YES! Best place for smoked meats EVER! Be prepared to wait, especially on Friday & Saturday evenings BUT ITS SO WORTH IT! You can make reservations for days but those two & I recommend you do. The food is absolutely divine. Flavours are on point! Prices are great as you get so much more than you pay for. Staff is quick & friendly. The menu is perfect for anyone any age, so much to select from & combine!

AMAZING! We travel about an hour to come here. The first time we went during a weekend day right when the opened for the day. It was so quick and the food was amazing. Get a platter of food its delicious, cost effective and there is so bountiful! The second time we went with another couple on a Saturday. We knew they didnt take reservations for dinner. When we arrived (around 530 I think) we were told the wait would for an hour and half. We got some drinks and waited in the waiting area, even that area smelled so good. We got a table right around 1.5 hours later ordered an app (pig ends I think) and our friends already knew they wanted to come back and was well worth the wait! The food came quickly after ordering. We had a 3 meat platter and our friends got a 4 meat platter- WARNING there is a huge difference between 3 and 4 meat platters. They got SO MUCH FOOD! All the food was cooked to perfection. However I wouldn't really recommend the onion rings, just not my taste. By time we left we were already making plans for when we go back. We will go during a time you can make reservations or try takeout. Thank you for the great food!

When I'm in the kitchener Waterloo area I must come have the lancaster Smoke house. The beef brisket is always tender and juicy and the house BBQ sauce are amazing. The fried chicken and smoke wings are unreal. If you havent eaten here you missing out. They are generally quite busy with wait times around dinner so get there early. Service and servers are nice and friendly.

Staff were very nice, one let me borrow their phone to find my bus home and was very patient with me [sorry and thanks again!] Pull pork sandwich and the bbq sauce was damn good, I'm surprised on how much meat they fit in one sandwich Mac and cheese side, very creamy but could use some more salt but nothing I can't fix myself. Interior and patio really fit the vibe, I like it Washroom very clean

When we want BBQ there is only one place to go and that is the Lanc. OK Lancaster Smokehouse. We try and get there at least once a month . there Ribs , Brisket ,Wings All smoked to perfection is to good to talk about! They have all sorts of other good things hush-puppies , salads Deserts and of coarse Beer & other beverages.Just give it a try once and you will be hooked.

I normally give this place 5 stars unfortunately we got the ribs and both times they came out with BBQ sauce burnt. The server did her best to smooth it over. The manager never came over and checked which I felt odd. But all.my other experiences here were 5 star.

First time coming here and the food was amazing! I completely underestimated the portions and had enough food for dinner there, and two rounds of leftovers the next two days! The food was delicious, I had the ribs, wings, brisket and the pulled pork. Afterwards I had the mini-egg cheese cake which was pretty lack-luster, but I came for the meats not the dessert.

Nice spacious environment. The mac n cheese could have been richer in flavour and consistency but was good nonetheless; bbq chicken thighs were skinnless and small in size which i thought an odd choice for a bbq establishment, but the bbq marinade was quite delicious, and chicken was juicy. The cornbread was flavorful but perhaps a tad dry. All in all a good meal but nothing to rave about.

Well priced, great atmosphere and good food. Only complaint was the ribs were extremely fatty for all 4 of us, to the point where we couldn't chew any of them. Some of the brisket was similar (the rest was fantastic!). Their portions are huge so wasting half of it didn't bother us too much though.

Absolutely amazing! I got the brisket and chicken with sweet potato fries and coleslaw which was DIVINE. I love how the interior feels spacious, so that means I can eat comfortably. The waiter was really nice and patient! I will say, the coleslaw does need a little more seasoning or some sort of acid because it tasted bland and thinned out. Other than that, amazing food.

Probably the est restaurant of all of KW region, a MUST TRY restaurant if you're ever visiting the region. As I arrived the hostess was a quite rude to me and didn't really ask the proper questions of what a hostess might say such as "Hi do you have a reservation" or a greeting "Hi! Welcome!" Other than the rude entrance of a hostess, the server was tremendously friendly and kind during the stay. The food prices are worth for the portion served although the cornbread portion can be improved. The smoked meats were mouth watering good as well as the fries and tater tots. Can't wait to visit this smokehouse again! Hopefully the rude hostess won't be there presently.

So much delicious food and it's not too expensive. If you go with lots of people and share, it's really worth it. The music is live but was a bit loud last time I went, so it was hard to make conversation. Service is great , they're really accommodating. Really recommend pulled pork, brisket, and chicken wings, so tender and juicy.

The Lancaster Smokehouse is an epic restaurant ... incredible and mountainous amounts of food, a cavernous and packed interior, delightful and welcoming atmosphere ... with a friendly and helpful staff. We resisted coming here for a while, having had some bad experiences with "authentic Southern BBQ" restaurants in the last couple of years. But tonite, on a whim we decided to go, and are we glad we did. The food was incredible ... the brisket was perfectly smoked, juicy and tender ... the moist ribs had perfect separate-from-the-bone resistance ... the pulled pork was smoky yet tender. All their sauces were spot on, as was their (you gotta ask for it) hot sauce, perfect for dipping for those who like it a little hot. Oh yeah, we'll definitely be back! And we'll bring reinforcements ... and we won't eat for a day, maybe then we'll have a chance to clean our plates.

Went for wing nights on a Monday. Had 3 different flavours of wings - Hot BBQ, Sweet BBQ and dry Cajun, all which were pretty good. Service was quick and nice. If you go on a Saturday make sure you go early, like earlier than 5pm, it gets busy and waits can be over an hour. The brisket and ribs are also pretty good here as well. Go if you want some really good barbecue!

Our server was Steve, he has been our server before, amazing gentleman! He is always funny and so kind makes sure we have everything, and also really good at checking in with us often! Me and husband haven't been out since covid 19, things have changed that's forsure, they are taking all the precaution plus more! But the food is still amazing, everything was fall off the bun(my husband likes to say)! Only thing for me that I miss was the beignets are not on the menu anymore

I've been coming to the Lanc for years now, and never once have I been disappointed by it. The food, the atmosphere, the staff... everything is spot on. I have a good friend from the Southern US who is entrenched in the heartland of BBQ, and he still raves about the quality of food from the Lanc when he comes up here. It's authentic, and the portions are fantastic. Best BBQ in KW, hands down. Even in the pandemic, ordering is a breeze. Contactless delivery is done well, and my order was ready right when I pulled into the parking spot. I miss being able to go in and sit down, but I'm very grateful for how well they've adjusted to curbside pickup. And let me be clear. That Nashville Chicken Sandwich ... easily the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Great work, please keep it up! Don't change a thing!

