Not fine dining, but delicious food and friendly service. Great for family and friends.
The service and burger was amazing. I will return again!
Nice and friendly neighborhood place. Not great for people who don't eat meat
Fantastic home made food, great portions, lovely service. So glad I finally tried it! Will definitely be going back again. Pictured: their in house banana strawberry smoothie, and the frittata with red spud potatoes
This is a fantastic restaurant with great food and great service!
The potato cake was good and the spiral cut fries are a must have Slightly overpriced and most things were spicy.
Every time we go never had a bad meal never had a bad experience ... Food is always excellent...????????????????
My wife loves the sweet potato gnocchi and the Caesar salad, and I’m in it for the ribs with the mashed potatoes. The old restaurant had a great cozy feeling to it! I am excited to see what the new location will be like!
Food is amazing, prices are fair!
Great food and Atmosphere.
We had a big group reserved over the long weekend and there was quite the miscommunication with the reservation. In spite of that though, the staff and kitchen were amazing and kindly accommodated our group and I’m so grateful. There was one waitress who was rather unpleasant but overall it was a nice place for a meal with mostly friendly service. The pizzas and salads were fantastic. Thanks again for going out of your way for us!
Pizza was fantastic. True fired light and airy. First time for lunch. Excellent service.
Was working
Great gastro pub! Wife had the prime rib sliders and I had the spicy sauce fettuccine in the cream sauce. Both were bang on. Would go again. ????
Amazing staff, food and atmosphere
Excellent service, great food.
This place is a hidden gem, we will be back. Scott and Joel were friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic! Atmosphere was amazing! Service was excellent! We felt like a member of the family!
Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at the Rustic Spud- we celebrated a birthday party recently, excited to try out their new location, but service was a mess! After 30 min of waiting for our drinks we had to go to the bar to get them ourselves, waiter had no idea how to open a bottle of wine, so we just had to do it ourselves! And, to top it off they brought us a wine we didn’t order and opened it, only to charge us for it. The manager said that it was a more expensive bottle, and thought that we were going to pay for it because in his opinion it was better quality?! Very odd. We paid for what we ordered, like at most places! The manager was rude, completely clueless and unprofessional. We will not return!
Best place tho eat
Absolutely love love loveeeee Rustic Spud!!! Fun friendly environment. Outstanding food and service from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. The food tho is spectacular. They just have something that other places are missing these days. Whether your a local or just passing through Kingston and looking for a fulfilling meal, do yourself a favour and visit Rustic Spud :))))
Ignore the negative reviews. This place is amazing. Too many Karen’s in Kingston.
For all the positive reviews, I was significantly underwhelmed. Haven’t rated any other restaurant in Kingston below 4 stars, so I know it’s not my pickiness. After almost a 40 min wait, they arrived with the wrong order and had to go back to the kitchen to redo the pizza (which returned in under 10 min). The pizza was mediocre at best, my coworkers salmon was overdone yet the skin wasn’t crispy, and the salad was... I could make a salad better at home.
Awesome food! And great experience! The mussels were fantastic! Probably my favorite ones I've had from any restaurant. The waygu steak was amazing ! And food perfectly ! Absolutely recommend this place to everyone!
The food is fantastic, the service is fast and friendly and the restaurant is in a historic and interesting building. Convenient parking right in front. Close to downtown Kingston.
Always Delicious! And friendly service.
The service was great and the food delicious. We shared a pizza for lunch today and it was delicious and large enough for 2 to share. Previously we tried their hamburgers and fries - they too were very large and absolutely delicious. I have been to the spud several times and have always enjoyed it! The food is incredible, though I’m not sure I could pick just one favourite- gnocchi, pizza, smokin baton and short ribs are my usuals. You won’t be disappointed!
Other
Amazing food recommended by a local try lunch totally enjoyable a must if Ur in Kingston a little off of the beaten path but worth every step we will be going back????????????????????????
Nothing rustic about this spud, amazing food and service! Can't wait to go back! :)
The food was excellent at lunch - the burger and the fish tacos. Well presented. Friendly service. But they need to do something about their heating system in the winter. It was about 16-17C inside. Server mentioned they had problem that it was either too hot or too cold! Not pleasant to eat with coats on (it was a particularly cold day: -20C with wind!), but still....
Hands down the best artichoke dip I have ever had. The atmosphere is great and the service excellent
Great evening with frends at a great local restaurant. Amazing choice of local beers on tap, outstnding unique menu items to choose from. Dont miss this place if you arein town for a visit or if you are from Kingston.
Great food great ambiance. Crowded the day we went. Can't loose.
Great food great service
Very friendly staff, amazing food for a fair price (max 20ish $). Everything is worth trying! A must if you are passing by Kingston! For friends and family!
The food is great, it's cozy and the food is great!
Best spinach and artichoke dip made at a restaurant in Kingston Ontario Canada.
Great food! Reasonably priced, great atmosphere.
Best spot in town.
My wife and I came for brunch and really enjoyed the food (The Benny and Rancheros Bowl) and the charm this neighborhood pub offers! The service was good and, though we live an hour away, we would definitely make our way back here for lunch or dinner and see what other tasty dishes and drinks we could enjoy!
The Rustic Spud is the best restaurants in Kingston. The food is absolutely fantastic and the drinks and desserts are wonderful as well. The staff are friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is perfect. This is our go-to place now for any special occasion in our family.
Meal type
Great place, glad to have a new restaurant open here!
A late afternoon visit at the recommendation of my sister. In brief ... very impressed. Craft beers were great, chicken entree was exceptionally good. I loved the ambience as well. This little, discreet, off the beaten path is a must visit.
Great location for some great food. We had a party of 18 people today and the staff handled us very well. They were friendly and very patient with us. The food was also very delicious and was everything you'd expect. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a place to eat.
We had dinner at The Rustic Spud on Bagot Street in Kingston on a Thursday night, and the place was full, and happy. Folks were trying out unique appetizers like Ponados, a cooked spiral cut potato, seasoned with flavored salts and aioli, served on a spear. Two tried the Blackened Supreme, a chicken breast with caramelized onion cream sauce. One had the Seared Sirloin steak, and one had the Braised Boneless Short Ribs. They were all, individually and as a table, declared delish, and well presented and worth returning for. It's a nice place, not fancy, but terrific food, done well. Make a reservation.
Great food
Overpriced for mediocre food. Paid $11 for a spiralized potato - why did I do that
Sd they didn’t take reservations for the patio we showed up sorry full with reservations hmmmm
The food is made with fresh high quality ingredients and was delicious. Menu isn't extensive but there's no need when they do everything so well. Vegetarian options. A neat ambiance with great decor. Great drink selection that I did not have a chance to partake in as I went for lunch, would definitely come back for dinner. Recommendation: fish tacos or any pizza. Pretty much everything!
Fantastic brunch!!
Good food and service
Decent food. Slow service.
