A wonderful restaurant and a great location. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent.
Good food nice view of the lake
Super yummy chicken parmesan, with very tasty penne pasta. The two servers were very friendly as well. The place is beautiful. I definitely recommend this place.
Excellent food. We got to sit out on the front deck outside. Beautiful day. Waitresses were great. For sure...going back
My wife and I dined here yesterday afternoon for a late lunch. We sat on the deck overlooking the water. Menu was a little light in my opinion in terms of selection. The burger I had was very tasty but was small compared to its bun. Could have been classified a slider instead of a full burger. We will definitely go again.
Hospitality is garbage considering you are a highly sought after restaurant in a cottage town on the water with a huge patio. My 8.5 month pregnant wife and I just stood in line for 50mins to get second in line, only to be told “short staffed, so we have to allow the kitchen to catch up before seating anyone else” mind you this is one of the hottest days of the whole summer. Even offering the line outside a glass of water would have been a nice gesture. Really really let down by this place. We walked across the street to turtle jacks and they’re busy and flowing nicely sat us right away and brought us water ASAP and we look across have our food at our table and the people behind us are still waiting in line at the tailwinds.
Enjoyed an outstanding meal this sunny evening. Pickerel with rice was top notch and perfectly spiced. Scrumptious tomatoes in the rice with mushrooms. The dessert was outrageously delicious. Great service with a fabulous patio. Wow!
Good food, and service, but don't find a hair in your food because the chef will say it was a piece of a napkin, I was not impressed with the place, they didn't even offer a discount or really even apologize.
French onion soup was very good! Fish and chips not bad. Service slow and inattentive.
Great atmosphere, service, and the brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious.
Visited a few days ago as we were passing through the area. Cant really complain about anything. Service was excellent, staff friendly and the food was beyond reproach. Patio was amazing !! Would have been 5 star had the weather not been so hot...lol !!
This place has the worst service i have had in a long time. On a Sunday evening in the summer and I have been standing in line waiting for a table as the line continues to grow and no one has come to acknowledge the customers. The restaurant is not full at all...maybe 6 tables are being used and finally a waitress comes out and tells us that the kitchen just got very busy and it is going to be another 10 to 15 minutes until we can be seated...despite the fact that no one has entered the restaurant. I wonder if the owner/operator would be very happy ro know that due to the extensive wait at leat 3 different parties left to get eat elsewhere. I would be furious to know that during peak season I was losing business. Just saying.
It's a place with a great view of the marina, Georgian Bay and the Island queen, however I was a little disappointed with the French Onion soup...there's no pasta dish in the menu. The fish and appetizers were great and the staff is friendly.
This place has a great view and good customer service. But the food was average. Salmon tasted very good, but the calamari was an awful experience, we had to return the whole thing. The wine and beer menu is extremely limited. No bottle service available and only two kinds of beer from Trestle.
Great wait staff, delicious food with a nice view on the bay.
Nice patio…and good burgers, but definitely over priced. 2 stars because their service and food overall were BAD. After waiting more than 20 minutes, I expected better…but their poutine and fries in general were dry/burnt. Barely any cheese and gravy. Seriously awful. Their chicken fingers looked like a Walmart frozen box and they charged $17 for 4 small chicken fingers. I also asked for a fork and never got one. Overall, the patio and view was the only thing that was nice. Food was bad.
Initial service was fast and a little pushy about making a decision on our order and then pretty slow on food delivery. Not licenced for alcohol (yet) and never brought the water that we asked for. They then tack on FORCED 18% TIP, and still ask if you would like to add aother tip on the debit machine as a percentage of the whole bill calculated including the forced 18% tip. Hopefully these "kinks will be ironed out as the place settles in. Fries were tasty. Burger was of reasonable size and price, but not particularly special and a little dry. Pickrel on a bun was quite taste but pretty small. The plates had a reasonable serving of fries, but the baskets were a little empty looking. I think the same portions on smaller plate would have been more appealing than the large baskets that looked half empty with fries and a burger sitting in the middle. All in all it has some potential as a nice family restaurant but it's not there yet. The forced tipping is not cool, especially as it is nearing 20%. I would prefer bumped prices and higher wages and be aĺlowed to tip on my own accord. I am not a cheap tipper as I am familiar with the reduced reduced wages allowed for servers, but tipping is what holds service standards up and that is lacking here.
