I asked the waitress for lemonade.... she serves me lemon wedge in a glass of cold water. She didn't even tell me when I ordered that they don't have lemonade. The food was the worst ever.... chicken was dry and chewy! The gyro wrap smelled funny. The meat didn't taste good at all. The quantity is good, no doubt but who wants to have tasteless food? I went there there with my family on new years eve. We all left disappointed. I wish i had gone some place else. Wasted my money!! Not going back for sure.

Just went there today for lunch for the first time, the prices, the quality and quantity of the food was amazing. The dishes were brought out within 10-15 minutes which is great timing and also I can’t forget to mention the lovely and kind waitress who gave exceptional friendly staff service will definitely go again sometime! this restaurant is the ideal place for authentic Greek food.

I had to edit this review as a lot of things I had originally posted became outdated after a month. (I was here more than once in that month since I did enjoy it) So this is an amalgamated review. I debated between 3 and 4 on this visit, but ultimately went with a 4. The service was fine on this visit from our server. She took direction but not initiative. The food is generally good. I'm still waiting to find that dish that I have fall in love with and crave all the time. It didn't start out well. They had a water issue, which was the same water issue that was there from a month before that I guess is still not resolved. The water is yellow. They could not serve tap water or make tea. If tea, hot water, etc is important to you, you are out of luck. On this visit, I had brought a group of people from out of town to try Helios. Originally they had platters which were priced well for their assortment of items to try. We were told they no longer have them. They were meant for customers to try everything and get a taste of the food, but since they have been here long enough, they felt it was no longer necessary. We were disappointed to hear that as it made for great presentation and was nice to have a sampling. Portion sizes are large for everything. When we went originally there seemed to be 3 sizes for salads. Half salad is not the same as a starter. (Pictures below show the difference). We used the Pellegrino can to help show size. However I am unsure if they changed that since. We went for lunch this time (the other times it was dinner) If you order the fries with fish expect a lot of fries and only a little fish. The full serving of calamari I felt was not as good as the side that you add to your meal. Its almost the same in value, but half portions often cost more. So if you do want all that calamari go ahead, but half portions are equally fine. The slouvaki lunches seemed to be the best value and looked well balanced. The caviar dip this time was not as good as the first time we tried it. Highlights was flaming cheese because... Flames. The pan is larger where the cheese is a smaller piece in the center. It comes served with pita bread. There was a lot of dressing on our half salad and a more moderate amount (I preferred this one) on our starter, which makes me feel it can be inconsistent. Service is standard. Some are better than others. They usually did not go out of their way, but they were friendly and did their job. I feel like the pricing is fair for what you get. I appreciated everything came out piping hot.

You won't be leaving hungry here!!!! Amazing food, generous portions, friendly welcoming service and great daily specials! All the appitizers are delicious, the deepfried mushrooms and pickles are heavenly and the humas is very tasty and one of the better I've had while eating out. The Greek salad pictured with garlic bread is only a side salad, I cannot imagine a full sized one! Two chicken breasts stone cooked with spinach and feta. Stuffed pepper with spiced ground beef, both come with lemon potatoes, rice and grilled vegetables. Crazy reasonable prices, do not pass this up!

Very pricey meal, the service was good although when I asked for a glass of water nobody else was offered water. The food... My Caesar salad that came with my meal was so vinegary it made my face do that vinegar sweat thing and my chicken Parm came so overcooked that I could barely cut through it and it was charred on the bottom. Who serves food almost burnt to a crisp?? I sent it back, the replacement was slightly thicker and cooked a bit better. By the time my replacement arrived,, the other people with me had finished their food so I just put it in a takeout box. I was put off by the "no substitutions" at the top of each meal category. I would have much preferred the option of soup or salad rather than being forced to have the salad and I think that fettuccine alfredo is an odd accompaniment to chicken Parm. But "no substitutions"! My husband's meal was much better than mine - he ordered the pork souvlaki which was the special. He would probably come back. I won't. There was only one other table occupied while we were there at 6:00 on a Monday night.

Went early afternoon for a light lunch. The calamari was good but a small portion for the price.Greek lemon soup was too watered down compared to other local Greek restaurants. Greek salad was a large portion but IMO too much vinegar, Dressing could be a bit more creamier. It was an expensive light lunch.Service good as only 2 tables full. I would not go again....sorry this place is not comparable to my favourite Greek restaurants in Winnipeg

I've tried Helios a few times in hopes that maybe I just ordered their lesser dishes. Unfortunately upon ordering their burger week burger I was, again, very disappointed. I expected a lot more from a burger that costs $20. It's was basically a regular burger smothered in meat sauce and feta, but cost twice as much as it should. I once again feel like I spent too much for something that left me hungry and dissatisfied.

First time eating here, and I was very satisfied with the experience. The two appetizers (calamari and deep fried zucchini) were served hot to our table and tasted freshly breaded. The Greek salad and garlic bread as starters were very tasty and good portion. Greek salad only had 2 black olives, but I didn't mind because I don't like them myself. The feta wasn't quite the best to me but still good. The entrees (pork tenderloin skewers, and stuffed pepper) arrived at our table after a short wait and we're hot. The meals themselves were very tasty. The lemon potatoes were very good and a nice bite. The tenderloin was very tangy and super tender. Overall it's a premium meal at a premium price that's well earned. We ordered 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and a drink each and the total was 84$. Or 42$ a person. Not bad considering the quality and quantity of food we recieved. Would definitely come again, next time I'm looking for a premium dining experience.

