The Shawarma plate is gross. 1. The salad was drenched in dressing, making it soupy and unedible. 2. The gentleman there hardly gives you any meat. It was literally all salad soup and rice. 3. I'm usually not a fan of shawarma/fast food but decided to give this a try. Mostly because of the name. I mean, why would a chef make shawarma. :) Anyway, the food is excellent. Everything i ate exceeded my expectations. They serve good portions. The rice, potato, carrot and tomato sauce is fantastic. The salad dressing is a pleasant surprise. So much better than i expected. The falafel has a great garlic taste and its nicely crispy. I will definitely go back. My only criticism is that they still had the ads for the march special and its now the middle of april.

Also, he's in the back preparing food with no mask, in the front he's dealing with customers with no mask. Also has his gloves on and handling money and making food..which is absolutely disgusting. Visited recently two days ago, the quality of food didn't meet as it's before. Higher authority really need to check the quality of food regular basis. The sauce was not to good, when it comes with shawarma rice it tasted nothing. There was no any taste. When we asked to one of their crew member, he just gave some excuse and didn't hear properly.

My spouse and I love this place, we used to go at least once a week however lately we have been hesitant due to the feeling we get when we go to pay. This is a take out service just like McDonald's, Harvey's etc and people don't typically tip. At Chef's Door they have now added the tip option on their debit machine. This is fine as some will tip however when you don't we have received attitude especially from the shorter stockier guy and he makes it known that he is not impressed by the attitude he gives and smaller portion sizes. This is not fair, the prices are made to cover expenses and costs so why should we feel forced to tip? The prices are not cheap although we used to get large portions so we didn't mind paying for it. I'm torn as we do love the food but do not like the way we are being treated for not tipping.

The bad reviews are people that don't know how to order. Get the Lunch or Dinner plate depending on the serving size you want. You can also ask for sauces on the side if that is your thing.

They make an amazing shwarma, fetoush salad, kabob dinner or wrap. Honestly it's fresh produce, meat and they make it fresh for every order. Their garlic sauce is so pure and delicious it's to die for. I personally don't get anyrhing spicy on mine, although my family does; they all say it's spicy and yummy. The meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly. Everything about this place is amazing. I would say this location is last out of the three, but still delicious, fresh and guaranteed to leave you filled and satisfied. There is room to dine in also a patio. I highly recommend if you're looking for a cheap delicious meal!

My mouth was literally left watering, after just one bite! The perfect blend of Mediterranean spices invigorated my palette: crisp golden brown falafels served on bed of rice, next to a generous portion of garden salad; rich with vegetables... and yes pineapples! Dressed with tahini, a phenomenal garlic sauce, and hot sauce to taste. The finishing touch was a sprinkle of sumac.

Good flavour but come on, where is the meat? Plate dinners are always bloated with rice. For the price you are paying, there should be more meat and not rice, the cheapest ingredient! I've asked before for a little less rice and a little more meat and I was advised to order double meat. The portion of meat wasn't fair to begin with and I'm told to order double meat, now that's customer service at its finest! LOL

Seeing that this restaurant had high reviews we decided to give them a chance, but we were strongly disappointed. We ordered 2 chicken shawarma on rice and was not impressed with the lack of flavors from the chicken and the rice. There was no seasoning in the rice or the chicken. In addition, there isn't a lot of chicken either. Also the garlic sauce didn't even taste like garlic, it tastes more like yogurt sauce? It was affordable but it was below average in my opinion. Most likely won't order again.

Honestly the best shawarma place in the area. Forget the chain restaurants like osmows, this place is quality, the chicken is tasty and the vegetables are fresh. The wraps are stuffed nicely and not to jam packed where the end of the wrap becomes soggy. I give 4 stars because sometimes they rush when there's a lot of people and the quality goes down and the wrap is still cold and not toasted enough. Please leave the wrap on the grill longer!!

