The restaurant was waiting for around 400 people according to one of the employees and the kitchen was a bit busy. The food was very good although the sauce on the braised veal was a bit too salty. The waiter was very accommodating and courteous throughout the service despite the delays. He often refilled our glasses of water and was available despite the high traffic. Je suis arrivé vers 16h45 et j'ai quitté vers 21h15. Le service était un peu lent avec l'ouverture officiel de la terrasse. Le restaurant attendait environ 400 personnes selon un des employés et la cuisine était un peu débordé. La nourriture était très bonne malgré que la sauce sur le veau braisé était un peu trop salé. Le serveur était très conciliant et courtois tout au long du service malgré les délais. Il nous a souvent rempli nos verres d'eau et était disponible malgré l'achalandage élevé. Je recommande cet endroit lorsqu'il n'y a pas de gros événements pour pleinement profiter de l'ambiance et du service.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We were four having dinner. Tartares were exceptional! For the tartare dinner you also get a small salad, fries and crostinis. Bread and butter were very creative. Finally our filet mignons were beautifully done. I found the music to be perfect for thus cool little place. The seating is not only “groovy” it was comfortable for the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

À se demander s’il voulait juste pas se pogner avec quelqu’un ce soir là. Son attitude était assez agressive pour que plusieurs employés se placent en demi lune autour de moi, c’était intimidant et inutile, je n’ai pas besoin d’en dire davantage pour imaginer la scène. Peu importe ce que votre gérant vous a raconté comme histoire, nous sommes conscient de notre erreur en ce qui concerne la personne supplémentaire mais JAMAIS personne ne devrait parler de cette façon à PERSONNE et encore moins un de vos clients qui a soigneusement choisi votre restaurant pour y célébrer un événement important. Pour finir, je voudrais tout de même remercier vos deux employés qui s’occupaient de nous au salon et qui étaient compréhensifs et surtout très découragés de l’attitude de votre gérant. Le serveur n'était pas sympathique avec nous et après un aussi mauvais service, nous n'avons pas laissé de pourboire et le serveur à eu le culot de me dire que ça lui fera plaisir de payer de l ' impôt pour nous. Je n'ai jamais été aussi mal servi dans un restaurant de toute ma vie. Le serveur nous a pris en grip dès le début et nous ne comprenons pas pourquoi, moi et mes amies sommes toujours sympathique avec les serveurs et serveuses. Très déçu, je pense sérieusement à ne jamais y retourner. Rien à dire au niveau de la nourriture qui est excellente même si je n'ai pas manger ce que j'avais choisi.

He instead spent the rest of the evening with a table of 3 young ladies as if he were in a bar (which was confirmed later when he danced standing on a counter while climbing the volume of music very loudly !) We contacted the restaurant twice after our visit without ever having an answer. It is very coherent with the experience they have made us live. Voyant que la serveuse était débordée, mon beau-père lui a demandé une autre bière en lui disant de l'apporter quand elle aurait le temps. Elle lui a répondu sèchement de finir son verre et d'attendre avant de commander car c'était à cause de des clients comme lui que le service était long ce soir. Mon ami a reçu la mauvaise entrée mais n'a jamais pu le dire à la serveuse qui était trop occupée avec ses autres tables. Comme le service avait été excessivement long il a décidé de manger la mauvaise assiette, celle qu'il n'avait pas commandée. Lorsqu'elle a apporté les soupes (le 2e service), beaucoup plus tard, il en manquait une. On a attendu 10 minutes qu'elle repasse pour lui dire et pour qu'on puisse manger en même temps (même si c'était rendu froid). Elle lui a rétorqué sèchement qu'il aurait dû lui dire avant et qu'il ne pouvait pas changer les entrées de la table d'hôte comme bon lui semble et elle est répartie avec sa soupe dont une seule bouchée avait été prise... pour la jeter dans les poubelles. Ce même ami a dû quitter plus tôt et a demandé de lui apporter sa facture dès qu'elle le pourrait alors qu'on mangeait encore le repas principal. Elle lui a répondu sèchement qu'elle était occupé et que ça allait attendre! Elle a apporté plus tard la facture... de tous et chacun alors qu'on mangeait encore le repas principal. Qu'elle surprise de voir qu'elle a chargé la table d'hôte à mon ami en plus de l'entrée de terrine (alors qu'il n'avait pas eu que le repas principal, sans l'entrée inclus, la soupe, le café et le dessert). La serveuse a repris quelqu'un sur le pourboire (il avait donné 15% avant taxes, pour ce service exécrable) en lui disant que ce n'était pas assez et qu'il avait mal compté. Aucun café ou dessert ne nous a été proposé alors que nous étions là pour un 30e anniversaire(!) et que plusieurs avaient sur leur facture salé des tables d'hôte à plus de 50$. La serveuse a quitté sans nous aviser et sans terminer le service. Nous étions 2 tables dans notre groupe dont la première s'est vidée partiellement plus tôt. Je suis allé voir le gérant pour lui demander s'il était possible de venir déplacer une table pour la coller à la grande table de ceux qui mangeait encore. L'espace le permettait et ça aurait réunis les 4 personnes restantes au groupe. Il m'a répondu que oui... mais sans jamais venir le faire. Il a plutôt passé le reste de la soirée avec une table de 3 jeunes demoiselles comme s'il était dans un bar (ce qui s'est confirmé plus tard quand il a dansé debout sur un comptoir en montant le volume de la musique très fort!) Nous avons contacté à 2 reprises le restaurant après notre visite sans jamais avoir de réponse. C'est très cohérent avec l'expérience qu'ils nous on fait vivre.

Nice restaurant with very well prepared food in a relaxed atmosphere and with friendly staff. They serve Canadian food, fresh ingredients of good quality. The size of portions are fine, their salmon tartare is good and so their short ribs. The desserts are also yummy. This restaurant is pretty close to the airport so it’s a good option for visiting prior or after a flight, specially if you had a large one as it was in my case.

Le fait saillant de la soirée a été le beurre à l'orange servis avec les petits pains...mais malheureusement, nous n'étions pas venu pour le beurre. Je ne pense pas y revenir. Trop cher et trop bruyant pour ce que c'est.

En table d’hôte, le Carpaccio de saumon (photo) et le provolone frit sont délicieux à l’entrée. Un riche potage du moment crémeux suit de manière parfaite la corbeille de pains chauds avec les deux choix de beurre déposés à votre table. Le poisson selon l’arrivage au choix du chef (42$) (photo) et le Rissoto aux champignons (49$), les accompagnements en légume sont bien judicieux. Comme c’est la coutume, la carte de vins n’est pas nécessairement bon marché. Gâteau fromage et café pour terminer. Le personnel est vraiment sympathique et dose bien son interaction avec la clientèle. La facture nous semble environ supérieure de 10% à ce qui permettrait de classer 5 étoiles, mais j’accorde 4 étoiles dans l’évaluation qualité/prix. Si vous n’avez qu’une seule facture, cela ne tient pas vraiment la route. Cependant, lorsque vous assumez plus de quatre personnes, cela devient clairement visible. Une soirée très appréciée. Je crois que le Commandant est un lieu différent qu’il faut absolument considérer pour des événements différents.