Food and drinks were good but pricey but its tourist season. Small piece of fish and fries for $19 Dessert was great Staff was friendly We booked a plane ride over 30000 islands which was the highlight of the night
Great spot for a bite and a pint. Menu was good and reasonably priced. Nice view of the marina
Food was fantastic. Scenery unreal! Service top notch.
Great location & atmosphere with view of the bay, highly recommend the Fish & Chips with a pint of Trestle! Service was excellent with great attention to hygiene .
Fish and chips and cheeseburger were all great and the veiw was magnificent. Staffs are amazingly friendly and polite. I would bring anyone here any time. Everyone was following safety precautions and it feels very safe eating here
I will have to be terribly honest. This place left me slightly dissapointed. When people talk about restaurant "location location location" is the one thing that always comes up. This restaurant is in such a beautiful portion of the harbor, boats trolling by the planes landing and taking off. A truly beautiful scenery to take in. The food is subpar to what this place can or should deliver to its customers. Me and my beautiful gf chose this place thinking it was going to blow our socks off. If anything it left is oily and dissapointed. I am not trying to knock anybody down but this place can truly be magical. It does have potential it just needs a little air under its wings.
Fantastic water view. SOUP OF THE DAY ROASTED GARLIC AND MUSHROOM...OVER THE TOP.
Nice place, very clean, nice people and the food is great ???? The patios over looking the Parry Sound harbor makes it a great experience.
Good food and a very nice atmosphere.
I called in asking if it's okay to come in for 8pm and asked if I could make a reservation. They said they don't do reservations but I should be okay to come in. I showed up around 8:05 and was told the place is closed, I saw people on the patio. I called in to ask and someone else said the place was "full". After that I saw two families walking and getting a spot. Really not sure why this was done, extremely disappointed. Will never return or recommend this place.
We were driving back to Toronto from Sudbury and stopped here for lunch. It’s a lovely place! I can imagine it being very busy in the summer. Kathleen served my friends and I and she was the best!
Loved it. Beautiful location, friendly and attentive service despite being understaffed (totally understandable given the state of most restaurants these days), and the fish & chips were to die for. Bonus was the dog friendly patio which allowed us to stop in on our way home from the cottage. :) Can't wait to go back!
Prompt and friendly service with a dockside view that can't be beat.
A lovely place to enjoy a meal overlooking the lake. It was fun to see the seaplanes taking off and landing. The food was perfect.
My only issue was how long it took to be seated. 30 mins but there was a sign saying short staffed because of covid. I do enjoy sitting outside on the water on Georgian Bay. The cruise ship, planes so lots to look at. Beer was cold and service was ok. Hubby said fish was tasty. I had a burger, nice and juicy and was not a frozen patty. Lots of garnishes and fries served hot. Will be back. Covid will have to end soon and this place would be a great place to work. Found photos of our 1st visit too, ceasar salad and wings. Also good. My sister was not thrilled with her sandwich but over it was good.
Waited over 50 minutes for our food in a half full restaurant. When it arrived my brisket tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave, the texture of old shoe and the BBQ sauce was virtually non existent. My wife's salad tasted like it had been dressed with the cheapest, nastiest Kraft dressing ever made. Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had.
Great view from the patio. Small selection for food but the calamari was quite nice
The restaurant just opened so the menu was limited. Had the shrimp over rice and it was very good. They still do not have a liquor license. Staff was very friendly.