Parking was full, but there was a wedding upstairs and we made do. Outside the wonderful smell of smoking meat. Inside, lots of tables with a warm rustic atmosphere. Waitress was friendly and quick to get us seated. Food didn't take too long and tasted great. Portion size was good, the brisket was amazing ! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This place is okay at best. I don't appreciate being seated next to the bathroom and don't even think that there should be a seat there. They don't let you customize too much and honestly their food is very mediocre. Go to Toronto if you want world-class barbecue joints. Some of the staff is nice, the restaurant itself is very nice, but I honestly didn't feel welcomed.

Best place in the KW area to eat BBQ. The prices are very reasonable and portions are very big. If going with a group I recommend sharing the platters since you can try a wide variety of meats. But if you're ordering only 1 thing then you have to get the brisket. The brisket is incredibly tender and tasty. The pulled pork and chicken are also fantastic. The ribs are a bit too tough for my liking and I find it a bit hard to chew. Some of the sides are a bit bland like the mac n cheese. The other sides like onion rings are really good and the cornbread is also very tasty.

Ordered the 2 meat platter: deliciously seasoned curly fries, tasty tater tots for sides; and pulled pork and honey garlic wings for meats. The pulled pork was very savoury, only the tiniest bit dry, but I asked for extra sauce and that fixed it right up. The wings were juicy and cooked perfectly. The brisket is the star of this establishment. Please try it, I cannot stress that enough. Service was quick - we were served by Dana, who was so kind and attentive. One of the best customer service experiences I've had. Definitely going to return despite living out of town. The atmosphere and interior is really nice too! COVID: distanced seating, tables and chairs wiped down between parties, plastic shields between tables, different entry and exit doors.

It's very rare that I go to get bbq and enjoy everything but this was one of those times! I tried the brisket, the ribs and the pulled pork and all three were phenomenal! Add to that the beans and coleslaw and it's the perfect meal. Just moved to the area a few months back and I'm super pumped that I can go here for top notch BBQ, I hope everyone involved in the production of my dinner knows how great they are!

Lancaster Smokehouse advertises themselves as southern BBQ and they aren't kidding. The alluring smell of BBQ and meats linger in the parking lot as you enter the restaurant. Portion sizes are huge and the smokey flavour on their meats is to die for. The ribs and pork brisket are heavenly. I also recommend the Texas Fries if you're craving "poutine". The servers are polite and energetic and give off the genuine feeling of loving what they do. Come hungry, because the Lancaster Smokehouse does a good job of filling you with delicious foods.

Came with some of my buddies for my first visit about a week and a half ago and it was fantastic. Definitely true bbq, I sampled a bit of everything lol, the brisket was so tender and flavourful, the pulled pork was juicy and smoky and ribs were fall off the bone. I had the Nashville chicken sandwich with mac n cheese and cornbread which was also very good. Service was also top notch, our dude was extremely friendly and knew we were hungry even though we arrived near close and made sure we ate!

Decent place to eat but seems the sizes and quality has gone down a bit. This is another staple of the area and I've been coming here for years, but today was the first time in quite a while and I'm sad to say I was a bit disappointed. The portions on the meat platter seemed smaller but really it's a fair amount of food for the price, found the brisket a bit dry as well. Tried the Cajun jambalaya as I've seen it a number of times and never ordered, and unfortunately I won't order again. Steep price for what amounted to mostly a bowl of rice... Taste was decent but could get another meat plate for the same cost and been much happier. Will return but I've noticed the decline.

Literally the best restaurant I've had the pleasure of dining in. I can't begin to explain the deliciousness that you're going to encounter while eating here. The portions are huge; the choices are vast, and the flavour is beyond description. Top it off with some old fashioned cornbread and you'll leave here feeling well nourished to say the least. Not to mention the live rock/blues music that is your entertainment while you eat which, to me, tops off the experience of this place nicely. Try it for yourself and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!

The place has changed quite a bit over the last two years. They've added extra fees to certain foods and condiments, presumably to offset the increased cost in supplies (which is fair IF an extra charge on regular mayo is mentioned before making its way onto the bill). When asked what happened to the fresh cut fries and onion rings, we were told it was "one of the things to go since COVID". Again, this is fair, but please adjust prices to reflect quality. Cheep frozen crinkle cut fries and tater tots are perfectly fine (who doesn't love crinkle fries?), but it's tough paying premium prices. I don't have anything against decreasing quality during hard times such as these; my heart goes out to businesses that are hurting, but please respect that we're all hurting and adjust your prices to reflect quality. My three star review does not and should not reflect the performance of staff, be they servers or cooks; they were great. I am simply comparing this restaurant to similar restaurants in the province who are also adjusting to COVID.

The Lancaster is awesome and for curbside contactless pick up they have it down perfectly. The brisket sandwich was so tender and fell apart with the perfect amount of sauce. The Cornbread was moist and wonderful too. I have had the smoked wings before and they are out of this world as well. Sadly they didn't have bacon mac and cheese on the menu but the bbq chicken sandwiches were a hit as well. Everyone downed everything in short order. We will order from here over and over. Highly recommend especially during this pandemic. Thanks staff of Lancaster Smokehouse for making our office lunch stellar.

We ordered here for the first time yesterday for my birthday dinner and it was the best decision ever.....The family deal meal states it feeds 4-6 adults but in my opinion would be more than that because we all had a lot to eat and still had plenty leftovers,their food is reasonably priced and totally worth it....They offered curbside pickups and you don't have to get down from the car just call and someone will bring the food to you,I'll definitely make this my go to place for good food.

Their in house sauce is absolutely phenomenal. If you're a fan of pulled pork I definitely recommend it. Their pig tails were what got me the most in terms of food. They have a good selection of IPAs and other draft options such as their rotating cider. What really made my experience so great was Dana. Not only is she one of the sweetest servers I have ever met but her service was great. I always had a drink when I wanted and she made sure to check on our tables and update us on the arrival of our food. Will definitely be going back.

Awesome food. Love the brisket, pulled pork is great, chicken was tender. Ordered it pick up, so can't comment on staff, but other times I have eaten there, the staff has always been friendly. There's usually a wait for a table, as it's always busy there, but that's just a testament to how delicious everything is. Highly recommended.

So much delicious food for a great price. I recommend coming in a group so you have an excuse to get a huge platter and try all the different meats. If you go on Thursday you'll be able to get the best thing on their menu, Montreal smoked meat. Also, try their pies. You might not have a sweet tooth but you won't regret having their pie of the day.

I think this was my second time to an actual smokehouse and people often tell me how good this restaurant is. They're not wrong, the portion sizes were huge. Usually I feel confident about eating everything on my plate, that day the food portions were so huge I had to take a doggy bag home. It is what it is! Loved it, might not come again until I've lost a couple of kgs. But once I do, I'll be back.

