only allowed protection but also enabled private conversation. We had the daily special which was a BLT (oh, the bacon!) with homemade soup - this time it was sweet potato and carrot with a North African spice blend with cumin on top. Gorgeous - everything fresh and delicious with wonderful mayo on the BLT. My friend and I had orange pekoe tea and it came in the most delightful glass teapots. For dessert, I had the eggnog ice cream with a made in the morning cookie (cranberry and something) and my friend had two divine shortbreads and lots of coffee which he said was excellent. So, once again, a splendid lunch with friends in pleasant surroundings.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Gather. Very friendly, kind staff and the food was delicious. The pastrami spiced salmon was amazing. We also really loved the lemon meringue ice cream and fresh baked cookies. Hope to be back soon.

We recently spent a week at a cottage on Sharbot Lake. During an outing to Perth we happened upon 'Gather'. More than a week has gone by and I am still thinking about the wonderful, absolutely delicious lunch we had. Smoked beets on top of whipped goat cream cheese, the beets topped with sprigs of arugula graced by delicate mauve flowers. I also had the carrot & yam curried soup with a small orange nasturtium floating on the top, the leaves & stems looked like they were sketched with a whisper of oil. Almost too beautiful to eat, but! incredibly delicious. My husband had a curried chicken salad on the best bread he's ever tasted, the chicken perfectly spiced and filling. The side salad was a hearty mix of fresh greens and ‘spoon’ tomatoes that burst with flavour. The service was awesome. This was the very best lunch experience we’ve had in years.

I visited Gather for the first time this weekend, for lunch with my Mom. The food was top notch, excellent, unique, yummy, and scrumptious! Our server was also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this spot for the food, service, and comfortable atmosphere. I’m hoping to be able to visit again soon. Well done!

We stopped at Gather on our way through Perth going from Kingston to Ottawa. We were expecting a simple healthy meal. We got a gourmet treat that astounded us with its flavour, presentation, quality and creativity. We could not imagine how they kept their prices so low. Chef/owner James told us that they buy from local organic farmers and minimize waste. That was music to our ears. We will go back for sure and probably make a point of driving through Perth on our way to Kingston just so we can eat at Gather.

The open-faced smoked salmon sandwich and the cabbage apple curry soup were both incredible. Service was also excellent and the place has the cute old-fashioned vibe of a Victorian tea room. The perfect spot for a light lunch!
