Phoned in an order and quickly had it. The sandwiches were very good and generous portions. Had the meatball sub and should have ordered it hot and dirty. The meatballs were so big they needed more sauce so don't forget to order it that way. The pecan tarts were nice too.

If you’re hungry these sandwiches are going to do the trick. The prices are very reasonable and they have a huge selection to chose from. I suggest the #16 St Andrews. Best of all, you can finish off your huge sandwich with an amazing butter tart. There is no place in the city that compares.

How can you not like this place?!?! They do amazing sandwiches and baked goods. If you really want to be satisfied with a hearty sandwich this is definitely a place to go. The baked goods are absolutely delicious especially the buttermilk pies and butter tarts. The staff are friendly and courteous and you really feel like your getting your money's worth. Various sandwiches are named after people they have known and all are good!

Best sandwiches and wraps in the area. I go for the #4, #14, #22 or a #29 on a sundried tomato. If you feel like a tasty messy one that will most likely require a fork and knife, go for the #15 or the #21 you will not regret it. Can’t forget the pastries and frozen meals they have. Everything is great including the coffee.. you will never leave unsatisfied.

Great place to get lunch! Can’t go wrong with a sandwich they are all good! My fav is the meatball with eggplant! Frank’s Special is my #2 go too! I also like the to go freezer with lots of goodies to bring home for dinner. The meatballs in sauce are great! Just throw in the oven and then toss on some pasta and good to go! Tarts are on a different level! Staff are very friendly.

Ok first of all Round of applause for this place, it is a definition of optimized and authentic local business. Very small shop but super organized and well-run and Faaaast! Next lets talk about food. Literally best quality subs and sandwiches with this price that I had in Ottawa! And tarts are fresh and yummy, real experience of having authentic Ontario butter tart????

The food here is amazing! You get a really good portion for a cheap price. The sandwiches are the best, and dont be afraid to request for them to be "hot and dirty", which means hot peppers and extra sauce is added. If you're in the area, you NEED to try this place!

We drove out to try the butter tarts (a dozen) and ended up getting sandwhiches and cannolies as well. Let me first say that the service was wonderful and prices quite reasonable. The three stars are due to the tarts being quite underwhelming… very little filling and mostly crust. This could have been forgiveable had the crust been great, but it wasn’t the case. Some of the tarts were next to empty. The cannolies were very good though, so I recommend you stick with those and a generous sandwhich.

Seriously one of the best, if not the best, Sandwich shop in all of Ottawa. You get a Nerf sized football ???? sandwich with almost 2 inches of meat. We love the amazing selection of 30+ different types of sandwiches available. Along with the variety of tarts, sausage rolls, pies, cookies, and other baked goods. The sandwiches are at a really good price, even if they went up a bit due to costs it would still be worth it. We also like the variety of different types of breads available. They offer three different types of wraps as well as a jalapeño cheese and onion bun plus the regular white bun.

Butter tarts are AMAZING and really worth a try. I personally did not like their cookies, the texture was slightly too hard for my taste. Service was also very nice and helpful. Really worth a visit!

Great for sandwiches, not so great for other stuff. We typically go here for the sandwiches. Even with price increases they are a great deal. Huge amount of meat, great toppings. Taste amazing! Only disappointment was the pie we had last time, strawberry rhubarb. We had tried one from elsewhere and liked it, figured a bake shop like Frank’s would make good pies so got one. We ended up throwing it out. First, they are frozen, which we knew already. But when thawed, the filling was basically bland mush, tasteless. It was basically baby food in a pie crust. Won’t get any more pies here, but will still come back for the sandwiches!

Really wish I would have visited this place sooner!! Oh well, glad that I found it now. The prices are amazing and you get some great quality food. I got a sandwich and butter tart and highly recommend. Huge serving of meat on the bun, and the butter tart tasted like the best homemade butter tart that I have ever had. The pastry was very good and the filling was delicious. The store was clean and nice inside, and the staff were friendly and helped us with our purchase. We will definitely be back to try something new.

Oh my GOSHHHH!! BEST sandwich I've ever had in my life! I'm such a picky eater too. The sandwich was LOADED, the bread was SOOOO FRESH and the portion was huge!!!! Fresh ingredients, large sandwiches and great price. Highly recommend getting a wrap instead of the bun. It’s always packed during a lunch rush, but they turn over the line quickly. Have tried some of their freezer items that have all been good. Tarts and other baked goods are delicious. I personally prefer thinner pastry on the tarts, but they are tasty nonetheless

So wish I could give these guys 5 stars. First off, this place runs like clockwork, there was a line out the door when I got there but was in and out in about 10 mins. Service is super good, professional, and friendly. The sandwiches are STACKED, got the #28 on onion bread. The only downfall was the bread was quite dry and a little stale, will definitely go with white or the jalapeno cheddar bread next time. Price is amazing for what you get, and the tarts are bomb. Will be back for sure.

Great value sandwiches with fresh ingredients and great flavours, and lots of variety too! They also sell frozen pies and soups, and of course different flavoured butter tarts. We tried the Mean Jeanne and it was great. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30 and waited 10-15 minutes to order. The staff are quick and friendly, masked up, and ensuring a max occupancy of 4 customers in store.