Great food. Amazing service. No parking issues like other downtown spots.
Can't go wrong with the food here. My husband and I have always had great service and excellent quality food.
A great dining experience. Between the 4 of us we had 3 of the appetizers on the menu and 4 different main courses and everything was divine. Make sure you make a reservation though as it gets very crowded!
The best meal I've ever had down town. Will definitely be back again and again
Get the steak frites, thank me later.
Great place. Ask for michala. Shes awesome.
This is probably the best restaurant I have been to in Kingston in a long time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice, it was clean and the service and speed of the food was excellent. It was also very reasonably priced. I highly recommend to anyone.
Some of the best burgers I've had
Slllooooowwww service.
It was lovely...good food a d Excellent service
Great pub food, especially the home made burgers and fries. Joel the owner came out and talked to us. Very friendly environment, staff and atmosphere!
Amazing staff, food and atmosphere
The food was good but the prices have gone through the roof. I'm unsure if it's due to covid or not but it was a bit absurd to be paying almost 80$ for 2 small lunch mains, a side of fries and an app with no drinks.
Great meal - shared bruschetta, chicken satay, gnocchi, and ponados - all delicious. Service a bit slow but it was crazy busy.
Delicious food, fast service and friendly waiters! Has been my weekly go to restaurant for over a year now :)
Funky friendly atmosphere good service and food. Recommended
Snagged a booth, so I didn't get jammed together with some strangers. Pizza was great, got the potato on a stick, because of the name of the place.
Loved the beet salad!! Great portions of each ingredient and a light, fresh dressing.
Had my anniversary here last year and am about to have it here again. The food is amazing, pretty good drink selection and always felt super welcome here.
Met a nice nurse at the Kingston Hospital who told us about this place. It's only a few minutes away so we checked it out. Not too easy finding parking but the place is nice, clean, and not too big. I had their "Wrapatouille" . It was really good. Also ordered the Mexican soup, which was not spicy (they told us that) but very flavourful. Side of Rustic Garden Salad came fresh and tasty. Overall, very nice!
Any time I visit Kingston with my family we stop by for lunch here at 11am. Highly recommend the fish tacos but you can't go wrong with any of their meals! Thank you.
Excellent blackened chicken
Meal type
Indifferent service, water glass appeared to be unwashed. Food was mediocre at best, arrived promptly though.
Good pizza, good choice of craft beers, good service.
The food was splendid???????? Probably the best Wagyu Steak I ever had in Kingston and the Mussels where delicious too????????????
For apizza place I thought I would get much better pizza than that. They did quiet a lot of mistakes in the orders.
Was good. Out of some appys but understandable considering. Pizza was a solid 8. Not too much cheese and great offerings.
Best meal I've had in a long time. Good beer selection and great service. Went relatively early on a Wednesday and it was packed, I'd recommend reservations.
Try the steak and potato dish. It's delicious!
We had a wonderful meal with friends.
We were there again tonight...extremely busy, food was just excellent and their Caesar salad is to die for...best one we have ever had and have travelled the world...huge portion of salad. Staff bent over backwards for us, personal attention at our table with waitress and manager for a gliche in reservation...so so apologetic and our evening ended up splendidly...these people are o er the top accomodating...Food is 6 on a scale 1-5...always pleased and well worth money!! Paul & Lou Wright...we will go again, no question!
We had an excellent dinner here. It seemed like the place all the locals go to. I had the best chicken parm I've ever had there.
Been in once and had a great pizza!
Their braised short ribs are absolutely to die for!! Can’t get enough!
Best restaurant in Kingston! Must try the blackened chicken supreme!
Unfortunately, our experience here wasn't very good. Appetizer (thin crust pizza type appie) was burnt, service was slow and confused, main meal was just ok. Friend asks if there are desserts, orders one but waiter never asks anyone else if we want coffee or dessert, quickly walks off. Plates stayed on the table even though we were done, friend had eaten dessert and had his coffee. Paid the bill and left while table still wasn't cleared. Just a weird experience.
Excellent food Good service Emailed them in advance with a question They responded with useful info
These guys are fans of Kingston and the performing arts! Not to mention a unique menu with plenty of great beers on tap! I highly recommend this business for a nice dine in experience @
Food was fabulous. Service good. Just a bit noisy.
The food was ok, but I found it overpriced for what you get compared to other restaurants in the area. If it was THE best burger ever it might be worth it...but it's not.
Very good food and good service. Seem to be short staffed sometimes.
Great food and friendly staff. Had the pizza and burger. Both were great (although taking the seeds out of the jalapenos would be suggested) Looking forward to going back and trying the fish tacos.
Passing through Kingston, we grabbed dinner on the go from here. Our order was apparently 'packed' in semi-opened containers - we found half the contents of the gnocchi spilled in the bag when we opened it. No cutlery or napkins were included. The goat cheese wrap was missing the goat cheese. We called them minutes later to ask them to at least remedy the wrap - they refused, insisting nothing was missing from it. Not ok.
Amazing place to stop for food and good times in Kingston. Well worth it.
Amazing food and great price. Go for the burger and you won't he disappointed !
Good food nothing special
Awsome food staff friendly large portion. Good prices
Great food, selection of local craft beer, people and atmosphere. I always feel like I'm home when there.
Excellent food and service! Great vibe.
What a nice discovery! Had dinner here twice when I was in Kingston and was very impressed. The menu is limited as they prepare everything in house! The flavours show it! Well worth the short walk from downtown!
Love it!
Burger was over the top!!!
Great food wicked awesome staff!! Reservations after 5 well worth it!!
Such great food! My girlfriend and I came from Belleville for a night out and we had a great time and both loved everything we ate. Would definitely go again and would definitely recommend to a friend.
1.50 for a 2 ounce container of Aioli sauce for my spiral potatoes. Lots of taters, little sauce, asked for extra and you nickel and dime that stuff! I would have given a five star but that is tacky business practice.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is amazing and the quality is like no other. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. I love the Dips and fries. If you are downtown this Gem is worth a visit.
Food is the best
Amazing food and service
Food was tasty but pretty expensive for what it was in my honest opinion. Service staff were very friendly.
Stopped by on our way through Kingston. We were so impressed with he atmosphere, service and all the food. We ordered several apps instead of a meal. Fast friendly service and will stop back in for sure they next time we are in the area.
Good selection of food, plus the logo is pretty great
Good food, great craft beer selection!
great food and service.
Nice looking, good staff, small menu but fair pricing and good drink selection.
Pleasent and relaxing experience while waiting for laundry to be done. Cream of broccoli with blue cheese soup was beyond delicious. To boot a cold fresh Moosehead to compliment it thanks. Cheers. Made my laundry day a bearable one. ;).
We are here yesterday. Service was friendly and polite. My partner and I both had a side Cesar, it was the best Cesar I have had in years. My burger was good and my partners chicken sandwich was very good too. My mother had the vegetarian wrap and enjoyed it emensly. I'd go back just for the Cesar .
