Basically the burger I had at my friend's wedding was so disheartening it made me go vegetarian. I felt so gross after eating that. They were so overcooked that the cheese had become like a plastic McDonald's toy. The bacon was so hard it could have chipped my teeth. The Greek salad had vegetable chunks so big it was like chewing on baseballs. I cannot lie, the beans were out of this world!

I attended a wedding where Copper Kettle was the caterer and I was shocked at how dry, cold, hard and burnt the burger was. I love burgers and was super excited to enjoy a "gourmet" burger from a professional caterer. I thought it was just a one-off burnt/dry burger. But sadly 4 others (just from my table of 10) said theirs were also burnt and dry. I was so disappointed and did not even finish my burger. I don't know anyone who likes burnt, cold, overdone or hard burgers. Judging by the amount of half eaten burgers left on other tables this was clearly the norm.

BUYER BEWARE: We used Copper Kettle Catering Company out of Sarnia and the food and service were fantastic, however I urge you to double check your invoice! When we got our invoice, after we paid in full, prior to the wedding, we noticed that we were charged 18% gratuity on top of rental items as well as a service charge, plus he originally charged us gratuity on the HST. It is normal to pay HST on gratuity because it is a charge the company is charging you, but not to pay gratuity on the entire total after tax. We were refunded the gratuity that we paid on top of the tax as well as our deposit, but after we complained numerous times about being charged gratuity on rental items the owner, Dan said he would refund our money. After a couple weeks, we called again, he said he had sent it but it must have gotten lost, he will resend it. We still haven't received it. We got married September 7th, 2013. I am assuming we are not getting our refund. I opened a file with BBB but they did not respond to them either. Seeing all these awful reviews I see that I wasn't the only one regretting dealing with them. TAKE PRIDE ON YOUR WORK, COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS AND DON'T RIP PEOPLE OFF! As a business owner myself, I see a lot of brides come through my door. I will definitely not be recommending this company, I'm fact I always share my experience. I wonder how many others that this "miscalculated" and the customer didn't notice.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!! They were over an hour late arriving at the venue - while guests were waiting expecting appetizers prior to the main meal and then receiving what looked like two trays of fruit and vegetables that came from Costco for around 200 people, and once they started the main meal - it was over cooked to the point of being burnt, they put out potato salad (that contained mayonnaise) in the heat an hour before serving. And to top it off the servers treated the guests as if Copper Kettle was being out - when instead it was the other way around. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY. Imagine your son or daughter having a wedding and the caterer arrives over an hour late putting the parents in an embarassing position . The only one allowed to be late is the bride. Professionalism, quality and service is what Copper Kettle is NOT!!!! __________________ In response to Copper Kettles reply to my complaint. For all that are reading these reviews you must note that 3 other guests posted a level 1rating review with exactly the same complaints - which discredits Copper Kettles explanation of their actions. You will also note that 4 additional guests posted a level 1 rating but did not include any details. Again - don't trust this company.

The staff at Copper Kettle were helpful with menu choices for our recent outdoor retirement party. The poutine, samosas, pulled pork and meatballs in honey garlic sauce were incredible!! ( I was not a fan of the pasta primavera salad.) Communication was timely. Be sure to read their policies carefully. They are not cheap, but they are good!

IF YOU WANT YOUR WEDDING RUINED... I would give them 0 stars. Copper Kettle Catering absolutely cheated, scammed and dishonoured my husband & I. this company doesn’t care about anyone but wanting a ton of money. 1. we originally wanted to have our own desert and cocktail hours snacks, but due to their unruly contract they were absolutely not flexible. eventually I was able to convince them to have my own dessert and I was only able to do hand held treats (cookies, brownies etc) 2. they wouldn’t allow outside bartenders, and when you go through them they will not allow you to select how much alcohol you want. because they are worried if you were to run out it would look bad on them, coming from a christian lifestyle not many people at our wedding were heavy drinkers but insisted on a set amount. WAY more than what we knew people would drink, and at the end if you don’t consume the alcohol they only give you 50% of the price you paid per can. 3. unfortunately we had to move locations to somewhere else due to a faulty wedding venue, they charged over 5000$ just to move venues. 4. THE FOOD WAS DRY. we had burgers and they were SUPPOSED to be gourmet as per the catering said they offered. the burgers were hockey pucks & our guests were NOT pleased. 5. THEY CAME LATE. they were an hour late to our wedding. and delayed our reception times. 6. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. they will take advantage and make any excuse in the book as to why you must do what they say and are not FLEXIBLE at all. 7. They LIE about how much alcohol was consumed and only give you MINIMAL AND I MEAN MINIMAL money back for it. 8. if you change anything on the proposal given & agreed to they charge you 50% of what you had on there. so you may as well stinkin keep it on their because either way they are making money off you. 9. these people are greedy, horrible & Heynis people to work with. THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. SORRY, who’s wedding is it again? HONESTLY, please don’t go with Copper Kettle Catering. we wish no one has to go through what we had gone through. and, had money lost. we are devastated by this experience & no one should have to have their wedding day feel the way ours did. we wouldn’t be in half as much debt if it wasn’t for this company. DONT DO IT. I beg you.