Great food- can get busy during the summer season
Went for lunch on June 26th Service was extremely slow and they were not friendly at all, they all looked miserable to be there, it took forever to get food and even longer the get the bill, staff not overly friendly, food was just ok, pricey. Such a disappointing experience, for a beautiful spot. Suggestion is to get staff that smile and are friendly to give people a good experience. Until they change I would not recommend
It's ok, as it seems they are fairly new establishment for serving food, and it shows. Too many staff running around on the outdoor terrace, and confusing on who is serving what table. Food also felt a tad overpriced, versus what you get at the Bay Street Cafe.
Four for lunch. We all had beef brisket on a bun. Three had sweet potato fries, I had fresh cut fries. All said the best. One had French onion soup and raved.
Service is amazing, the food is fantastic. Had the crab chowder, it was a perfect spiciness as well as the pickerel sandwich. The food overall was amazing and you also can't beat the view.
Delicious food. Fast service. Amazing views. Staying in Parry Sound over night and group stopped here for dinner. Excellent decision. The craft beer is from a nearby brewer. The food was fresh and though options were limited, all items looked tasty. The view is spectacular.
Amazing view, good food (difficult for gluten free or "healthy" eating, as there are lots of sandwiches/buns/breading involved), but the fresh pickerel was fantastic, great location with indoor casual seating and a beautiful patio
Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys eating fresh food when they go out. It is my understanding that each and every item on the menu is made from scratch aside from bread. I had excellent and tentative servers, and getting to eat on the lake made the experience all the more relaxing.
Expected the food to be a little better. Nothing terrible but a nice spot like that walking in I had expected a little better quality than quick-style pub food. Server was okay.
Found the menu greatly overpriced for the volume of food. Our waiter was a young chap that was a bit arrogant and bossy. At $9 for a beer you are forced to select from a local beer that you can buy around the corner for much cheaper. Was not too busy when we were there during the week.
Fantastic food all around, great staff and first class atmosphere and location.
Really cozy atmosphere with great food and fun staff! Will definitely go out of the way to eat there when I pass through the area again.
Food was great, would love to give them 5 stars. But, for a place that’s clearly geared for tourists they treated us quite horribly because we were dressed quite nicely and presumably from out of town. Even with covid ongoing you probably shouldnt be treating customers like they’re leper’s ????♀️
Good food. Limited menu.
Great food and atmosphere - beautiful view and friendly staff - would love to return
If you want a nice location to have a meal then this is the place for you. Located in the Georgian bay Airline building it has a good view of the harbour. Good selection for lunch which we had (fish & chips), however it is not the cheapest place to eat. You can book a flight while you are there or just wander the docks in the harbour. I did find that their fries were better than average and the fish was quite ample. THey were under construction so I was not able to take proper photos.
Just finished renovating and were out of a lot of entres ingredients
Expensive, absolutely awful salad and NO childrens portions. .....!! Basic Fish & chips with thick batter.
I gave this restaurant 4 stars only because there is often a lineup to get in. The outdoor patio part could use a few more umbrellas. The food though is really good. Their soup of the day is a favourite. Portions are plentiful and nicely presented. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. It’s on the water at Parry Sound Harbour. The float planes land and take off right there. People watching is fun. I would definitely recommend dining there this summer.
Call ahead...we arrived by boat at 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon and were turned away - the restaurant was only 1/3 full but we were told the kitchen was 45-60 minutes behind and they weren’t seating anyone so that the kitchen could “catch up”. Guess they need fewer tables or more kitchen staff.
Great location but the food is ok. Had the cheese bacon burger and fries. It was dry and tasteless, not fresh and the fries were soggy. They need to bump it up a few notches with the food quality and not rely on the location. I won't go there again as there are better choices close by.
