Excellent channa batura! Samosa was good too. Customer service could be better.
Good Indian food & Sweets
Great collection but little too pricey for the way the treat their customers
Sweets, quick eatslike samosa kachori, masalas, Indian pastes.currently Dine in closed
If I could rate it lower than I would have rated 0. Such a worst customer experience. I ordered the food and made a payment. A lady didn't listen to my order properly and didn't charge for the Tea which I ordered. When I asked her for the tea which i already ordered then she repied i didn't order the tea. I thought it might be miscommunication and I asked her to charge me for that and let me buy it again because of minimum10$ charge from cards. *She didn't let me buy tea while an old man standing behind the counter requested her to give me tea.Being a regular customer, i treated like a ............
ok food. Mint sauce is a green paste good for art work.
Mistaan is really good place to eat out. Sweets are bit average but other namkins are so delicious. You definitely, should try chhote bhature, spring roll, kachori and to some extent samosa.
Very good Indian food, with very reasonable price.
bad service they dont even know how to talk with customers not going to visit this place again.
Nice place for a quick Indian punjab meal. Traditional Indian snacks and basic food. Owner is a nice person. Overall looks of the place is average.
Good food
A good place for some Indian lunch with amazing choice of sweets!! The veg thali is great for a try
Good North Indian Thali
Good Indian Sweets
Serving fresh food. If anybody want good and fresh food then Mistaan is a perfect choice to enjoy your meal time.
This is so interesting to sit and observe. As a 4 month old indian in canada, this is a place like in yrf and nri indian movies of the the 90's.
Always consistent taste, one of the few Indian places which provide good food Excellent customer service
Old guy with lot of attitude apart from that food tastes good 3 rating for the food not for the staff
Good Indian veg and non veg food.
Love this little family restaurant. I go at least once a week for lunch.
Samosas are good.
Samosa , pakoras, chola batura and sweets are good . Ordered chicken biryani but that was not good. Won’t order biryani from this place . But other items were very good listed above .
This place is a back up for Samosa's if my other place is packed. This place never has a line up. It is a small place a few tables and chairs in a seating area. I usually take my order and go. But the Samosa's are bigger than normal and they are very good. I have been here a few times if there is an older gentlemen do not expect too much in customer service. He is usually pretty much indifferent to everyone. But other than that this place was pretty reasonable until a few days ago. Now Samosa's are 2 for $1. I have not been for a while but I am pretty sure you got more for your buck. I guess inflation. I don't know if that is the going rate now at other places.
Very good place to get takeout Indian sweets/deserts as well as meals. Have been going here for 20+ years
An average Indian sweets shop. Not cheap. A small attached restaurant is useful for hot snacks.
(Translated) Best Chana Bhatura .... (Original) Best Chana Bhatura....
The best Indian sweets in the city, and the rest of their menu is equally amazing. Totally worth the drive to get there.
Worst food experience in Toronto(infact all lf North America). Rude staff, stale food (pani puris had stale smell), papdi chaat had undercooked potato and no chutney, samosa had zero flavour(boiled potato with salt filling), chhole batura (baturas were reheated so chewy and oily) and same with Paneer pakoda. Only good thing was the overpriced coke can. Wish i could give Zero stars
I recently went to purchase Diwali mitthai from Mistaan. The mitthai was too sweet and did not taste very fresh. Their quality has definitely declined over the years. I will not return to their shop again.
Great options
Puri chana ????????????????????????
Great food, grumpy service
Loved the Channa Bhatoora (Fried pastry served with chickpeas in a delicious mix), and the Shahi Paneer (Fresh cottage cheese, simmered in a creamed tomato gravy) is amazing. Would not recommend the Palak Paneer though, I've definitely had better.

Good
As always, I had a great experience at Mistaan. The sweets I was looking for were readily available and the savory food I wanted was hot and fresh.
Bought 3 different sweets from this shop first and last time..It doesn't taste fresh. Also so shocking that for each transaction less than $10 they take cash only or pay extra $1 if paying by mastercard/visa..I asked owner the reason who very arrogantly said it is not profitable,he said have to pay rent for card machine company..That's weird, why should the customer pay for your card terminal rent. Even if we buy a coffee from a coffee shop for $2 ,we dont pay extra for using card. I would not recommend Mistaan sweet shop to anyone for their poor taste and inappropriate trade practices.
The bedt Indian sweets and paneer pakoras in town
The go to for quick affordable great tasting Indian food.
Awsm food option i like chna bhtura often visit with friends
Worst, yuck, eew! are understatements. Avoid this place even if you have to go hungry for a meal. Ordered channa bhatura and it was so salty that I can’t tell. The halwa that comes with it was definitely stale. Who gets halwa wrong. Had to throw away the food. Plus, their cook walks out to the front without a mask and was touching his face all the time. Hygiene is not something you’ll ever find in this place. Wish I had an option of -1 stars.
Hygiene and ambience can be better
Fantastic Indian food.