This place is fantastic!! Very well priced for local food. Im very impressed with the genuine look of the resteraunt. Even tho it gives you the pub vibe, the food is very well presented portioned and very close to a fine dining experience!! Very well done guys my wife and I will most deffinatly return!!
A lil jewel..always a fav
great food just a tight location, I think it's a great sign that they're so bust might be time to expand
Great food, unique place and recommend it to anyone!!
Wonderful service, fantastic food!
Absolutely love the new location. The food is also amazing! Joel really has built a brand and I will be supporting his restaurant every time I am in Kingston.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. I've never been disappointed trying something new.
The food was worth the wait...make a reservation!
Excellent quality food. Cheerful staff. Fast service. Premium/craft beers.
Fantastic spot with above average food. The beer selection is fantastic and I can't stop talking about the food. Will be back the next time I'm in Kingston for sure.
Amazing food and service.
Super ????dinner and frendly service! fair prices exept the burgeois pizza
great food, affordable, nice atmosphere. Highly recomend it for lunch
Rustic and cozy interior with a charming atmosphere. I highly recommend the wraps and mussels!
Its a fine dining restaurant. A little pricey but the food and atmosphere are nice . We ordered 2 kinds of steak, salad, bruschetta, saganaki cheese, everything was great. Service nice, attentive.
The meal was good, but nothing to spectacular. The waiter was friendly, but a little uneducated about the things on the menu. Overall it was a quality dining experience, though I would have liked a little more effort put in by staff and cooks.
Awesome food and good service
Lovely Vegan options for building your own pizza!!
We were here recently. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the seared sirloin. It was fine, but I've had better steaks. My wife and her friend really enjoyed their meals however. Next time I will try a hamburger as they looked amazing . The atmosphere is quite loud so be warned, not a quiet place to go and chat, but still nice. The service was really good and it is a kid friendly place.
We went because if the race reviews.... and I must say it wasnt all that amazing. The chicken skewers fir the appetizers were not going and dinner was just ok. Service was fine.
Food was great but service was on the slower side.
The service was a little slow but the food was incredible so it was worth the wait!
Nice little place. Loved the burger I had. So good and flavorful
A hidden gem with local ingredients and a great beer selection
What a discovery! Absolutely delicious and charming. The 5 minute walk out of the touristic centre is totally worth it.
This restaurant offers top notch food and service. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food was amazing from the apps to the main course it was a 5 star.
Fantastic food. The restaurant is very clean and has a lovely ambiance.
Great food. Slow service but was busy at the time.
We have ate at the Spud three times in the past two months and coming back again in two weeks. My wife and I absolutely love, love love the restaurant. The food honestly , is amazing.
Their gluten free pizza is good, and I wasn't sick after eating it
Service, food, location!
Even with a limited menu the experience is still great ????Their flatbreads are always excellent, easy to sub items to make vegetarian/vegan/gluten free. Staff are lovely, orders are understandably taking a little bit longer, but are absolutely worth the wait. (Spicy tomato sauce, spinach, green pepper and mushroom flatbread pictured)
Cool small restaurant with great beers
Honestly one of the best small business restaurants I've eaten at in the city.
What a wonderful place to eat. The atmosphere and the food are the best! I recommend everyone go and experience this restaurant.
Great food and service.
Must visit often
Loved the food on my first visit. Looking forward to returning
Loved the food and the service seems like they are very busy which is a good thing! might be time to expand or find a bigger location!
Fantastic little neighborhood pub, great upper grade menu, good service, fun times.
Fun spot. Great Burgers! Good service.
Place was busy. I had no reservation. Plus it was a sunday, so I didnt think it would be like that. Servers and hostest were great. Polite service. Food was a bit of a let down. Ordered a special (fish)and it did lacked balance and proper seasoning. Lemon flavoured carmalized onions... Nope, not with fish. Looked great and all may I add. The fish was cooked the way it should be, not dry or under. Therefore, the service and one component of the dish was great.
Awesome place. We took our 3 year old and our family. The artichoke dip, spiraled potatoes with their specialty salt toppings and 3 different pizzas were all excellent. the mr/mrs potatoes head toys were a hit with our little guy as well. Good selection of beer and staff were attentive. Not a quick food service restuarant but the quality and atmosphere were worth waiting a little longer.
Food and atmosphere are great! Service is ok.
Kingston has a lot of restaurants, but while on the hunt for something different i stumbled upon the Rustic Spudd. Great atmosphere, good beer selection and amazing food! Be sure to make a reservation if you're going for dinner, just be to safe! They always seem pretty busy - which is a great sign! I will be returning!
Amazing service great food awesome pricing! Highly recommend
Always amazing food and great service! Our favorite!
An interesting evening, birthday dinner hosted by my sons. The place was small and the tables to close. We couldn't hear the waitress over the noise. We were put in the back corner, someone has to be, and is often compensated for by great service and great food. They got it half right. Two of the menue choices we asked for were not available. The alternatives sugested were good. The food was not our normal fair but we were glad we tried it. You try it, it may be for you. The chef is inspired and the flavor combinations worked well together. I've never had lemon in steamed mussels before but it worked and it was in the right proportion. Hats off to the Cheff. The small room we were in had 5 waitress, the waitress we had had a table of 8 and us in the opposite back corner. She apoligized for taking so long for the first visit; we saw her 4 times. Four times we tried to get her attention to get a refill for my son; she visited the other table 6 other times and never looked in our direction. She did spend tme talking to a contempory at the other table. The 6 times were notced because we were trying to get here attention; my son wanted a refill on his cola. My other son picked up his glass and walked to the bar. The bartender saw him comming from 5 feet away and took care of the problem; made us feel welcome. Maybe we were judged by our dress, maybe not. I've had great food and bad service in Cape Town. Every one has a bad day at work some times. Hopefully sucess doesn't ruin a good resturant. Don't give up on them yet; Its worth a try No tip left for the waitress
Great breakfast!!
Overall experience was okay. The only reason it scored a 4 and not a 3 star ,in my mind, is because of how tasty the food was. We had the Blackened Supreme and the Piatto Sorella, absolutely delicious. However there was long wait times and a couple of fruit flies who kept trying to steal a sip of our beverages.
A delicious and fresh meal. Staff were friendly and attentive. The patio has a great view of princess street and allowed you to experience what downtown Kingston has to offer. Manager Danielle was helpful and made sure everything was faultless.
The staff, the service, the food and drink! Outstanding atmosphere.
Everything from the food to the service was fantastic. Brit our server was perfect and made great recommendations. Even though it was really busy they still squeezed my grandma and I in and were so grateful they did. Definitely will have to come back and try something different the next time I’m in Kingston.
Very good food and great service. We had the artichoke dip, fish tacos and blackened supreme. We are looking forward to working our way through the menu!
