This is one of the best restaurants in the city. Amazing food and good service every time.
Great gluten free menu
Such kind staff. Clean space, and the food is amazing!!! I haven't had authentic delicious Indian food like that in a very long time. You must try it!!!
Pricey but delicious totally worth it
(Translated) Delicious Indian food, cheap and affordable. (Original) 好吃的印度餐,便宜又实惠。
I used to love this place but felt the quality has gone down lately.
Food was incredible but the service was poor. The waitress had six tables, but got at least 3 orders wrong while we were there and we had to ask for water refills and the bill, twice.
No star at all. 1. Mango lassi was so bad. 2. No check beans in samosa chat. Not a single piece. Thats how you charge ti customer. Not even taste in kadai paneer
Delicious
First time visiting. Lunch buffet was good but not great. Selection was a bit limited. Naan bread was excellent. Overall a decent experience, I would come again and order from the menu.
Authentic Indian food
Usually I'd give them a better score; I've been there before and loved it. However, lately their quality has dropped, and they're getting sloppy with their orders. I was missing a whole entree from my last order, but was still charged for it.
Nice staff, but I ordered my butter chicken "super hot!" but got mild. I think I'll go to the one by McDonald's on the highway instead next time I'm hankering for Indian food.
I really like their food specially, Butter Chicken with pita bread.
This restaurant has relocated and joined with the Indian Kitchen restaurant which is located on 13th Avenue
Great food. Nice atmosphere in dining area
I just love this place! It's so delicious.
One of my favorite restaurants. Actually, maybe even my favorite. The food is SO delicious, and the staff are very friendly! Also very clean!
I have food delivered , each time I try something different , I think they are keeping their reputation up to the mark.
Delicious food and cheap..
Food is a little too sweet
Great food! Little pricey...loved the atmosphere!
Amazing, I have eaten in Indian Restaurants all over the lower Mainland, Calgary and Edmonton, and the Mango Tree is one of the best! You will not be disappointed!
Good
Great curry here. I had the tikka masala and it was a good amount of heat. I really enjoyed the naan bread as well.
Good and tasty food with better service. The only disappointment was we had to wait more than half an hour before anyone took our order.
Super friendly staff, great food that is ridiculously inexpensive Bench seats are not comfortable, just saying
Food was delicious but we ordered take away for our hotel room. When we opened the bag there were no utensils to eat the food with and there were no napkins. Good thing there was a dollar store nearby or we would have been able to eat the food.
Nice Indian food
Food quality and taste is amazing. Atmosphere is pretty good. Worth every penny
Oh my God I love the food here. Service could be better sometimes but food is great.
Food was delivered hot and on time. Chicken Tikka Masala was absolutely spot on, will definitely use them again for sure !!
Great location and atmosphere. Good food
Love their food!
Great food
The old mango tree location is closed for good..try the new one..
Great good
I love this place ! Professional , amazing services , the waitresses are super kind , the food are so great , great , great ... I am hungry now lol just to remember the Greg good . Blessing to this place .
Delicious food and really friendly service. The prices were good for the portions.
One of the worst places to order the food from, ordered my food about an hour and a half ago and they haven't sent the food and they blamed it on the delivery guy. When the delivery guy showed up he said he was waiting at the restaurant for over 25 mins to get the food ready. While it's the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure they advise the customer the food will be arriving late. Really very disappointed with the chain restaurant never expected this kind of service from The Mango. Wont recommend it to anybody.
Nice place to get Indian food , friendly staff and quick service.Best in Medicine Hat
I ordered take out (Butter chicken, rice and naan) and I have to say that it is the best butter chicken I ever had! The receptionist was kind as well and quick to help me. Next time I am in town, I will defenetly return!
Tikka masala was great. Coconut rice and cilantro nan was decent.nice staff
Good food but long wait times ruined it. We had to wait 45 minutes for our food, and almost an hour just to pay. The wait staff was not attentive at all as they seemed more concerned with their skip the dishes orders than anyone in the restaurant. The manager on duty seemed to not know what was going on and didn't seem apologetic of the situation. It's a shame that such good food is ruined by the inexperienced wait staff.
What a great restaurant the staff are friendly and the food is amazing the flavours just dance in your mouth, would definitely recommend trying this restaurant even if you have never tried Indian food cuisine before.