The sweets are average in taste, bit on high side of price scale. One gentleman who serves there never smiles to customers, how sad eh!
Best Indian takeout place that I know of.
Service
Very rude owner, who is the old man and usually at the cashier's place. Food is also not that good. Only few dishes taste good
Food is great. Prices are good.
Indian food# Scarborough lol. Obviously Better than India’s taste must try rasmali their rasmali has the nice dip I mean the syrup it’s milky and kind of bulky in texture but if you are storing #not a good idea. Their chicken kharai is ok but I felt like tandoori chicken was made into kharai. Chole bature is good but I guess their idea is to copy Halwa puri because Chole bature is served with gajar#carrot halwa.Over all quite reasonable for what u pay for.
We took 3 veg thalis came out with Walmart's dairy section worth of cream. Pathetic daal nothing to even be said about it Mutter paneer- left me muttering about its terrible taste and quality Malai Kofta- no orange Gulab jamun Tandoori roti- would have been happier eating a chapal Overall terrible taste and quality if you would like thali I suggest Bengali Sweet house
Been coming here for the past seven years. It’s my go to for samosas and veg pakora. I stop in for lunch whenever I get the chance. They have one of the best Chana Bhatura’s I’ve had in the city. Can’t beat the prices either!!
Excellent Indian sweets.
Tasty
Great food
The food is OKay and very affordable. They also have Indian cakes but that's too sweet for me.
Visited this place on a friend's suggestion to try some Indian chaat, the Channa batura was good and the samosa channa was also okay. However the chicken tikka we ordered was simply bad it was dry and tasted bland. The chicken Karahi was a bit better but still not on par with other places when compared. Overall it was a few hits and few misses, haven't tried their sweet dishes though this time around.
We did take out from Mistaan on a Thursday evening. We ordered: Butter Chicken - slightly sweet gravy Chicken Tikka Masala - dry chicken meat, making it tough to eat Saag Paneer - delicious - would reccomend Daal - Kala Daal, but very watery. Aloo Gobi - Had a strange smoky taste Malai Kofta - sweet gravy (same one is used for the Butter Chicken) 8 Naans - we expected Tandoor Naans, and were sadly disappointed
Lunch
Their lamb beryani is absolutely delicious. My favorite spot
Saag was not what I expected. Not a real Punjabi Sarao da saag. The person(seemed to be the owner) behind the cash register had a bad attitude.... Anyone who deals with customers should be required to go through some sort of customer service training. It won't hurt to say "hello" or "how are you today" or " have a nice day". Because of that behavior I didn't order and taste anything else.
Good place to have Indian snacks, I left one start because I found there washroom were not cleaned.
Good place for fresh samosa and other indian snacks.
If you are looking for nice indian snacks it's good to visit. Worth for the price.
Gulab Jamun has less ..sweet solution. I personally felt it very very dry. Thats not how Julab Jamun is Supposed to be. Samosas are okay. They need to inform people that its less sweet or deliberately made it for pre diabetic people. Thank you.
Worst Customer Service ever. The guy serving do not care about the customers at all and he is incredibly rude. I use to come to this place occasionally but I will make sure not to visit here ever here.
Nice Bengali sweets and samoosa
Biryani is amazing. Sweets and Snacks are great too.
Nice taste
Lamb Biryani...tasty, but Lamb not soft, a few tough pieces. Would love to reorder...hopefully you will correct Chicken Biryani...tasty, would reorder this.
Love love love this food. Usually go with co workers and get a thali. It's amazing food. So much food for so little price. Will go there again and again. Highly recommend.
Paneer Pakora and Milk cake is amazing. I love coming here for their samosas as well.
Lip smacking sweets
Some of the best Indian fare in North York. The place is clean and serves variety of food (all of which is delicious). Must visit if you are looking for some good Indian food.
From the moment you arrive in that place the stuff gives you a pleasant feeling. Very warm hosts, it is a good restaurant to pass time with your friends or with your date. very good cooking, professional chef, modest pay and excellent service. Warmly recommended.
One of the tastiest Indian restaurants in that area
Affordable and tasty restaurant
Looks decent, clean. Bought samosa and it was fresh and good.
Good food at a good price! All your favourite Punjabi dishes and snacks in one place.
I ordered Naan kebab and it was one of the best kebab, very soft and juicy.
Best chai in town.
The food is k, nothing special. The sweets are awesome. But the customer service is very bad. The people working there don't care, it's almost as if they are doing a favor if you order something. Also attitude problem.
Decent food, clean shop. Cashier was not very friendly though.
Ok ok food
Delicious. We tried halwa puri and chole bhature.
Very bad place and horrible customer service. If you order biryani they will mix rice and regular curry. Will not recommend at all. Although samosas were good.
Clean and affordable Bengal/Indian food place.
