This is the go to place for BBQ in North Bay, hands down. The staff and owner are awesome people, the location is good with rear access to the main downtown parking lot, and the atmosphere is comfortable and nice. Most importantly the food I had was bomb, I can't wait to try the rest of their menu. I second what some of the other reviewers are saying in that the naysayers are just that, naysayers! Definitely give this spot a try, no new business is perfect off the hop and this place is definitely standing in a good spot to be THE BBQ place in town. I don't mean to ruffle the feathers of some other businesses in town, but it's my honest opinion!

Very disappointing.... I ordered a full rack of ribs & wings. The ribs came back ICE cold & not to mention it tasted like liquid smoke. I couldn't tell the difference in taste between the ribs and wings, it all just tasted like liquid smoke. Felt like I smoked a pack of cigarettes afterwards. Only positive about this experience was our waiter was super friendly and provided really good service. Would not recommend.

Second time going, got the Tuesday special, half a rack of ribs, two big pieces of fried chicken and two sides FOR FIFTEEN DOLLARS! Amazing deal. Everything tasted great, service was top tier, good vibes all around. Instantly my new favorite place to eat downtown if I'm gonna actually sit down and have a meal. I will start by saying I absolutely love the food and service at Lou Dawg's! But I wanted to share just how amazing the service really is. A few weeks ago I ordered dinner for me and my kids through Skip the Dishes. Food arrived and my kids food was missing. Called the restaurant (because Skip takes no responsibility for the contents). Apparently there was a computer error because the restaurant only received half my order (they showed me what came in). The other half was nowhere to be found (and Skip charged me for it). Obviously I was disappointed because my kids had no food and if I had to place another order, I would have to pay the delivery fee again. The owner told me not to worry. He said he would ensure we got the balance of my order. He asked me what I ordered. I told him. Twenty minutes later, the owner shows up with the rest of my order, and a pound of wings on the house for the inconvenience. Now that is amazing service! This is my first ever Google Review. Thought it would be fitting to go out of my way to leave one. Thanks Lou Dawg's!

The seating is a bit awkward , and benches not comfortable to eat at ...I had the brisket crunch wrap which was fantastic paired with sweet potato fries which were mediocre at best , I wouldn't order those again....my friend loved her pulled pork and coleslaw and baked beans, she was not a fan of the sweet potato mash ( which looked more like hand mashed butternut squash as it was stringy) ...I tried her beans and have to say they were very good and I am not really a fan in general , but they were good ...we laughed at her bun because it looked like a regular hamburger bun...I would return to try something else at a later date... the advertising for the restaurant opening was slim and lacking also ... many I know still have no clue it is there and open....I love that you can access back door as an entrance being able to utilize a well lit parking area....as the underground parking across the street is super sketchy after dark...

Far too much favouritism towards certain costumers. The atmosphere wasn’t so welcoming because the manager kept returning to the same tables to hang out. We were served after a few other people who came in after. The waitress was sweet but the manager was giving us rude looks all night.

I had the worst experience with my boyfriend at this Lou dawgs location after ordering take out of a couple small poutines, the staff and management were anything but professional. And the food took an hour after being waited to even come. And once we did receive the food the front house manager Frankie Dupont was there to give us a disapproving look. How dare you judge me or my boyfriend. This is a real disappointment considering I was one of the head bartenders until my boyfriend posted a review of his experience. I wouldn’t go back there even if it was the last place to go in north bay. A much better recommendation would be The Moose Cookhouse just down the road. Better staff and better food!

Great experience all around. My wife and I visited Lou Dawg's for a 10th anniversary date night. The service was great, the food was plentiful and excellent. Prices looked very reasonable. The atmosphere was great and we timed it just right that we finished supper as the live music started. I wish I could tell you about dessert but we were both too full to consider any. The only negative thing was my wife didn't like her smoke infused salad dressing, I thought it was different and good. We didn't bring it up with the server(I ate it), I'm confident they would of exchanged it had we asked. We'll be back!

Lou Dawg's is exactly what North Bay needed! A fantastic Southern BBQ restaurant with a great menu and wonderful atmosphere. After trying multiple items on the menu, I can honestly say that the food is amazing and obviously freshly prepared. Everything that I have tried so far has been fantastic. All of the staff is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend Lou Dawg's North Bay to anyone looking to have a great meal and a great time.

I even questioned like Gordon Ramsay as a Inuk version, haha, if the chicken was frozen, the server was honest and when I ate my chicken burger, was so fresh, and the potato salad was perfect not too hard and not soggy. There is no reason for food ordered right before a dinner rush to be cold. Even if bbq is reheated it should be hot when it's handed to the customer. Sauce was poured on ribs cold and thick. Underside of ribs still had membrane and no rub or sauce, just gray meat rubber. Chicken wings were alright for the smoke flavour, but just tastes of black pepper otherwise. Fries smell and taste identical to Swiss which isn't bad, I guess? Pickle spears breading fell off. Pretty terrible experience overall!