Love the location and the ambiance. Very limited menu... no kids menu so it was tough getting something for them to eat. Service was good. They need to add more variety to their menu. There are a lot of burger choices. If they had a breakfast menu I believe they could do really well. We had egg salad sandwich with fries that were dried and over cooked. We tried the crab chowder- not bad. I would definitely come again if menu changed. Add more salads? Some pasta? Kids menu? Lobster Mac and cheese?
Great new restaurant, good service and tasty offerings. Splendid view of the deepest fresh water harbour in the world, Parry Sound, Georgian Bay.
Food and ice cream was wonderfull, staff were very kind and helpful. Great view of the water and the pier. Overall a wonderfull place to eat!????????????
Beautiful setting. Good food.
Best Fish and Chips ever!
Best burger ever!!!!!
Ice Cream from London Dairy was delicious. Unfortunately there were absolutely no prices posted, the girl working was miserable with no sense of customer service, and a two ice creams was over eight dollars for a single scoop! The Boathouse with Kawartha Dairy is a much better option
Drinks are good. View is great. Don’t go for the food. Thankfully they gave me a credit for the meal that wasn’t edible. Only waterfront in town so you can suck and still be rich. Too bad. They could step it up and really drive good business.
We loved the food. The menu isn’t big but everyone was able to find something. Food was made to order, was very tasty and hot (in some other places we dined food was prepared in advance and simply warmed up). Not a typical sports bar with wings/ribs/burgers but a nice place with excellent food and service.
Went there was offered a table, it had to be bused first. After being offered the table, they sat someone else at the table! Offered me a table inside instead. Left. Wont go back.
I love this amazing haddock with coleslaw, and they local beer
A very friendly and kind staff. Even though they are severely understaffed they were able to keep up with almost half of the full restaurant during the lunch time hour. Food came promptly and the portions were plenty big. Even though we got appetizers we still found ourselves quite full after only two plates.
Very aesthetic place to eat. Patio was subpar, view was excellent. The restaurant could use some improvement on their efficiency. Food came out quite quickly but it was more than a 30 minute wait to place an order. The menu online did not reflect their options they had in-restaurant. Order came out incorrectly and the server didn’t seem to prioritize our table much at all. We didn’t expect 10/10 service but our server seemed much more involved in tables who were seated well after us. Definitely won’t be returning to this location.
I had the blackened chicken on a bun. It was fantastic. It was slightly spicy. With the serving on fries it was more than enough to eat. We then split the Muksoka mud pie which was awesome and I'd highly suggest you leave room for desert. We went on a Friday night and it was packed. So then we returned earlier on the Saturday and were able to get a seat. I'd suggest showing up around 5:00.
Best hand cut fries in town.
I would love to visit in the summer, the view is really nice, staff is super friendly and the food was really food
Beef brisket sandwich and a jackfruit vegan burger... polar opposites yet both so delicious.
First let's start with the good things. The location is great. Great views from the seating deck and the prices are reasonable. It's unfortunately downhill fast from here. We waited 40 mins for our orders to be taken, which to be honest wasn't the worst thing as we were enjoying the views and the sun. Our food arrived in a timely manner. I got the fish and chips and the chips arrived out cold and my girlfriend's Mac and cheese was only warm to the touch . We were also stuck staring at our cold food for 15mins as we weren't given any cutlery. Unable to get the attention of any staff (the excuse I was given was that they were left short 2 staff members so they were spread really thin) I resorted to eating my fish with my hands. The fish was ok. Didn't seem that fresh but in fairness the menu doesn't say that it's fresh. Finally a staff member noticed me eating like a savage and my girlfriend hopelessly staring at her bowl of Mac and cheese and asked if we were ok. We first told her that we had no cutlery and she quickly ran off to get us some. She never returned. Knives and forks must be a rare commodity in this place. Our original server finally returned and went to get us cutlery. I then told her about my cold fries and my girlfriend requested to have her food heated up as it was now cold after the long wait. Our food was quickly returned but there was clearly some form of miscommunication as my original stone cold fries were returned to me with 2 new pieces of fish (I had already eaten my first 2 pieces so I don't know why they thought the fish was the issue). Instead of creating more hassle I just ate the fries and got the bill as quick as possible. A staff member apologized for the issues and listed a bunch of things that have happened but I shouldn't be the one to have to suffer the consequences of these issues.