Good food but little sweet
We ordered Samosas, Butter Chicken and Naans. Samosas were fine. It had a crunchy crust and the filling was good. However, the Samosa were cold and therefore not appetizing to eat. The butter chicken gravy was thick but had a too much tomato base to it and the chicken pieces were pink( if i am not wrong that means it's raw). The Naans were so cold that i felt my hands were warmer in the snow. When these issues were communicated to the staff behind the counter. She went and told it to a guy (presuming to the owner) who came and started arguing. According to him, Naans are done in 2 mins so we got fresh hot Naans and he started arguing. Eventually after mumbling few bad words which being an Indian i knew what it meant, he went and got "fresh" naan in 2 mins and 24 seconds.
I ordered kajurools and they packed rasgulas instead and worst thing it was terrible. Always check before you pay.
“Zero stars” this place doesn’t worth a single star. The food quality is very very bad had order some sweets it was so terrible couldn’t eat more than one and it was my biggest mistake, sweet was contaminated due to that I suffered a lot. I am pretty sure those sweets were sitting there more than a week. They need to change the chef at the earliest. Even service staff needs to change the old sweets in the shelf time to time. I strongly believe they don’t have any shelf life for the sweets they will sell it until it gets over they don’t care about customers health. I don’t have receipt other wise I would have complain about this store.Lesson learned “never throw the receipt”
Delicious food with reasonable price!!
I work close by sometimes and got in here to try their chai (tea). Made to order Machine brewed, contactless chai (strong cardamom tea) is top of the list to try. They also serve lunch specials both veg and non veg.
Affordable and delicious
Excellent Indian sweets and savoury items. I have been going there since 1995 and always a very satisfying experience. Highly recommend it.
Good service tasty food
Best place for indian food and chana batura
I celebrated my nomination last night in this great place. happy to tell that we enjoyed a awesome evening and the restaurant was indeed one of the reasons for that successful celebration. The crew contributed in a splendid way, the meals were very good and my buddies were very happy. We shall absolutely come back again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
For authentic Indian wife variety dishes & sweets.
This place is known for their sweets not their food. Horrible tandoori chicken, no flavour at all.
Bengali sweets are pretty good.
Mistaan Catering and Sweets is a great little Indian restaurant. It is a little hidden away but it is very worthwhile. They have a range of Indian sweets as well as a great Indian takeout/eat in restaurant. Service is very fast, the food is very good and the prices are quite reasonable. Worth a detour if you are in the neighbourhood.
Very decent priced take out .... Like their sweets as well, recommend kalakand
Daily meal place. One and only place for indian food in miles.
It was a nice quiet place. The salted lassi was amazing. My search for authentic chole bathure is still on. This one was great but was more like home made, not the thick dark gravy chole with potato and cheese chunks In it ????. They have some great Indian snacks including samosas, Spinach fritters and more. If in the area you must give a visit.
Samosas are amazing
They serve big dishes and for fair pricing. super friendly employees. I recommend this place.
This is a nice place for economical food, it seems the chef was different this time and the Malai kofta was not as good as the last time
Good for Indian food
A reliable, healthy, and clean place that serves authentic and very delicious Indian food and sweets! Prices are reasonable, and it is a family run business! Don't hesitate to try their Ras Malai, Chana Bhatura, Chicken Kebabs, Garlic naan, Tandoori Roti, lamb or chicken Biryani, Lamb Saag (Spinach curry), lamb Roghan-Josh, kadahi paneer, chana samosa, papri chaat, thalis and more! My Family and I consistently go there since past more than 12 years. We have never been dissappointed to date. They have 5 tables to eat-in. They also offer Party Catering.
Have tried only the Chole Bature here and they are awesome. Samosa wasn't great. They charge for chutneys. Like someone said customer service with a smile can be a tad better..
I would recommend you guys to try Samosa, they are good. Also batura was fresh and tasty ....but I did not like chole, you can make out chole was prepared using chat masala...
My go to place for indian food and sweets.
Good chana batura
Reasonably priced, food is good. Always make it a point to order take out when I am in the area.
Meal type
The food is good, some of the sweets are a bit on the sweeter side, but the prices are a bit high
Really good tasting food.
They have a lot of options to eat and the food is tasty too and inexpensive
Samosas are crispy but not the best tasting. Red jalebi is decent.
Fantastic butter chicken.
We tried the Chicken Biryani, butter chicken, samosas, curry chicken, and paratha. Parathas were burnt and seemed made sloppily. Everything else was good
Really nice Indian food and sweets.. especially their week day lunch Thalis...
They offer a vast variety of delicious food. I enjoy eating here. Staff members are always very welcoming, pricing is fair and the spot is always clean.
I used to love their Biriyani untill a few months after their opening the quality seemed to drop and we got half cooked meat in the biriyaani and the guy in the counter treated us as if we owed him some money ! The worst customer service i ever had in Canada ! Well things changed now ! Or i hope it did. I went there over a weekend and had this delicious Chena Batura. And top top it they had Kulfi - I would ask aeveryone to try it , its that good ! The staff at the counter had a pleasing personality. I assume they relisized what need to be done and did good.