Just had my wedding may 27,2017 we booked last mintue with copper kettle at the beginning of May as we had issues with another company. I delt with Carissa and she was able to make me an appointment to come in and look at the show room to start planning, we only had two weeks to decide on what we wanted done and to pay the amount up front so it was very important to either call or email back and forth with quotes and ideas. Carissa always called or emailed back right away. The Dante club Is where we got married and had our reception, they decorated the hall exactly the way we wanted with such short notice! Super pleased with the turn out and how polite and professional they were.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I hired Copper kettle to set up chairs for my wedding in the park a couple weeks ago. They were to come at noon, set up 60 chairs, then come back at 3 to pack them back up. My father in law went to the park early, and Cooper kettle showed up at 1130. They then dumped the chairs on the grass and left before I could arrive. My father in law (who recently has had some health issues), was left to set the chairs up himself. Copper kettle then came back at around 4, and just sat there. I assume they were waiting for us to pack the chairs up. That wasn't happening. Eventually they came and packed the chairs up themselves. My wife emailed Dan to complain about this terrible service. We paid them to set up the chairs. We did not get what we paid for. Of course, it's been 2 weeks and we have yet to hear a response. I would not hire, nor recommend, this company to anyone. If they can't do a simple job such as setting up 60 chairs, or responding to a customers email, I can only imagine what the rest of their "services" are like Edit: I have never had a company respond to a complaint by demanding it be changed to a 5 star review. The wedding was long since over when they arrived, and the only people there were the wedding party having photos done. And, coincidentally, they were able to respond to us less than 24 hours after posting this review, basically telling us we were out of luck. I think the amount of one star reviews you'll see for this company speaks for itself. Avoid them at all costs

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. absolutely atrocious. The “gourmet burgers” were HOCKEY PUCKS. they were burnt to a crisp. the bride and groom were completely ripped off by this awful catering company. i hope you guys are shut down or change the way you do things. awful customer service, treated the bride and groom completely disrespectfully, and arrived LATE AT THE WEDDING, THAT THEY WERE PAID 5000$ EXTRA TO TRAVEL. If youre looking to be ripped off, and have burnt food and not enough salad for the guests you paid for, go with this company.

I wish there was an option but 1 is the lowest. Was a guest at a wedding on the weekend and felt so sorry for the bride and groom. The Copper Kettle did the catering and it was the worst. For two hundred guests they gave us two trays of fruit and two trays of vegetables. Dinner was gourmet hamburgers that were as hard as shoe leather. One guest asked if they had any burgers that weren’t burnt. I asked the groom’s parents what the Copper Kettle charged to do something like this and the number that gave me was absolutely crazy and they should request their money back...Based on our experience, we would not recommend this catering company to anyone.

Most of the wedding attendees have already wrote exactly what occurred so I wont get into it but when you have multiple people writing the same story, it says something. As well, the copy and paste style replies this company comes back with are laughable and 90% are completley lies and are pretty unprofessional taking zero responsibility. If this catering company did such a fantastic job like they said they did, wouldn't they have more than a 2.9 star review? Do yourself a favour and find another company, skip the risk of a horrible experience like I witnessed my good friends experience.

Updated - January 29,2018 please everyone refer to the unprofessional response provided by these "Professional's" to the review I wrote earlier listed below. Copper Kettle is an awful business. I really could sit and reply to their response in which they discuss my fathers death and their deepest "sympathy's" which is really similar to the letter they sent to our home but , this time they forgot to ask us to refrain from writing our reviews and to remove our previous reviews but I wont do that. I am sure there are enough genuine ppl on here who can read through these types of ppl. Thanks for the response guys, look fwd to the next one so we can keep this bad press going. Original Post - I have this long winded review I would like to write to inform ppl of my experience with copper kettle but, I thought I would cut right to the point. The Customer service especially from the owner (DAN) was appalling. Don't use Copper Kettle when you have some many other options of working with ppl that care. Please don't trust your big moments in life with Copper Kettle and their owner

I was at a family wedding where they did the tent and other rentals and I watched as they installed everything ..... nice work and everything was in great shape... very impressed!

