Awesome Restaurant for African Dishes

Went to the restaurant and found easy parking right in front of it.... the lady is very pleasant and nice... we ordered Jollof rice with Chicken, jollof rive with beef, jollof rice with Goat, jollof rice with plantain and beans... the jollof rice was the best we've had in Toronto... the beef was a bit too dry for our taste but we were told by friends that this is how its normally cooked in Nigeria... the goat meat was much nicer and delicious... the chicken was very dry... the beans and plantain were very good and tasty... i think overall we we were happy with the taste, quality and portions but I would not buy the chicken or beef again from Lola's... Thank you

Please if customer can’t have well cut plantain please don’t sell them. The plantain taste bad sometimes they mix with old one...or sometimes they use fish oil please treat your customers well. Do something with the plantain or take them off the menu simple.

First of all, the food is great. I would reccomend any of the Nigerian snacks. Sadly, that's where the good ends. The customer service was atrocious. The lady that I dealt with on the phone for a catering order was very rude. She put in no effort and did the bare minimum. The order was not completed at the agreed upon time and in general was an unpleasant experience. As a Nigerian, I speak for us as a whole when I say we need to better with our customer service. How do we expect other cultures to learn about our food if we treat them disrespectfully? I have gotten used to such treatment at Nigerian restaurants but this was particularly bad. I don't say this to bash this restaurant because I really enjoyed the food. However, the experience makes it difficult for me to ever go back.

Lolas catering is the one and only restaurant for small chops and other delectable African foods. Please let me tell you about the puff, sausage roll, and meat pie. Their catering service is 5 star as well. They are also the friendliest staff you will meet. I will always come back!

My first encounter with Lola's catering was when I made the mistake of calling. I called to ask if i could order in advance as I work far away from their location and knew I would get there close to closing time (7pm). The person on the phone told me no we do not that and proceeded to hang up before I could even say another word. A few months later despite this encounter I stupidly decided to go there because I was craving egusi. After travelling for over an 1hr i was told they do not serve any swallows or soups, they had ran out of Ayamashe and only had jollof rice and white rice (not even fried rice). So I ordered jollof rice + puff puff which wasn't what I wanted and went home. In conclusion, they only serve rice and snacks it seems like and definitely wasn't worth my trip there. They only get 2 stars because the Jrice was alright so I decided to be objective. Otherwise zero stars because what Nigerian food place doesnt sell soups???????!

I’m really disappointed in the good. The sausage rolls, puff puff, scotch are great, but everything was a complete letdown. We ordered stew on 3 separate occasions and every time we received nothing but bone and the stew was literally runny like water. Same with the ayamase. One of those times there was so much hair still left on the meat the whole stew was inedible. Incredibly disappointing.

Very poor customer service! I had never been here before so I thought I would call ahead to see if they have the food pre- prepared or if I would have to order ahead. I was about to drive an hour to get there so I wanted to be sure they had what I wanted. I asked she had meat pie and if they had up to 20 (because I wanted to order a lot). The person I spoke to said she does not have the time to count or check. I was shocked because I did not ask her to physically count it. All she could have said is we usually stock a lot of it... or if you order ahead of time I can have it ready for x date and that would be fine. I could not believe that someone has the guts to speak to another person in such a way. Highly disappointed because I had seen good reviews.

Great job with your consistency. I love that you are never out of puff puff whenever i order. I enjoyed your jollof rice and chicken at a great price of $8. My $11 order came to $33 with ubereats charges but your food is that good. Stay unbeatable!

Only good in pastry but very poor taste of other Africans food, we purchased a yam porridge and some ofada stew the taste was disgusting. Lola refused to change even when customer complained about her food.

A friend told me about this restaurant and I had to try it out. The Ayamase was so delicious and tasty. The scotch egg, puff puff and sausage were amazing!! I usually come from Oshawa to buy food here sometimes hahaha. The customer service was okay. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

The snacks are well made but the customer service makes the food bitter. Its a hit or miss depending on who attends to you! Having a bad day and you want snacks ? make sure the owner doesn’t attend to you, she is rude and has insane policies like you cant get the quantity you want because there are other customers coming (not like they are there standing in line with you) if you are not careful you will get insulted with your purchase.

So I called Lola for catering and this is not the first time she has shown very bad customer service, have used her for over 12 years in Canada , I asked if I could place an order, she said shes not sure, then I asked when she will be sure , she said she doesnt know and she doesnt want tomorow to be like today! Just wow.Not sure what that means and how that is any of my business as a customer. So its official, am never going back there.