Was here 23rd May and terrible customer service, man behind counter refused to talk and answer questions I excused his actions as he must be having a bad day
Poor quality of food and unprofessional customer service.
I like their foods especially Chicken Biriyani; awesome. I tried almost every foods there and all are good.
This place provides excellent service as well as enjoyable food. The best place ever. The meals served fast and the rates are inexpensive. I recommend this place.
Below par take away place. Rude and dishonest staff.
G[good food
Affordable and tasty food
Love the food at this location. I often order ahead and pick it up for dinner.
Service
Nice small place with many varieties of items.Taste is really yummy.Service is quick.
Experience was horrible , they don’t have fresh chicken , tried butter chicken , it was so pathetic and stale .
Service
Small place but good food.
Good indian cusine.
I only ever got samosas from here. Samosas are cheap and great.
Take out
Channa samosa was the saviour however it was still missing authentic flavour and the biryani can’t even be called biryani. It was more like a Indian chicken curry on rice.
Good food
Their samosas are legendary. Curries are all very good too. Make sure to get the naan when it's fresh around lunch time or you'll end up with something stale. Also be aware that they close early at times around 7:30pm. Can't comment on the sweets, have not had them. Overall great place and good value. Would recommend this place to eat!
Good food with reasonable price.
Consistently wholesome & great tasting dishes, at reasonable prices ...
A very grumpy and rude owner. Products average, overpriced.
Bengali treats and sweets. Their thalis are also good.
The best Indian sweets in town
Nice place for North Indian snacks and sweets
Great choice of Indian sweets.
Great food. Seems like it's gotten better, but the seating sucks. Cafeteria style swatting with no extra chairs
We the chaat items pani puri and chaat papdi and both were delicious and had that street food taste. Will surely come back to try other items too on the menu.
I love the fact that it's near to my place. This is the closest Indian restaurant for me. Right now they do not offer dinein, but otherwise you can sit and order here. Food is good as well. You will get options pretty good when it comes to variety. They also have snacks and stuff apart from the kitchen. You can also find sauces of various types.
Not great taste
Value for money Indian/Bangladeshi food joint. Love their vegetarian biryani; tastes great and easily a meal for two all for $8. Range of popular traditional Indian sweets. Best for take outs but for a group they can only sit four together. Service is usually quick even during rush hours.
Love the cleaness of the store..sweets look Devine . Samoas 2 for dollar..love the deal..highly recommended
Went Thursday for Diwali sweets. Masks required by patrons which is expected however servers behind counter not wearing masks while hand picking the sweets. Secondly no one controlling number of people in store, customers packed in like sardines (as no one wants to wait outside) No proper direction on in and out so again rubbing shoulder to shoulder. Placing the government covid signs does not do anyone any good if don’t have someone enforcing them. Your not a small unknown shop any more. If you’re to maintain business then schedule the adequate number of employees in your establishment. It is the irresponsibility of south Asian stores like this that give all of us a bad reputation.
Closed at 7:55 when sign said 8:00 :( love this place but closing early without note on why is bad business.
Menu is fairly limited but probably enough for everyone to find something they like.
Great taste for Indian food lovers Location is bit odd however the food is tasty and price is reasonable. Can get 5 starts only if the service is also up to the mark. Need to put some extra efforts on servicing
Very good vegetable samosas that are made fresh on location as well as pakoras. Excellent vegetarian items.
Love their sweets worth travelling far for. Been going here for years
Wide collection of sweets
Simple place with great food. Lunch for under 10 bucks and it's always more than you can eat.
fresh made. reasonable price. tasty.
For the price, can't be beat. Best North Indian take-out food on this side of the GTA!
Tasty food at reasonable prices.

Service
Been here only once and tried the Chana bhatura which was pretty good
As someone who has been going to Mistaan for literally the last 20+ years I went again recently and was very disappointed. Firstly, the good things; the samosas were tasty as always. The cons were as follows: the Channa Bhatura which tasted like it had way too much garam masala in the channa but at the same time was bland. We had to pour imli chutney on it to add some flavour. We also ordered a non-veg thali with the meat dish being the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was just fine but not too tasty. Along with that thali I got mattar paneer which didn't taste at all like it should. I didn't even end up finishing it. I may give it another few months before I try Mistaan again.
Very poor organizational skills of the staff
One of the best restaurant, really delicious food. ????????????????????????
Great food and decent prices. Love the chai, samosas and channa batura. Some staff are more friendly than others. Smile please :)
I really like their saag and Makki di roti and also bought some gulab jamun which were not tasty. I had to throw them.
Been coming here for takeout for the past 5 years at least and were never disappointed. The food is always good, the prices are great and it’s very convenient. Well done guys!
The food was good and service was excellent and quick.
Must try chana batura.., rasmalai..
If u want misti dani and good quality sweets.... better place in Scarborough
Good .
Surprisingly delicious samosas since we had to change over to this location and enjoyed Mistaan catering samosas!!! We were able to provide samosas for apitizers as usual. Thank you for having awesome food! You saved our family's favorite apitizers for all our family events!!!!