Great food! Odd that hamburger wasn't available the day I went
It was okay. Nothing special here. Also despite the name spud, fries don't come with burgers. Smh.
Came in for lunch with my girlfriend a while back and ordered the Piatto Sorella. Had leftovers so brought them home to enjoy later. As you can see in attached picture the pasta was loaded with butter as well as oil/grease and it was disgustingly runny. Ended up having to throw out the rest of the dish as it was something I was NOT about to eat. I emailed the Rustic Spud about my experience and did not even get a reply back. When you're paying almost $25 for a plate you expect the food to be quality...which it was not. Very disappointing!
The Rustic Spud has been open for about one year and is located in a quiet, residential section of Bagot Street. The restaurant has lots of dining space but still has an intimate feel due to the division into two rooms with alcoves and booths. It has a rustic feel due to uncovered limestone interior walls and wooden tables. There is an extensive selection of local craft beers and a modest wine collection. Interesting and tasty dishes are reflected in the Logan Smash Burger, Weed Eater wrap and The Lucky Luciano pizza. The name of the restaurant is reflected in the availability of spiral spuds, handcut spuds, blue haze rustic mash potatoes, roasted potatoes and potato cake. Prices are very reasonable with the most expensive dish being the seared sirloin for $22.
Overpriced for the quality of food. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nice cosy spot for dinner or a drink. Great service and the fish entree was fabulous
The food was great! The hamburger are perfect.
So good and such a nice place to chill
Small and personable.... good looking
Staff was accommodating for our changing party size, and one of the staff brought out toys for my niece to play with. The burger I got was great, and the waitress recommend a great cider.
Great good, great staff and great atmosphere!!!
A hidden gem! Food and staff were both great!
Great food, atmosphere, and selection of beers for a reasonable price.
Their gluten free pizza is quite yummy and the bottomless bowl of fries also delicious! The one drawback is the blaring music that makes it difficult to talk.
I thought that by the name, I would be given a choice of .. well, .. spuds. Nope. I don't eat wheat, so there was virtually nothing on the menu that I could have. Don't even remember what I ate. Cramped, noisy, disappointing.
Good atmosphere and yummy fresh food. Middle of the road prices. Great unchained restaurant. Will go back for sure.
Great food and known for their cooked spuds it was not to busy and a good place for partiers
Good food but a little pricey
The food is absolutely amazing! I have been going regularly since they opened and have never been disappointed. Do yourself a favor and try it out.
Ordered appetizer without certain toppings, arrived with all toppings. Pizza was mediocre. Spaghetti was okay but noodles were undercooked. Made a reservation and when we arrived they hadn't written it down. Servers rushed meal and asked about packing it up in the middle of eating when we clearly were not done. It was our first time going and it will certainly be our last.
Always great food, comfortable atmosphere and great service.
The food was excellent. Blackened chicken was delicious. Nice atmosphere. A little loud for a normal conversation.
I have been here once and would love to go again! It is a hidden gem with delicious food and great staff :) And to mention, their prices are very affordable for high quality, delicious food.
Cute spot, but a little cramped.
Ordered a ceasar salad and the New Yorker pizza. Both were fresh and tasty
Food was great, but serving dishes for the pizza need to be flatter and more stable so be careful when you are digging in. Restaurant was half full at lunch and service was very slow.
Thanks to Michala for a great evening. My parents, wife, daughter and myself thought we'd try this place out in Nov. 2016. Definitely not disappointed. Appetizers were amazing - muscles in white wine sauce and Pico de gallo, and spiral kettle chips. For supper we had personal Pizza, veal and fettuccine all of which were excellent. Great atmosphere, rustic as the name suggests and quiet so as to have good conversation. Well definitely be back. Thanks for a great dinner.
Heard great things about their food. First time eating here with my family. The waitress was really nice & friendly, and that's why I didn't rate this 1 star. The reason I'm giving my low rating is for how the red head chef (I believe is the owners son) stormed over to the bar and yelled at a server/bartender, extremely aggressive, swearing in his face, infront of kids, and a room full of dining guests at top volume, then moments later the boss comes out from the back and pushes the guy yelling, great entertainment honestly. Also, really expensive for a dry burger.
The restaurant is cozy but it is way overpriced for the portions you get. The reservations were on time so I'll give them that. Not really impressed. Menu items are very limited.

Good food and a nice atmosphere.
Came in from Toronto for the weekend this place was well reviewed. Made a reservation Wasn't the best. They were very very busy at 7pm on a Saturday and could probably use one extra staff. There was a wait to get seated, and another long wait to have our order taken. Food also came out slow, especially the main course. The worst part was that tables were not 2m apart and I'm still anxious about my exposure. One staff in the kitchen wasn't wearing her mask for a long observable period, making us very uneasy. It seemed pub style, yet with dishes on the menu over $25 I expected more. Artichoke dip was just okay. Gnocchi and mussels were enjoyed though! Cesar salad had a TON of red onions which was confusing an unexpected. Wait staff nice and friendly just too many tables for them since a lot on the various patio areas outside.
Great food and atmosphere. Soup is unbelievable. (had the mushroom Clam Chowder) Look forward to next visit. Thank you chef Joel and team.
Great food
Great food, excellent atmosphere
After checking out the prior reviews, we went to the restaurant yesterday. Surprisingly the food can only be classified meh (definitely not 4.4), and the service was sloppy. Wouldn't visit again. Definitely not worth the prices on the menu.
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Often busy. Make a reservation to ensure that you get a table.
The Rustic Spud is the greatest restaurant in the world. My son Gavin works there and he’s the best chef ever! I should of named him Dalvin because he’s such a good Cook. If I ate at the Rustic Spud everyday until I died, I would die full and satisfied.
Awesome Logan Burger. Johnny was great. We will be back.
This is a fantastic little restaurant with really great food!! Portions were very generous, and the meals were reasonably priced. We walked in with a group of 23, and they were extremely accommodating and friendly. Service was very prompt. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was amazing! Flavors awesome. Prices are good. But small and VERY loud!!
The food was really good, friendly staff, nice and cozy place :)
Quite good! Service was a bit slow but it was crazy busy so I give them a pass. Its hidden away but once you find it, the food was delicious. Simple but very tasty and I have no problem telling people they should go there! Its another great independent restaurant in downtown Kingston!
Happy hour price is 5.50 from 2-6 pm! Had a cider which was good but I found it really drafty inside, i had to put my coat on!
Family loves this place. Joel the owner is amazing, and the food is incredible. Try the short rib, it's actually epic! 5 stars! Cheers.
The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. This was my first time there, and I will be back for sure. As we looked at what other tables were ordering we know there are a lot of things we want to try next.
This is a good casual restaurant with friendly service. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with dietary restrictions, though -- the menu is very limited. I have been twice and both times I found it difficult to find anything without dairy. Even the soup of the day both times was cream-based. Both times, I wound up ordering the fish tacos, which were fine but nothing special and those are available everywhere these days. Would like to see more variety on the menu and then I will be back!