Tasty food with big portions and good service! Get the cheese flambe for a great spectacle and delicious flavor! Had their appetizer platter and it was enormous! Hell, even their side salads seem like main dishes here. Another nice thing is they cook everything to order that way it comes out hot and tasty. With a multitude of dishes to choose from, large portions and fresh hot food this is a great place to go for food. I would say it may even be a nice place to take a date because it takes some time for them to prepare the food so that way you have some time to chat before your food arrives at the table.

I've been wanting to go to Helios for a very long time to try their authentic Greek food. Today my family and I went in and we were greeted and seated right away. It is 30 degrees outside today and they do not have air conditioning. They had fans but we were seated where there wasn't any. There was also a very fragrant air freshener that was bothering my mom. She wanted to take a medication for it but we had not been given water and there was only one person working. We'll definitely go back and try again on a day when it's not so hot. I can't rate the food at all but the condition of the restaurant was unfortunate.

Our party went to this restaurant for joint birthdays. The waitress was absolutely terrible! I had to yell across the room to give my order. My salad came before my appetizer, even though everyone else's appetizers already came. My wife's salad did not come with the promised garlic bread so had to ask for that. Had to ask 3 times for refills. Asked 3 times "where is my appetizer". Our waitress dropped the cheese shaker and vinegar on the table right in front of me. All the main meals, except for mine finally came more than an hour after we ordered. My meal came 5 minutes later which to my surprise included my appetizer, which I was not pleased about at all because I would've preferred having it at the same time as everyone else (before the salads). With all that in mind, the food was very delicious, but I will say, it was not worth the wait. The food was nothing special compared to anywhere else. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. I've had way better at Olive Garden with way less of a wait time, better salad and bread sticks. The only thing that was better was the size of the portion, so much that I took more than half of it home because I filled up on my appetizer that again, came with my meal instead of 30 minutes earlier. Overall, I did not enjoy the experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. A major change to the service is needed, or this restaurant will not last very long.

This review is long time due. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good. One a Thursday morning, I was the first customer to walk in, ordered salad and calamari. To be honest, the lettuce was stale and dry, and the calamari was fried in old oil. I could smell the old oil and the calamari turned out to come brown. However I was starving, so didn't bother to send it back to the kitchen. I forgot to bring my wallet. They were kind enough to hold my car keys for a while. I came back with my wallet later to pay.

Dropped by for a quiet meal. We were promptly received by both the host and the waitress who informed us of all the specials and were more than happy to answer our questions. We had ordered the mixed souvlaki and the traditional gyros with Greek salads. The main course was delicious and the portions were big enough to comfortably share if you were looking for a lighter dinner. My one complaint was that that I found the Greek salad to be a little over-dressed but thats just personal preference. The rest of the experience made up for it. Looking forwards to coming back here and I definitely recommend at least giving it a try.

Have been here many times and overall was good. Went there for Mother's Day and waited 2 hours to eat! We were all very hungry and got our only appetizer we ordered about an hr after sitting down. Little did we know we were going to wait another hour for the food. I wished they would have informed us or given us an indication of the time. It would have been the right thing to do. Overheard a server say they only had one cook. The owner's response? Sorry, but it is what it is because of the size of our restaurant.If it wasn't for someone else at the table convincing me for everyone to stay, I would have walked out.

Our office has done two catering orders with Helios (Nov 2020 and Aug 2021) and were so happy with everything. Nick was quick to respond via email regarding menu and quantity recommendations and very pleasant to deal with. Food was delivered hot and on time. We had a great selection of food that gave my vegetarians and celiac guests lots of options. So far we have tried the Chicken Souvlaki, Gyros, Rice a la Helios, Lemon Potatoes, Roasted Veggies, Greek salad, spanakopita, Avgolemono (Greek soup), pita, hummus, tzatziki and baklava and all were fantastic! Got chicken souvlaki. Came with greek salad and toast and they were both great! Chicken was tender and nicely grilled. The meal came with roasted veggies and lemony potatoes (which my husband didn’t like too much but I loved it!) Their tzatziki sauce is not too garlicky (which may be good or bad for you depending on your preference.) The inside is clean and warm especially since it was -1 outside.

Took my Mrs there for an early anniversary supper. The food was very good, As well the service was great. Very importantly we found the place to be kept very clean. Having grown up in the restaurant industry this is a very good indicator on how the restaurant is. The Decor though could use improvement as it is more like a family restaurant or lunch type diner than a fine food establishment but I am sure this will come.

My family and I celebrated mother's day one week earlier and by chance came to this restaurant to celebrate. We had the most gracious, considerate, and overall kindest waitress named Richelle. My parents don't speak English well and often times it's hard to order for them since they cannot read the menu. The worst thing that could have happened, happened when my parents had complaints about certain food restrictions that my sister and I failed to remember when we ordered, it was at no fault to the restaurant, just our forgetfulness. I have never in my 30 years of living seen or experienced such professionalism in how Richelle handled the situation. The food was amazing, but Richelle is the reason I'd come back and tell all my friends about this place. Richelle, wish I could give you a raise.