Take out
Good
Good food
Good Price though Avg. quality of food. One could get pretty better in the same price range.
(Translated) Chana samosa (Original) Chana samosa
I am a big fan of Indian food and Mistaan does not disappoint. This is essentially mostly a takeout counter more than a restaurant although they do have some fast food like tables to sit at. The Butter Chicken is very good, they make a decent Salty lassy and their samosas are very affordable. And a huge selection of sweets!
The best Naans in the GTA. Their veg and non veg thali is great for a working lunch. We cater from them for parties. The malai kofta is deliciously creamy. The kaju barfi is among the best there is. The owners standing behind the cash register aren't the most smiley folks but service is fast and tastes great.
Great Service
Simple and yummy food! Loved the samosa and channa bhatura!
Got snacks and sweets, desserts selection is nice aswell.
Dine in
Best Channa bhatura in town
Lunch
Amazing food. We had chicken curry and chicken saag with tandoori roti. Also a cup of masala chai. Everything was finger licking delicious. And the best part is the food is so cheap as compared to other Indian cuisine restaurants in terms of quantity and quality.
I have been very frequent to this place and every time I have visited the quality of the food has always been the same (5 stars) I have almost tried most of the items from their menu and just love everyone of them. One of the best places to get Indian Dishes & sweets. I would definitely continue to get their sweets and food item occasionally. It is certainly not a date kind of place but if you are looking for good tasty food this place is for you.
Had a fantastic experience in this spot with my friend. The food was served quickly and the service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.
Amazing Butter Chicken and Veg. Pekoras. Love this place with a passion.
Tasty Indian food and Sweets. I love this place. Prices are reasonable, Good quality and Clean. Seating available too.
Tasty samosa
I get to eat here a lot since I work close by. I like how their customer service is always excellent and they keep the spot well kept at all times. Rates are fair and they serve big portions.
You know those tin cans of saag they sell at no frills, well they just take that out warm it up maybe add something to make it oily and serve it to you, i couldn't believe what i was eating they didn't even put salt in it, just amazing
This place never fails me. Try butter chicken. Chicken biryani is highly recommended as well.
Got sick twice. Not a very clean place
Used to love this place. They increase the price every now and then and consistently decline the food and sweet quality. I used to visit them every week for past 5 years, now only visit if I feel lazy to drive. Besan ladoo taste raw. Motichur laddo is stale. Chicken sheek kebab size is shrinking (wont be surprised if it becomes nugget size) even after price increase. Samosa is always bland and pretty expensive given the size and filling. Pakodas are always cold. Kalakand, Sandesh are watery to intentionally increase weight as sweets are sold by weight. All items are expensive given the quality. The senior owner is always grumpy. The way they are managing the store I am sure they lost loyal customers like us. There are much better options in Scarborough with less or similar pricing and way better quality.
We go here because they have fantastic vegetarian samosas fresh every day. Sometimes I get them just for us, and sometimes for parties. They are reasonably priced and one hundred times better than anything you can find in a grocery store. I hope they never change their samosas. Depending on how big you are, just 3-5 will fill you up like an entire meal!
I celebrated my nomination earlier this evening in this great place. Well we had a magnificent evening and the place was surely the reason for the successful evening. The waiters cooperated in a splendid way, the cooking was appetizing and my buddies were very delighted. We shall definitely visit again for more events. thanks very much.
Good Indian food
Quick Service...Amazing Food Chana Bhatura & Shahi Paneer Both are 10/10
Wont even give this place 1 star had I had the chance. Poor customer service, combined with poor quality items. The old man in the counter treats you as if you owed him your kidneys. They talk very rudely when you request them anything and I have experienced this everytime I went there. These guys try their best to make things as inconvenient as it can possibly get! They dont take debit or credit under $10. So carry cash if you're going for a quick snack. Food is very bad, oily ,flavorless, unhygienic and expensive. Overall subpar experience! Not recommended.
They want cash only
Good food and sweets. Service can be a bit slow.
EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD, I AM LOVING IT
Bought sweets for Diwali... fresh and very tasty. Loved it..will buy again
We came to this restaurant for a meeting. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.
(Translated) Nice Indian restaurant. Modest but tasty food and reasonable prices (Original) Хороший индийский ресторан. Скромно,но еда вкусная и цены достаточно приемлемые
We tried here last night for the first time and the food was decent. As I order more, will provide an updated review. Samosa - 5* Rasamalai - 4.5* Misthi Doi - 5* Pani Puri - 4.5* Goat Biryani - 3.5* Chicken Biryani - 3.5* Biryani is not typical biryani and I am not very sure if this is how biryani is made in Bengal. Despite that, it is way better than some places I have tried. Update:- Kaju Barfi - 5* Veg Pakora - 3.5* Rasagulla - 4.5* Tandoori Chicken - 4.5* (would have given 5* if red color was avoided.) Non-veg Thali - 3.5*
Tasty food. Little higher on the price.