Great food, socially distanced indoor seating with sanitizer on your table helped this nervous person feel comfortable and enjoy my meal. The service was great, distanced where possible and masked. The entrance isn't fully accessible, there's a step, but if you can navigate that you're good otherwise
Delicious. Fish tacos are amazing as well as the fries
Just enjoyed a light lunch on the patio and loved it. We had the burger (very good, better than most) and the fish tacos (so good when you get the hit of cilantro!). We will be back for sure.
Haven't been for a while and wanted a cozy spot for lunch and what a great choice. Cozy, great service, great food! I had the Chef's Mussels. They were fabulous. Amber was extremely attentive and made the afternoon an absolutely delight. Again, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. Thank you!
MMMMMMM!
Friendly staff. Food was ok - I've been here twice before but this time I was a little disappointed. The drinks and appetizers came quickly but the mains seemed to take longer than usual. I had fish tacos. They were luke warm and the fish was a little dry. I've had this dish before and my experience was the opposite. My drink was great. The hostess and our server were very friendly and tended to our group's requests immediately. Everyone else felt the same - food not as good as usual but the service was.
Excellent brunch.
Great food and great service.
Mussels were awesome. Lots of flavour.
2 burgers 1 fries 2 pops $46. Absolutely absurd for ground beef and one order of potatoes. The food wasn't even any good. Not rustic spud, more like "rustic dumps."
Excellent food and service! The interior atmosphere could be better (graffiti/street art doesn't fit in my opinion), but it's a major enough issue to lose a star
Very very disappointed with the server and the food. The new place has nothing on the menu like the original restaurant on Bagot street. The food was under cooked and salad toppings were old and over dressed with way too much dressing. we won't be back
The Rustic Spud is a nice place to stop by if you're visiting Kingston. The restaurant definitely had a rustic atmosphere and decor which made it stand out. I liked the food and drink menu; there was enough variety without it trying to do too much. I got to try a couple of new local beers and the food it was served with was great. The prices were a little high, but every once in a while The Rustic Spud would be a great place to have a good time.
I love the Rustic Spud! Great atmosphere and great food as well as an excellent selection of craft brews. The service has always been impeccable whenever I have visited. You've gotta give it a try!
Excellent food. Delicious.
We went for a 730 dinner and our booth was dark and the atmosphere was loud. But the food was very good.
I really enjoyed the new location of the Rustuc Spud. The patio was great and very clean. The service was great and the new menu is even better!!
Great food. Worth going to.
The brunch perogies are incredible and so is the ceaser salad. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Good meals.
FANTASTIC SPOT. FANTASTIC STAFF SUPPER FANTASTIC OWNERS
Had the bruschetta flight and sprial potato chips, both were fantastic. Server was super friendly and the atmosphere in general had good vibes.
Our absolute favourite restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming and sociable, the food is devastatingly good, and the servers are genuine and friendly. One of the best dishes they have going for them is the 'sweet potato gnocchi' that they make in-house every day, however there's yet to be a meal we haven't absolutely loved. There are plenty of options, including a variety of vegetarian dishes. If you have dietary restrictions, the kitchen staff is always happy to accommodate.
Very delicious and creative menu. Can't wait to sit down!
The food was good but I found the menu to be lacking and there was not enough options or seating in my opinion.
Really great food and a friendly staff.
Great food and atmosphere
Good food. Spicy! Crowded and cozy. Popular with university crowd
Great food and nice staff
Nothing here should be as expensive as it is. My meat was grossly undercooked and nothing comes with a side. The owner sits at the bar drunk all day and no one in the back wears a mask. Not a classy place to be
One star off because it was really noisey, but the service and food was fantastic! I also advise getting there before the lunch rush as by 12:05 it was filled right up!
Pizzas are a family favourite with lots of types to choose from, made fresh with no chance of needing a doggy bag. Fish tacos are excellent, though sometimes it would be nice to have a little more fish. The spud fries are very good, as was the soup of the day, a veggie currie soup that was quite flavourful. We've been a few times and we will defo keep going back.
Definitely a place to visit! Always will be! Delicious little hidden spot in Kingston! ???????? yum yum yum. Great atmosphere, great friendly service and definitely great food!!
Had the bacon cheeseburger. Absolutely delicious...Can taste the difference of real food vs the chains!! Created a return customer!!
The food here is wonderful quality and delicious. I enjoyed my meal and hope to return soon.
Very happy our friends turned us on to this place
The food is top-notch, the service is fantastic, and the bartender is the real deal: try to stump him with an exotic drink order! This place will take you back in time fifty years to when a restaurant outing was the best thing you could do with your time and $$
Stopped in here for lunch on our travels from Montreal to Toronto. Read the reviews and thought it would be a lovely spot for my family to eat. The service was HORRIBLE the waitress was either on something or completely intoxicated. She took our order and came back 30 minutes later and said she only got the kids order and had forgot mine and my husband's. 30 minutes later!!! Again we waited, she came back a 3rd time saying she forgot AGAIN!! at this point I am extremely upset, I have my 8 year old and 6 month old and basically just want to eat and get out. FINALLY my daughters pizza arrives and my burger... but she dropped my husbands food in the kitchen and told us it would be another 3 minutes (more like 20) we had to ask for things numerous times (like drinks, my daughter's dessert and a to go container) all said and done we spend about 2 hours in the restaurant, although the food was good this lady's service was ridiculously horrible, I am shocked she was allowed to work that incoherent. I will never come back again!
Awesome experience! Last time we were in Kingston we wanted to try it but we didnt reserve and it was full. I know why now, the food is excellent, very tasty and excellent service. It's a must in Kingston.
Wonderful food and service. Great neighborhood restaurant!!
Great Father’s Day dinner of steak frites and fettuccine! Caesar and house salad were great too. Took it home and it was still hot and tasty. Will be back to visit. ????
Great service... great staff... great prices...!!
The food was spectacular the service was exquisite and our waitress named Chantelle was so nice and beautiful, I have to say a perfect 10 all the way around for this restaurant.
Was ok. I was hoping better.
Just had the best lunch . I think i found my new favorite place . Thanks spuds .
Great neighborhood bistro
One of the best resturants in town. Get service and amazing food. !!!!
Fantastic food! Everything that we ordered was delicious.
My fiance and I had an amazing experience here for her birthday dinner. The service was amazing and the food was outta this world! Highly recommend for a group meal, dinner date or even a quick bite.
The atmosphere was great. Good service. Nice drink choices. Food was good too.