Nice place to dine
Food was good, long wait to get in. Prices were exceptionally high
Gorgeous view, beautiful new decking, pleasant servers and thought the price was reasonable. Our only dilemma was that our knives kept falling off our plates. Never happened before ????. Please change to a usual and not wave-shaped plate!
Great view, great service, delicious food, and dog friendly. The fried chicken sandwich is to die for.
Definitely says they are open at 9:00 a.m. on Google but when I arrive there is a sign that says they are not open till 12 p.m I drove across the city to get breakfast here kind of disappointed!!
Really awesome location with good service and food, I definitely recommend it
From here I have tried the Bison burger and the fish and chips. Both taste great! A good crunch on the battered fish. The bison burger was juicy with a good portion of toppings. The fries are well seasoned with salt and pepper. Our waitress was great and friendly. The food was quick to order which made for a timely lunch.
Lovely servers, excellent breakfast, and right on the water.
Beautiful location. Had the brisket sandwich...it was terrible. No flavour and half of the meat was actually fat. The ice water was good and cold though. So there's that. Not recommended.
Under construction.
4 stars! Food was good and the servers were very nice. The wait, however, was really long. We went on a Wednesday night, and was told the wait for be seated was 40 mins. We weren't starving and it was nice out, so we waited. After 40 mins we checked back in and was told it was going to be another 20... Eventually we were seated and the server took our order pretty quickly. Drinks came out right away, but it was almost another hour for our food. And this was almost 9 pm, so it wasn't as busy as it had been. I would come back here maybe once they have found more staff.
The restaurant was beautiful and clean and the scenery was beautiful. Our waitress was charming, friendly and helpful. Hubby ordered the western sandwich. It was was huge! and very yummy. He totally enjoyed it! My salad was (to me) disappointing. It looked like a large pile of lettuce on a dinner plate with some shredded carrots. Upon further investigation, I did find 4 grape tomatoes and 6 small pieces of cucumber. I did ask them to hold the onion. I would go for the ambiance, but certainly would not order the salad, again.
Really great food, and can't beat the view!
Very nice. The restaurant was beautiful, clean and following covid rules. The patio was lovely, and when it got dark and the lights came on it was beautiful. The food was good, although I was a bit disappointed in my salad ... there was alot of lettuce and not much else. We had a lovely time.
Plain Jane burger was amazing. The gravy had no flavour. But other then that it was a good place to eat. Nice view. Get to see the planes come in and out. Check it out if your in parry sound
Poor staff with very poor public skills....
Service extremely slow. Food good, enjoyed watching float planes coming and going.
Such a waste of a beautiful patio. The cheese bread was great but we got the Greek salad and the crispy chicken sandwich. The Greek salad was as if they had boughten it right from Sobeys and jacked the price and the crispy chicken was horrible looking and tasting. The food was way to over priced and not what the menu had described, think again before going here. They need to have higher quality food. Horrible experience.
Good food, good service, great location! The vegan pulled pork was very good, couldn't tell it was not meat.
Don't order the calamari. Was there last week and the calamari was burnt. Then I ordered one portion of grilled chicken and veggies for my two kids to share (1 and 2 year old) to they brought me two portions and charged me 18 dollars each plate. The waiter no common sense. Fish and chips were good.
I had a fantastic meal here and really enjoyed the excellent view. Wait staff were friendly and the food came quickly. Would recommend to friends and family.
Great food and atmosphere. Amazing views of the bay. Good Service.