Food is mediocre at best and over priced. Servers and manager are inattentive and make excuses about a "soft opening" that has been going on for months. Newsflash frankie, a soft opening is one day, maybe a weekend, you don't get to use it to excuse your incompetence indefinitely.

I ordered takeout recently and it was absolutely disgusting. I had high expectations because I’ve heard many people say good things, but it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was so wet? The fried chicken, wings, and tator tots all tasted fishy. The only thing that was eatable was the fries. Everything else I threw out after a few bites. Also wayyyy too expensive for what you receive. $18 for the 2 meat and 2 sides, very small portions. I will never eat there again and will never recommend to anyone. Very disappointing.

Very good prices- my wife and I got more food than we could possibly eat for $40. We ordered the sampler plate. Ambiance was nice, they were super Covid friendly, and our waitress was amazing. The food is excellent. Cornbread muffins were sooo good- the jackfruit was surprisingly tasty. If you like barbeque you won't be disappointed. Unimportant gripes: the brisket was overcooked but still tasty, Mac and Cheese should be on the menu, and I make better coleslaw at home (but if you like sweet coleslaw it was not bad). My wife and I love barbecue and this place was better than going to Ribfest. Will go again.

This is place is so close to being perfect. First of all the meat is cooked to perfection, no complaints there. Where they lose the rating for me is the lack of seasoning... the food either has to be more heavily salted or have more sauce added to them. That being said all the sides are fantastic and the sandwiches are delicious. A bit more flavour would get this to 4 stars easily. Food guy.

7 on 5 for friendly staff and service! 5 on 5 for the potion size and taste of the items. 6 on 5 for the vegetarian options in their menu 5 on 5 for the patio seating and ambience We ordered loaded Nachos and Vegan Poutine which comes with a salsa dip and sour cream. As you can see in the pictures, the potion size was enough and more for two people. And the poutine had just the right amount curry (Not many places know how to do that!) This establishment is a very nice place to get some delicious food, 5 stars. I urge the review reader(s) to pay close attention to Daire Boowler & Blaze Rodriguez’s reviews. I can confirm that their reviews are 100% false as they are both delusional and turn any minor inconvenience into a huge situation. No restaurant is perfect, nor deserves to be blasted with false accusations such as these ones. I highly recommend dining at this fine establishment as the kitchen, waiting, and management staff far surpasses expectations. Keep up the good work!

For $190 this place was disgusting. The ribs were gross we washed the ribs and they became a little better but still gross don’t waste your money. Pulled bones out of the beans so be careful. Definitely wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend

I live down the street and am very excited for this place. As my boyfriend stated, its like the twiggs of burgers. I can't wait to attend on of their comedy nights and they have great local entertainment. Their food is well priced and the portions are perfect. I thought they were under sized but once you finished your plate you are full and happy not over stuffed. The two salads I had used homemade sauces which were to die for and the pulled pork sandwich was a dream.

I've been to Lou Dawg's twice and have had a pleasant experience both time! Food is great (I've ended up wasting my meals for lunch and dinner cause they're so filling) and the atmosphere is warm. They have really cool southern sides, their baked beans are incredible and so different, and the corn bread has jalapeno oh man so good. So I must say the food was delicious, menu size was great, and staff was friendly but over worked. We had to go to the bar to request a server after waiting 20 min for someone to acknowledge us. We ended up waiting over an hour before we received our food but no fault to the server as she did not stop running the entire time we were there. Get more staff to improve you customer service and the quicker you turn table the more money you'll make. Also leave menus on the table, so if customers do wait they can atleast look at the. I hope to see more the next time I try it and I'll update my rating. Thank you

Many good things to say about this gem of a restaurant. First the coleslaw is the best in the country. I was worried about quantity but once it all showed up I realised I ordered far too much. It doesn't usually happen like that so I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing sauces and make sure to try the jalapeno cheddar bread!

We were visiting North Bay and our daughter wanted ribs. Lou’s came recommended and we LOVED it. Short review: the restaurant was clean, the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Long review: We ordered the barbecue platter for four of us. There was so much food. And all of it was excellent. The ribs were saucy and Smokey. The deep fried pickles had a hint of spice. We got the wings with a Cajun dry rub but they had other options to choose from. The pulled pork poutine was so filling I couldn’t finish it. The brisket was to die for. My daughters literally started a fight over who got the last rib. (Like, my husband had to “talk to them” about their behaviour lol). We also loved the jalapeños cheddar corn muffin and the black bean and corn salad. The service was so good. Our drinks were never empty once. They were attentive and so good to us. The bathrooms were super clean according to my husband and the sink was “really cool” according to my 11 year old. Bring some loonies for the pin ball machines. Thanks, Lou’s! We won’t likely be back in North Bay for a long time but hopefully anyone else trading this review will take time to stop at this can’t miss barbecue joint.

