Around in one form or another since 2003 and run by the same family, the store not only ages their own cheeses but also cures their own meats, and is home to ingredients imported from all over the world.

Charelli's cheese shop is Victoria's first and finest cheesemonger! Tucked into a vintage strip mall on Foul Bay Road, many Victoria natives have driven right by this little deli! Carmen, the proprietor, keeps Charelli's stocked with an astonishing array of cheese and charcuterie, and all the team have an in-depth knowledge of all things cheese! (give them ANY three adjectives and they will come up with three or four samples to suit!). In addition to a wide selection of meats and cheeses, they have a wide selection of hard-to-find spices, oils and specialty culinary ingredients, cocktail bitters and syrups, AND will make you one of the best sandwiches to-go in Victoria! If you need a cheese platter for entertaining guests, be sure to put an order in with Carmen and Nicole - they do spectacular platters on granite slabs!

Delicious! This shop was recommended to us by food industry professionals, and we finally were able to check it! Staff was very helpful, and I liked their choice they offered more than my own! I also noticed imported sweets, and, of course , couldn’t resist ???? These cookies are to die for. Check their ingredients! Yes, the prices are higher but so is the quality. The sign “no photos” felt a bit unwelcome for me since I love to send photos of cool places I’ve found to my Mom. Can’t wait to get back and try more!

This place is awesome. All their in-store items are high quality. You can get everything you want to put on a charcuterie board! I even subscribe to cheeses of the month subscription, and I'm loving it! They also have a take-out window that serves hot fresh lunches. All super delicious at great prices. My favorite is the pulled pork. Their staff is all wonderful too. Highly recommend checking this place out.

What a lovely little cheese shop! They have a wide variety of different cheeses and will sample them if you are unsure what you are going to be buying. I tasted one of the nicest blue cheeses here. They have quality product. There are also a lot of other things in the store like crackers and pasta and entertainment supplies. It's too bad they don't get more traffic because they are definitely worth it

Absolutely terrible customer service. As I was quietly looking at the menu, I was barked at through the takeout window that the business opens at 10 am as if I couldn't read a sign. I left and returned with some friends. After my friend ordered the same sandwich I did, they laughed and asked if it was a joke. Absolutely bizarre behaviour. After a 30 minute wait our sandwiches were ready. They were the best sandwiches I have had in years. If you can tolerate the unprofessional "Karens," and the hideous wait times, you will be rewarded with the best sandwich in town.

We used Charelli's for canapes for Kitchens 4 Missions - a fundraiser at Victoria International Marina - in Sept. 2018. We could not have been more pleased with this team and their incredible spread. Food was perfect, presentations was flawless, and their team were a total delight to work with. And did we mention they only had 24 hours notice to prepare canapes for 150 people!? They are true professionals and there's no one else like them in terms of product and service in Victoria. Can't recommend them enough.

I put 3 stars because the products are good. But the price is outrageous. $90 for 1kg of raclette cheese. Les amis du fromage are already a bit expensive, and they're selling the same cheese for $50 per kg. Although service is good, it's very slow : 20 min to wait after placing the order to get the cheese cut.

This might just speak to expectations, but, given the 'I'd drive from the end of the world to get one of these sandwiches' type reviews, I was expecting a pretty special sandwich. It was just a nice baguette with meat, cheese, and a little mayo and mustard though. Just that and only that. Entirely edible but not what I'd call gourmet. Was it worth $20 for two? My wallet and taste buds agree that it was not. Very random collection of other deli items, but if you're looking for a jar of duck fat, I'd bet this might be one of very few places in Victoria that has it.

They give samples! This is a great spot to get somewhat more exotic cheeses and to inquire about ingredients that can't always be easily found in a grocery store. All of the staff I have spoken to are passionate and interested in cheeses, and have good suggestions of alternatives or other stores that may have what I was looking for. The staff are so friendly I would almost consider going there just to ask what cheese they were most excited about recently. The store also has other fun odds and ends that facilitate or complement the eating of cheese.

Charelli's provided low-effort, short-notice take-out catering of sides for our 20-person wedding and it was exceptional. We made a few simple selections by telephone/e-mail (sight unseen) and picked up the results on our wedding day. Each of the canapes and side dishes that we ordered were absolutely superb. The cheese dish was of exceptional quality and the cake that they arranged for us with Cakes Etc. tasted fantastic. We put a great deal of trust in Charelli's and they blew us away - 100% satisfaction and an excellent value on top of it all.

We received the most amazing gift basket delivered from Charelli's. I have never seen such an interesting, fun and yummy collection of goodies before. All the foods are so original. I hesitate to put them away, just fun to look through them and appreciate the items. One of my favourite places in Victoria. The ladies who run this shop are so generous, thoughtful and accommodating. They have the biggest selection of imported products I’ve seen in the city and their cheese selection is amazing. I miss coming in the store during COVID but so appreciate the steps they’ve made for the safety of customers and the staff. The lineup is worth the wait!! ❤️

Drove all the way from Vancouver to pick up a prize that I won (antipasto platter) , however when i got there I realized I had to preorder it 48hrs in advance. The lady at the counter ( forgot to ask for her name but blonde curly hair) was so rude to me. She told me they could not give me anything right now. The lady next to me said she had been waiting for awhile and that that lady had also been rude to her. Even though she was mean and rude to me I stayed calm and polite and asked if I could just get a bag with some cheese since I drove all the way from Vancouver. She angrily went to the back to ask her boss I assume and then said that was fine. I waited for a bit and eventually someone else came out who was actually nice and gave me the bag. The cheese is good but not worth it for being humiliated infront of everyone as this lady is so rude! You might as well get cheese somewhere else.