Delicious food. Have the mixed grill!
First time for Indian cuisine. Food was great for me.
The Mango Tree is always a good experience. They have the best food. I love the coconut chicken meal the very best. They also have great service.
Great food! And reasonably priced????
Love the food here. The service is a little slow but the food is worth it.
Not recommended. We ordered chicken vendalo, chicken malai tikka, and chicken tikka masla. Chicken was not properly cooked in all of them. We’d very high expectations from this restaurant but our experience with their food is not good. We will never come back here again.
Great tasty and quality food. Staff is good with best service experience. Try veg biryani..
Really liked the food, but it is WAY over priced and will probably never go back. Too bad.
Awesome food.
Delicious especially tandoori
Best curry in medicine hat
Absolutely fantastic - good, decor, staff & price! Best Indian food I've had in Canada. Will definitely be coming back. The only thing that spoiled it for us was a table of VERY rowdy women - at lunch time!! Girls, this is not a bar - next time please have some respect for fellow diners.
I ordered Mango Tree through Skip the Dishes. According to the driver, Mango Tree orders go to Indian Kitchen when they’re closed. Okay, I hadn’t tried Indian Kitchen yet. I ordered two dishes. I immediately packed one into a glass container and put it in the fridge. The first meal I ate, butter chicken, was amazing. Perfect sauce to rice ratio, wonderfully spiced. All around good dish. I went to reheat the mango chicken dish last night. I poured it out of the container into my pan and started breaking up larger pieces. Came across a weirdly large blackened clove of garlic. Turned out that garlic also had legs and antennae. Biggest bug I’ve ever seen, if you’re an average person it was easily the size of the end section of your thumb. I'll likely eat in at Mango Tree again, but I won't be ordering takeout.
Lots of space to seat and eat some delicious Indian cuisine with some liquor off course.
The food was FANTASTIC. We actually tried to order too much food and the waiter suggested the kids share a meal as they are good size portions. The kids loved it too.
The best east Indian food I've had .I'll go back ☆☆☆☆☆☆
Spectacular, authentic food, made with love (you can taste it).
My favorite place to eat
We went there for lunch and had the smorg. It was ok, but nothing really special. There seemed to be only one staff member working doing the waitressing and cooking which made her quite scarce when it came to service.
This is currently the best Indian restaurant in Medicine Hat. The lamb dishes are tender, well prepared the curry is hot or mid as you like it the nan bred is hot and delicious. Give it as try.
Food was amazing
If I could give this no stars I would. We walked in and stood by the entrance for a few minutes without being greeted. The place was empty. No customers and no front staff, or so we thought. We could hear people in the kitchen so I walked over to the back side of the room, thinking the waitress was back there, only to discover the waitress fast asleep across a couple of chairs. My husband even very loudly said HELLOOOO and she didn't stir. We left and went to the Cliff in the Travelodge, which was very good and the service was great! Five stars for them!
Consistantly the best food! Amazing for take out as well. Their service is great and we eat here a lot. My husband loves the wings and tandoori chicken. Their coconut rice or garlic naan are great with everything!
July 2016: The staff is friendly and approachable, and the food is fresh, well-made, and well plated. They try to have a variety in how they present their dishes, as well as a great selection of vegetarian dishes. The bathrooms are clean and they ask what levels of spice you'd like with your curries and sauces- mild, medium, or hot. June 2017: this place is on the verge of closing down due to poor cleaning practises and a dirty kitchen. I have gotten a mild illness from eating here. The service is great and the servers know what's in every dish, but the kitchen still requires work. It's unfortunate, and I hope they don't close down.
The food is delicious but be warned that even when ordering the least spicy option you will be in for a surprise. My friend who ordered the most spicy option was literally crying.
Very good food. Prices are outstanding. Huge portions.
Very good food and service highly recommend
Very enjoyable food, but I miss their lunch special... Not sure why it is no more....
Mango Tree is a good meal - most of the time. Depending on the time of day or cook working your requested spicy dish can be super mild or almost inedible because of the heat. But, when it's done well it's awesome!
A little slow on service, BUT omg the food is amazing!!!