The service was just as good as the food.....which was flavourful, and the portions were huge (we took home enough for another "meal for 2". Lou's is a nice change of pace! It brings to North Bay a great place to gather with friends and family for a casual night out. The classic smoked options that I sampled have been awesome (and I have tried most of them). The smoky taste is there but not overbearing. The brisket is definitely some of the best I have ever had. Looking forward to Lou Dawgs working through some of the trials of a new business and bringing us some more great entertainment and great food. All the best on the new venture!

Food was served fast and hot and portions were generous. Overall great Friday night dining experience. Will definately be back. Great atmosphere and access and parking on Oak is perfect!

Ive been to Lou Dawgs twice now. The first time there I had an amazing Experience the food was awesome and delicious super impressed. However fast forward to the most recent experience and it was terrible. This locations hours state themselves as open on Weekends during Lunch, so naturally myself and my wife and two friends drove down to have lunch and were super disappointed to find out that it was CLOSED!... we decided we would go and do something else and come back for dinner. when we came back for dinner we felt like we were ignored by the server, who was invisible at best. As well as he didn’t really know the menu so when we had questions he would reply with “I have no idea” and “sure why not”. Once the food came my wife’s poutine was cold and misleading and our Deep fried Mac N cheese balls were cold as well. Between dropping off the food and coming back to ask about bills he never came by once. Wish we would have gotten the chance to complain about the food but we didn’t. on our way out I decided I’d try and inform him about the hours on google and he said that he’d get the owner. But instead went and hid behind the bar. Always order the meat platters! The brisket is outstanding! The rest of the menu. Mediocre at best! Here to hopefully a great successful restaurant!

We stopped here for lunch during a recent visit to North Bay. Staff were great, place is very clean, and the food was outstanding! Had a real nice look in the inside and about 4-5 tables in the small patio out front. We tried the Southern Chicken sandwich to go and it was one of the best I've ever had. Had a nice Manitoulin draught while we waited. This restaurant is now a must stop when we visit the area.

This place is fantastic. I was in North Bay for work and surprised to find a BBQ spot, but let me tell you... this is the real deal. They have smokers that will make a Texan grunt in approval. The brisket is juicy and falls apart when you poke it with a fork, with a crusty bark just exploding with flavor. The smoked wings have a light crispy skin and mega smokey flavor. Their pulled pork and smoked chicken are juicy and lightly sauced so the meat flavors really come through, but there's lots of bbq sauce options on the table if you want to sauce them up. Even the sides were stellar... I forget what they put in the baked beans, but damn were they ever good. I think it was brisket trimmings and fat? Whatever it was, I inhaled the beans. It's hard to find BBQ this good, even in Toronto. Will definitely be coming back on my next work trip

Very good food and atmosphere. But some positive feedback would be to tell the servers to slow down. Everything feels rushed, we would of had another drink if we wouldn't of got our bill...

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of food all three times I have had Lou Dawgs, I had a 3 course meal, with a couple of beers. Considering the high quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want classic Southern BBQ and icy Cold beer. Definitely worth every penny.

Fabulous barbecue. It reminds of the southern US. My mother wasn't overwhelmed with her ribs. I would have the brisket with the smokey BBQ sauce every day. The corn and black bean salad is perfect. The baked beans are to die for.

Hits that craving for bbq. The chicken wings are fantastic. No breading but smoked and stilk have a nice crunch...the honey hot is a great spicy and sweet sauce. I had a chance to try each poutine and they are filling and tasty. With the fewer tables for distancing the place feels open and not crowded which is a big plus for me. The servers and bartenders are all great and very friendly. I had a cesar and the spicy pickel was a great compliment to the drink. The house lager is also good. If you have a bbq itch this is the place in North Bay. Check it out.

I enjoyed our experience! The specific waitress we had was a bit shy & slower but perhaps she was new?? Our food was good & arrived at our table nice and hot! I love that they have high chairs now! Wooo! It's a pretty place to enjoy time with friends for sure. Once they fix their flaws that come with being a new establishment, it'll be AWESOME!!

Went here for lunch. Absolutely awesome. My husband and I ordered the $40 for 2 sharing meal. It had a full appetizer,.then you get to choose 4 different kinds of southern smoked meats as well as tempeh..4 kinds of sides..and a dessert for 2. Absolutely amazing..my spouse who is a Chef and Baker was blown away..best fried airy crisp chicken ever..cornbread jalapeno muffin..brisket .pulled pork and deep fried smoked cauliflower and red skin potato salad. Well worth the price and we even took food home! Friendly staff. What a treat!
