We hired MCG to cater and bartend our wedding (during Covid) - a small gathering at a private cottage. MCG worked with us to develop the meal courses that we were excited about and that matched dietary restrictions of our guests. MCG also worked with us to develop signature cocktails for the event and wine pairings for each course. MCG provided a very professional and customized catered dinner service, delicious food that people are still raving about, and amazing bartending service that felt customized for each guest. I'd strongly recommend them to friends, family and others.

We hired Derick and his My Catering Group crew for our August 2017 wedding at the Cumberland Museum. Despite the fact that I was a total groomzilla, they entertained my many changes without any problems. Alanna was great to work with. The communicated any concerns they had about the venue, which is outdoors and no facilities and made sure that on the day of, they were prepared for everything. The brought their mobile food truck and prepared all the appetizers, mains, desserts and late-night snacks on location. Literally everyone raved about the food, whether it be the mouth-watering canapees, the moist-and-tender chicken and ribs, the super rich peanut butter milk chocolate brownies a la mode or the served-fresh and to order late night snack! A few people have already gotten their business cards. Go with My Catering Group - you won't be disappointed.

I recently had an at-home catered dinner from MCG and it was phenomenal, as usual! The braised beef is ridiculously good and they deliver your meal right to your door. All you have to do is follow their easy instructions for heating/assembling and plating. I have also attended multiple events catered by them over the years (including my own wedding In 2019) and they never disappoint. They also have some of the best customer service I have ever seen. Would highly recommend trying them out!

Picked up their New Years Eve kit and it was definitely worth it! Everything was ready when we went to pick it up. Everything in the box went straight until to fridge until we were ready to eat. Instructions were clear about how to heat up the meals. I will definitely look out for their weekend menu's and order again!

I can't even begin to shout my approval loud enough from the rooftop! It's not often that this kind of service gets my attention. I let them cater a small Christmas dinner this year. The food was astounding! I will now be a regular customer. It was a delivered deal which we refrigerated and heated up Christmas night. The dinner came packed very well from outer to inner. There was no spillage of any kind, no dirty tops or containers and everything was protected from squishing. The food itself was so good, we're going to order the dinner for 4 next year so we can have leftovers. Lol The only thing I could complain about is portion size, and only a few. We could have used more potatoes, salad and cranberry sauce. Otherwise the portions were perfect. Thank you for making an emotional Yule holiday a little bit better. Picture Note: Before and after. This a catering company that explores flavours, textures, and food combinations while taking you through the best culinary experience. If you want to go beyond traditional wedding food (i.e. choose chicken or fish or steak), MCG will make it way more interesting, and make sure your guest are dreaming about the food long after they ate. We had a tapas style wedding, each meal was inspired by Caribbean and southern cuisine, along with our fave selections: cheeseboards, french and greek dishes. The food was fresh and packed with flavours. Our guests are still obsessed!!! The other crucial part of the service was the staff. Each staff member really catered to us and our guests. Wow what a great place! The give you the food ready to heat up at home and enjoy a gourmet meal. We enjoyed the lamb shank with vegetables and a wonderfully mushroom soup/arugula salad combo. Awesome crème brûlée for dessert. We will so be frequenting this place for our family special occasion meals as they genuinely enable you to have a fancy night out, at home!

We've ordered the "At home" 4-course meal options a couple of times (inlcuding a dinner for 6!) and have loved it. The quality of the food is great and the value is amazing for a 4-course meal. The instructions for reheating at home are easy to follow and everything turned out really well. I am hoping that My Catering Group will continue to offer this take home option - it's really great and feels like you are dining out in the comfort of your home.

We had My Catering Group help us cater our COVID wedding, as we had to adjust all of our plans to suit the current situation. As the new venue was out of town, we needed food that could be reheated (and still taste good). The food that we got went way beyond our expectations. We really wanted a beef dish, but it's very difficult to find one that is not super dry after reheating. The braised beef was probably the most popular dish, and even the leftovers after that were great! I'm also still dreaming about the cheese curd mashed potatoes. Vanessa was so wonderful in helping us pick our meal in a timely fashion as we only moved the wedding 3 months prior. We also had vegan/vegetarian guests, and one that is lactose & gluten intolerant. They had a great variety of options, and these guests were very impressed with the meal. The price was more than fair (especially for the quality) and the portions were amazing. We couldn't be happier with our decision to have them cater our wedding!