Great location horrible service. Went 50 minutes without anyone checking on our table. Waved a waitress down to ask for more drink and to check on our meals, assured meals are being worked on. 15 minutes later someone else comes out and tells us they missed sending the kitchen the order and it will be another 15 min. Can't comment on the food because I left after this.
Hmm. The view is spectacular; you can't beat Georgian Bay, the Canadian Shield, boats and float planes! But the service was really slow, and the food was just average. I would return, but only for the ambiance.
First of all I want to say the wait staff are great! The view is amazing! My chicken was pink inside......I have never experienced this anywhere ever!!! The ceasar salad croutons were all soggy, my friend couldn't even eat hers. Disappointed because I couldn't eat anything after seeing the pink chicken ???? When I saw the other reviews it makes one wonder what happened.......a year ago things were much better. Hopefully they can sort this out, to have spectacular food to match the view! The waitress removed the food from the bill, I feel for them because they are not the ones that do the cooking. Hope things get better for them!
Disappointed - we went for lunch and ordered 2 appetizers and waited about an hour before we got our food. Once it arrived the chicken strips we ordered came with no dipping sauce and the garlic bread was so greasy. All together for the 2 apps and 3 (non-alcoholic) drinks came to over $50 which is a little steep for the quality of the food. Two stars because the patio is beautiful and the fries are good. I had been here before with a less than great experience and wanted to give it a second chance. will not be giving it a third
What a lovely treat to eat breakfast here The staff greeted us with so much kindness smiles, friendly service (dog friendly too!). Our whole little family (four legged too) watched the planes fly out and the boats as we ate our breakfast visiting the waterfront A must visit for sure
Awesome staff
Turkey burger was dry heavily under seasoned and the size of a slider- a piece of cardboard has more moisture. If I wanted a block of sugar the jack fruit burger would be an excellent selection. Portion sizes are way too small for the price. Left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. One of the Worst places I’ve stumbled upon. Lack of chicken, and lack of vegetarian options. However Nicole our server was very nice.
Great food, service, atmosphere and location
Nice location, friendly service. Food is good.
Was recommended Flight Deck Grill by our hotel as we were visiting the area. Even though the menu seemed very small in selection and there was no guarantee of fresh fish, which would shrink the menu even smaller, we decided to give it a go anyways. There was a couple ahead of us and even though it was dinner time, it wasn't overly busy. From the door I could visually see at least 10 empty tables inside and on the patio. I thought it would be a quick seating. Sadly I was very, very wrong. During our wait, there was another couple that arrived and shortly after us and then a party of 5. After waiting at least 20 minutes, the hostess finally came to greet us but instead bypassed everyone else and greeted the party of 5, who didn't have a reservation. The hostess was a younger girl and very polite. Poor thing looked frazzled and genuinely stressed. After observing while waiting, it became clear that she didn't have the support of her team, or manager. The bartender stayed behind a very empty bar and had his pop. We were looking to sit on the patio and given that the couple ahead of us also wanted to sit on the patio, we asked if we could sit at the 2, 2 seater tables out on the patio. The hostess told us that we would have to wait while she bussed tables and that we couldn't be served. After conversing with the couple ahead of us, we found out that they had been waiting 15 minutes prior to our arrival and this was the first time they had been acknowledged!! Now that's patience! While talking with hubby about heading somewhere else or if we should just keep waiting it out, a waitress overheard and told us we could go elsewhere if we didn't want to wait. We were a little taken aback by the comment and I said that we had been waiting a very long time and pointed out the many empty tables both inside and out. We were then told how extremely busy they are and that we would just have to wait. Given her tone, we left. While heading to our vehicle and deciding where else to go, we bumped into another couple who we didn't know had also been waiting ahead of us, also left and were upset by the tone of the waitress. Then, the couple that was ahead of us, had also left due to the behaviour of the waitress. While conversing, we also saw the couple behind us leaving. So, we all looked across the street to the Bay Street Cafe. I honestly thought it was just a café but it isn't. Their menu was grand and glorious with a wonderful selection. Hubby and I enjoyed the prompt seating, fantastic service and delicious food! Thank you Bay Street Café!!!