Friendly staff
Terrible service took ages for food to come and the servers were as confused as I was. Had to grab the bill at the front of the store not given to me by the servers. The only good thing about this place was that they gave us bendy straws.
5 star: Food is great. Waiting time is ok. Ambience is good too. The Mango Tree is better than Spice Hut, the food here has a better taste. Im just sayin. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 2 star: This review is Nov 17, 2018 at the new location of The Mango tree. They move to a bigger place. But the service become more slower. The server that we had is not friendly, no smile at all, she didnt even come back for us and ask how’s our food. I understand that they are tired but atleast pretend that she is happy to serve the cutomers. The food become oily. We always order our usual chix biryani as you can in the photo. The chix wings, we love it but its too small, thumb size, its ok it taste good. Overall, the concern is just about the service, it become more slower and food is too oily. I know this is not a fast food but waiting 1hr for 2 orders, what do you feel? Starving right. Im just sayin based on my experience.
Was very upset with the service. My meal took forever to arrive, and when it did it was already sort of cold somehow. Would not recommend at all, unfortunately.
Delicious! Good price
Ordered cucumber salad with my food, all cucumbers were bitter in taste.
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and interesting. Kind of like a quick little trip to India.
Their menu on skip the dishes does not specify if what I’m ordering comes with rice. I spent $85 on skip the dishes, to find out I get no rice! For that price, it would be nice if they would have at least offered one free rice. Instead they tell me to call skip the dishes. In which I’m on hold of course. Guess I’m making my own pot of rice with my $85 curry chicken!
Friendly, well priced, and of course the food was delicious. I will be returning.
Really good food. Service could make you wish you ate someplace else.
Found a 6-inch piece of metal in my order of butter chicken. Lost me as a customer.
One staff serves lip and doesn't care of public relations
Pricing, service and food was very good.
Great food, but it's pricey and the atmosphere is dull. Seats are very uncomfortable.
Good food
Ravi is in town.. Country Service Manager was working on improving customer service as the food is great but more takeouts than people eating in. Ravi is infectious and if she can work her magic on the staff, then thiswill be the place for Curry in the Hat.
We ordered take out tonight. Some of the hot food tasted good but the dessert was stale. It had fungus on it.
Excellent food, good service, generous portions, and good price!
5 stars on food, 1 star on service. Their food is definitely delicious and authentic, restaurant is maintained clean and socially distancing. But I'm absolutely not happy with their service.. we're waiting to be seated as written instruction by entrance but noone's taking care of us.. one girl standing there checking her phone pretending not seeing us ???????? We have to wave to get her "attention" WE WAITED ALMOST 40 MINUTES TO GET OUR FOOD. But food was absolutely delicious, I hope the owner can do better on staff training, we don't have many great authentic Indian restaurants in town, you can provide much better dining experience for customers. I'll come back for food, and expecting better customer service. I'll update this post/rate by then. Photo by @Mr.glvte from Instagram
Food was really good like the food back in India. I thoroughly enjoyed. If you love tandoori chicken, this place is for you.
Very Good food ????????????
Not great. They need to dust and clean the bathroom.
Authentic indian restaurant. Food was good.
Excellent
Try the mango chicken. Seriously. So good.
butter chicken made just right. great naan bread.
Food well worth the wait.
Absolutely the best Indian food restaurant here in town by far! This is our go-to place whenever we have a special occasion to celebrate. Definitely our favorite restaurant here! Authentic, delicious and reasonably priced! Make a reservation though if you plan on going on a busy night because it can be a bit of a wait for a table :)
great food. Large variety of Indian food. From butter chicken to tandoor
Pros: Great food! Great location! Cons: Service can be a bit odd sometimes where nobody checks on your for awhile, the seating is starting to sag alot, so you sit real low. Always a positive experience though
When we’re craving Indian food this has been our number one spot. The quality of each dish varies from time-to-time, but it’s always good
My favourite place in the WORLD
Delicious food. A little pricey for the portions
I use to enjoy coming to this restaurant been coming to them for the last two years but it just seems the service keeps getting worse. My friend and I came in today and waited about 5 minutes to be seated not bad a gentleman sticks us in the back corner and we wait menus piled up because I know the menu I always order the same order for the past 6months. So ten minutes pass by and not even a request to bring us waters let alone an actual server to assist us. So I decided after a washroom break if there was no server we would leave. Packed up. Put on our coats. Walked by a gentleman on the register. A bus girl cleaning and a indiduval behind the counter and a couple of gentleman bringing in chairs. Not a single person stopped us or said a single word. Wow disappointed
Great Service and very good food
Great place excellent food and service.