Dont let the website fool you this is an upgraded pub!. No need to look fancy. We are tourist and wanted to try something new. reservation and everything, got their and it looked deciving. By the look of the menu, lots but minimum menu options, very desirable to look at everything. Prices vary but are on the pricy wild side. Awesome drink ideas to try out and good selection of tap beers. Note for the chef and or future customer: the 6oz sirloin wagu steak I ordered it rare, came out in the blue rare wich was alright but I was disappointed in the demi glaze drenching the whole bowl, maybe put it on a nice round plate and/or order the demi on the side. Besides that great atmosphere and they always have a game on!
Great atmosphere, reminded us of CHEERS.
Although a little on the pricy side still worth It been There twice and had pastas good size portion cooked properly and full of flavor. As well out server perfectly described all the specials and was really good with us.
...one of the best burgers I've ever had !!! ...off the main drag but well worth searching out !!! One of Kingstons best kept secrets ..
Good neighborhood pub vibe. Reasonable pricing, helpful, good natured friendly server--and delicious, beautifully presented food! Will make it a regular stop from now on.
I have been meaning to try this place for a while.I came in with my wife for an early lunch. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered a really delicious burger and some soup. Presentation and service was very good. Our male server (sorry cant remember his name) was very good. The ingredients were very fresh. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was i thought it was a little over priced. Not a good place for a cheap lunch. It was over 22 with tip for a burger and a bowl of soup with a coffee. The food was very good and I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Definitely worth going
Fabulous beet salad!! Really big portions of all of the listed ingredients, too. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and attended the table just often enough. I definitely recommend a visit here.
Delicious
Great food. Parking is not great and I had to park quite a distance, which was my only complaint. I had the steak dinner and it was delicious. Others at my table had the Caesar salad, which was very large, a chicken sandwich and a Brie cheese dish. Everyone raved about the food. The waitress was friendly and helpful.
Great atmosphere, excellent drink menu, lunch and dinner menus, easy to spend $$$ here but well worth it! Been here twice, both times had great service and our waitress was even new! Chef needs to go easier on the balsamic, it masked the flavour of the dishes, wasn't just one dish either. Deep fried spud app was over fried but served with fresh and delicious sauces. Food was very fresh! Both times! And it's January, Amazing!
Omg the food is so good we had dinner with are daughter there one night
The food was great and very reasonably priced. A great selection of beers, that are priced lower from 2-6 pm. Thanks to Ben the great server, who was at least a little bit funny. We ate and drank and were merry!
Best burger ever. I mean it
The waiter was nice and checked a few times if all was ok but every thing we ordered was long in coming, even if the place was not swamped. Skyye Mint Mule and wine were good, the sirloin and the pancetta pesto pasta good too, very good artichoke dip. DOWNER: The place was swarming with fruit flies, we spent the whole time fighting them off. Indicates a need for cleaning much better where they usually « hang » and check the whole place. This was a downer. Otherwise, it would have been a fairly good dinner.
Great atmospherere
Top notch food and service
Delicious and unique menu...interesting decor in historic downtown Kingston...pleasantly surprised!
A wonderfull local pub type atmosphere with great pizzas along with a great selection of on tap beers !!! The service was very personable!
Amazing food. Great local spot.
The atmosphere is nice at this restaurant. The spinach salad was unique and delicious. The blackened chicken was also excellent. They also have a capaccino machine, as well a alchohol. Life is good.
Yummy
Great brunch!! A little on the pricey side when you have to pay extra even for toast or potatoes, but I love the brunch options and how there’s some change in the menu (e.g. the frittata is always “chef’s special”— when I went it was jerk chicken & mozzarella)
This is an awesome place, rustic is definitely how the atmosphere is and the food is off the wall. The staff is amazing i will definitely be back.
Great people good food and drinks
Warm friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and diverse menu with mouthwatering flavour.Go Eat Here!!
Amazing place, food, atmosphere, and staff! The owner is dedicated to making sure precautions are taken and that their patrons feel safe while dining within their establishment. The staff was very nice an accommodating of our large group on short notice, and the food was delicious!
Unreal staff, unreal menu, I seriously recommend. If you don't know what you want get...get the rancheros
Excellent meals, great service in a busy atmosphere. Good selection of domestic and craft beer along with a varied menu.
The only thing similar to the new location of rustic Spud is the name the service was excellent and the aesthetic was pleasing. However, the food was lacklustre, and the price is now outrageous, and the portion size is tiny. The food was not the same quality that it used to be it was a bit tasteless:(. This is the only time that I have ever change a five-star review to a one-star review
The food is seriously to die for!! Great atmosphere, they have a new soup and specials every day. Reasonable pricing, and great quality. A locally owned must-try in Kingston!!
The bruschetta here is literally the best thing we've ever eaten - The Whole Entire Losier Family
Great atmosphere, even better food!
First and last time experience. High end prices for small portions. All sides extra (cha-ching,cha-ching). Long delay in food arriving, including warm but not hot soup. Blackened chicken, served on bone was overcooked/dry. $28 (?). Did I mention all sides extra ? Mayo requested for burger but informed unavailable. Garlic aioli suggested instead but surcharge not disclosed. Underwhelmed.
Food and service was amazing.. always a nice touch when the owner introduces himself and asks how things are going..
Dine in
Have been a regular here since they opened. Service is great and the food is well priced for the quality. Highly recommended.
Good Food!
Amazing food and staff...great hidden gem.
Wonderful service and delicious food!
Fantastic thin crust pizza!
Eclectic menu!
I'm from out of town, so I'm not sure how this restaurant compares to others in Kingston, but the Rustic Spud is pretty bland and not a 4.4 rating on my books. I went for lunch, and while the service and seating were warm and comfortable, the food was pretty bad for the price. Everything was under-seasoned, amateurish almost, except this "potato cake" which must have had 3 cloves of garlic for this shaped mashed potato dish to taste like garlic paste. I could go on, but there have to be better restaurants around, so only come here if you want drinks, and the neighbouring joints are full.
Friendly staff, great food and fast service.
Blackened chicken is burned Chicken/ overcooked and dry. They brought me a dirty glass. Said no it’s wet from dishwasher that may be but it’s also dirty. Then another 2 dirty glasses. Steak was warm not hot... fries cold. Starter soup brought out with the steak not before. 100$ only thing decent was the beer but the glass being dirty. The beer was cold at least? I won’t be back and I can only recommend to everyone else to go elsewhere. There are better options nearby.
Creative and tasty dishes in a cool space!
Best Gnocchi I’ve ever had in my life!
One of our favorite restaurants in Kingston. Very reasonable as well.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the menu is quite varied. We enjoyed good service and food. Everything was hot and tasty.
Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Amazing staff. Menu has unique items. Highly recommend!!
Cozy nice good food but not many dishes featuring the spud
Service was great but the food was less than average...
The mussels are always amazing. Great food!
Service was great!! The dip was good as well . However drinks weren’t fantastic and wasn’t a huge fan of our main dishes. We had the short ribs. (Found them to be a little dry) I had heard amazing reviews about this place but it wasn’t what I was expecting food wise !
