DO NOT SHOP HERE! These so called local foodies have screwed over multiple real local farmers and restaurants in the process. If you can avoid at all costs and support the market at Memorial centre or local farmers. I myself along with many industry people will not bevsupportimg grocery basket any longer!

I went in to this store today. Well aware that we are in the “Year of COVID” and social distancing and the importance of taking precautions. I get it. I was simply inquiring about the availability of two products and the person working in the store (owner? older woman) was so condescendingly rude in tone and mannerism re: where I was standing and how far I needed to move back. Same words could have simply been said much better. I’ve been to many (small) stores that are juggling this but never encountered such a rude person. Based on the rave reviews I thought this place would be great, but it wasn’t. My issue may seem minuscule and my experience may be a “one-off” but first encounters are important and my singular experience still matters. Now I will never go back, nor recommend this place to anyone.

INCREDIBLE! Just had the charcuterie bento box and it was gluten-free heaven. The price for the amount of food you receive in the box is exceptional. The ham and provolone I am told was delicious.

Honestly.. I could write a long list of why I love this place! :) From the moment you step foot into this cute store.. you feel welcomed.. (and not in that.. oh here walks in money.. must smile and get them to shop) it's a genuine welcomed feeling. All the staff are very helpful & kind. Food is Delicious!! ???? My favorite is their Kale salad, spreads & Hummus. You must buy their take home and bake scones. A must purchase!

This is a great alternative grocery store. I'm always a fan of their black bean brownies and their roof top patio. Expect to spend a little more because you're getting local food. What would really make it perfect for me is more/better vegan and veggie options. It feels like the type of place for great vegan finds but there's not too much (yet?).

Great place to have coffee, eat breakfast or lunch, or buy meals to take home! They have the best baked goods to go with coffee - I have a hard time restraining myself from getting one of everything. Our running group gave up Starbucks for this place and we love it! Service is unbelievable - everyone had been exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Such a unique, great concept. Fresh, local produce and “homemade” ready to go foods: it’s kind of like going to a farmers market but open everyday. Amazing rooftop patio in the summer. Free local delivery for elderly folks: so generous and convenient! Not cheap but it’s great quality and a wonderful way to support a fun, local business.

When the GB first opened I really loved how I could get fresh gluten and dairy-free baked goods. However, I find that in the past 6 months whenever I have purchased these items they are dried out, stale and crumbling. So disappointed. Overall, the GB has some great things going for it though and I would still pick up a coffee - but forego the baked goods.

The store has excellent breakfast food, including delicious gluten-free options like chia pudding and gluten-free muffins, that can be enjoyed at outdoor tables. I would have readily given 5 stars if people eating at outdoor tables were given non-disposable plates and cups. Update: Thanks for your reply about COVID protocols related to non-disposable plates and cups, which makes sense. I changed my rating to 5 :)

My first visit was during downtown trick or treating 2018 but upon seeing the produce, I really want to return. I was so excited to see a store of this nature since produce town closed. Will definitely be checking it out again. Perhaps when I am needing a few quality items or if downtown and need a quick snack for on the go or at home or even just to familiarize myself with the selection of items. I'm actually excited to return to this business.

I love the view and the atmosphere at this place!! I had a funny experience here, the girl she was new, asked for coffee and got a very light coffee from shaking hands! I can tell she is relatively new; however, she did the best job that any new individuals can do! Definitely will be back again

Always love the food here and the high quality! Love the charcuterie Bento boxes and catered lunch combo boxes! Had a recent experience however ordering a pickup order through UberEats where a 30% markup was applied to the price (Bento box was $11.80 instead of in-store $8.99) - a bit more transparency would be nice here for future.

The Grocery Basket is a lovely little café amd grocery store. They serve delicious home made soup, breads and cake at reasonable prices. I love having lunch there if I am downtown. At the back of the store there is a flavourful selection of cheeses which are defi nitely worth looking at. The staff are courteous and helpful. If you are strolling down Princess Street I would check out The Grocery Basket!
