A friend of ours recommended that we go to this restaurant for dinner. He also recommended that we order the wild boar. It is a very pretty restaurant, in a house setting, with outdoor patio seating. Our server was professional and attentive. The menu is extensive with a lot of interesting options. Prices are fair to the quality of the food. We ordered the Frito Misto and it was perfectly prepared: lightly batter, crispy, juicy and tasty. The arugula and fig salad was delicious and such a good combination of flavors. The eggplant Parmesan appetizer was so good: crispy yet juicy, and not greasy. The tomato sauce that came with it was different: fresh and crunchy. However the pièce de rèsistance was the wild boar: so tender and juicy, with a mild gamey flavor that came together with the light sweetness of the poached pear and of all the other ingredients that completed the supreme flavor. For dessert we ordered Panna Cotta: so well made and beautifully decorated. It is honestly one of the best meals from beginning to end that we have had in a long time. Can’t wait to eat here again!!!!! SIDENOTE: the only thing that could improve is the bread.
This is one of the best restaurants. Excellent food and service! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality experience.
My wife and I along with my daughter and two children stopped in on a rainy afternoon. The restaurant is so lovely and well appointed from the white linen table cloth and comfortable leather dining chairs to the art work on the walls. …
We have not only thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food at Di Salvo's but their community mindset as well! They have been supporting Harvest Share and many other community organizations since opening last year. Jane and Carlo are always a …
Really a good restaurant, you want a great night with a Ihigh end service or just get out to have a snack this restaurant offer both. I went in the snack side and it was really good. Big portion for the price.
We ordered take out via their food truck and it was fantastic. The family size fettucini was absolutely amazing and it was large enough to feed a small army so bring your appetite. …
First time here, the antipasto pan seared scallops was great, we ordered the risotto- bad choice the rice clumpy and overcooked with way too much sweet tasting dish. Service was great, pricing a little high for the dishes served, ambiance is casual music could be Italian and not elevator boring music. Overall not bad but not a 5 star.
I consider myself lucky any time I'm able to stop in for a taste of Chef Carlo Di Salvo's cooking! What an amazing dining experience!
Excellent meals, huge menu (see photos), fantastic, friendly and attentive service, couldn't be beat, my meal of Jaeger Schnitzel was very savoury and tasty. Meal was served promptly. Bottomless Decaf Coffee was excellent. My dinner was inexpensive at $22 including non alcoholic drink, coffees and meal. My only regrets were that my meal was not hot, and elevator music was annoying. Nevertheless I was suitably impressed and I will be back, with friends. I was impressed with the fine dining menu too. Well done Di Salvo's.
Enjoyable service, atmosphere, and food. We sat on the porch. I ordered the salmon and it was excellent! Thanks :)
We had a great experience and excellent service . Dinner was awesome , except risotto was a bit salty,,, overall nice date night out in parry sound
They make the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. The beet salad was delicious and the Italian banana split was to die for. Overall, it was the best meal out that I've ever had. If I could give more stars, I absolutely would have. Large portions also...like I had lasagna dinner the following night kind of large...and it was still fantastically good! Staff was super nice and attentive too. You won't regret dining here!!
I’ve read reviews of all Parry Sound restaurants and this one seemed to be the best. Prices looked higher than average but given good reviews and nicely looking Italian food, we have decided to stay here for a diner. Unfortunately the food which cost 180$ (family with 3 kids) was far below expectations. -too much tomato sauce, waaay to much -meatballs were ordinary -Caesar salad ordinary -Special beetroot salad - good, but such a small portion for 14$ :( Waiting time. We spent 2 hours in total. Even though we didn’t order anything special. And by the way, neighbor table waited 15+ minutes just to pay check. They didn’t bring water until they brought main dish (even after the salads). On a positive note: -desserts were delicious: tiramisu and chocolate soufflé (but waited 20+ minutes for both, though they promise to bring tiramisu right away, they didn’t) Overall - it’s not worth it. We’ve been to better Italian restaurants in Canada
Had my son's birthday party there in Thanksgiving Day weekend. Excellent service and menu full of deliciouse selections, perfect presentation and jumbo dishes, best value and a great night.
Great dinning experience with my husband! Carlo and Jane are absolutely wonderful and heart warming. The food is delicious. Service is on point!
The food here is amazing, and they are always willing to make substitutions to accommodate different diets. I am a vegetarian and I’ve always been able to take meat off of a dish. The service is good, but could use a little bit more training for smaller things. The best dish there is definitely either the arancini or the gnocchi. This restaurant was well needed in town and I will definitely keep stopping in!
