Everything was delicious, BIG portions, nice quality, tasty vegetarian and salad options and lots of extra food, condiments and cutlery. And SUPER friendly staff. I am not one to complain but in this case, I feel compelled to share my story so that I may save people from spending A LOT of money on a service that doesn't meet basic expectations on professionalism. Hiring OTM to cater my wedding reception - June 18th, 2016 Mississauga Parents' backyard - garden party At the beginning of the planning phase- I thought the service was stellar. I had a lady agent looking after my file; inquiry, requirements, needs etc. As far as I was concerned all was well. Come February - I put my deposit down - to be expected. Two weeks before my big day - I discover the woman looking after my file is no longer employed by the company and that someone else is looking after things. 3 days before my party - the new person looking after my catering affairs mentions in passing that my contract doesn't include drinkware and asked if I had that looked after. I did not! I haven't catered a large event before. Out of a lack of education and knowledge (on my part) in this specific scenario - catering a wedding - I counted on a professional to share this need with me. I counted on OTM - the supposed qualified professional caterer to enlighten me so that I may have all details addressed. Well - needless to say....I needed drinkware. Naturally this was an added cost to what was already a very expensive bill. I was totally taken aback and frustrated that I had to deal with this in the 11th hour. I kept most of my emotions to myself and agreed to pay half of what the cost was for the drinkware. I did get some sarcastic commentary from the person looking after me..."I am Paula'd out!!!" Let's move on. I gave instructions to the bar staff on how to handle the event; ice in the freezer in the garage, use shooter cups that I bought for shots, serve keg beer first to beer drinkers. Do you think they followed through with any of those directions? NO!!! They didn't use any of the shooter cups I bought for shots. Instead they used the glass drinkware - serving more than an ounce at a given time thus getting my guests WASTED including my husband. I bought 35 bags of ice 2 $3.50 a bag. The bar staff told my guests at 11pm that I ran out of ice. Next day I find 20 bags left in the freezer. That's $70 wasted and a lot of annoyed guests. The bar staff told my guests around 10:30pm that I ran out of champagne. Next day I found 12 bottles/one case left. This isn't too bad because I returned the booze but......annoyed guests and bride. The bar staff broke the keg handle and thus was not able to serve more than half of what was available in the keg. That cost me $180 with a loss of $100. Let's move on some more; later in the night at midnight - most of my guests had left. The bar staff decided to let loose and have some fun with my guests. They were dancing and swimming in my parents pool. They stayed an additional 2 hours and told my Mom (not the one paying the bills) that they wouldn't charge her for the extra hours. This is ludicrous. I am not a mean person nor demanding nor uptight. Had I invited the bar staff to stay and relax.....this would have been alright....but I did no such thing. I had angry guests/annoyed guests/thirsty guests/inebriated guests and finally a pissed off bride. Now......I relayed all of this to the person looking after my file post party and all I got was an apology. They had already collected amount owing in full 2 days before the party so.....I am SOL from any remedy or amendment to the situation. I would like for everyone to beware of hiring this company. If you push forward - pay the remaining installment post party this way have some recourse when things hit the fan. Best of luck!

I would rate zero stars if that's possible. I've been trying to book this place for a catering job for two weeks. I called them four times, each time a promise for a call back with list of options. No callbacks or emails to date. Was about to call again when I thought if they can't even call back on time after so many failed attempts why should I trust them to deliver food on time if I choose them?? I have been using On The Move for all of my events over the past few years and have never been disappointed! Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special Events, and sometimes just because my family wants to eat some great food - every time we order and someone new is at our table, they ask for the information and become customers too. Everything looks and tastes like it is homemade, and the prices are more than fair. To top it all off, the staff is very friendly - they really make you feel like part of the family!

I ordered almost every meal on the meal plan from simmer and stirred since I am now working from home and didn't want to have to go out or cook. The food is truly homemade and delicious! The portions are also big and were able to do me for two meals. I will freeze what meals I can't eat, which was the plan, so I can have ready made meals for the next couple of weeks. We had the lovely experience of hiring On the Move catering for my Dads surprise 70th birthday. Even though they were SWAMPED with holiday events, there was no lack of care, dedication, or deliciousness when it came to everything. The quote was well within the budget and we were thrilled with the menu!! The cocktail hour was amazing, and our guests enjoyed the charcuterie board throughout the night! Guests helped themselves to seconds, and only complained that it was too good so they ate too much! The lovely lady that took exceptional care of us was amazing; so professional and polite, and catered to our schedule. This was everything we hoped for and are so thankful we found this company. We will be using them again for sure.

Thank you so much to the On The Move team for assisting my company with providing meals to our First Responders in Stouffville. We approached them looking to provide a lunch for the police, fire, and paramedics and they took this to the next level. The portion size was huge and the varieties of meals were great. The fact that they thought to add some extra vegan meals in addition to the ones that we ordered just shows how good they are at what they do. We hadn't even thought about that! The First Responders were grateful that we thought of them but judging by their response they were more grateful that we used On The Move! Thanks again to the On the Move team.

This is absolutely the worst catering I've ever gotten at work. Nobody likes it, I'm suprised that we've kept on the move catering for so long. All we do is make jokes about how awful it is. I dont understand. It feels almost disrespectful. Maybe you should change career paths.

They have been amazing to work with - they packaged each meal for each hospital worker individually and showed up on time with their truck to make sure our meal delivery to the hospital went as smoothly as possible. We hired this company to cater a company function at our home. At the end of the evening their employee dragged their "hot box" across my hardwood floors with nothing under it (against their protocol and put a deep gouge in the hallway, sitting room and kitchen. When she realized what she had done she tried wiping it up and started crying when she realized the damage. The next day the company told me she denied doing it. Then we ended up both getting quotes and we suggested cutting it off in the middle, to which they refused to pay. We are now filing a Small Claims Court case against them. Buyer beware. This company said it has never happened in 20 years of them being in business so they aren't going to pay for this. There's logic for you....You'd think they would carry insurance. This is not the kind of company you want to deal with!

They did my outdoor wedding and were absolutely AMAZING!!! Any mini freak out I would have leading up to the day, Sylvia assured me she would be there to help me with anything I needed and didn’t have to worry. Saying this to calm me down is one thing, but what she did was another!!! On the day of, she showed up early, helped me set up and completely took over and made my vision come to life when I needed to leave and get ready. Leaving my wedding setup up to her and her staff was scary with the long list of things that still needed to be done... Let me tell you, she went above and beyond my expectation and helped my wedding vision come to life!!! The food was sooo good, EVERYONE complimented me on how amazing it was! Even after the wedding, I still got compliments! From the beginning to end, Lino & Sylvia were such a pleasure to deal with!