Super good food prepared to perfection. The cook is on his game. The artichoke dip and flat bread is excellent.
Really good food, great atmosphere, excellent service. We'll be back!
Have been meaning to try it for a while. So glad we did today. Burger was amazing and bursting with flavors. Quick service. Highly reccommend going.
Delicious but pricey food and they only have angry orchard cider on tap.
Had a great evening out at the Spud. The food is delicious and fairly priced. The service was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. The smoked margarita cocktail was super tasty and a fun interactive experience to have at the table. Start to finish we enjoyed it all!
Fantastic place , to enjoy a pint and the food is very trendy
omg great service! tried a local beer, fantastic. Our waiter was just great
Had a great time at the Rustic Spud last night. Appetizers were great and the atmosphere was cozy. Our waiter gave great recommendations for dinner which did not disappoint, and the drinks were unique and delicious (loved my ‘smoking’ margarita). Will be back soon!
Seems high-end from looking at the menu but absolutely overpriced for the service and quality of food received! 100% not recommended! Way better options available around the area.
Delicious hamburger in a cozy friendly space. Would eat here again absolutely!
We were a regular at the old location going at least once a month. Service and food were great. We have now been to the new location twice. Both experiences were terrible. The first time my daughter ordered the flatbread. The first two attempts we’re burnt. By the time they brought something that was edible it took 30 minutes. The rest of us were finished and ready to leave. Also at no time was the table cleared. The second time was a wedding rehearsal dinner 10 people. 5 people ordered the steak and frites. This was supposed to be a ribeye steak. I have never seen a piece of meat cut 1/4 of an inch thick called a steak. But that’s what they got. It tasted overcooked. I had the mussels. The flatbread served with it had been grilled so long that you couldn’t even bite into it. When the main course was served it took the single waiter over 7 minutes to serve everyone. This was for a service that cost over $500.00. All ten people were not happy with the food. Sorry to say we will not be returning.
Absolutely amazing food in a cozy neighborhoods setting. Went twice in a row this week!
Been here a few times in the past six months and the food has been great every time. I've had one of the burgers and the chicken sandwich with fries and have not been disappointed. One thing to point out that's not everyone's favourite is that sides (e.g. salad, fries) are extra so you are lookin at about $16-$19 for a burger and fries. It's worth it, but it may not be for everyone. They recently started serving brunch which looks delicious and will warrant a return at some point.
Good food. Good beer Good people.
Lunch
Love this restaurant. Nice small place with great food. Gluten Free options
Everything on the menu is incredible, and they've just added brunch! Try the huevos rancheros, you won't be disappointed.
Service
Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Tldr: - waiter not so welcoming at the door - mildew smell from the water glass I was there at 12:05pm. Stood outside over 5 minutes and waiter finally came out and asked, can I help you? It was so awkward that I had to ask him if the restaurant opened for business yet? I had to read the business sign again before I walked into the restaurant, it showed 12pm-9pm. We started with the water and the glass had obvious smelly odour, highly likely the drying cloth was not clean properly. I told the waiter about it and he replaced the water glasses. The new water glasses still had little smelly odour in it. Food was normal, and the price is higher than average. Overall higher price than average restaurant and the service is below average.
Gr8 home cooked meals, fun brews and very happy staff. Can get busy and noisy. The fish tacos rock.
Always delicious! We brought friends from out of town and they loved it. Thanks for having vegan options!
Great surprise! Enjoyed lovely veal dinner!
Great food
Came in as a group for lunch and we had preordered. Food was great and fast, service was fine even tho we had a large group the waitress handled us very well.
This place is FUN. Good for after work drinks, dinner with the wife or husband. Its loud with lots of good energy and the music is ok. Food is well crafted and offers things you're not going to find in most places. Looking forward to seeing where they take the menu next. Oh FYI ... make reservations this place is becoming popular for a good reason.
Always great atmosphere and awesome food!
Good food, good beer, good service... Nothing to ask more!!
Lots to recommend here! The food is delicious and reasonably priced (shout out for the steak with quail egg), and the atmosphere welcoming. Lots of options on the menu, with a casual flair. You aren't likely to go wrong with any choice.
Lovely place to eat
I had a Penne special last night that was oven baked with shrimp and a sausage of some sort and it was the absolute best dish.....would highly Recommend this dish to anyone.... I asked for not to spicy and my friend had the spicier version and it was delicious. The staff are amazing, very friendly, accommodating, knowledgable and safe.
Great spot.
Delicious food and great service. Worth the price. Will definitely come again. Very impressed.
AMAZING! I scraped the last bits of Four Cheese Artichoke dip out. So good! I devoured my burger. The Logan Smash with added smoked bacon and crispy onions - oh my! - and the fresh slices of jalapeno had just the right heat, and the chipotle mayo, just wow. The fries were delicious! Mike had the Seared Sirlion steak, which had a fried quail's egg on top - this restaurant cares as much about flavour, texture and taste as much as presentation! Deep fried New York style cheesecake, how sweet it was! Will we come back? YES!!! If I could afford it, I'd eat here everyday - and probably order the burgers every time, they were THAT tasty!
Great place. Took the family for my mother's bday. Made reservation for 8 they made room for 10. John the bartender friendly makes a sweet Caesar. Ashley served us top notch, Chef Joel came out to check on the group. Appetizers amazing. Meal so good, killer burger. Clean plates all around. Downtown but just off the strip so there is parking on street. I'll be back.
Excellent food and service, with a great selection of beers.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Kingston! I have been there numerous times and the food is always excellent. Firstly, the focaccia bread that they put out to start is to die for. It is served with fig infused balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil from the Kingston Olive Oil Co. - I always eat more than I'd like to admit!
Outstanding New Year's eve meal.
Awesome friendly service, delicious food. Something for everyone. We really had a great time, highly recommended
Yummy
Great food, good service, only issue was that there was two rather noisey and intoxicated groups sat near us that hampered our enjoyment.
Great staff. Good food.
Best!
Very good food and the service wss outstanding
Worst experience EVER! #1 drinks took forever to arrive #2 no water served while waiting #3 ALL drink orders were wrong! #4 ordered A Josh wine bottle And got something completely different ! Wasn’t Told that they were out of Josh the waiter just set it down and when questioned he said that they had to Josh and that this would be the same price . ( but it wasn’t ) #5 another guest at our table ordered an Italian red wine and literally the waiter had no idea how to open a bottle with a cork….. our friend had to show him how it was done! #6 we ordered Saganaki ………. The waiter brought it to the table and poured the liquor on it then said that he want going to light it up because he didn’t have a lighter and he said that he asked everyone and nope nothing ! The entire restaurant didn’t have a lighter or matches ! Funny enough a bus boy comes along And literally has a huge orange bbq lighter in his apron….. weird #7?? I think I have so many! We have apps…. 4 orders of mussels … they were ok no problem but when we are done the plates of finished food just keep piling up! #8 We ordered small Caesar salads for starters before our dinner and sure enough they came with our dinner #9 The Dinner Everything was over cooked , bland and so salty !!!! #10 never asked for dessert or coffee! #11 our bills were so messed ! I couple at our group had an entire bottle charged that they didn’t even have ! #12 I finally get my bill and sure enough …… that Bottle of Josh that they didn’t have that was on their menu that cost $35 was now $45 because they gave me a different wine without explanation and NOT on their menu! Also I forgot to mention that after the Josh bottle was unavailable my friend and the same table received a glass of Josh!!!!! Last….. because we had some issues with our bill and the waiter was useless we asked for the manager who in turn just argued with use and gave some sort of lame excuse that the new wine list wasn’t printed yet so the prices are not accurate !!!! Worst experience ever !!!!