We hired MCG to cater our small (14 people) wedding, late summer 2020. The food was outstanding, from the two hors d'oeuvres to the charcuterie and cheese board to the main dish! Incredible flavors and fresh quality products. They worked with us to make sure every detail of the menu fit our asks. Their chef discretely prepared and plated the food to perfection and a server passed it around so we could relax and enjoy the meal. Everyone raved about the food, best catering experience ever!

My daughter's backyard wedding this past Saturday was catered by My Catering Group and my husband and I were so impressed with the beautiful meal that was served. Not only was everything tasty but it was also a treat for the eyes - so beautifully presented. The owner Derek and the coordinator Alanna run an awesome and professional team of wait staff and cooks. From appetizers being brought to every group of people standing around the rather large yard to the smooth dinner service and finally the delicious grilled cheese snacks, we enjoyed every bite. I would say most of the guests had never been to a vegetarian only wedding before and I believe they were won over! I would definitely recommend My Catering Group :)

Derick and My Catering catered our wedding last year in November and did an incredible job. They were so easy to work with and Alanna in particular was so helpful to us. Derick and Alana made us feel so comfortable and were so friendly to us. They customized our menu and provided peanut free services for our guests. Our vegan and vegetarian guests raved about the options for them and were so thankful to not get pasta or risotto as their meal. Our guests raved about our food after the wedding. The interactive dessert station was a real hit with all of our guests. Their staff was very professional and friendly. The food plating was some of the best that I've seen at any wedding. I cannot recommend mycatering enough if you are looking for a wedding caterer in Ottawa. The prices were reasonable and they were prompt in their responses to us. They made our special day just that more memorable.

I had to postpone my wedding due to Covid last year and then this year the guest count and location changed due to restrictions. My Catering was amazing about working with me and making sure that even though it wasn't the large scale event they had originally agreed to, they still made it feel special and extravagant. During the event they made sure that every meal was tailored to each person's individual dietary needs, and even made adjustments on the fly. Great company, Great food, Great service! We had My Catering Group supply food and service at our wedding on August 18th at the Horticulture building. The staff they brought in including servers, bartenders and chefs were all professional, courteous and really amazing, they helped make a perfect day. The food was everything expected and more. The reason for the 3 star rating is because of a surprise $1200+ bill four days before our wedding. We signed a contract with them 2 years ago agreeing on a price. When I asked about the increase to our bill I was told it's because of inflation and that if I booked the same food today it would have been double the price. I suppose I should have felt lucky, but instead I had to try and dig up an extra $1200 four days before my wedding. I think this was unacceptable and they had my hands tied, we had no choice but to pay. The worst part is that we did not have the extra $1200+ laying around, so the money had to come out of the tips we set aside for the amazing staff that was at the wedding. Apparently they have "changed how they quote", but this was an unnecessary stress for me and my wife so close to an already busy and stressful week. We appreciate the response from My Catering Group below, however the appropriate thing to do when a company makes a mistake is to own up to that mistake (which they have done) and then provide a resolution to the customer for that mistake (which they have not done). In this case, the appropriate resolution (in my opinion) would be for My Catering Group to refund the additional cost of the "inflation charges" that was not included in our initial contract.

Amazing restaurant quality food at home! I gifted a meal to some new parents instead of the usual frozen casserole and they were so grateful and blown away by what they received with very minimal work to put together. Highly recommend!

My wife and I got married at the beginning of the month and had to make a last minute decision on a catering company and WOW did we get lucky that our wedding planner informed us about this company. (Shanon Kennedy) food was outstanding and the staff and service was above and beyond. Also considering our wedding was outside in a tent I couldn’t believe how hot and delicious the food was. We were a multicultural bride and group, with a very particular pallet and menu in mind, and we were not disappointed! We are still hearing praise for how outstanding our wedding food was! My Catering Groups weekly dinner offerings aren’t just for special occasions, they make occasions special. I’d much rather eat at home than at a restaurant now and this is not average or normal fare. It works equally well if your have friends that are in your circle over and takes all pressure off you being the chef. Terrific production!