Lots of potential for this place but too much is missing the mark for 4 stars, especially for fine dining. Might be a better experience for their family style dining. Caprese salad at $14 consists of a few very thin tomato slices, a couple of small pieces of cheese and lots of balsamic vinegar. Beet salad is interesting but again, paper thin slices of beets and underwhelming at $14. Bread was delicious but no offer for refill. Gnocchi was good. Excellent wine list. Breaded, deep fried pickerel ball overwhelms the delicate taste of the fish, and the side of risotto didn't taste like much. Service was slow, one server was working hard, others not seemingly paying much attention. Nobody offered water, or refilled our wine. Maybe the place is too big and diversified for what they can handle.
Amazing sit down fine dining. There is two sides to the restaurant, one side is more casual and would be great for a family night out where the other is fancier and perfect for date night Great experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Covid protocols were followed to a tee. We went for our honeymoon dinner and everyone was so excited for us. Portions were huge. You definitely get what you are paying for. We will definitely return the next time we are in town.
I ordered fish & chips from the Bella Cucia food truck, and while the fish was very fresh and yummy, fries were delicious as well, the service was horrible. …
Awful food worse experience! I had taken my wife here before when the location was down by the water. It was always a great experience. We had not been on a date in over a year and we couldn't wait! Yesterday we returned- Firstly they do not remind you when booking that they have changed locations. The new restaurant is fine dining / family dining which is the dumbest concept I have ever heard of. It's a total s**t show. We showed up and aimlessly walked around trying to figure out how to be seated. We finally just interrupted someone eating to asked. We booked an outdoor table which of course was not available so a metal patio table was put in-between two families enjoying chicken fingers and pizza? Nice fine dinning experience eh! It took 20 mins before our waitress acknowledged our existence. We immediately ordered everything knowing everyone around us was waiting for their food. After another 25mins and the table beside us singing happy birthday to there kid (great fine dinning experience!) our order started arriving - my meal Short ribs had to be the worse meal I ever ate no exaggeration. I have never eaten anything so salty. It's shameful that owners of this company allow so many patrons when they do not have the staff to handle it. I would suggest Maurizo...
This place is delicious, highly recommend! Came here with five of us and everything we tried was spot-on (and this is coming from an Italian person in our group). The escargots came in a delicious sauce, the beet salad was excellent, the scallops were tasty. The group consensus was our favourite main dishes were the tagliatelle ragout and seafood pesto. And for desserts we loved the panna cotta and pear crostata the best (but the tiramisu and Italian banana split were very tasty as well). All the staff were very friendly and it was great talking with the owner, Jane. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!
Actually a very pleasant place with a good service, music, service, and wine list. The servings sizes and appearances are very good as well. The food taste though is very disappointing. The meats, sea food, and even pasta are clearly …
We ordered from this restaurant for the first time tonight. The Bruschetta was delicious and the beef short rib saltimbocca just fell apart when you touched it with a fork. The chicken Marsala was cooked to perfection. There was a little wait for the food but it was well worth it. The portions were large and everything was scrumptious. They have take out only at this time but we took it home and had date night during COVID. We will definitely be back again to try the other menu items.
I like to stop at Parry Sound for dinner and a break on the Toronto-Sudbury drive. Last night I tried Bella Cucina for the first time. It's new since May. I always try to have fish in PS, so I tried the pickerel Limoncello, which was great. Breaded pickerel, risotto, asparagus and zucchini perfectly done, nice presentation. The limoncello touch was a kind of lemon chutney I'd call it. Sweet and sour is the way I'd describe it. Nice touch for my palate. Challenging almost. Had a Peroni and an espresso. Cozy dining room. Nice music. Back on the road satisfied.
The menu is Italian, but that's about it... starting from bread and finishing with main dish (chicken parmigiano) everything was disappointing. Pasta was soggy and just swimming in tomato sauce (sauce just way overpowered with basil and …
Ordered an appetizer and pasta for take out today. Time for pick up given 8:15 pm. Waited for 45 mins (8:56 pm) to finally get what I ordered. So hungry and disappointed. Will never order from them again.
We had the family chicken cacciatore and it was massive and quite good.