Amazing food, beers and atmosphere. Open room and wooden tables make this place loud and chatty. I love to go here with family and don't need to worry about kids talking or picking food. We get meat platters and share. Live music some nights makes it a fun spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a drink. Staff seem friendly, outgoing and a good attitude. This place is worth it and the price keeps us returning!

First time here. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The brisket was amazing, the onion rings could have been the meal. Large portions ... almost everyone I saw leaving had a take-away container with food they didn't finish ( as did I ). Definitely going to return for another round. And dont forget the salad.

Ordered curb side tonight and we were so pleased with our order! The fried chicken was crispy and delicious, the coleslaw was creamy but not too rich, the ma and cheese was sooo good. The curly fries were very nostalgic but the real star was the corn bread! Yummy! The curbside pick up was easy and quick! Can’t wait to try more menu items!

When I lived in KW this used to be my favourite restaurant. Unfortunately over the four years I was there, the quality slipped. The worst instance was when there was a wedding upstairs; they basically let the dining room on the main floor go to the dogs. The ribs were dry, the kitchen forgot how to make Nashville hot chicken (that is to say, they didn't make it hot). That was thankfully the last time I went, as I moved away from the area a few weeks later. Still, every so often I remember how great that restaurant was in 2015-2017. Too bad.

I loved this place, especially as someone who likes meat. Service was fast and attentive. Although the prices were high, the portions were huge! The brisket was nice and moist, and the sauce really complemented the meat. The chicken was nice and smoky. Corn bread tasted fresh. All sides looked good, but I ended up getting the tater tots and rice/beans. Both were good, but I wish there was more rice than beans (it was split 50/50, and you couldn’t really taste the rice). I’ll be sure to go again - I want to try the mac and cheese side next!

Wow. Would be the first word that comes to mind when thinking about The Lancaster Smokehouse. The next thing would be that this place is bigger than you think! We chose this place as our dinner spot to cap off a long day of travel. It was a bit of a struggle to find parking but as we got in we were seated almost immediately. That's not to say the place was empty, it was actually packed but as I said before, this place is bigger than you think! Our table all opted for the 3 meat platter thinking we'd just "sample" their selection. We were wrong. This platter is enough for 2 people. None of us could finish the whole platter and we all had enough for lunch the next day. Now about the food. The majority of the sides were good but the hush puppies were a bit dry for my tastes. The meats were the star of the show. They didn't slather on some strong sauce to compete with the meats. They let the meats speak for themselves. The smoke kissed meats, cooked to perfection is enough for us to come back if we were ever in the neighbourhood.

We ordered here for the first time yesterday for my birthday dinner and it was the best decision ever.....The family deal meal states it feeds 4-6 adults but in my opinion would be more than that because we all had a lot to eat and still had plenty leftovers,their food is reasonably priced and totally worth it....They offered curbside pickups and you don't have to get down from the car just call and someone will bring the food to you,I'll definitely make this my go to place for good food.

A delicious southern smokehouse, that will leave you rolling out the door with plenty of leftovers. First thing I will say about this place is that it will fill up quite quickly so try going between the lunch and dinner rush. I will also say that if you do wait and the wait time is an hour. STAY because this is well worth the wait! The interior decor is a casual rustic feel with everything being made from wood. It gives off a nice casual feel to bring friends and family to for a delicious dinner. Now onto the food, so I have been here at least twice now and I have ordered the same thing each time despite being curious about other menu items. The po boys and jambalaya look and sound delicious, but I can't help myself and end up ordering a 3 meat platter. You have your choices of various meats and 2 side dishes. You can't go wrong any combination you choose will be amazing. The meats are perfectly made juicy and tender, and the side is a welcome break from all the meat. Also on the table are 2 of their famous BBQ sauces Smokey and sweet so feel free to add a bit more sauce to anything on your platter for more flavour. The best part is the portions at this place are ridiculous, I have never been able to finish a platter and I end up bringing home leftovers that I can eat for the next day's lunch and dinner. Whenever I'm in Kitchener this is where I'll end up going for dinner, the variety of the menu on top of delicious and sizable platters make this a 5/5. Protip: a 2 meat platter and 3 meat platter are a $2 difference and your basically getting an additional serving of meat (which is basically 1 lunch serving of brisket/pork/chicken), so you should always opt for 3 meats. You can always bring the left overs home.

Visited for the first time after hearing about how great this place was from so many people. Expect a 20-60min wait if you're going after 5:30pm. This place is packed! Ordered the rib ends as an appetizer and they were SO DELICIOUS! I highly recommend them, could have eaten them all night. Monday night is .99¢ wing night so my husband had the honey garlic and BBQ wings. Very delicious as well, nice and crispy. I ordered the 2 meat platter, with chicken and brisket, cornbread, fries and beer battered onion rings, with a side of coleslaw. The meat was cooked very well and was extremely delicious. No wonder their brisket won 2nd place! The onion rings I DO NOT recommend at all. They are huge, which would be amazing if they tasted good. They are very oily and quite frankly lack taste. The French fries were not crispy or seasoned at all, and they felt almost like day-old potatoes. I expressed this to Sarah, our waitress and she was THE BEST! She apologized and offered something in exchange. I chose the PJ salad which is a bed of greens, onions, caramelized pecans and goat cheese. OH MY GOODNESS! I'm getting this next time, it was so so SO GOOD! The coleslaw hit the spot, they make it in house and it's really good. The cornbread had some interesting web-like strings when pulled apart so I set it aside. Sounds like I'm the only one that had this issue, everyone else loves it and orders extra! All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning. I'm excited to try the ribs, they looked amazing!

I've had my sights set on the Lancaster Smokehouse for months and FINALLY stopped by with a good friend this afternoon. It far surpassed both of our expectations. The atmosphere truly feels like a southern smokehouse and is full of character. The service was remarkable with every employee greeting us with a smile and polite banter. The menu was straight forward and easy to navigate through as well. Let's get to the main attraction, the food! I order the beef brisket w/ baked beans, sweet potato fries and corn bread. Beef brisket happens to be one of my all time favourite dishes and this particular serving ranks near the very top. The portion was huge and the meat itself was tender, flavourful and smoked to perfection. The sides were all excellent additions to the meal. The Lancaster Smokehouse offers some of the best BBQ in Southwestern Ontario so do yourself a favour and stop by immediately. Your taste buds will sincerely be thankful.