Jenn Brown

We hired Copper Kettle to cater our wedding in August and we couldn't be happier. The food and the servers were great. They put up a big tent for us and supplied all our rentals and most of our decorating and their bartenders kept us supplied with cold drinks all night. When we first contacted them, they gave us a quote with everything written down so we could see what we were getting. They let us make changes to the menu because we had some food issues in the family. They followed up with us a few weeks after the wedding and gave us our final bill which didn't have any surprises in it. From start to finish, they were easy to work with and I would highly recommend them. We are still hearing back from our guests who are raving about the food and service

I would recommend reading the fine print which their representative decided not to go over with us at the time of the signing. We had a series of events come up and we had to cancel three months in advance. Even though no service was rendered they refuse to return our deposit and when I inquired about at least having half of it returned I was just ignored. The only positive things I can say is that I didnt have to pay anything above my downpayment which was also in the fine print. I understand from the business perspective however you have to be prepared for circumstances like this. Given the notice a little compassion would have went a long way.

Brad Hiller

Great staff to work with. From start to finish they did a fantastic job setting up our tent and feeding our 150 guests. Food was excellent and service was outstanding. I highly recommend them.

Myah Robertson

Burgers weren’t “cooked to varying degrees” they were just burnt. Unprofessional own up to your errors.

Thank you Copper Kettle for making our wedding spectacular! From the very first email communication, to the tent collection after the event, everything was easy and stress free, Just what you want for a wedding! Food was delicious, staff was great fun and everything was made easy with your catering, tent and party rentals making it a one stop shop. Thanks again, looking forward to our next event with you!

I was a guest at a wedding and the food was catered by this company. The food at a wedding is what people look forward to after the big day. MAN OH MAN.....what a disappointment that was. I didnt even want to give my child the food that is how bad it was. Very unprofessional company if you ask me. Also your responses to comments just goes to show it. I was a guest at the wedding and during the whole cocktail hour when your suppose to be getting some food to snack on... well it was not there on time IT WAS LATE people were standing around wondering where the food was at?...and then to top it all of when the food finally arrived as you can imagine people were hungry so they flocked to the food like hungry vultures. By the time i got to the food there was literally nothing... not even enough to serve the amount of guests. The main course was the biggest disappointment. SAD. You say every likes their burger cooked a certain way... what is that hard as a brick? because its funny everyone had the same thing so clearly there was no options? The Salads were SOUPY after that I was gone....HOME to eat the REAL food in my fridge. Save your money and go somewhere else. If i was the bride id be asking for my money back.

On Sept 14, 2019 our daughter got married. We had contracted Copper Kettle to provide the whole package wedding venue. The Tent, table, chairs, catering, bar, staff, etc. The whole kit and caboodle. Three days before the wedding they called our daughter and told her that they cannot provide the catering. Their entire catering staff quit. Yeah, 3 days before the wedding. You have no idea how much stress this put on the bride. (Oh by the way, she just found out she was pregnant.) We were fortunate enough to have another caterer bail us out, at a premium price. Cooper Kettle did come and provide the tent, table, chairs, and the wrong colored table cloths, but what else could we do. The groom and other members of the wedding party basically setup and arranged all the furniture in the tent the day before the wedding. Not something they should of had to do. Now for the best part. We had prepaid for a good part of the package, which included the catering portion. Now that the wedding is over, Cooper Kettle owes us part of the money we prepaid back. They refuse to return any of our phone calls, emails, the works. Not surprising they seemed to have fallen off the earth. We aren't talking about a lot of money. It's the principal of it. We contracted them to provide a service. They failed to complete the contract we have a signed for. And now they are completely ignoring us. We are now seriously considering legal action. The moral to this story, be very careful when dealing with these people.

We had Copper Kettle for a wedding on Sept. 7, 2019. The equipment was in good shape, the catering food was good. My issue is complete lack of communication.. Phone calls and emails do not get returned. We had questions and concerns, and when they finally came to set up, made a comment "see you worried for nothing". All you had to do was retun 1 message and we would not have been "worried". It is now 4 days after the event and they still have not returned for all of equipment. Ridiculous!

Don't do it. The burgers were as hard as hockey pucks. The so called Greek salad was more like Greek punch because a third of the salad bowl was liquid. The wine was off and tasted like warm vinegar. The apps of vegetables fed about 50 people of a 180 people wedding. Complete face-palm on this one.

Copper kettle Did our wedding on Aug 3 2019, they were beyond amazing, everything was set up perfect and the food was absolutely amazing, Dan and his crew were Awsome and stayed til 12 am to tear everything down, the chicken and garlic smashed potatoes and carrots every single guest commented on how amazing it all tastes, I dunno about all the other reviews, but Dan you and your crew went above and beyond for us, thank you for everything!!