Omg being in the sky and watching everything from above iw just the best, our pillot was very friendly.
Great patio. A tad windy. They didn't have a system to greet customers. No host/hostess. Sign said to fill out a covid survey and come in. I went in and a person from the airline that shares the building told me I was in the wrong place! Got a table eventually. Server was nice and prompt.
Service was really poor. I felt bad for the waitresses as they were short staffed. Other than taking our order we did no see the waitress again until she delivered our bill. Also, half the dinners ordered were served cold. I gave a 1 star as we will not be returning.
In the ten years since i have been in parry sound, i would never have thought to imagine eating at a restaurant right next to airplanes would have been thought of.. I ordered the fish and chips , was amazed to be eating on the deck beside airplanes parked and moving....I think it was a pleasant experience and glad to have it existing there. My only questions are, how long has it been there and did you have to move any buildings to get it to the location?? Keep up the Good work
Lovely place to sit and watch the planes. Delicious fries, wouldn't recommend you get the pickerel on a bun grilled style, my friend found it full of bones and was completely unseasoned. Halibut had a good flavor but I found it a bit dry. Lovely looking new place with friendly service but a bit overpriced considering I can get a cheaper meal and drinks out on the lake.
Terrific food, great atmosphere.
Great view of the harbour ....nice renos and decent fish and chips. However service was dismal...great patio that seemed to confuse the staff...two of the best tables that had umbrellas taken up by mom and dad...the 2nd by their kids .... so anyone that came in the door had to wait ...were turned away or left disappointed. One lady and her disabled mother made to wait in the sun while the three 10 year olds played on their cell phones and could have easily sat with mom and dad. We were told no fresh seafood on the menu today....waitress seemed annoyed when I asked for clarification. Caeser salad was tasteless and had virtually no dressing ...cost 15 dollars and bacon was an upsell. Lots of potential here...team Toronto will catch on soon that a Parry Sound restaurant charging TO prices that doesnt deliver wont last long.
Great view, excellent service and delicious food. Nice menu and variety.
Great food, great service and awesome view. Highly recommend this place in Parry Sound.
Currently been sitting here waiting for a server for 25 minutes. Asked the bartender if a server was coming to our table and was told she was quite busy without mention of server. Told myself I wouldnt post review if they came before I finished writing this. Still no server so leaving after 30 minutes. Side note, it is 40° in here.
Great service!
Great food and service.
Excellent fish, burgers, lobster. Fast service...very friendly
Good service, good food and great view
I have eaten here several times, including opening day, I have had the fish and chips twice, and the blackened chicken sandwich, both were delicious, and more then I could finish, heaps and heaps of fries, with the skin, just the way I like them. My wife has had the fish and chips and the banquet burger, it looked so good! The last time we went, we just split the 2 piece fish and chips and that was just the right amount of food for us, as we are not big eaters. The food does that a little while to come out, but I'm oaky with that, gives me time to enjoy my pint of beer and watch the planes come and go, and I know that my food is being prepared fresh for me. They have Trestle on tap, both the IPA and the Golden Ale, I've tried both, the price a buck more then other places, but it is a 20oz pint, and not a 16oz like I've had at other local restaurants. They also had $6 cans of coors, canadian etc. wine, and mixed drinks, I was eyeing a caesar that I saw go by that looked really good, maybe next time. I read a review below about a forced tip, so I looked for that on my last visit, and when I didn't see a forced tip, I asked about it, apparently its only for large groups like over 12 ppl, which is pretty standard practice I think. For us, it is the location that we are there in enjoy, we loved watching the planes, trains and boats go by, best place in Parry Sound for that by far. we will be back as long as the warm weather keeps up.