My overall experience was about a 3.5 stars. Had a lunch with a group on Sep. 21, 2019. Service. Our male server initially seemed a bit abrupt and not very warm but he became more social and engaging over the course of our meal which added to the experience. Food. We ordered the nachos (no meat) as an appetizer and I ordered fried chicken and waffles as my entree. The nachos were basic but good. Chips, cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, green onions and a side of sour cream. Decent portion to share amongst the 6 of us! When my entree came out I was shocked at the portion size. 3 large pieces of fried dark meat topping a large waffle with syrup and pieces of bacon. The chicken batter was tasty but I thought the chicken itself could be a bit more flavourful. I'm probably biased because I come from a background where we marinate all of our meats. We also placed an advanced order for red velvet cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing from the in-house bakery "Crumb Bakehouse". The presentation was nice but we found the cupcakes tasted more chocolatey than like red velvet and the icing was overpowered by a buttery flavour vs. icing sugar. Would go back to try other menu items.

Came here for my birthday dinner with my family (we are POC) and had a very negative experience with the hostess. Upon entering the restaurant we were not welcomed by her. She abruptly asked us for how many people, to which she responded 3. We could see the restaurant was empty but she took a long time reviewing her screen "looking for seats" before asking us for our proof of vaccine. She was very short with us when we expressed our vaccines were from PEI, didn't say a word and started walking towards our table. She seated us at the very last table next to the kitchen and left without saying anything. Minutes later groups of white families came in, they were greeted with smiles, jokes, and enthusiasm and seated on prime tables. Finally, when leaving after our dinner she averted eye contact and did not say a word. Couldn't help but feel ill motives to her treatment, this definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

Went yesterday with my partner for a birthday dinner. We arrived at 5:15pm on a Wednesday and there was already a wait, about 25-30 minutes so definitely plan accordingly this place is busy! We ordered the 4 meat platter (ribs, brisket, chicken and pulled pork). Brisket was my favourite, very soft and fatty and spiced nicely. For sides we got onion rings (awesome!) mac and cheese (also great) and beans (I don’t even really like beans and I liked these, they have a bit of a kick). Portions were massive, we could barely finish half of it but for $49 for two people it was worth the amount of food. Service was attentive and nice. Food times were a bit slow but our server brought us out onion rings ahead of the platter so that we could start eating. Will definitely return.

It's pretty great! Would definitely go again. Got the 3 meat platter, price is decent. The waitress was old and nice. Forgot to take pictures cause I was busy thinking how am I gonna destroy this meat. The only problem is that it's served on a metal plate covered with a black paper so when you cut through the meat, small pieces of paper end up in your food. Just remove the paper before you start eating and you'll be fine.

Membrane on the back of the ribs was not removed and they were over cooked. They had a nice smoke to them but maybe moving to a back rib or saint louis cut would be better as the rib tip would be removed as it was full of cartilage.

Overall a disappointment. First the positives. Table service was very good and restaurant was well setup to ensure a safe and comfortable dining experience. There is also a 90 minute duration for a sitting which ensures tables are ready for the next group. Unfortunately this is where the negatives begin. Food was show to come out and some was quite cool. In fact, the chicken was downright cold. Due to the time restraints there was no enough time to return for heating. No problem eat the rest of the platter. More negatives that the ribs were cool and incredibly dry to point of inedible. Ok, the baked beans were next up. Those were as sweet as biting into a sugar cube. Again inedible. The Mac and cheese... very good. My wife had a platter as well with sausage that was warm but relatively flovourless. Her pulled pork was nicely cooked but not sauced enough. Definitely not a place we will return to.

This place is always slammed. Expect a decently long wait to get in. The menu is surprisingly large for what I would have thought that they would have. The portions are huge. If you leave hungry you are doing something wrong. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The bun was nothing special, but the Pulled Pork itself was pretty good. The sauce it came with was probably the best sauce I've had out of all the barbecue places in Canada so far. The fries were delicous. The coleslaw on the sandwich was also really good. My only really knocks are the wait times, the service (which wasn't fast by any measure), and the Washroom situation. For a place this large and busy to have the small Washroom that they have (which is effectively a single washroom) is not really acceptable. Also, the parking situation here is not great. Small lot, limited parking, and it's a bit of a free-for-all.

Oh my goodness. Make the trip here. This is the real deal - real authentic southern bbq, worth writing home about. I had the meat platter with pulled pork and beef brisket; it was literally melt-in-your-mouth. The collard greens were amazing. The cornbread was tasty. The sauces were divine. We also had the shrimp and grits as an appetizer - authentic, just spicy enough, creamy and delicious. Really, really good.

My friends love this place, but I don't get it, everything tastes the same smothered in sauce, I thought the woman who seated us was rude, I have been there 4 times because my friends love it. Tried the sampler platter - everything tasted the same and the meat was tough, tried the wings - they were okay but the sauce was overpowering, tried the 1/2 rack of ribs - far too much food and they were tough. Atmosphere is fine, wait staff is good, beer selection is craft beers.

It can be a long wait to get a table as this place is highly busy and in popular demand, but in my opinion it's worth the wait. I really appreciate the country-style twist on a classy atmosphere. An hour wait for 2 people at 7pm, ya ok the are busy but seriously? Got the ribs and they were dry and not tender at all. Not even close to fall off the bone. Smoked wings were under cooked, couldn’t pry them apart and meat clung to bone, also red and pink at bone. Braised collard greens were good but it had these chunks of mystery meat all through it that were very hard and inedible, made eating it unpleasant. Onions rings were as big as donuts with the batter about an inch thick around onion and sopping and dripping with grease. The beef brisket and blackened catfish was good. I wouldn’t recommend if you are foodie. Won’t be back. Once bitten.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! I love everything about it: large portions of delicious and tasty food; employees are always very nice, funny and friendly; and the environment is cozy. Be prepared to pig out! I always take friends and family there and they all end up loving it :) I always have the meat platter with pulled pork and brisket, at least. The brisket is the best around here.

My buddy introduced me to the place. Great Southern smokehouse. The 2 meat platter was the perfect amount of good food... left with a full belly. The baked beans tasted like chilly with a bit of sweetness... I'll be getting that side again. Next time I'm in Kitchener/Waterloo I'll definitely be going back.

The place on Friday is crowded! We had a waiting time of 30min which I understand. The food was good, we took the 3meats, we had to take some home :). The cocktail red sangria was really good. The waitress was nice and quick. If you look for a fancy place this is not the one, if you are going for a face to face diner not the place. Go there with a bunch of friends or family, it is a noisy friendly place.

This is where I come to spoil myself! It is the epitome of authentic Southern comfort food. The portions are huge, the ribs are meaty and saucy, I would argue the best in town, their brisket is just as legit, their chicken wings are the definition of real chicken wings, and their sides are to die for. And they usually have a pretty great beer selection too. If it's not already clear, this place is not for the diet conscious. I should also warn that if you get the onion rings, do not eat more than one before eating your main, because they are huge and somehow they're even more filling than they look. I always have a great experience with staff, and though the wait times can be severe, it's only because it's worth it.