Ruth Mattingley

I want to thank the great staff at Copper Kettle for all of their help in organizing the rentals for our party. The staff helped me determine our needs accurately. The quality of the rental materials was excellent and the staff that did the setup were great! They arrived when they said they would and took everything done in a timely and efficient manner. Special thanks to Stacey and Dan for your advice and always getting back to me quickly. You guys were great!

Absolutely The Worst!!! They were over an hr. Late! Charged a ridiculous amount for what they served! The guys that were there rushed to set up were sweaty...because it's summer and it's hot! They We're Also the ones cooking...eww! The girls tending the bar had the personalities of a stump! There was supposed to be an appetizer hr...did not happen, supposed to have wine on the table...didn't happen! The meal....burnt and awful! All of our hearts went to the Bride & Groom and The Parents if The Groom who worked so hard to have a beautiful day. Overcharged 100%..and where was the service?? Absent!!! Stay clear of this company!! 0 stars!!!!

Absolutely disgusted with this company. No compassion, zero respect for customers. I will make it my mission to warn as many people as I can. Please do not support this business. My mother put a deposit down for a tent rental for my brother's wedding, tragically my father is terminally ill with only a few weeks to live. The wedding has been postponed until an undetermined date. My mom called to cancel the tent rental and the owner wouldn't even consider giving back her deposit, it wasn't even prime rental season. Show a little compassion, every day my mom suffers, a simple act of kindness would have went a long way. Shame on you. UPDATED - January 29, 2018. I would also like to respond to the comments from Copper Kettle below because they are an outright lie - the only truth is that yes, my mother did call to cancel three weeks in advance (during down season might I add). Sorry we weren't able to find out my father was dying sooner. My mother explained the situation and while she was aware of the cancellation policy she asked for compassionate consideration, which not only was she not offered, she was rudely told that the policy was the policy. By that point she had so many other things on her plate she let it go. But imagine how wonderful it would have been for your company to offer her a refund? A woman who is going through the worst time in her life, showed a bit of compassion when she needed it most? Jump ahead a few months, we received letter from one of your associates ("Dan") asking us to take down our review, that is was hurting your business and basically scolding us from speaking negatively about your company online. The point of Google Reviews is to be open and honest and provide people with real life feedback of their experiences. Our real life experience was awful. You are a company that cares about nothing other than the bottom line. I held off writing my original review, hoping we could have this resolved privately. It is clear now that will not happen. Good business (especially the event business) is built on a foundation of customer loyalty, you have lost a customer (and I hope a few more from this review).

You guys rock!!! I am so happy with the way everything turned out for my wedding and you guys were such a big part of making it all happen. Your tent guys worked through 2 very hot days and got everything set up just right and in plenty of time for me to decorate. The food was awesome and the bartenders mixed up some great Caesar's!!! I can't thank you enough for all you did for us. Your office team was very flexible and always got back to me right away. Thank you so much!!! P.S. The air conditioned fancy washroom trailer was a BIG HIT!!!

Very courteous staff who do everything possible to make sure your event is perfect. I will use these guys again.

Once an issue arise there will be absolutely zero communication from the business. My Fiancee and I went to Copper Kettle to rent tables, chairs, bar services, etc. for our wedding. We were introduced to Copper Kettle Catering at a Wedding Show and Tom the Sales Associate seamed absolutely wonderful answering all of questions. We met with Copper Kettle a few weeks later at their Sarnia location and they provided us with a draft contract with all of the necessary items. After multiple weeks of emails and getting everything finalized we were ready to confirm and sign the contract. After reading the fine print we requested a sentence to be added to ensure the security deposit would be returned in a certain amount of weeks (the time frame didn't matter it was decided by copper kettle, but wanted to time frame in the contract), since there was no time limit. After a week or so this was approved by Head Management at Copper Kettle, after the discussion i was told that the administration department would update the contract and send it through for approval in a few days. Three and a half weeks later after multiple phone calls, messages and e-mails i have gotten a response from no one at the company at either location! Apparently if you don't want to read the fine print of your contract and hand over money with no intention of getting it back in a timely manner these guys are the people for you! If you like to keep track or your money, and like someone to return phone calls GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Worst experience ever.

