We recently hosted a birthday party at our house for about 30 family and friends. Given the number of people attending, we decided to have the food catered and found Helen’s Deli was highly recommended. I understood why when we dropped by to speak to someone and saw the lineup out the door. Despite being extremely busy, Anita and Shawna took the time to speak with us about what we needed and made several helpful suggestions. The order was delivered to our house right on time. To say that the quality of the food was outstanding would be an understatement. From the chicken to the roast beef to the beautiful fruit and veggie trays, we were blown away! Our guests raved about the delicious meals and everyone asked us where we had ordered from? We will definitely be ordering from Helen’s in future! If you’re looking for the highest quality food and great value, look no further. Helen’s Deli is definitely the best there is!

Living out of town, I googled to find a place to create and deliver gift baskets. Then I 'blindly' ordered three gift baskets to be delivered to family in the Niagara Region. Shauna helped me choose product while on the phone and coordinated my order. The recipients were thrilled when they received their baskets!! ...Each custom designed to the individual couples. I can't thank you enough for your attention to detail and the professional, yet friendly manner in which my order was processed. Have been coming here with my mom since I was a little girl. I'm 34 now. Great deli food. I love to come here around the holiday season since there are a lot of seasonal goodies like rum balls and rum stollen. Can't speak much of the deli lunch table, but I have been enjoying the German potato salad my whole life. It has tasted the same as long as I can remember and is worth the price! (I did stop in recently and felt that there could have been a tad more paprika in the batch and it would have been perfect! Typically you'll see the paprika on the surface in the serving tray but didn't see any this time!) They have great dessert squares too; apple and cherry. This place has been around almost as long as I've been alive. If you haven't tried it for yourself, what are you waiting for. And might I add, you're missing out. Great quality food at excellent prices. A++

Food is consistently good, place is clean and there is lots of indoor seating. Prices for the salad bar is very expensive much higher than Harvest Barn. The only reason why I give three stars is the service. From the previous owners to the new ones, the staff seem miserable. Not sure why they all seem to hate their jobs but a smile, or a hello, or even thank you would go a long long way. Maybe it’s just my luck and I get a person having a bad day but every single time??? Considering the other options downtown, all who provide great friendly service it may be awhile before we head back to Helen’s.

They put together the cutest charcuterie themed basket for us. So many items were included and it was beautifully executed. The day of delivery they called to let us know they would be delivering the basket once the croissants have cooled from the oven; so sweet! Would recommend and thanks again ????

Helen's is a great place to grab lunch if you are in the downtown area. They have a salad bar and hot foods to choose from. We order our work lunch from here a lot and the schnitzel is a staff favorite. I am from Kitchener which has a huge German community and had not seen schnitzel that compared until I found Helen's. The pork schnitzel is HUGE.

I come here everyday. Always have great service and delicious, fresh, homemade food., and great prices too. The reason i'm giving a 3 star is because they changed their hours and now unfortunately losing a lot of business. I work right across the street and see people after their new closing hours trying to go there but cant. PLEASE change your hours back! That 1 extra hour was perfect! Not just for me but for the dozens of people who take their dinner breaks at 5 and sadly can't go to Helens. Other than that, best place ever.

Bought meat pies on two separate occasions a month apart. Both had congealed goo inside for gravy and tiny amounts of meat - tried beef and chicken. Seems like they are freezing them and then baking later and putting far too much flour (cheap filler) and hardly any meat in them. Couldn't eat them. Tried to get my money back - actually took the time to bring it back and..."sorry, our policy is no refunds!!!" I could have store credit because owner wasn't there. Terrible policy - staff should have the authorization when a poor product is returned. Also have found the sodium levels on their hot foods is through the roof, and I like salt. Also had sour grains in a salad (I know the difference between a vinaigrette and soured old grains). More dating of product needs to be done.

I used Helens for catering an event in downtown St. Catharines and I could not be any happier. Maggie was super accommodating to last minute requests and her staff was on time as well as efficient with the set up. Attendees regularly complimented the taste and freshness of the fruit platter. The breakfast platter was also very good, especially the spinach and feta puff pastry. I definitely recommend Helens for your catering needs.

It has the potential to be really good but the customer service and prices are pretty bad. Pretty much everything is overpriced and there's an extra charge for everything, they'll barely even give you a ketchup packet for free. I also went there once with multiple people and we all got sick after.