We visited here this evening and the secret is definitely out! This place was really busy but well worth the wait! The food was delicious and the portions were more than generous. I had the beef brisket meal (picture attached) and my husband had the blackened catfish. A great casual place for hometown comfort food. Perfect for families as well! Our server Karen was delightful! She was efficient and knowledgeable and very attentive throughout our meal. We will certainly go again!

Great restaurant. Not only is there a unique atmosphere, but the staff, and food is also top quality. Reservations are required... And that's certainly a good sign. Portions are LARGE, a bit costly, but for what you get and the prep required for smoked foods, hard to beat. Their platters are awesome to try several different types of meats all at once. Fried chicken sandwich was okay. Made to order but wasn't spicy. Tater tots are exactly the way it looks. Mac and cheese was forgettable. Service was good and quick. There isn't much seasoning so it's more like "Southern" Ontario instead of southern.

You’ll be hard pressed to find something like pig tails anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon, but they just so happen to have them in Kitchener and they are absolutely delicious. Pig tails are now one of my favourite delicacies, but the rest of Lancaster’s meats, like their pulled pork and smoked wings, are fantastic. The variety of sides also makes a difference (the collard greens are great). Top it off with some delicious sauce and you have very solid barbecue.

I went to the Lancaster Smokehouse for dinner, party of 3, as a birthday celebration, made a reservation. Parking was OK, not plentiful, so might get busy. Waited 2 minutes or our table, ambiance was fun and family friendly. Wednesday night had live music - which was great, not too intrusive. Food was amazing, service friendly and fast. My daughter ordered chicken that was too hot for her taste, and they replaced it. We ordered platters, the portions are HUGE, never have I been so delighted to have leftovers. Highly recommend, be careful of the hot rubs - they are HOT!!! ;)

Food is delicious, the service is good, and the beer is great. people are complaining about the ribs here, but they were delicious. I like to rip my meat from the bone so the ribs were perfect. The brisket is also amazing. Only reason for four stars is the wait and price of the beer. The wait was about 20 minutes, and it was about 9$ for a pint. It would be cheaper to buy a pitcher of beer (20$), so if going with friends I recommend that.

The ambience is relaxing. The portion is big. I've been there twice and I wasn't able to finish my food there once, but of course that's just me, other customers finished their food. The server is nice, she'll answer all your questions with patience and a beautiful smile. Their dessert now has its own section so you can buy them to go as you leave. Since I'm only there twice, I can only tell you if you like your grits with salsa don't order their grit, but may be you can let them now and you get what you want.

Me and my family absolutely love this place. From the quality of their meats to the flavor of the BBQ sauce, everything is always great. We drive all the way from Mississauga for the chicken and waffles and the pulled pork platters. The last 2 times we have been to the Lancaster we were served by John. It's awesome to have a good BBQ place in Kitchener. Not perfect but very good. I had their pulled pork and was a bit disappointed that it wasn't pulled that well and there were large chunks that required a knife to get through. It also hadn't been sauced which I thought was strange, although there are BBQ sauces at the table (one sweet and one smoky, the latter of which is better in my opinion). I got collared greens (great!) and onion rings (too bready and underseasoned) as sides. The corn bread is excellent. My wife got the jambalaya which was a big hit. The portions are very generous, in fact two people could comfortably share a main for lunch. It's a very busy place so making a reservation is recommended.

Great BBQ restaurant. The portion sizes are huge. We got the platter for two with three meats and two sides. We had the brisket, pulled pork and Andouille sausage. The brisket was pull apart tender and juicy with a nice smoke ring and bark. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. And the Andouille sausage was very nice as well. This a great spot if you like your BBQ. Staff were friendly and approachable.

This is not the place to visit if you are looking for a nice quiet restaurant. We went at 4 30 on a Saturday and the place was already packed, and loud. The meal was served very quickly and they have getting you fed and out of there down to a fine art. No leisurely chat after your meal here. It's all about the turnaround. That being said, the meal was pretty good and decently priced. The guys ordered the five meat, four side platter and were very happy. More than enough for four people. My shrimp po boy left a lot to be desired. Heavy on the lettuce and tomato and the bread was dry and stale. Nice enough experience but doubt we will be going back.

They refuse to accept reservations and when I called to place a pick up order I was told I would have to select a time slot which was 2 hours later - my partner was on his way home from work and would be there in 45 minutes - but apparently that didn't matter. The woman on the phone was rude and dismissive and said that I could walk in and order to go but would have to wait in the cue of people who were eating in the restaurant... If I'm going for take out why am I waiting for over an hour - the whole point is to call ahead so you don't have to stand around. I love Lancaster but dear God your policies around reservations and take out are awful and not customer friendly. Please improve this and my rating will improve as well!

The Lanc has been our favourite local barbecue spot for years now. My favourite items are the Nashville hot chicken, pulled pork, tater tots, and mac and cheese. The curbside pickup was so convenient! They are also great for catering.

Visiting this place is like visiting the southern barbecue-masterchef uncle I've never had. Staff here are always super friendly. Meats are all great, and if you order one of the combos, it's almost always enough to bring home as a second meal. The brisket and chicken are personal favorites. Extra BBQ sauces are available at your table, should you choose to want to drown your meats in even more smokey sauce. Our friend got the chicken and waffles here once, and admittedly, it was a little weird that the chicken was bone-in.

The first thing that stand out the minute you enter the restaurant is how committed they are to execute their COVID-19 response. The tables are carefully spaced 6 feet and the staff are regularly sanitizing the place. We ordered 2 Beef Briskets and a pulled pork (Main : with cornbread and 2 sides) and chose Dilly Coleslaw and Curly Fries/mac and cheese as sides. The food was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed our meal.

This is the place if you love smokehouses and you want meat with homemade sauces, lots of comfort southern style food, plus local brews, live music, and great service. It's usually very busy on weekends so I recommend going early and getting in line, unless you want to sit at the bar to eat. I would recommend the beer-battered onion rings, the brisket, and the chicken wings. I've been here half a dozen times and I've always left feeling satisfied and happy. Great casual atmosphere but sometimes can be loud with the music. Love this place!!!

Lancaster continues to surpass my expectations! Pre-pandemic the downside was slow wait times and service but now they have an amazing curbside and takeout system. The staff are all helpful and wonderful. Even when I messed up my online order they allowed me to correct it without charging me extra and made it super seamless. Once the food was home it was delicious as always. We got a variety of sides, ribs, pulled pork, sausage and we recommend upgrading to their premium brisket.

I don't eat a lot of meat, but man if I was to go somewhere for it, it would be here! I have only been once, got the shareable meat platter with corn bread (sweet, light and buttery). They prepare their pulled pork and brisket the traditional way, not rushing the process. The collard greens were not as flavourful as I would have liked but I would definitely go back.