Stacy Shantz

Our order was incorrect when we arrived to pick it up. The 15 chairs we rented were absolutely filthy and needed to be cleaned which took us nearly an hour. The staff told us that they had been cleaned, but this is very obviously not the case. They charge 3.5% for use of a credit card. This is apparently listed in the contract that we were never sent. I would have simply paid in cash. Incorrect hours of operation were listed on Google, staff explained this was out of their control but somehow were able to quickly have it changed. No one was in the building when I arrived on Monday morning to return the rented items.. When I phoned on Tuesday to discuss the charges on my credit card I was hung up on three times before getting through to an employee. When I asked why that had happened they explained, we are having phone issues. It seems that Copper kettle has too many issues to allow them to hold up their simple end of the event you are planning. Incompetent from start to finish.

Copper Kettle catered our wedding this past summer and we are thrilled with how everything turned out! We worked with several of their team members throughout the entire plannng process and they made it so easy for us. From the tent going up to the decorating, the appetizers and then dinner and the bar, everything went so smoothly. We are still hearing back from our guests about their great experience. Their entire team was so wonderful and the food was so awesome, I can't say enough good things about them!

Katie Wilson

Thank you so much for helping make my wedding day spectacular! I am still hearing back from my guests about how much they enjoyed everything. You guys made it so easy to work with you even with all the last minute changes and requests!

I am not quite sure what to do anymore as I've reached a standstill with Copper Kettle Catering. In order to alleviate some feelings of disappointment, helplessness and frustration I wanted to share our experience. In all honestly, my review on them as a company would be different if they would of followed through as promised and some of the minor issues we dealt with wouldn't be expressed. Their lack of integrity and blatant disregard for customers is why I am writing this. We used Copperkettle for both rentals and catering for our wedding August of 2016. First I want to stress that the staff who set up our tent and serviced our wedding were great. The quality of food and rentals are not an issue. The issue we had is in communication and with the owner and coordination staff. I had to make numerous phone calls to find out when items would be delivered. In regards to the owner he was quite combative and overall added stress to the day. According to our contract, we were to have twinkle lights set up behind the head table and he argued whether this was on the contract or not just a few hours before the wedding. I feel customer service should be about working together, not pointing fingers and undermining the customer. Other discrepancies related to a dimmer light that we paid for not being installed, as well as only one chef on site when our contract clearly states that we paid for two. Now that the wedding is over we are looking for reimbursement for the dimmer light and adjusted staff hours (you pay an average of hours and once timecards are submitted, adjustments are supposed to be made). I've been repeatedly calling and emailing for almost three months and no solution has been reached. I've repeatedly been told that it is dependent on the owner reviewing but that it would be dealt with. I've been transferred to different staff who say they will followup but when I call back after no contact for multiple days they vaguely remember speaking with me and again make empty promises. Any attempts at contact are now being ignored, even after speaking and leaving a message with the owner. At this point, it really isn't about the money which honestly is only a few hundred dollars but it is the principal of the matter. My parents paid quite a bit of money to Copper kettle, so we expected more. It seems that since they have already received our payment they have no intention on making things right. It is disheartening to say the least. Id also like to add that I posted this review on their facebook page and within minutes it was deleted and they have now disabled visitor comments. It is disappointing to say the least that they have time to censor customers but not respond. Edited to add- The owner Dan finally contacted me via email to state that we owed them money instead of them. There was no apology for the less than ideal handling of things. When asked for more information on what was being stated that we owed, that it was no where in the contract what he was asking and that I would not blindly give him money, he seized communication.

Copper Kettle Catering catered our wedding on August 3rd and they did and amazing job! The food was to die for and would hire them again for any event!! Once again their food was amazing!!!! Thank you guys for everything!!!!!!

We had Copper Kettle both cater and decorate our wedding this past weekend and I could not have asked for anything better. We didn't want anything elaborate or over the top just something small and intimate and they delivered just that. When I walked into the venue for our rehearsal everything was all set up and exactly the way I envisioned it right from the lace overlay on the tables to the hanging lights on the beams it was absolute perfection. Fast forward to the dinner and I cannot say one bad thing about the meal. We went with a buffet style BBQ (compliments to Tom your burgers were amazing!!) and EVERYONE loved it. It was so nice to eat a meal that was still hot, at your own pace and with all the toppings you wanted just the way you wanted it. The staff was amazing as well, very polite and very professional, we even got the sunshine Dan ordered for us :) To Dan and the staff thank you so much for helping to make our day perfect!!

Nora Germain

Copper Kettle catering rented us a tent, tables, chairs, drinks table and lighting for my sons wedding. Right from the start Dan went out of his way to find a way to make the tent work in our backyard, even with trees and overhead wires. His team set up two days early and checked with us every step of the way. Our guests were very impressed with our set up and they even allowed us one extra day before they efficiently took down the party tent. I would definitely recommend Copper Kettle for your next event. They know their stuff!