Ordered Makki roti and saag.....very average! Saag portion was so small.
Fast and Delish ????
Not fresh food and sweets. Very few items are worth eating. Expensive as well as there are not many places for Indian food nearby.
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.Indian sweets!!! Cannot beat the quality!!
Good Indian food at a very affordable price.
This place has been open for decades. The food is always good. Don't understand why they charge extra for samosa sauce if you are ordering samosas.
Food is very delicious
Best for take out. Very limited seating. Good food, decent price.
It's a great place to have Indian cuisine. The food is tasty, hygienic and affordable.
Take out
From the first moment you step in this place the stuff gives you an agreeable feeling. Very warm stuff, it is a nice restaurant to hang out with friends and colleagues or with your date. enjoyable food, experienced chief cook and stuff, competitive cost and professional service. Warmly recommended.
Really great food, you can eat there or take it home.
Good food Indian sweets
Good food with reasonable prices.
Great service and mouthwatering tasty food
The website says they are open until 8pm. Went there for a takeout at 7:40 PM and the management says they are open only until 7:30PM. They should better value other peoples time and update the website too. Pathetic customer service.
Sweets are just perfect
I go to Mistaan for Bengali Sweets and Chole Bhature. Recently tried Veg Meal - A big disappointment. First no choice of any vegetables / Dal. Got Mater Paneer, Kofta Curry and Dal - Non of them was fresh - Reheated in Microwave. Kofta was still cold. Further Naan and Rice also Not fresh. I presume same must be the case with Non Veg Meal.
Good price quantity quality and of course taste!!
Always serve fresh food.
Great food with very reasonable prices
I love this place for their chole bhatura and non spicy samosas (for which they are really popular) among other eats. Lots of Indian/bengali sweetmeats among other tea time snacks..
Pretty good food
I really like the food and their fast service. The food is really good and fresh. I appreciate the efforts of the whole team members either working as a cashier or cook. Thanks alottt for this delicious food.
Good rasgulla and rasmalai and samosas. Samosas are dry and not oily at all. I am not fan of samosa but would go here if i want one. Pani puri is not good at all
Location is weird, but food is pretty good for the price. Their chole bhature aren't spicy, just the way I love it! ????
Great place for Indian food. Little pricy than others but good quality of food.
I thoroughly enjoyed chole bhature and paneer paratha. It was served with yummy pickle ,chutney, curd and portion of gajar halwa. Just loved it .
Absolutely a spot worth stopping by, the food is great and fresh, the rates are reasonable and it is regularly well organized here. Keep it up.
Cheap and cheerful place to pick up a quick bite. Tasty too
Yummy food with lots of veggie options too.
I gave them a 3 star as it’s a hit and miss with this place. Their samosas aren’t bad, they aren’t amazing. The filling could use more flavour. However they are the best option compared to other samosa places in the area. Their sweets are overpriced I find, and quality is ok. Their pakoras are always fresh! So I will come back for those.
Samosas are really good
Ordered lamb biryani. The portion is big. However, the meat was dry and so was the rice. Flavor was good. I think the staff can be a little bit more friendly.
All good. Found everything I wanted to buy.
I am only giving 5 stars because of the rosogollas (will that's how a Bengali pronounces it). I have been there many times but got lucky with the fresh ones couple of times and they are absolutely the closest to what we get in Kolkata. We usually heat it for 20 seconds and it melts in your mouth.
Home like , clean and yummy food.
Authentic North indian food at a reasonable price. Chole bathure and samosa's are the best in area
Best Tikka roll which I ever had.. Good place near office area.. Love to visit it when ever I can.. affordable prices
Best Indian food
Great food and delicious sweets at very reasonable prices.
Tried this spot before with my friend and I am addicted since then. I enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere and fresh food and beverages. Keep up the good work.
Simple homely food.
Love the chicken Tikka masala! Very quick service.
Good Sweets
This spot gives great service and delightful menu. The best restaurant around here. The meals arrived quickly and the prices were affordable. Recommended.
This is one of the worst East Indian food I had to endure. Malai kofta was stale and the gravy was a sugar tomato syrup, saag was bland and pasty without any spice, rice was a few days old and reheated, mattur paneer overly salty and peas were uncooked, naan were more than a few days old like cardboard and taste was the same. Also they failed to give any desert..If I could I would give it less than 1 star. My personal recommendation, fill your cravings elsewhere. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Clean and food is fresh and tasty.