Big hearty portions on some of the best comfort food you can find. I absolutely recommend the brisket. The onion rings are the size of donuts, some you can even fit your wrist through. What does heaven taste like? You will find out when you visit The Lancaster Smokehouse. I started with the hush puppies, every bite was like eating an angel. I only ate two because I knew what was coming, that 3 meat platter. Brisket so tender that it flakes apart from the lightest touch of a fork. Ribs so good, you can't help but getting sauce all over your face. Chicken thighs so juicy that their tenderness competes with the sauce slathered all over them. Want to know about sides? You won't find comparable collared greens or red beans and rice anywhere north of the mason dixon. Trust me when I say that coming here once will turn you into an addict. A BBQ ADDICT.

Their online ordering menu was simple and food was hot and ready on arrival. Highlights from the menu include their Nashville chicken platter (the 1/2 portion easily feeds a couple), chicken and waffles, ribs and pulled pork sandwich.

This place had a bit of a wait but it was so worth it! Service was fast and very pleasant. The meats were delicious and tender. The mac and cheese was surprisingly amaaaazing. I probably wouldn’t order the smoked wings again, but the ribs and brisket are definitely worth trying out! Their banana pudding was a bit too sweet and the texture indicated that it was a bit old. Will be visiting again in the future!

I’m actually not a huge BBQ fan but I love this place. The portions are massive which I did not realize and I ordered WAY too much food but it was all so good it was not a bad problem to have. Whenever I come here I make sure I grab a few bottles of their BBQ sauces and spices/rubs because their smoky BBQ sauce and their rubs are seriously the best BBQ sauce and rubs I’ve had in my life! My best friend is actually getting them to cater her wedding next summer and it’s super cheap compared to other wedding caterers.

Very good restaurant. Quality food with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. The kids menu is also fantastic value and provides a ton of food for a very good price. There are a few less selections than the main menu, but most of the meats and sides are available. I've been at least a dozen times now and have tried most of the meats, including the ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, andouille (sausage), and chicken. By far, my favourite is the Texas short ribs, but those are only available on Fridays and Saturdays in very limited quantities. The meats are tender and flavourful, though the one time I had the chicken, it was a bit dry. The sandwiches are also fantastic if you're not interested in a platter of meat. For sides, I like to get the seasonal vegetables. They are not just an afterthought and are actually quite good, fresh and still crisp, not soggy, providing a nice balance to the heavy meat. The sweet potato fries are also a good option. I've tried the hush puppies and the onion rings and find them both to be a bit too much on the heavy side for my tastes, especially the onion rings which I found to have a thick layer of breading, but your tastes may vary. Overall, it's a great place to go for lunch with co-workers or to bring the family as there are lots of options for everyone and the portion sizes are very generous. Topped with fast and friendly service, it's why I've returned so many times.

Came in without a reservation on Good Friday. Just the two of us, but there was a 30 minute wait. ...then we saw why! The place is PACKED and the service staff and BOH staff are running their faces off! And doing a SPECTACULAR job!!! Evidently, they were very understaffdd. Hats off to you all! Food portions are really super large. Food doesn't take long to come out-- even while they're super understaffed. I can't express how delicious the food was. Had: Nachos with Chicken Po'dog Pulled Pork Sandwich Shrimp Po'boy with Mac N Cheese Coffee Corn bread Took 90% home with us because the portions were vastly underestimated

The Lancaster Smokehouse is an epic restaurant ... incredible and mountainous amounts of food, a cavernous and packed interior, delightful and welcoming atmosphere ... with a friendly and helpful staff. We resisted coming here for a while, having had some bad experiences with "authentic Southern BBQ" restaurants in the last couple of years. But tonite, on a whim we decided to go, and are we glad we did. The food was incredible ... the brisket was perfectly smoked, juicy and tender ... the moist ribs had perfect separate-from-the-bone resistance ... the pulled pork was smoky yet tender. All their sauces were spot on, as was their (you gotta ask for it) hot sauce, perfect for dipping for those who like it a little hot. Oh yeah, we'll definitely be back! And we'll bring reinforcements ... and we won't eat for a day, maybe then we'll have a chance to clean our plates.

The meats were really good. We had the pulled pork, brisket and ribs! All moist and flavorful with some nice BBQ sauce options at the table. The idea of platters allows for 2, 3, 4 and 5 meat selections with the 2 and 3 meat options meant for a single person. Rice and beans, tater tots, seasonal veggies all great sides. Found the coleslaw a little on the salty side though tonight. A good sized glass of brew at special price of $5 rounded it out! While we didn't have room for dessert, the baker was on vacation, so we didn't have a chance at dessert anyways. Very reasonable priced meals, will not break the bank! All around, an excellent choice for some good smoked meat selections! Have to go back on a Thursday night to try the Montreal Smoked Meat special some time!

Food here is amazing! Ribs literally fall off the bone, brisket is delicious. The venue itself was somewhat recently remodeled and looks much nicer, while still retaining the old feel. Always top notched smoked meat. Also great craft beer selection too! Great patio and good indoor dining atmosphere too. I usually order a meat platter. Obviously would reccomend their brisket, but their Nashville fried chicken is amazing too (I order it medium and it is still very spicy, plus they usually let you add it to the meat platters for a fee). A must visit if you like BBQ and are in the tri cities.

The beef brisket was flavourful and tender unfortunately I can't say the same about the ribs, tough and dry, not sure if I got the freshest batch. For sides I was very impressed with the selections, I suggest getting the Cream corn. Very large portions make sure you come with an appetite or I recommend sharing.

As far as meat goes I've only had the brisket and a little pulled pork but both were good and I'm looking forward to trying the ribs in the future. Their beer selection seems nice and the service was quick and friendly. Unfortunately the cornbread and collard greens were not nearly as good, with the former being bland and the latter tasteless compared to what I've had in the South. Moreover, more variety in available styles of BBQ sauces would be an improvement, though the two available were nice. Still, the meat was good enough that I would come back and just order different sides. I recommend ordering the brisket and going at lunch on a weekday to avoid lines.

By far one of the best BBQ places outside of Louisville Kentucky. I have been looking all around the Windsor Ontario area for great BBQ. Stop your search, The Lancaster Smokehouse is the place for great BBQ, chicken, drinks and desserts. The menu is wonderful, offering fantastic variety and options for everyone who loves great BBQ and real southern fried chicken. Their wait staff are friendly, helpful and have a great sense of humour. This just adds to the whole experience. This will be a regular stop for us whenever we visit St. Jacobs or on our way to/from Toronto. Give it a try; I’d be surprised if you were not satisfied with the food and service.

THIS has made it to my top 3, she asked if i wanted bacon..well yeah, right. so after 3 or 4 bites enjoying the pepper mixed with the perfect amount of cheese i realized im chewing far too long.. this "bacon" is so thick im chewing forever and as im realizing this i start to enjoy this saltiness from the best bacon ive had in any side dish almost as much depth as the MEAT ????