Not worth to eat
The worst service ever , attenders doesn’t know anything about hospitality...never again!!!
Great deal for lunch. $13.99 special, 2 curries, rice, naan, palomas, salad. I paid $1 more for dessert.
So much food and it is so good. Mango Chicken is THE BEST. Everything including the service is fantastic. Great atmosphere.
Excellent curry coconut chicken with naan. :)
Delicious food nd fingerlicking experience????
Friendly staff and good food.
Awesome food!!
Superb people working there
Delicious..... food
Good food good service and affordable rate.
Good food. Lunch menus are pretty good. Nice ambience.
There was no flexibility in the menu items. The curry menu did not include rice and salad like the tandori menu. I am average size male and the serving size was not enough. The salad, whatever there was of it, was hidden underneath the rice. The chicken did taste good and the staff were nice. Overall though, this was not a good eating experience.
Amazing butter chicken
Absolutely Fabulous
Delicious vegetarian options (some vegan) amazing rice, naan was good. Delicious all around. Great spices and flavour.
Great
One of our favourite restaurants in Red Deer. A must stop when we are in town!
Best Indian restaurant west of Delhi!
Best food around. Great friendly service
Top marks here. Excellent service and food was delicious.
This is only one east Indian food place
Best Indian food I've ever had! Reasonably priced and good service.
Best curry in town
Okay so after almost 9 hours of drive from winnipeg all we need was indian food to eat and we come to google for recommendations all we got is 5star rating for mango tree, we were excited as well as hungury so we quickly ordered platter with malaai tikka and for main dish we ordered tikka masala and vandaloo, after 20 mins i guess all we got was frozon samosa and pakoras and the malai tikka meat requires extra effort to chew chicken in all three dishes and nans were even worst i guess they gave us paraths. All the best if you still choose to dine at mango tree
Ordered off of Skipthedishes and I got the fish tikka, I realized after I ordered that I had forgotten to ask for rice as well but the order actually includes rice as well as a nice side salad. Overall it was very tasty, nicely arranged, good value, and I would definitely recommend
Order from here quite often with no problems. Today I was missing the rice from my order. After calling the restaurant the woman I talked to fixed the mistake and sent someone with our missing items! Excellent food, excellent customer service
Super tasty food, good atmosphere, try the Korma if you dont like too spicy. Mixed grill is also superb to try a variety of dishes. Best restaurant in Medicine Hat, forget the steak houses- too blah, I can buy steak at Costco and cook it better on the BBQ for a fraction of the price. This will awake your senses, take your time for the meal. Allow 2 hours or more, staff really friendly, this is not a franchise and owners take a lot of pride in serving authentic food. If you want to eat somewhere different and take a break from bland Chinese food buffet you MUST try this!
Food was mediocre, a little burnt tasting. The wait time is very high!! We waited for an hour and 15 before we got our meal.
Absolutely the worst east Indian food I have ever had. Bland, flavorless and when confronted about the fact that this was not how the food should taste even in comparison to its sister location in brooks. We were lied too and told we did not know what we were talking about and refund or remake of order was not going to happen. Waste of money and time you would be better off taking your family to mcdonalds at least there food has flavor lol.
Worst service I've ever had in my life. Waited 15 mins to be seated in a 1/4 full restaurant. Then waited over an hour until they realized they forgot to put my order in. Spent 2.5 hours just to eat.
Was good, but the service was lacking.
Add some spice guys. Really bland. My indian friend says it was bakwaas.
This is a gem! Great food, fun atmosphere! The combos are delicious and come with lots of food for the price.
Never again. Expensive, non consistent taste, very poor service and not so amazing management, in my opinion...
Great
Very tasty!
Awesome food
Food is alright but a bit overpriced for what its worth. They always burn the crap out of those naan breads everytime I order. Spice Hut is much better comparing to this place.
ordered shahi paneer and they had chicken pieces in it ! Don't understand what happens in the kitchen.