Me and my partner came here because we love Italian food and we decided to come for a long weekend to visit Parry Sound. We checked the reviews which were high. My partner order pickerel fish and I ordered duck. We were waiting 30 min for our dishes. Women who were sitting next to us returned the food, what I heard it was cold. I'm from the country where duck is one of the famous dish to eat. What I can say is that when I was served the food which was completely cold. I requested server to re-heat the food. A little of the duck and roasted potatoes were burned, which pictures shows...and there were no seasonal vegetables at all, maybe one italian celery....my dish wasn't tasty at all and gravy was too heavy. I will be honest and I have never eaten so bad food ... it is so hard to make duck not tasty at all. My food costs 36$ which was definitely overpriced comparing to the quality. My partner's food was quite ok but Marmellata di Limoni doesn't go with this fish and cost 32$....presentation of these dishes were amazing and taste just terrible...literally I have had heartburn and needed go to shoppers to buy a medicine...I am really upset because we really enjoy eating nice food and this wasn't worth this money. We ordered 3 drinks and we were scared to order some dessert...so we skip it. Answer for the owner: Plates were not wiped...my partner left a lot of sauce, veggies and marmellata which wasn't tasty....For sure we will never come back here after this owner's answer and I won't recommend this place to anyone. For sure what you serve are not gourmet Italian food. What about these two woman who also returned the food? Do you have an answer? And I dont see any bad reviews in my account, I recommended places which are worth not this "restaurant". Btw stop using plastic straws as well and think about environment I feel calling your restaurant authentic Italian is a joke . You are in the service industry rather than being humble and taking feedback from your clients you mock the feedback given to you . It won't be long that your restraunt will be shut down if you don't change that attitude . Secondly I feel instead of having an Italian fine dining restaurant you are better of opening a McDonalds. At least in that way they will make sure that your quality isn't pathetic and the food is warm for a change. I found it's very funny that owner deleted his comment....he abused his clients and after my comment a lot of people had this same experience like me and put bad review too. Maybe finally he realized that his restaurant is worse than McDonald's where he sent me...
Went here for dinner on a friday night. Had to phone 3 times to get a reservation because no one answered when I called. When we arrived, the dinning room was only about half full on a friday night. I suspect this is because people are avoiding the restaurant because of some comments the owner made on social media. That's a mistake on their part, because they are missing out on easily the best food in parry sound. I grew up in an Italian neighbourhood, and this was the taste of home i'd been wanting. "Beet salad" doesnt sound like the best thing, but trust me, it's amazing. The goat's cheese complements it perfectly, I ate the whole thing without stopping to talk at all. Then I had the veal and risotto, which was fork-cut tender in a sauce that had a smooth, berry taste, balanced perfectly by the saltier risotto. I ordered a glass of house white, which to be honest, tasted a bit like olive oil, and the kenny g muzak playing in the background made me feel a bit like I was in an elevator somewhere, but none of those complaints matter in light of what was honestly the best restaurant meal I have had in years.
If you want good Italian food this is the place. A bit pricey but if you want good home style food you will find it there.
We had a large group and they were very accommodating. Everyone's food came together and the meals were all amazing. Their take on escargot is delicious and the boar and all pasta's were so full of flavour and delicious. Great Job!
Delicious food...I was not expecting it to be so good! We ordered their fine dining meals to go and were suprised as how well they travelled. The short rib and boar dishes were absolutely wonderful. We are happy to have found another great restaurant in muskoka that is open year round. The only other restaurant that would be competition is Crossroads all the way in Rosseau.
We were stuck in 14 day quarentine time (after travel) and were unable to leave for food. We were so happy to have an amazing meal delivered (even though we live out of town) by Di Salvo’s Bella Cucina in Parry Sound. I really appreciated the break from cooking. The meal was delicious and went way beyond our expectations. The Lasagna is amazing.
Food was just OK. Definitely not fine dining! I made a reservation but they weren't prepared for us. They were not busy at all. Then the bill wasn't split the way we had asked it to be, also in advance. Not impressed!!
Amazing pineapple pizza. Best I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
Due to Covid, our experience this time was takeout but the food was delicious and prepared perfectly. We had the small order of penne with sausage and it was enough for two meals.. very generous portions and lots of the good stuff! I have been there in pre pandemic days and though we just had appetizers, they were excellent as well. Can't wait to return.
It’s a very cozy place with a really good menu & great service. The seared scallops and escargot were excellent. Our mains were good too but the appetizers were 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended
Since we had a great experience at this restaurant two years ago, I was looking forward to trying their new location. But this time we did not enjoy it. We ordered the Caprese salad and it was swimming in a balsamic glaze that was way too sweet. The same sweet glaze was provided to dip your bread. I had the pickerel which was good but it came with a very think risotto that didn’t have any flavour and the vegetables consisted of a couple pieces of cauliflower. My friend ordered the seafood pasta and said it was terrible and had a heavy tomato sauce that tasted like tomato paste. The service also needs improvement. Although the restaurant was not busy, we were not given any water, and had to ask for bread (twice), pepper and parmesan cheese. Not a big deal but at the prices they are charging you should not have to ask.
Called and made sure they could seat us. 2 hours before closing. They confirmed they were open for 2 more hours. We showed up at 8pm to eat for 3 people. Approximately 5 minutes after making the phone call. Just to be told they had no food and wouldn’t be able to serve us. In conclusion, 2 hours before closing they ran out of food and told us to come even though they couldn’t serve us. Avoid at all costs.
Outstanding fine dining experience, slowly working through the menu. 7 dishes tried and 7 top hits. This is the best places to eat in the area, including Muskoka! Wonderful flavors and presentation..