Come early and be patient to get a table, the food is definitely worth it. I love good bbq and this did not disappoint. The portions are huge, dont even try to finish your platter, they'll gladly hand out take out containers. There was live music playing by the bar. Our server was great. The restaurant was a little loud but the atmosphere was good over all.

Amazing! Our first time at the Lancaster, and it was terrific. Our waiter (Steve) was great - friendly, helpful, and totally attentive to our family's needs. Dinner was really good, and the portions were very generous. We were noticing that almost everyone leaving was carrying a takeout package with leftovers, and we were no exception. Kids' menu was really good, and lots of fantastic options for adults. The fried chicken was awesome, and the "meat platters" were also a big hit. We will definitely be back again, thanks again to Steve for looking after us on a fantastic family night out!!

I came to Kitchener from out of town and decided for my one night stay I would go to the Lancaster Smokehouse. I’m very glad we made this decision because this restaurant was amazing!! My family shared the “family meal” and we couldn’t handle how much food there was and it was all so tasty. On top of that, the service was excellent and the place was nice and clean. I wish we had this restaurant in my city. Definitely will visit again when in the area next.

If you want amazing BBQ this is the place to go. I opt for the platters so I can try different items. Past couple years they've worked on their beer selection and cary some great Ontario craft beers. The grits is the way to go for a side. It gets busy on all days of the week so calling for a reservation is a good idea.

Food was fantastic, we got there at 830 and they were shutting down so we were a bit rushed and the sandwiches weren't as hot as I'd expected but that's likely just because it was so late. Will absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone. We've had bbq all over the states where it's their pride and joy - I'd say the sauce on the ribs was the best I've ever had. Waitress was a little 'gruff' but again, end of the night. If there are no issues after my next meal I'll be updating this to 5 stars.

Quick Review: Amazing flavourful let down by details. I have been to The Lancaster Smokehouse twice now. The first time I popped in during the afternoon for a Brisket Sandwich which was delicious, tender and generously piled with Brisket. Based on that experience I returned on the weekend with a friend. Our return was disappointing. The earliest we were able book a table was 9pm but they emailed us back saying they closed at 9 and would squeeze us in at 830. I don't know how much of our experience was due to coming in late but quality had definitely dropped. We both got the 3 meat platters. I had ribs, wings and sausage and my friend had ribs, pulled pork and sausage. The flavour of everything was excellent with great sauce and the perfect level of smoke. Unfortunately the ribs were chewy and obviously needed longer to cook to get to fall off the bone texture. The sausage was dry, needing more fat inside and over cooked leaving it with a unpleasant leathery texture. The wings were okay but overwhelmed with sauce. On the upside the pulled pork was excellent, and the sides were well done. I had the tater tots and Mac and cheese which were both delicious. My friend got the collared greens and coleslaw which was the better choice as their acidity better balanced the meat. Special mention goes to the cornbread which was sweet and moist and almost cake like. Very delicious. I am hoping that our issues with the meat were caused by coming at the end of a busy night and next time the texture will live up to the amazing flavour.

Drink was well made, the fountain pop had a good ratio and both food items I ordered were very tasty. I had regular Texas fries and chicken with waffles. I could go into way too much detail about how good the food was but this review is already long enough, I'll let you decide for yourselves. The atmosphere had a bit of a log cabin feel but with better lighting. It was pretty packed with customers but the service was still on point. It didn't feel too loud despite all of the people that were present and the ambient smell from the kitchen is amazing!

If I could give 0 stars I would, my boyfriend and I were so excited to try out the food, the ribs were tough stiff and had barely any meat on them I felt like I was eating bones. For a place that claims to smoke their ribs for 4-5 hours seems like its been smoking for weeks. I’ve made better ribs for 30 dollars and it was 2 full racks. The mac n cheese was tasteless, watery and not creamy. I’ve had better boxed mac n cheese. The brisket was cold and super fatty. The best part of the meal was the creamed corn but even that was subpar. Don't even get started on the corn bread. Too overly sweet and not true to southern cornbread at all. Save your money and don't go here. My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed.

Great BBQ restaurant. The portion sizes are huge. We got the platter for two with three meats and two sides. We had the brisket, pulled pork and Andouille sausage. The brisket was pull apart tender and juicy with a nice smoke ring and bark. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. And the Andouille sausage was very nice as well. This a great spot if you like your BBQ. Staff were friendly and approachable.

I LOVE this restaurant and have been enjoying their food for years; however, on Friday, I took home some brisket that just wasn't what I usually get - I should know since I order it all the time. So I called the manager on Saturday, explained the situation and he kindly replaced the order, included a bottle of BBQ sauce no charge, and wouldn't let me pay for the sweet potato yams that I decided to order as long as I was coming back to pick up this new order. THIS brisket was as it usually is - OUTSTANDING - and I couldn't have been more pleased. In short, GREAT food, GREAT service - this one little incident was clearly a glitch that was rectified beautifully. Thank you Lancaster Smokehouse!

The staff were super attentive and friendly, without being overly so, which was greatly appreciated. The food itself is just incredible. We chose the platter which came with 4 different meats, a variety of sides and more, and it was, well, fantastic. Cooked to perfection and had a truly authentic and genuine smokey flavour across the board.

Girlfriend and I order the 4 meat plus 3 sides platter ($49) and it was more food than two people SHOULD (not could... We could have) eat. Worth the $$. Speechless! First time here last night (Wednesday) and my boyfriend & I were absolutely blown away. We came around 5:30 pm and although it was shockingly busy, we were sat down right away. We hadn't even been sitting for a minute and our server brought us water and nicely gave us some recommendations. We ordered our food within five minutes of being there and received our food within ten minutes of being there!!! Amazing, quick, and efficient service (not to mention SUPER friendly). We ordered the 3 meat platter with mac & cheese and sweet potato fries to share for the two of us. Unreal ribs, 10/10 some of the best ribs I've ever had in my life. The portion was so big (and amazingly priced at $25 to share) that we had to take some home in a box. Everything was delicious and to make things even better there was live music playing. Can this place get any better? I honestly don't think so! 110% will be coming back with family and friends. Great job Lancaster Smokehouse staff!!! You rock.

I was expecting greatness but unexpectedly disappointed. Ordered a three meat platter, sausage, chicken wings and brisket with two sides, cheese grits and southwestern rice. Sausage was dry, when I think of sausage I think of poking it and juices running out of it, that was not the the case this day. Chicken wings also dry, hardly any meat on them and lack of flavour. Brisket was fatty with burnt ends. Cheesy grits lacked cheese but the rice dish was good. It's a busy place but we got in pretty fast because we arrived before dinner time but on our way out the door lineup was long and the hostess was telling those just arriving it was a two hour wait. I felt like I was shoved along to make room for others. Not a good experience and will not go again.

