This place is great period!!! There are many Italian restaurants in Montreal but none quite like this. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and the restaurant has a great atmosphere/ambiance. In my opinion it is the best Italian restaurant in Montreal. I have been at least 20 times and I have never had a bad experience. The guys that run that place and their staff are very friendly.

So I was told about this place a year and a half ago. My friends and I checked it out and in the span of a year we must have gone back as a group..maybe 15 times and an additional 5-7 times individually. Ive worked in restaurants... I am European we understand food. This place has very simply put: 1.very good quality and home made ingredients 2. Great tasting food 3.great for social gatherings, first time dates and just about anything you want from a restaurant. The staff? Well let's put it this way... It's obvious that they actually live their job are very good at what they do the service is impeccable. It's the first restaurant I can actually say is my favourite restaurant (I'm 39) lost of restaurant experience

The actual nicest, most welcoming, and friendliest staff. Every dish that I've tried (over the years of going) has been amazing. Food is well priced for an higher end steakhouse/italian resto. They take time to show you their specialties, help with your decisions, come see you during and after the meal to ensure satisfaction, etc... and it's a bring your own wine, so HUGE bonus.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this restaurant. We went out of our way to get to the restaurant, based on the reviews. It certainly wasn't terrible, but fell well short of our expectations and we probably won't be back given the distance. The wait times for our main course was nearly an hour at 9:15 at night. Not acceptable for a restaurant that was nearly empty with pretty substantial prices. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Service subpar. Unless you're in the area, I'd probably go to Joe Beef or another similar venue.

Everything was great. Even the service is exceptional and staff is super friendly. But the meals are pretty expensive I guess this is the price of pain for bring your own wine. There is an also positive side to free parking behind the restaurant.

I went to a surprise birthday party there and the food was excellent, from the appetizers to main and then at the end with a coffee (I asked for a regular tea instead). My table was a bit rowdy, but the waiter was phenomenal in dealing with it. I would definitely go again (I already do), and suggest it to any & everyone who likes Italian to go there. I have a lot of problems with eating italian since I have quite a few intolerances with most ingredients & preparation methods in italian cooking, but I had no problems eating there! I’m not sure what they do differently from the other italian restaurants, if it’s the quality of ingredients they use, or how they cook it, but just the fact that I can eat it and not have any reactions or take any pills for the intolerances is a definite must go back for me!

The Restaurant serves a variety of seafood and pasta, to meet the needs of a picky eater! Desserts are all homemade! :)

An incredibly consistent experience - excellent food and service. From steaks to pizza and pastas the food is incredible. Seafood casserole and Pesto Shrimp Spaghettini are must tries. Wife says crème brûlé is the best in the city. Don't forget to try Joe's meatball (when available)

Our group of 12 went for dinner on a Friday night. Looking back, I firmly believe this was the best meal of my life. When I say meal, I'm not singling out the food (although the food was stellar), I'm referencing the experience as a whole. Managing a group of 12 rowdy Americans on a Friday night is no easy task. And yet, our dinner couldn't have been more carefree, tasty, enjoyable, and seamless. Our server, Kevin, was absolutely outstanding. We based our meal solely on his recommendations and he knocked it out of the park. This dinner was the first event of our vacation in Montreal. La Campagnola properly set the stage for a great weekend and was a highlight of the trip. Thank you Kevin!

They newly decorated restaurant is lovely with reclaimed bar wood. The menu is now missing a table d'hote which is unfortunate. Also the menus has changed slightly so some of my favourites were missing. The burrata appetizer was very fresh and delicious as well as the calamari. The veal picatta was very tasty but I found the veal was slightly over cooked and not as tender as my husband's veal cognac. I definitely will go back because I really like this restaurant and hope some things will be reintroduced once people request them.