I'm usually not into trying anything new. Not dissapointed. The Curry chicken and papadoms are the best thing that ever happened to my taste buds. Friendly staff and awesome portions for what you pay for.
Many gluten free options. Excellent food.
Great Indian food
One of my favourite places. Good food, great price. Certainly worth it.
Best food ever. We went there on wednesday. Ordered mango chicken, coconut chicken and mixed grill along with two garlic nan. Everything was fantastic. Service was superb. Highly recommended.
Great service - knowledgeable staff and great food!
Really good service and lovely food.
Food is delicious and staff are lovely.
I clesned it after the owner left. It was a pig sty! It had never been cleaned swept or anything. There piles of old food on the floors and food slooped on the walls from like forever ago! Eveything was quite disgusting! I cant brlieve food was served there znd nobody died to my knowledge. Unbelievable!
Very long waiting time waitress kept complaining how tired she was there were 6 of us who will never come back again your loss and will tell others !!
Very good food!
Great food! Had the Tandori chicken and it tasted great but had a lot of bone and cartilage in it. My friend's Butter chicken was amazing. Portion size was a bit small, even after splitting an appetizer. Home made Naan bread was generous and delicious. Service was good but communication was somewhat difficult.
Tasty food decent prices but they need the deserts
I went there for the first time today. The staff are friendly and attentive without being annoying. I didn't think the food was over-priced; definitely average price range here. I had the 3 course meal: 2 samosas, salad, and butter chicken with rice. It was tasty and not too spicy. If I had to be picky, I would mention the seats--there wasn't much room between the table and the seats, and I'm not really big. I will definitely be coming here again.
Great vindaloo and the best delivery driver ever
One of the best indian restaurant I ate to in the country. Amazing Shahi paneer! Great and fast service. Go to the restaurant, it's better to eat the food when its just out of the oven!
The bbq was too salty, otherwise good
Food has lots of flavour and the staff is very friendly.
Excellent food, service was a little slow but worth the stop
By far, the best Indian restaurant in the area, and in all of Alberta I would have to say. I grew up in Surrey, BC (the largest Indian population in North America) and was in India for 4 months and this is one of the best places for Indian food around. There is maybe a handful of restaurants that are on par with it in BC. The prices are great and service is usually pretty good. Ambience is nice as well.
Great food, nicely furnished, friendly staff, great atmosphere. The prices are decent too. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area
I love the food here!
I use to love the mango tree when it was downtown. Last two experiences have been horrible and sadly I'm no longer a customer. Order on skip for pick up. Said it was going to be 45 minutes. Driving into town to find out they gave our order away. Wait 30 minutes for them to re cook our food. While were waiting there's not one person in there. Two men walked in and the person working was rude to him, told him to wait so she could finish her phone condo. Gets off the phone asks him his order # and he's like I haven't orderd yet. Under charges his debit. And is like you owe me 2.89. Get home with our food. No dips, only one order of rice. I'll never be back. Huge mess. 4th worst restaurant on skip on dishes
Excellent shahi paneer and dal. Very good service.
Terrible service. Ordered a meal and it took 2 hours to arrive. We phoned to express our concern over the lengthy wait time and were given attitude. Will NEVER eat at Mango Tree again.
Ordered food at 5 said it would be ready to go by 515 then delivered by 545 it took until 715 for the delivery the no one had any idea where the driver was. Would never recommend delivery from mango tree
Honestly wasn't the best experience. Food took over an hour, no approached us. We sat in our booth for 20min or so. They charged us extra for water that we didn't even order. And I didn't feel to great after eating the food. The naan bread was dripping with grease, quite revolting. Wouldn't recommend.
Stopped in for supper on the way through town, great little gem. Amazing food, quick service, clean and more than reasonable prices. Look forward to stopping on our next trip we drive through.
Great food decent price.
Never going back to this place.. Made me wait 50mins and gave me something i didn't order.. And the waiter was trying to fool me ... I went for dinner and had to.come back empty stomach.. If you don't know how to cook something just let the customer know show that he can order something . Dont fool him by giving him something he didn't order... Unhygenic and food taste like they have a 15 year old kid working as a chef there..
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent food, excellent staff, I love it
the 3star is only for their coustomer service. food is amazijg but bad customer service.