The wraps are decent but the service is very ordinary. It seems they prioritize online orders over in-person orders at the restaurant. I have been made to wait at the front of the queue for 8-10 minutes multiple times while the staff go about their business refusing to acknowledge the people waiting.

To be fair, the food was good and different from shawarma places around the area (I'm a 30+ year native from the town) and have been in the area long before this place opened. I've also been a regular customer here since this place opened over a decade ago (though the server who cashed me out today and has served me almost every time in the last year seems to think I'm not?) This message is for management in order to please have a serious talk with your employees to be more sincere and courteous to your customers - even if they've had a slow/rough day :)

This place ain't bad. I get the feeling it uses higher than average quality ingredients but this is largely unsubstantiated and will likely change for the worse. The beef can be salty at times and they charge more for a chicken/beef mix. Does that equate to more meat? I don't know. Do yourself a favour and get some hot sauce, it flavourfully compliments the overall sandwich. Ordering can be chaotic during busy periods. I'd suggest(to the owner/operator) attaching a number to the order for reference.

One of the worse services I have ever encountered. The food handler was very condescending and on top of it, he accused me of not paying instead of checking their interact machine to see they were having printing issues. Then after I called that out, he tried to get me to fix it! It was a full out mess and to add, the plastic bag he gave me was greasy. I am very disappointed and surprised how they can continue to do business with providing such rude and poor service.

I had the Chicken Shawarma Pita and Hummus. This was probably the most delicious Lebanese food I've had in a long time. The pita sandwich went well beyond the typical lettuce and tomato adding an array of fresh and pickled veggies. If you like spicy, let them put the hot sauce on your sandwich....it was great! The hummus was a generous serving enough for two to share. It was dressed up with some spices, chopped parsley, olive oil and pickled onion bits. There were about 15 tables in the place so it got busy at lunch. I would love to go back at dinner and try their Lamb Kebab.

Great tasting food that is always fresh. My go to is the chicken shawarma on rice and I get it everyday. Highly recommend the rice, its got a great consistency (not dry, not too moist) and I’ve heard from friends that this Winston location in particular is well known for the quality of its rice. The chicken has a nice and “clean” flavour, not overly seasoned but with a good combination of herbs/spices. I’ve tried the beef here as well, but there is usually a bit of a longer wait for the beef (they cook it on demand) so if you’re in a hurry the lunch chicken on rice is definitely the quickest thing on the menu. Also, theres three sauces for this chicken meal (garlic, tahini and mild spicy) and the mild spicy sauce is really quite mild. Overall 11/10, there’s a reason I keep coming back.

Two additional stars just for the staff friendliness and flavour of the food I got (I’ve listened for the advices from them). Two missing stars for the fact that when I was eating the wrap, I felt like a small stone chip in the food, it cracked in between my teeth and the second one for the fact that wrapping paper got stuck to the wrap after grilling it, I think either the paper has to be a better quality, either less to grill, either wrap dough isn’t as good quality.

Unfortunately no where near an authentic shawarma and was fooled by the ratings. First of all, I have never seen Cabbage ever in a shawarma so I am assuming it is cheaper to use. 50% of my sandwich was cabbage. Ridiculous. We use cabbage for cabbage rolls not shawarma :D The person making the sandwich hand counted and picked one by one the other toppings. I asked for extra turnip and he put 1 more turnip. I asked for Fattoush and they made the fattoush out of the Cabbage salad they have precut! What in the world!? Just google some Lebanese recipes before you try to pass this off as Shawarma.

I had the chicken shawarma dinner (with only salad and fries), normally also comes with rice and potato ($19). The portion was perfect for two people but it ended up being 3/4 salad and very little fries. The salad wasn't even that good, it was a ton of plain shredded lettuce with just a couple of pieces of tomato and cucumber (nothing like the pictures on their website). I did not like the garlic and tahini sauces, very watery and tasteless however I did notice they have a different garlic sauce for the shawarma wraps and so maybe it's better. The only part I liked was the chicken, it was shaved right off the pit and tasted really good. This is more of a takeout place with a couple of small tables, it was clean, there is lots of parking and service was quick. Their weekend hours are not correct, I stopped by on Sunday around 8:40pm and they had already closed, although it says open till 10. Overall it was a mediocre experience at best, nothing special.

