Very tasty! Had it delivered with Skip the Dishes, the food arrived nice and hot. I think they threw in an extra side of soup that I didn't order, but I'm not complaining! Very tasty, very filling, good for sharing. Would recommend to anyone looking to get some good food in Orillia! Good selection too!

Absolutely fantastic! Service was amazing and food even better. I live in Newmarket and had to drive a friend to Orillia so I went by to check Chef Simon's out because of the rave reviews online. Did not disappoint. Can't wait to go back to try more of their dishes. Thanks Chef Simon ????

Been here a couple times now and the food is fantastic. I'm so excited that Orillia finally has a Vietnamese restaurant that can make proper Pho. My wife had the BBQ chicken w/ pad Thai and loved it. Will be making this place our regular place. Edit: we ordered some of their other menu items recently and everything was over cooked in this terrible, soggy, batter. It was also swimming in pineapple. Amazing how quickly they went from 5 star, to one star food over night. Will leave them with three stars for now as previous experience was great. Will revise my review if this experience was a one time thing. *crosses fingers*

I've come here a number of times and have always had delicious meals. Most recently had the Vietnamese sandwich combo lemongrass Porkbelly--it's spicy. If you haven't tried it before, just think thick-cut bacon pieces. The combo also comes with a pop. Simon is still the one behind preparing the food. I got a picture of him frying the porkbelly in the skillet. The food has always been great here and I will continue coming back

We are new to the area and ordered takeout for the first and last time. We ordered "Vietnamese" food, the biggest let down ever. The food and "Pho soup" tasted more like Hakka than Vietnamese. Super heavy on soy sauce, sodium and spicy.. I'm not sure how this restaurant can have a 4.5 average rating, when their food is simply terrible!??

I don’t usually give businesses negative reviews, because I try to give them the benefit of the doubt when they mess up, but I feel like I need to say something to warn others. I went to pick up an order and the teenage boy working there insulted my appearance. I wasn’t rude or anything towards him (I was just patiently waiting for the order), so I am very confused as to why he felt the need to put a complete stranger down for no reason. I definitely will not be returning.

Went there for lunch around 11. The food was warm not fresh. Like they microwaved it. Ribs were hard to chew. Bbq chicken didnot even tasted like bbq. Just had half of it and throw the rest. Wasted 14 bucks.

Located on the Memorial Drive strip with lots of other restaurants try this cute little place for an authentic Viet/Thai fusion experience. The Jasmine Tea was a nice way to Start things off and we shared an order of Thai Spring Rolls and an order of Cold Rolls. The Tofu Pad Thai was delicious and the 2 meat combo is what my friend order with the steamed rice and General Tao Chicken which is what I will order next time in. Good food relaxing atmosphere and good service. The prices were very reasonable for the large portions they serve. Check it out!

We decided to eat here, because other reviews were so generous. We ordered over the phone at 5:45 PM and our order was only available after 7. My wife came inside TWICE and waited excessively, as she was told to wait just a little longer. When we finally received our food, we realized it was not cooked professionally. This is the most plain Pho we have ever had, my Vienamese wife was very upset to find the broth to be flavorless. Please see the attached photos. We had Pad Thai, Pho, Tom Yum small soup and what appears to be a soggy-unfresh mango salad. At least it was edible. Still, no smile or apology for the wait. Thank you, Chef Cimon's Kitchen, for feeding us.

We order from here a few times a year and it’s always fantastic. I love the Vietnamese spring rolls, beef panang and street style pad Thai. Great portions and great flavour. Never disappointed.

The portion for the Tom-Yum soup is great! I'm blown away with the spice and flavor, it's perfect. I also like how they separate the noodles etc from the main broth, so I know I can proportion my soup the way I like it :D

It was a very strange experience. The waiter(or the owner) never talks to you even when taking the order which makes you so uncomfortable...The kitchen at the back looked huge but the actual dining area is very tiny, so you are literally eating in front of that unfriendly staff (or the owner) which makes you extra uncomfortable...Not a great resturant for group dining since seats are very limited and no water served until you tell the waiter several times. And it was just us in the shop - he was not busy at all. On top of that, the machine forces you to tip minimum 20%.

This is a small place with just couple of tables that mostly caters for takeout. The food is amazing, especially the Panang peanut curry ( highly recommend to order it )

The food tastes fantastic, prices are really good in my opinion, the place inside is really cozy and comfortable to be in, and the cooks are extremely friendly -- they let my dog come inside to hide from the heavy rain while I picked up my food, and even gave me a bag of pho broth bones to takes home for her! (Which she is absolutely adoring). Thank you so much, guys. Fantastic first experience for me and I can't wait to come back.

Ordered some take-out from here. Had red curry chicken and peanut sauce chicken. They were both too spicy for me and not very flavorful. They should also pack soup items in a container that is less likely to spill when ordering out.

This is fantastic Vietnamese food. The dining area isn't great but its more of a take out joint. Regardless you really cant go wrong here. Everything is fresh, and delicious. One of the better/higher value places in Orillia to eat if Franchise/Cara restaurant chains aren't your thing.

I am absolutely blown away by my first experience at Chef Simon’s Kitchen. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Bahn Mi sand which and I am literally at a loss for words. With every bite you experience a different incredible flavour. The sandwich was so good I had to order pho for later. Not to mention the service was fantastic. If you’re reading this review and are at all skeptical about ordering I can confirm you will not be disappointed!