Good food, really popular for chole bhature. Must try
Update - came back here few days after labour day for more samosas and sweets. The samosas are now $0.75 cents each …. Ordered 1lb of motichoor ladoo- it was good. So came here because I have heard a lot about this place through others - aunties in the area of course :) ** there was no halal signs so cannot confirm if the meat was halal and I only ordered vegetarian. So - I ordered 10 samosas. 2 Chanda Bhatoora. 0.5lbs of mixed barfi. Bill was $25 The samosas - pretty darn good. Will highly recommend. The barfi - was just okay. Maybe a little overly sweet for my taste. But my parents loved it. Overall, Neither so great neither so horrible. I mean for $10/lb maybe I was expecting more? Now these channa Bhattura - hardest review to explain. I personally did not like the Channas. They have this different taste that I could not acclimate myself too. BUT the parents Loved it ????????♀️ they enjoyed having that different unique masala taste. Maybe hence all the auntie referrals! Bhattura were fresh but oily. Honestly - they should have samplers out front lol The store also sells a lot of items on the side - I was going to grab a few but when asked they seem more expensive compared to just picking them up from another store. Ex. Pani poori box was $5.00. I can buy the exact same box. Same brand. Same size from Indian grocery for $2.50. There are barely any prices on the items so you gotta ask. Location was clean. It was busy. Initially the customer service wasn’t that great. Just too busy and trying to accommodate. I made my order first but wasn’t served first. But then once My order was completed. The individual did apologize. So I do appreciate it.
My favorite is their rasgullas and tea masala of Nirav that they have. I get alot of compliments for tasty masala tea that I make.
Decent placed to have Indian food , Specially chana bhatura tastey, good samosas and sweets
Best samosas that's for sure. The chicken biryani I have bought twice and both times the chicken still had a little bit blood.
Good food
Excellent
By far the best quality Indian Food & Sweets
Terrible service
Tried the Samosa, is quite good. 2 for $1. They have lot of Indian sweets. Laddu was good
Tried their lamb biriyani, chicken biriyani, butter chicken, samosas and pakoras Their lamb biriyani is the best. The meat is very tender. The gravy in the rice is just the perfect amount. It also includes 1 or 2 large chops of potatoes. The chicken biriyani is good too. But not the best I had. Samosas contain small cubes of potatoes. Pakoras are made of vegetable. Both are okay for an evening/late morning snack. However butter chicken is not recommended at all. It was very tasteless and most of the taste was sweet.
Okay service but not so bad
Neat and clean ambience, excellent service and above all this ,enormous mouth watering food taste
Meal type
Rude service, servers don't wear masks and the person taking orders doesn't listen and blames customers for his mistakes. Food is decent, sweets are good.
Excellent food, Samosas were delicious as well as my first time having paneer pakora they were great. And you got to get a box of trears Thank you
Good food at affordable price.
Good service, good food, 25 year iam going ther
Been going to Mistaan since early 1980s. Never disappointed! Best samosas, fabulous sweets and their chicken biryani is the only one my children will eat. Have had them cater numerous events. Just recently started ordering their cardamom chai - delicious!!! I highly recommend them.
The food use to be good. They made the portions much smaller and the quality has dropped as well. Today I but butter chicken with very few chicken pieces. No bread or rice came with food and no cutlery they put in the take out bag.
This is the same place our parents always came to buy us treats. Now it is renovated and just as clean and delicious.
I had lunch here few times. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. The special dish on Saturday 'Makki ki roti and saag' was so delicious. I highly recommend it. Must try it!
Love it
Their Butter chicken, naan, samosas and customer service is amazing!!!
Great snacks. Great food
I ordered karahi mutton as it was mentioned as the speciality of this restaurant. I would say it was the worst karahi mutton that i had in my whole life. It was too oily, wasn’t cooked properly and the veggies were not chopped off well. Felt like their chef doesn’t even know what kahari mutton actually is. Won’t recommend this place to anyone at all.
For the price, you get what you pay for. Cheap price and mediocre meals good for filling you up. Best meal is the Chana Batura. The sweets are good. Customer service is generally low, there is no acknowledgement, they talk about you amongst each other in front of your face in their language, unless if you're a White person then it appears you get different better treatment.
Sweets are NOT fresh anymore, owner unfriendly, they do not give you proper attention, while serving you they keep talking to others, I felt very rejected, will not and never visit again!
Good choice of sweets and other items. Enjoyed masala tea.
A girl usually working on the counter is so rude. No complaint with food quality but she should learn the manner. Rest of the staff is good including two gentlmen.
Great place to buy indian mithai. Their samosas are good too. Service is very slow though.
Great prices and the food is delicious
Dinner
If you're looking for a taste of india this place is perfect
The samomas, pakoras and other snacks were yummy but cold!
Best for indian food. Wide variety of stuffs are available at affordable prices.
Something you find in the forest ... Indian food and sweets
Chicken biryani was flavorful and good but the butter chicken was kinda messy in the box and you had to dig through all that rice to get through it.
Yummy biryani rice dish
We ordered chicken Tikka and we got oven roasted chicken and it tasted like boiled. I used to eat and order from here but over the last few months the quality of food has deteriorated. I am not sure if they have changed the cook or something but they need to fix this issues.
Their paneers, samosas and pasteries are delicious! Great service and staff.