Amazing food, wonderfully priced, great staff had an awesome time. Accomodated our large group
The Rustic Spud is a hidden gem on Bagot St. really close to Queen's campus! The inside is cozy with a casual atmosphere and great service. Owner (I assumed) was behind the bar and greeted us on our way out around closing time. I think the sauce changes depending on the day but it was a pretty big portion for less than $15
The food here was amazing and the staff was lovely. Would 100% recommend this place to everyone I know!
We had dinner there last night with friends. Not sure if it was an overly busy night or if they were short staffed but food arrived delivery was very slow and most of our meals were luke warm at best.
Wonderful dinner
Friendly staff, great atmosphere and amazingly delicious and creative food. Great for a family dinner or a quiet date night. Loved it and will definetly go back!
Service was amazing. However it was expensive for the food you received. 15 dollars for a burger with no side included, and the burger wasn't entirely memorable. Nothing on the menu was under 15 dollars, except soup. Mussels were served with flat bread (not that much) in a garlic white wine sauce. Left still hungry.
Had the duck poutine special, which was topped with pickled onion. Delicious and worth the visit.
Amazing food. Not your normal menu.. well worth the price. Can't wait to go back
The food was mouth watering. Try the blackened chicken.
Great food, Great service, Cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Always love an evening out here with friends! The Artichoke Dip is beyond amazing. The best I have EVER had. The service is always top notch. Especially Natalie, Ben and Johnny (I think that is your name) in the bar. White wine sangria's are outstanding. Thank you Joel and staff!
Very lovely customer service and tasty food ????
Delicious food!
Good food, nice atmosphere and a gluten-free menu that makes it enjoyable for people with celiac issues.
The patio of Donaleighs was full but not jammed in a sunny, breezy Friday afternoon and we were able to sit outside on the charming patio. Ambiance was great, service was friendly and helpful with beer recommendations.Even better we had a lovely chat with some Barrie locals at then next table
Casual atmosphere, limited seating, but savory recipes with fresh ingredients and good service. Advise getting there before the dinner rush as the dining room fills quickly. Average plate $22, but good portion sizes and many gluten free options. Limited space makes accessibility a challenge, especially during peak times.
Amazing spot, a must if your in town! Great craft beer on tap, Last Duel Lager from Perth Brewery was awesome, but not as awesome as the food!
Food is amazing! Try tge pierogi - so delicious!!! I also rented out this restaurant to host our wedding reception dinner here. The owner and staff were above and beyond our expectations and the night went even more perfectly than I imagined.
Really enjoyed the fish tacos. Wife had the vegetable wrap which was also good. If ever I'm back in the area I will definitely go back.
Best artichoke dip I've ever had! Wish it was open later. Beer selection is a bit lacking but solid. It's not cheap, in the medium to high price range. Good service.
Great food , and staff
Everything was fine. No complaints but Im a hard sell for this place to have 4.5 stars. They are not not that great sorry! They're good but I wasn't like WOW!
Delicious dinner last night, great service. This was our first time eating inside the Restaurant. Loved the decor and atmosphere. During the summer we enjoyed delicious lunches on the patio. Staff was wonderful.Sitting at the bar chatting with these nice young people.I enjoyed the sweet potato gnocchi. Really made my night after a busy day of moving. Danielle, ❤️Thank you so much for the delicious deep fried cheesecake ! I definitely recommend this desert. Sooooo delicious
(Translated) Very good restaurant. Tasty dishes. Pleasant service. (Original) Très bon restaurant. Plats savoureux. Service agréable.
Cozy place for beer and eats
Food was excellent, 5 stars for food. But the service was terrible, just awful, 2 stars off for the experience. I will definately return as the food was beautiful and reasonably priced and hope they can sort out their service problems.
We had show tickets, and all of the downtown eateries were book solid. Someone mentioned the Rustic Spud, and while I've lived in Kingston for most of my life, I had never heard of it. off the beaten path, and a bit of a walk to the arena, I was a little apprehensive. For years we always hit up the regular spots close to the arena, and I'll mention no names, but you know the ones. The predictable places with the predictable menus, and prices. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase here, and just say sometimes you need to take chances and show your palette that salty processed food is not the only gig in town. The artichoke dip was awesome, and the pizza was one if not the best I've had. One of our guests had the Cloaked Loin, and we thought he might have ordered seconds had our show not been starting soon. Whilst it was very busy, the staff did their best working the tables. Highly recommended!! Keep up the great work!!
Our appetizer was AMAZING!! (We had the artichoke dip.) My main course was Blackened Chicken and it was delicious. My husband got a customized rustic pizza and... we have had better. It wasn't bad but... we make better pizza at home. Had it not been for that, we'd have given this place a 5-star. Highly recommend trying this spot out if you have not already.
Amazing food, excellent service, and at the right price.
Cozy bar with high quality food
What a gem. When my daughter, her boyfriend, and son wanted to meet me there for dinner, I was skeptical as I walked down a residential street on my way to the restaurant, in a snowstorm noless. But through the flakes I saw the light (over the door), and came in from the cold and snow to a warm, cosy establishment that had a welcoming feel and great aromas. The booths are comfortable, private and spacious for 4 people to have a great time or intimate conversations...or both! :) The adult beverage selection not only featured great craft beers, but a nice selection of wines. Of special note was the Cabernet Sauvignon from California by Mitchell. Of course the Jameson's Whiskey went down quite smoothly! Now to the food. The appetizers were amazingly delicious. The Chef's Mussels were delicious and plentiful. The Bruschetta Flight was nicely presented, delicious, and well flavoured. The mains were equal to the task. I had the Braised Boneless Short-Ribs, a house specialty. It was tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. The words, "melt in your mouth", should have a picture of this Rustic Spud dish next to them in Wikipedia. I replaced the potatoes with a Ceasar Salad, and it was one of the best I have ever had, and big! My daughter had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi. Generally I am not a big fan, it's a potato thing, but I tried a sample and it had me considering ordering it next time I am in the restaurant. The service was friendly, helpful, warm, attentive, and professional. Our server made us feel like we were having a meal in his home. You can't ask for more!