Just had the pork belly banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) from Chef Simon’s and it was EXACTLY what I needed! There was a good amount of heat in the sandwich that was balanced with the sweet and tart pickled veggies (carrot and radish) and fresh cilantro. The bun was nicely crusty and the pork belly was marinated nicely with crispy fried pork rind. It was texturally perfect with a balance of crunch and chew. Although I just finished eating my sandwich my mouth is starting to water again as I write this review. Looking forward to going back for their Phở as I have had a serious craving since moving to the north. Can’t wait to go back! Sorry, I didn’t take a photo because I ate it right away…

The food here is above average from what you would expect from the location and decor. At a first glance at the menu choices it would seem like a typical Asian restaurant... The suprise comes when the food arrives... Fresh ingredients the right amount of the right spices make the dishes served here very tasty and balanced...I would definitely recommend trying some of the food if you find yourself in Orillia.

Well there are many postives, the negatives way outweigh the pros. Well the staff is friendly and the kitchen looks very clean I find the food to be very disappointing. I got the rice with BBQ Rib and Chicken. Well the was a very generous portion of rice I found it very flavorless, the chicken tastes rely funny and made me wounder if I am going to regret it latter and the ribs were fried and very tuff. Not only was the food disappointing I noticed after I ordered there were a bunch if small bugs flying around. I will not be retuning and recommend staying away.

Awesome food, highly recommend. Only seats 6 so take away a good idea. Shake was delicious, best hot and sour soup i have had in a long time, Vietnamese spring roll...yummy . Fresh cooked, flavorful and friendly. Too bad I don't live closer, I would be a regular, I was just passing through. Worth a few extra minutes drive off the highway.

Went in for lunch. Chicken Pad Thai. Tao Chicken with rice. Spring rolls, and hot sour soup. My friend ordered beef Pho. Owner Peter assisted us in our selection, and showed us how to eat the Pho. In a word, a superb meal. Fresh, flavorful, and lots of it. I will be back.

I made a lifestyle change to eat and be more healthy. I became a vegetarian recently and have found some very delicious food here at Chef Simon's Kitchen. You can eat both deliciously and healthy here. I feel great and have lost 15 lbs already. The food and the staff will definitely keep me coming back again and again.

A most wonderful and delightful discovery in the heart of Orillia. Picked up lunch here first time, was highly recommended from a local. The food was delicious, appropriately seasoned, fresh and so good. This food would normally be served at a higher end restaurant for dinner. So good! I am pleased to have Chef Simon so close by. Good quality prepared food is hard to find these days when eating out. I prefer to prepare my own food due to my food sensitivities. I felt good eating this food, it agreed with my stomach and palate, felt light after eating and satisfied. Portions were just right. Ample free parking. Prices are fair and reflect the quality of food. Very impressed with this establishment. Primarily a takeout venue with some eat-in capacity seating. Lots to select from. The food presentation was excellent, sauces were light and delicious. This is definitely Chef quality food and I will be a returning customer. Life is Good! :)

Been there twice. First time my order was perfect. Taste was awesome. This time they put sesame seeds (as a garnish) on when I asked them not to. Not an issue for most but for those with diverticulosis it's a big deal. Not sure if I will return back.

Ordered beef and chicken pho and Vietnamese spring rolls for delivery (through skip the dishes). Everything came quickly, was still warm and super delicious! The pho broth is amazing and easily one of the best I’ve had. Spring rolls were large, crispy and so yummy. Highly recommend!

I gave cash guy $40 and dude only gave me $8 back. I was unaware that dinner was actually $10 cheaper than I thought, but he pocked the extra $10 and claimed I only gave $30. Also, Food was under portioned but tasty and for that guy receives 1 star. (Watch your dollars around this geezer folks).

The food is tasty.. . BUT...if you know and expect genuine Vietnamese food this is not the place to eat. It appears they try to cater to the Canadian pallet and change a lot of there dishes to what they think Canadians would like and not what the authentic dish actually is or tastes like. Eaten here 3 times. Order a total of 11 dishes and not a single one of them tastes like the authentic dish. They all tasted good but when I order what I think is a familiar Vietnamese dish because it is called that on the menu, I expect to get that dish. Not a dish that barely comes close to resembling it. Food is a lot more like 'Fusion' than Vietnamese.

My wife has ordered from here many times and their food as always been great. (Minus the rice) Today with my wife being out of town, she decided to treat me and order me the peanut chicken sauce with a mango smoothie. I was very excited for my dinner. It showed up and the meal was not what was ordered. The rice was not soft and undercooked; and the meal did smell good however it was not peanut chicken. It tasted something similar to a red curry. I then called to make sure there wasn’t an error on the order. The employee just told me “you have bad taste buds” then said that next time he will give us a discount of a mango smoothie. I then expressed my feelings about wanting the proper meal I ordered and they finally said next time they will give me a free meal instead. I got a flavourless mango smoothie that tasted like iced milk, and a incorrect meal! (I know because we ordered the peanut chicken sauce many times) and the employees answer was I have bad taste buds. They never even asked if they could send me the proper meal. This is terrible customer service.

Second time in two weeks that I ordered from Simon's. First time noodle soup with wonton... excellent. This time Pad Thai noodle and shimp plus two spring rolls. I ate the spring rolls first and had to wait two hours because that filled me up and were delicious. The other part of the order was equally delicious and just the right amount of spices. Banh-Mi has obviously found its way north! I just had the Char-siu (BBQ'd pork) with a couple of spring rolls. Delivered with an iced-tea for less than 20 bucks. It came hot, fresh and really, really delicious. It looked amazing when I opened it and I wish I hadda taken a picture before I crammed it in my face-hole. This is my first time ordering from Chef Simon, but this will definitely be a weekly treat for me. Wow!