I had some guests from out of town. I made sure to serve them something special. I placed an order from this restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent, the service was top notch. I offered them a generous tip but they refused it. They helped load the food in my car. I am impressed and I would definitely return again

Great restaurant, fantastic staff, and out of this world food. When you come here expect to spend at least $75 per person, but you'll leave full and very satisfied. The stuffed gnocchi are a great choice, the steaks are all beautiful, my personal favorite are the Osso buco ravioli, it's hard to try anything else on the menu once you've had those. Their home made capicollo and flavored butters are always a fun little treat that you get before your meal.

We had the opportunity to meet Dino (one of the owners) and his passion and energy for what he has created in La Campagnola was contagious and refreshing after a long hard day`s work. That passion and energy is seamlessly nurtured and adopted by the staff. They took great care of us and helped us make wonderful choices for a memorable dinner. The Carpaccio in a salted truffle oil is still lingering in my mouth and in my brain! A must-try! The homemade gnocchi stuffed with 3-types of mushrooms in that gorgonzola sauce is absolutely delicious!! Thank you and your staff for making us feel so welcome. See you soon!

Excellent restaurant! Was invited by a friend who is a regular there and loves it and I have to agree a great find. Bring your own wine. Very high quality Italian fare that specializes in aged steaks but also has fish and seafood, pasta, etc. Had a polpette for appetizer and baseball sirloin for main and also tried the rack of lamb and all were excellent. For dessert the sea salt caramel cheese cake was delicious. Service was also prompt and courteous. Seems recently renovated with lots of barnwood and an open kitchen that is clean and fun to watch and can see the aged meats on display. Definitely recommend and would go back.

I heard about this place from a friend and tried it out. It was amazing. The food is authentic and really tasty. I had grilled octopus as a meal and my boyfriend had seafood pasta. Everything was so fresh and delicious. For dessert we didn’t have much room left but still tried the Nutella biscottis. They were homemade and filled with Nutella which was so good ! The service was really friendly and overall it was a great experience. I would definitely go back and try more things off the menu.

What a lovely discovery, this restaurant. You can't tell from the outside but it's prettily renovated, with a great menu and flawless service. The staff is super friendly and inviting, the food is delicious. We moved an hour away and my husband and I made it a point to come back to this restaurant for a date because we enjoyed it so much.

The food was ALRIGHT. The waiter we had was absolutely AWFUL. I will NEVER go back there. The restaurant did not want to cater to my dietary restrictions and the waiter acted as if it was the END OF THE WORLD to give me a “tortellini promodoro”. After the dinner was over and I had left the restaurant, I went out to my car and had gotten my tire slashed, I went back in to the restaurant to see if anyone from my party was still there and no one was. I told the waiter what had happened to my car and him and the othe waitors LAUGHED IN MY FACE I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AND I WILL MAKE SURE NONE OF MY FRIENDS DO EITHER. Worst service in the world.

It's kinda weird how such a tasty restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. All their seafood is exquisite, of a higher class than seafood in the cafeteria. You'll know what I mean when you taste their fried calamari or jumbo shrimp. Maybe it's the seasoning. The pizza is average, but the steak is pretty good quality. There's free bread, ham, butter, and paprika butter. Oh, bring your own wine.

Classic and comforting Italian. Generous portions, good food & ok service. The only problem is the acoustics & ambience. Very loud from all the patrons chattering, we couldn’t hear each other. We arrived after 8:30 and even after 10:30 with the restaurant partially full, it still was very loud. Nice entrance overlooking the kitchen area and service area. But minimal decor in the dining area (seem as an afterthought) with wood tables and chairs that are not so comfortable.