The manager is there every single day to ensure the great quality provided to the customers, and the team is very performance focused and customer oriented. The quality of the food seem to stay the same and doesn't deteriorate. I would definitely recommend going there.

I have been a long time customer of Chefs Door, before they started up a bunch of different locations. Their service and quality used to be good but it has gone down significantly. They guys preparing the food are rude most times and always inconsistent with their portions. When my wife buys a chicken shawarma plate, she gets a heaping amount of chicken. When I buy the same item, I get about half the amount she would get. This happens all the time (close to 10 times now), hence my review. I am sick of their inconsistency especially when I am paying $16 for a dinner shawarma plate. Maybe I should always send her as they seem to have a sweet spot for women. In my most recent order I found a hair in my shawarma. As you can imagine it is never good when you bite into your shawarma only to find a hair in your mouth. I will not be going back to this place anymore. It is too bad because I used to enjoy them.

I have been going to Chef's Door since the day they opened, and have yet to find a place I love more. They're friendly service and delicious food has kept me coming back for over a decade. I now live 7 hours away in Elliot Lake, but I always find time to make it Chef's Door when I am anywhere near the GTA. Went into the location on Cross last night and was delighted by the buy one get one half off shwarma dinner deal, so I bought 2. One for dinner and one for the trip home. Still tastes exactly the same as it did the first time I went. Truly a hidden gem!

This place used to be really good. Not sure If the management changed but they have become so cheap with the meat toppings (I'm not the only one that thinks so). The shawarmas are mostly fattened up with lettuce and other condiments with tiny bits of meat. I'm boycotting this place until they get it together.

I have been frequenting this location since it's opening over a decade ago and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always immaculate and delicious and it comes at an extremely reasonable price. Over and above their stellar food quality, is their insanely personable staff. I enjoy speaking to them every time I go in. I highly recommend this place over even the "mainstream" shawarma restaurants (whose quality AND quantity does not compare).

Tried this for the first time with my partner. Shawarma is definitely one of those food we look forward to after a gym session. Chef’s Door was filling with good portions of rice and chicken. Although, we were hoping the hot sauce would be a bit spicier.

Favourite shawarma place. They have deals for students and I used to go all the time for lunch. The servers are super friendly and will joke around with you sometimes. Food is excellent, love the shawarma on fries so much. The level of spice is up to you so make sure to not overestimate your tolerance. Overall an excellent place.

I had this place once before years ago, decided to give it a shot as not all chef’s door locations seem to be the same. Two younger gentleman were hustling during a rush. The service was decent enough. The price I paid was not the same as what was on the board for a soup and pita combo. The pita wasn’t quite toasted long enough. The soup was nice and hot, unfortunately too hot. I brought it home to eat and transferred it to a bowl to find the styrofoam container had literally melted on the inside, unfortunately I had to throw it away. Tried to call to let them know but no answer. Might need to think twice before coming here again.

I'm giving two stars because for a long while, I'd say about 5 months ago or so, the service and the food, and the prices were STELLAR. However; in the recent weeks, the service has been less than sub-par, and the quality of the food has declined to match the service. Prices still great, though. My partner went in recently and asked for the sauces on the side, which, we both believe to not be a difficult or impossible task. But the server told him "no", and acted like we requested his SIN number instead of sauce on the side. My partner chucked it up to a bad day for the guy. No big deal. He went back again recently, and asked for his potatoes in a separate container, explaining that he doesn't like when the sauce from the potatoes runs into the rice, salad, etc. He's kind of picky but it is what it is. Again, this caused a massive issue for the gentleman behind the counter. He ended up not giving my partner the extra container. Not sure what the problem is lately, but it's made us go elsewhere for food.