What else can I say that everyone on here has already stated? Amazing place for meats. I've tried all sorts of places like this all over the GTA but Lancaster is king in my opinion. I always get the 3 meat platter when I come and it never disappoints. The ribs, chicken thigh and brisket are all cooked to perfection. The meats we're very juicy, tender and smokey....never dry. The taters are my favorite side here, crispy and delicious. A genuine favorite place of mine whenever I'm in the Kitchener area. A must try if you like this type of food.

I love this restaurant. One of the few true barbecue places available in town. The ribs are sticky with a thick bark and taste oh so smoky. They are usually very tender but at times can be dry. The brisket however is the best brisket I have ever had. Truly delicious, fatty and melt in your mouth delicious. The fried chicken is always crispy and hot. For spice lovers I would greatly recommend the Hot Shak chicken sandwich. For all around meat lovers, definitely recommend the 3 meat platter. This place has AMAZING bang for buck. Me and my girlfriend easily fill up on a 3 meat platter priced less than 30$. If I could make list of the best restaurants in town, this place would be near the top.

Found this place by chance as we were staying down the road. But what a find! We went in at 5pm on Saturday, and there were at least 30 people waiting to be seated. We decided to wait 30 minutes for a table, and we weren’t disappointed. The service was excellent, their own beer was superb, and the food was exquisite. I had the 2 meat platter with fries and baked beans. Really couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be back.

Arrived on a Friday at 5:15pm and were seated right away, which was a surprise. Normally a long wait. Service was very good - the server had taken care of us on a previous visit and was pleasant and attentive. Were able to order the Texas short ribs for the first time. They were always sold out on previous visits. The ribs were absolutely huge. Very tasty although tougher than would have preferred, otherwise this would be a 5 star rating. We love the place, its food and drink. Slightly disappointed with the ribs. Will stick with the brisket next time

Not only is the restaurant absolutely amazing, but the lanc loft is stunning. We recently had our wedding reception upstairs at the list and the food and service was absolutely incredible! Neil was patient and answered all of our questions quickly. They are so accommodating and are willing to do just about anything for you. 6 times i have visited for dinner and done pickup twice. One word: Inconsistent. It can be excellent, or it can be dry and flavourless. You take your chances here. And yes we a family of five try everything on the menu. The boys are big eaters .

Our family of 4 had lunch on Saturday August 15 at the Lancaster. We ate inside very Covid-19 safe. The food was incredible as it has always been, with enough for leftovers to take home. We all enjoyed the smoked meat....the pulled pork, bbq ribs and sausages was great.

While I was there I noted that this place could be marketed as an "all you can eat buffet" because nobody (at my table) could finish their meals anyways, and they would probably be able to charge more (But the leftovers were appreciated). But it's not only quantity that they offer, it's quality too. Super amazing food. It may be worth noting that the multi-meat platters (2 meat platter, 3 meat platter, ect.) seemed to be much more bang for your buck than the other menu items.

If you're getting a sandwich for lunch, don't order a side! The sides are fine, delicious even (we had onion rings and tater tots... They lightly sprinkled the tots with a spice mix that was awesome and addictive) but one would be enough to share if the sandwiches were small... They are not small. Skipping dinner tonight! I had the Nashville chicken sandwich. The nice woman and the front counter told me hot was really quite hot. I like things medium-to-hot, so I went with mild, which was spicier than I expected (meaning perfect to my taste, but don't actually expect mild!) Other than a little hot, it had a hint of sweetness, and was juicy and crunchy and generally delicious. Partner got a brisket sandwich, which he said was "AMAZING!!!" It looked amazing, but I was too focused on my own sandwich to ask to try it. We'll definitely be back... But we'll skip the sides next time.

It is not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. The brisket was amazing, pulled pork was succulent, and the Andouille sausage was perfect. With sweet potato fries, tater tots, Mac and cheese, Coleslaw, and corn bread all added to the experience. We were stuffed and still havew left overs for tomorrow. Have been many times and will always be coming back for more ... after the meat sweats cool down. ????

Their food is really nice I have no complaints. My issue here lies with the service. It's incredibly hot or miss. Their older servers seem to be your best option. The young staff seem to fall into typical habits and shortcuts. I would recommend it to anyone just be prepared to potentially be let down.

As of posting, they only had patio seating available. The expanded patio was quite comfortable with picnic tables and shade provided by umbrellas. We had the 3 meat platter and the serving sizes were generous. (We had to get a takeout container). Pulled pork was nice and moist. Ribs were not fall off the bone (not overcooked), and had a great chew. Brisket is an upcharge, but definitely worth the price of admission. The meat had great flavours and textures, but you can also slather their in-house BBQ sauces in to your heart's content. Choice of smokey, sweet and/or hot. If you are in Kitchener and crave some BBQ, then you can't go wrong with the Lancaster. See you guys again soon!

Really unique place offering a good variety of meat options at really good prices. Portion sizes were huge making the high costs justifiable. My table and I each got brisket and noticed that the quality of it depended on the cuts, but other than that the food was really good and worth it. Staff were nice and attentive.

We drove over an hour to try the Lancaster smokehouse. The staff were really nice and attentive. Would not recommend the food to anyone. The ribs were burnt. Ribs and Wings were not edible. The sides tasted better than anything. Would recommend the mac and cheese and fries only. We left without eating any of the mains.

I haven't been to many smokehouses but Lancaster's is definitely one of the best places to eat in the KW region. Amazing taste and value for its price. Though it is a bit inconvenient to get there without a car for students. I got the brisket, pulled pork and ribs and were all tasty. The portions for vege/rice/beans (any sides that come in a jar) are a bit small compared to the fried options. So if you're looking for the most food/dollar go for those.

I've only ever ordered take out. The brisket is spectacular and they have the best tater tots I've ever had!!!! They put on the tiniest bit of BBQ sauce which I find super disappointing (southern comfort dictates it should always be smothered). The beans and rice is both spicy and bland which I find super confusing and the cornbread is a bit dry (would love to put some cinnamon honey butter on it to solve that problem). For the brisket and tots its worth it!

One of our favorite out of town restaurants. We will drive the 45 mins for the live music and smoked meat dishes. It can be a wait but if you're comfortable sitting at the bar you will get served quicker. Food is plentiful and delicious!

Had takeout from the Lancaster Smokehouse today because of the stellar reviews in my food group. My husband and I each bought the 2 meat platter and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed every single food item.The beef brisket and BBQ chicken were our faves. The taters tots was real tasty. Loved the cornbread too. The price is very reasonable for the portion size. We even have second servings left for tomorrow. Will definitely revisit!