I was visiting Montreal, and my friend Carmen recommended that we have dinner at her favourite restaurant. I LOVED this restaurant. I'm a foodie and have dined at many Italian restaurants, and this was wonderful. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. I especially loved the buffalo mozzarella appetizer. It had so many different layers of flavour, peaches, walnuts, honey, truffle oil, balsamic, arugula...salty, sweet, crunchy, tender.... The aged steak was excellent. They served it with a side of spices and salts....including truffle salt...the warm bread was served with 2 kinds of flavoured butter. They went the extra mile to make it a wonderful experience not just gourmet wise, but also in service. At one point owner Dino came and sat with us at our table to chat about the food and the history of this family run restaurant. The waiters where so attentive, and kept asking us if we need something, By the time we left we felt we had a connection with everyone in there. I left very happy....and to me thats what eating out should be about...spending quality time with loved ones, eating wonderful food in an a welcoming and friendly environment, and leaving HAPPY.

It was our first time to La Campagnola and all I can say is WOW!!! We gave Kevin, our server, the go ahead to choose our dishes to share (group of 4) and our dinner turned out to be an amazing experience!!! The different flavors were superb and the bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon we had brought along were a perfect match. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Italian cuicine!!! And thank you Kevin for making our visit an awesome experience!!!

The restaurant has morphed from a traditional italian eatery to a 'steak' house. My son had the 8oz filet mignon plate which was a filet mignon served on a wooden board with a basket of fries...for $47 ouch. The filet lacked seasoning, wasn't too impressed with that dish. I had the veal marsala and it was good. I used to love going to this place as it was, and still is, BYOB. They also served amazing italian food. Since they changed the menu and decor, the restaurant has lost some of it's identity.

Average at best... I made a reservation through Open Table, but it was empty when we arrived so the reservation wasn't necessary and the host looked at me confused as to why I'd bother with a reservation in the 1st place... Also on my reservation was information that it was my birthday which they payed no attention to so I watched in silence while the woman at a table near me was sung to and had a dessert with a candle brought to her. My husband got the pork chop and I the veal in a lemon sauce- both cooked to perfection. Service was very slow as it took and hour for our food to arrive or maybe that's a Montreal thing because other restaurants here have been consistent in that manner. Overall, I'd say, La Campagnola was okay. I've definitely had better, but it's somewhere for the older crowd to pull out an antique bottle of wine from their home collection and enjoy with their friends (it's bring your own bottle). I wouldn't go back, but I'm glad my husband enjoyed his pork chop since he rarely has the chance for one at home.... They also deleted my Open Table reservation during our meal, so I'd be unable to review them which is dishonest and probably why they have a 4.5 rating.

We were there last night after 2 years of not being able to go (Pandemic), The place was looking good, the service as usual was out of this world but we were totally disappointed with our meal. It used to be amazing food but last night was not worth the money we paid for. I was told they could not change the pasta (from spaghettini to penne with my chosen sauce) as they were understaffed and all newbies in the kitchen. So I changed my choice and ordered Lasagna it was normal nothing spectacular as far as taste goes and my husbands pizza was quite sad (they had great presentation for it on a wood board) but looked like a frozen one.....! The other couple we were with, were as equally disappointed . I'm not sure what happened to this wonderful place but I can assure you we will not be going back soon. Sad very sad as it was one of our to go places !!

I wasn’t expecting an amazing restaurant in Lasalle! As soon as you step in, the staff is definitely ready to make you comfortable! The food is great and the fact that you can bring your own wine makes it even better! Easy parking, great place and amazing food to spend your evening! However, it was a bit overpriced.

From the outside, one could not expect what one will find once inside. Such a cozy, still alive place with good food. Everything from appetizers, main meal and desert, is delicious. Friendly, accomodating people. We will go back ( even if it's rather expensive????)

Favorite restaurant hands down. Been there 4 times in about 5 years, waiter still remembers me. EDIT (couple years after first post) : Been there for my birthday this month and amidst everything happening, service was even better than I remembered. My waiter ran after me as I was about to leave to bring back my forgotten S20+. Love the place even more, 10 ???? for me. Also, for those who don't know, everything is homemade from the bread to the pasta. If you want fast food, you go to fast food, if you want something that was prepared from scratch with quality above and beyond, you go to La Campagnola
