This place is fantastic! I order their vegetarian sandwich once a week and it tastes like homemade goodness. The portions are generous and their prices are outstanding despite a raise in the cost a few months ago. They also make a really tasty Thai coconut soup which has so much flavour. Just make sure to order it early as it has sold out a few times before lunch time rolls around. And their m&m cookies are fresh baked!!! Highly recommend.

I love this establishment. Very friendly and helpful staff. The best homemade soup and sandwiches around. I always get the turkey cranberry on multigrain bread with everything on it with a bowl of homemade soup and a drink. Don't forget the breakfast menu also. Outdoor seating available for eating. Yummy!

This is one of my favourite little places in New West. I have been going here since it was an older couple who owned it (Tom and Judy I think?). The new owners have done an amazing job retaining the friendly and comfortable atmosphere and the food options are still delicious. I usually always get their breakfast ace on a bagel, but I have tried their other sandwiches and have never been disappointed!!

The owners are super friendly, accommodating, and helpful when it comes to assisting with my organization's catered events. The food is always fresh (I mean truly fresh, like they stay up all night roasting turkeys and using that meat as opposed to processed turkey slices!) and absolutely delicious. They are the epitome of quality in both customer service and food. I highly recommend!

Healthy and filling, sandwich was pretty big and I love the turkey bacon avacado sandwich. My only issues were I ordered no onion and I got onion (even picking it off you can still taste onion) and when you peel the saran wrap off the carrot cake (which has a bit too much lemon) a lot of the icing goes with it. Staff are very friendly and know a lot of their customers by name.

Went here on friend's recommendation. Really enjoyed the special of the day with a side of soup and drink combination. Meatball sub with nice warm bread that wasn't too crunchy. Just perfect! Where do I start? The place gets busy, but don't let that sway you. This team has it down to a fine art of getting your order filled, and into your hands within a very reasonable period of time. They have vegan and gluten free options too, and if you want something extra, just ask. I have also used their catering service for a wedding shower, and will be using them in a few weeks for a home party. I have also attended a wedding they catered, and it was fantastic. Melissa, Sam, Sean, Raajan and Vicky work very hard, and it shows. Prices are very reasonable too!

While missing the previous owners I decided to give the new ones a fair chance. They kept a few of the items which was nice while the rest of the menu seemed to be more on the hipster side. Most sandwiches are loaded with veg which is why I added an extra star. The welcoming feeling this little shop used to have is gone. It feels like you're just another number they need to serve. Every time I've been there they have been out of soup or fruit or even turkey.

If I could go more than 5/5 I would. These guys are THE BEST place to eat in New Westminster. I have eaten here for the last 3 years pretty much every single day (many days multiple times). I'm glad to see them reopened during the Covid pandemic and highly encourage you to go and visit them for some fresh home made soups and baked goods. They make me a KILLER breakfast sandwich for me pretty much every morning. All the people that work there are wonderful, especially the owners Sammie and Melissa. Their food is made with love, you can taste the difference! Take it from me, I was a chef for 10 years and I have eaten at many restaurants from high end to greasy spoon. I can tell you the food that comes out of their kitchen is right up there with the best of them. If you're around town during the week and need a quick bite of awesome home made food you have to check it out! They also do awesome cateering!

Looking for new eats is always a bit of a challenge for me but I came across the appropriately named Columbia Street Sandwich Company in mid-July. This is a busy little sandwich shop located on Columbia Street in New Westminster with plenty of local patrons from nearby businesses. On my first visit in mid-July, there was a fairly steady line-up at the counter but it moved fairly quick. I ordered the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado ($8.25 ) which is a fairly popular choice as I saw lots of other diners order the same thing. It’s served on your choice of bread (I picked marble rye) and is served with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, and mayo. The sandwich is really solid and I really liked the bacon in this ‘wich but I was a bit surprised that the marble rye wasn’t very marbly. On my second visit, I decided to try their Soup and Salad Combo ($6.25 + $1 for added bacon + $4 for soup). The Roast Turkey with Cranberry Sauce comes with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, mayo and your choice of bread. I opted for marble rye again and was pleased that it was better than it was on my first visit. This is a good sandwich and the sweet cranberry sauce goes well with the savory turkey. The mushroom soup was creamy (kind of like condensed soup?) but could have used some more mushrooms in it. It seems like each time I come here, the marble rye gets better and better. This time around, the bread had that beautifully spiraled mix of light and dark… Man! This is what you call marble rye! The Tuna Salad on Marble Rye ($5.50) is fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, onions, and cucumber and I really enjoyed this. I made it a combo and added a cookie instead of soup. I found the oatmeal cookie was tender but the chocolate chips kept falling off. While the sandwiches aren’t as far out as nearby Big Star Sandwiches, you get a solid selection of ‘wiches here.

5 BIG STARS!! We hosted a backyard family party for 12 adults, 5 kids and had Columbia Street Sandwich cater for it. Samantha put together an amazing lunch of fresh sandwiches, awesome salads, veggie tray with fresh humous and dip, and a variety of sweets for dessert. All of our guests loved the food. Communication was excellent, price was very reasonable for the high quality of food and everything was ready for pick up on time at 10am the morning of our event. Oh my gosh! The best baked goods and sandwiches around! I visited this place on a business trip. Three weeks later I’m back at the same place. There is a take out window on the sidewalk, which is super convenient. I stood there in the rain, wearing a face mask and fogging up my glasses. The lady just looks at me sideways and says my name! I have never had a bad breakfast sandwich here! Service is great. Even when I didn't go for a few months they remember my order! Ace with bacon on sourdough highly recommended. If they have a sausage breakfast sandwich special it's also great. I've never been able to take a photo of the full sandwich as half is gone already :P

I discovered this place by accident. It's a tiny sandwich shop with a long frontal sliding glass window which can be opened to allow a connection with the street goings-on. The front door is old and has been painted many times. The glass is squeaky clean. The door handle is old and polished brass. As you enter the restaurant you are met with a friendly hello and almost always there are happy clients seated in the very limited seating. It almost looks like the owners have just quickly set up a temporary eatery for a band of travellers, read to disassemble it at a moments notice. It's clean, bright and cheery. It's welcoming and the quaint chalk board menu on the wall has the fare for the day. Fresh, huge pieces of warm in house made banana bread wrapped plastic wrap sit in rows on the front counter. Two soups, one vegetarian and one not are always offered. They respect vegan and vegetarian requests happily. Although the drink offerings are meagre, its the sandwich you are here for. When your sandwich arrives on your chosen bread type, your eyes will be rewarded with a view of the thickest most delicious sandwich you will ever encounter. The bread, toasted or not, is fresh, delicious and always freshly made. You leave the shop, with a sandwich, a large vegetarian soup (made in house and 'to die for') and a large piece of warm banana bread for under $8. Oh, and sprout day...yes sprout day! If you are lucky enough to hit sprout day, do it....have sprouts instead of their fresh cut lettuce! Try this place. I came across it by accident and would heartily and honestly recommend this place to you. You will not regret it!

Our office is new to the City of New Westminster, and we are a short walking distance from Columbia Street Sandwich Company. WOW! How lucky are we to have found this sandwich restaurant! All flavours of sandwiches are delicious and filling with reasonable prices! This is our "go to" place for catering all meetings.