The sandwiches speak for themselves. Read the multiple reviews about how good they are. It's true!! But what's even better is how amazing the staff are. Particularly with children. Absolutely incredible the time they take. My 2 year old daughter gets treated by the staff to a cookie every time we go. They see her coming and they immediately grab a cookie and give it to her. It's incredible. Such a classy touch. As a result I find myself going there for sandwiches quite often, even though I live 25kms away. My wife and I are delighted with the sambos and my daughter is equally delighted with her cookie. It's a win win. Thank you.

Love Frank's generally my review would have been better. Today, my regular #21 was honestly disappointing made with little bits of beef making the sandwich looking like it was made by scraping the last of the pot but not wonderful as it can be. Sauce was delicious but if you love the jalapeno buns I find they are always out when I am there ..today at 1:45 ☹. It's Weds so not sure why.

I went into the Meadowlands location for the first time to try one of their sandwiches. It was the best decision I made. The staff there were friendly and very helpful. I have never been to a sandwich place with so many options. On top of 30 different sandwiches to choose from, they had salads, frozen meals, whole pies, and bunch of pastries. I got the #27 on an onion bun and a piece of strawberry rhubarb crumble pie. I will be telling everyone about this place.

I would rate this place just below La Bottega but better than Dirienzos. Meats are plentiful however bread is not as good as La Bottega which makes for a dry eating experience at times. They also sell cookies, pies, dinner entrees and tarts. Fast though if there's a line. Edit: Prices are now $7.75 for a sandwich,$0.75 for a cookie and $2.25 for a butter tart

Still a good sandwich but no longer a good deal. The prices have gone up twice in the last year or two. I don't blame them if they had to raise prices but as someone who used to go weekly, it's tough. Same good quality but 3 stars for value. Sadly, becoming just another sandwich shop now.

Huge delicious sandwiches that have been made consistently for years. In the 7 years that I've been going there, I have NEVER had a sandwich with less ingredients, (nor inferior ingredients) than any of the times before. They have great pies and tarts too.

I just had the most INCREDIBLE sandwich I think I've ever had in my life!! I didn't even go to the shop. My tastes were described to the owner who knew exactly what to tell this expert sandwich maker. Everything down to the cheeky label was perfection and a price that's better than inferior fast food. Wow! What a meaty and filling sandwich. Seriously there is enough meat on one for two sandwiches. The bread was fresh and delicious. The sandwich had a sauce on it that was wonderful it tasted kind of like southwestern or Catalina. This place has everything you need for a superb sandwich. One last thing that brings it all together is the cheese ! The cheese was fresh and double stacked. I was quite impressed and i would definitely recommend trying out this classic deli you will not be disappointed. I had the turkey and ham on white with Swiss chesse.

Tried this place once and loved it! Fast service and super friendly. After trying 1 sandwich I decided to make it a goal in 2021 to try all 30. (With the exception of the veggie one) I’ve tried about 10 since the first time I ate here in November 2020 and have yet to find one I didn’t like. Fair prices as well and butter tarts are incredible. Appreciate the little things and support local businesses. Hopefully I’ll be back with more updates after trying all 30 sandwiches.

Frank's is AMAZING. Excellent food, super friendly staff and a community minded business. I noticed someone was unhappy about them being out of cheese and jalapeno buns...I understand the disappointment as everything is so delicious! But from what I gather, that particular bakery was closed for the past few months and JUST re-opened. I'll bet they're filling orders as fast as they can. This was a real treat! I’ve looked for authentic sausage rolls for years but this is the first time I’ve found them in the Ottawa area. They definitely are worth the drive. In addition, I bought a sandwich, a sample of tarts, a slice of buttermilk pie, and the individual chicken pot pies to try. The pastry is probably the best commercial pastry I’ve had in a very long time. The sandwich was very fresh and very satisfying. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone wanting a lunch, a take home dinner, or catering an office gathering

My daughter turned me on to this place when she lived close to the one on Meadowlands. Their butter tarts (as well as their other tarts) are amazing. We've also sampled their beef & Guinness & chicken pot pies....a little more than you'd pay at a grocery store but head & shoulders above in quality, worth every penny.

We're big fans of Frank's pastries/pies and have purchased them every year at the Cumberland Farmer's Market. During a visit to the Monet exhibit on a Sunday, Frank's had a kiosk at Lansdowne. We stopped to check out their wares and came home with a Guinness Steak & Mushroom pie. Last night we finally pulled it out and heated it for supper. The pie looked great and so did the contents when I served it up, however two things I noted quickly was the pie was very salty (and I like my food well seasoned), and salty to the point I couldn't eat it. I'm not a crust person so admit to eating it largely without crust attached, Not sure if that would change anything as the salt was quite overwhelming. Second was I had hoped for more visible evidence of mushrooms in the pie, but only found bits vs slices or chunks. The crust was very sturdy and my fellow diners seemed to enjoy that thoroughly so I trust the crust was to their liking. Hoping the salt piece was a one time quantity error in that batch. Also hoping to make a visit some day to their bricks & mortar store after reading such great reviews of their fresh sandwiches, and to pick up some apple crumble dessert! We have a chicken pie from Frank's still in the freezer. and am ooking forward to sampling that as well.

Great place for sandwiches! They absolutely load up each sandwich. My favourite is the number 1. They also have a fridge full of take home meals and desserts. I personally love the meatballs, they are tasty and massive.

The price can't be beat! Probably some of the best sandwiches in Ottawa. The bakery here is also amazing. I was surprised to see so many choices of pre-made dishes and beautiful pies and butter tarts. Can't go in without buying something! Keep up the great work!