Extremely bad food and experience. The person at the order station was uninterested and brash. The food was bland and in the case of samosas it tasted spoilt. Cleanliness was average are best and food even worse. Will never go again and suggest that no one else does too. Hard avoid at all costs.
I found hair in samosa... customer service is worst at this place... lady with glasses is very very rude
Loved the chola bhatura, came with a side of gajar ja halwa and tamarind onion green chilli.
Average
They did help to solve the problem even though it took very long to fix a minor problem
Amazing variety of Indian snacks and sweets
Great food ...????
Good
Had their veg pakora and Jalebi. Both items were fresh and delicious. Only complaint is they have closed their dining area.
Went there after long time. Picked up samosa, pakoras..very good..want them to do better and keep the standards high.
Sweet are good
This spot simply knows how to please their customers. Always with a welcoming attitude. The food is affordably priced, constantly tasty and neat.
Good food, and decent prices. Gotta watch the servers though. Maybe they forgot my order, because they didn't give me some items or wrong quantities. Eventually, they had to go back to their receipt to confirm my order, and I only ordered 5 items. Will go back again, though.
Nice Indian sweets
Horrible customer service. Wrong order was sent and no accountability, no apology.
Besides the popular samosas Mistaan good South Asian food at affordable prices. Try the weekend specials too. I make it a point to drop by whenever I'm in the area, be it even for chai and snacks.
Nice sweet dreams
Best chicken curry
Affordable price, food, service, timings and options
Good butter chicken and samosa
always got sick having there food
Best channa bhature.
Great place to have daily food for students/bachelor, value for money and Good quality N Test!
Owner is to cold towards customers unless it is his regulars
Good Indian food at reasonable rates. Food is hygienic and of good quality.
They are very good. You can dine in or take out.
Good fresh low oil content snacks
I love their Mawacake Sweet! That's the only thing I end up getting when I am in the area. I got some today as a matter fact. ???? great service. Okay food, I have had better food elsewhere.
I ordered Pani Puri, Samosa and Bhajiya. Pani Puri was not at all to the mark. Samosa and Bhajiya were pretty decent. Not a good place for Indian chaat. Below is the picture which shows the Pani Puri masala which is just cube potatoes and Chickpeas in a sweet chutney.
The lady and the man I usually see have very good customer service, the environment is always neat and their foods are quite tasty....I give them a big thumbs up for that....lol
Not a good service and food was just ok
We love to go out. Last night we found this magnificent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We spent a delightful time there with excellent cooking and an experienced crew and a talented chef. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall certainly go again soon. We deeply recommend.
Love the food here!
Nice Indian good
Nothing special. Cash and carry concept
Good food. Reasonably priced. My favourite is the Chole Bhatura!
Mentioned ghee 100% pure ,but it is added flavor ghee
Good food for great prices. This morning however I walked in to get some samosas. I was asked to wait five minutes which I was more than happy to do. When they finally came out I ordered two for $1. The man behind the counter muttered "oh my god" under his breath and tossed the paper bag of samosas on the counter. His expression made his displeasure apparent. As mentioned the food is good and more than worth the money, but the customer service can be abyssmal. I'm sure I was the first customer that day and felt like my money wasn't good enough for him.
Great samosas. Reasonable price, always stocked. Large samosa, with good filling. Other dishes available as well. There is seating for eat in and they do lots of take out. have been visiting for years.
Got some samosa after trusting the google reviews . Not worth it, thet were cold.
Good food!
Amazingly awesome and fresh. We tried different places in the GTA and this place is definitely the best. I love sweets so it's easy for me to rate then 5/5 but the reason they got awesome review from me and others in the past is because everyone is able to notice the difference in quality, quantity and value. Their prices are very modest. The service was good (not a typical restaurant set up, more like cafe) but the sweets are the best. Rest of the stuff is okay. I didn't get to try a whole lot of other food. July 3rd 2017, Another visit! It's the same consistency and same quality. Definitely a must try place.
*Excellent quality *Excellent taste *Excellent service *Variety of sweets *Variety of farsan and other items
Great Indian sweets and good take out Indian food. A little area to eat in also.
They sell Fresh and good quality sweets .. specially Bengali sweets which are rare to find in Scarborough, reasonably priced with good staff.
A good place to hangout for Indian food, nice and humble place ????????
Not fresh food!
Meal type
Small restaurant but great food. The chane bhature here is a must try!
Great sweets, and snacks. Veg bhaiya is my favourite.
Good Indian food options for lunch
Ordered food from Mistaan catering for the first time and honestly I’m 200% satisfied with their quality of food and service. The price they are charging for chicken curry is lowest in town as compared to flavourful taste and huge quantity. I feel this is so much convenient for students to get food at cheaper price.
Excellent Food - Excellent Service Best Food And Rasmalai In G .T
Awesome as always. Great prices for the samosas. Sweets are so good. Threw in 6 free pakoras for forgetting it from the order.
Very delicious food
Very good South Asian sweets shop carries Bengali rasgulla and dahi. Samosas almost as good as back home.