The view is amazing! The interior is nice. The menu is lacking. There seems to be an overall lack of cohesion or direction. Hopefully that resolves when they open year round.
When shopping in Parry Sound, make sure to stop in at Tailwinds to be verbally abused by the staff.
We almost never came here due to poor reviews. But a dog friendly patio on a marina sounded lovely. We'd put up with the food. Wrong! Food was excellent, plentiful, and service was attentive. Not a bad word to say. Thanks for having us!
Had a great lunch today. Calamari was awesome as was the rest of our meal. Service was great. Covid protocols were in place. Dog friendly. We were able to take our dog on the patio in a designated place. Great job Tailwinds. Thank you.
Beautiful scenery of boats and seaplane arriving for lunch. Unfortunately, our food service was over 1 hour before arriving. We ordered 4 dinners of fish and 1 beef brisket. I am sure the patio was less than half full. No discount offered by server.
Nice new restaurant. Good service. I tried the lobster cheese toast, not for me. $15.95 , so overpriced , small portion, not tasty . Husband had the plain jane hamburger , he said it was very good. I would go again, try a differnt menu option.
Food was meh, but the spot on the water was really nice
Had an amazing Beef Brisket sandwich with cheese, very savoury and juicy, side Greek salad was delicious too, mouth watering flavour. We sat inside and table were physically distant (more than 2 metres apart) servers all wearing masks too.
Staff seem untrained to handle customers in a timely fashion and with confidence. Won't be going back.
We went here on a double date night with some friends last summer. The service was as fast as it could be due to the almost full restaurant. The food was expensive but good. I didn’t like that I was charged extra to have bacon on my Cesar salad (I thought it came with it) and they put the bacon on my husbands burger. Our drinks were over $7.00 and all we had was pop and no free refills (so we paid for 3). Our wait staff was pleasant and was apologetic when we mentioned the bacon mishap. The place is beautiful and the food was decent but the prices aren’t reasonable for the amount of food. Our bill was over $50.00 for 2 of us (not complaining) but my husband was still hungry when we left and had to have something else when we got home. I don’t know if we will return.
Best view in town! Food was good and Service was friendly and fast. Prices are reasonable for the food offered.
Only 1 vegan option other than salads and they ran out. No substitutions, no alternative offers. Ended up getting the greens salad which was good, but the experience was disappointing.
We had the mac and cheese along with the fish and chips. They were both really good! The patio view by the water was great.
Great atmosphere, nice location on the bay. The pickerel was delicious!
Fantastic service, food was fresh and fast, the view can't be beat. Absolutely would return.
Great location, good food, doing their best dealing with pandemic times and serious lack of staff.
Could not make reservations. Food was okay. Server was friendly!
Beautiful place to stop. We only had a beer and fish-n-chips but all the food looked good.
Great food, great service and wonderful views
Great service, great home made soup!
Great food. Great people
Great food and service, the wait for our meal was lengthy but worth it.
Great food and atmosphere. Local beer on tap :)
Beautiful newly renovated restaurant right on the waters of Georgian Bay. Very large wrap around patio for outdoor dining, large bar with barstool chairs, large indoor dining room with picture window views of the lake. Food is fantastic, always fresh, never frozen. Very fun & friendly staff. Nice place to relax and unwind with friends & family. But be warned, it is in high demand during cottage season, so could be a wait at the door depending how busy. Totally worth it though ????????????
Very disappointed....We have visited the restaurant in Rama several times and always had a superb meal and service. Parry Sound facility was definitely a let down....highlights are the location and views....thats where Tailwinds fall off the rails. The staff seemed inexperienced and certainly need some lessons in customer service ( not a very pleasant crew). The menu choices are very limited and there are no options for kids ....none !!! Brisket sandwich was awful....dried out and fatty. Burgers are mediocre at best. Their signature Garlic bread wasn't even an option.... Wellingtons is a much better option....or even Boston Pizza. I predict future failure......
