We've got the opinions of real people like you who consumed the services and products of Pan Chancho Bakery & Café (Catering) in Kingston (Canada).
Right now the firm gets a rating of 4.5 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the highest, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Catering is included in the category of Bakery.
This place is a must visit, it's has a main shop and Behind a beautiful restaurant. The drip coffee and cappuccino was delicious, and the almond croissants are AMAZING. Will definitely be back because of the very friendly service and great tasting food.
Excellent collection of local and high-end imported foodstuffs. Great bakery!
Easily the best eggs benny I've ever had! They have a gluten free menu as well.
Probably the best bakery in terms of both wide selection and reliable excellence.
Part of the chez piggies empire ☺️☺️ a great place for lunch. Accessible ????
Mainstay bakery, that has grown to be iconic in dt Kingston. Drinks seem extremely watery as of late. Great bread but they serve up puddle water. For a place with such high volume, I'm surprised they're serving drinks as if they're spread thin.
I love everything Pan Chancho has to offer. It’s great to go in to sit down for brunch, or grab something to go. You’re even able to purchase their cook book to make their delicious recipes at home. I’m a huge fan of their pain au chocolat!
We had the curry eggs here and the eggs Benny, but it was the Benny that was the star! Really enjoyed brunch here with my mother on the outside terrace. ☀️
Although this may be the best bakery in town, I wasn't that impressed with the quality of the pastries. They were OK, but not great. I felt the price didn't match the quality. It is very cute though. I didn't find the service very friendly.
Absolutely outstanding. Very creative menu with friendly, prompt service. The food was prepared perfectly!
A real bakery is something to cherish. From the first time I walked by the window and saw racks of bread sitting there I knew I needed to visit. We stopped in for breakfast and were whisked upstairs to a wonderfully quiet room. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. After breakfast we snapped up some breads and pastries for the trip home. They were all very delicious and enjoyed by the whole family.
Very nice place. Small. Nice waitress. Fast service. Small menu. Very tasty. Medium-high price.
I absolutely loved this place. I tried the best Benedict and mimosa I even had.
Delicious cake, varied lunch menu served by charmingly efficient staff; we made to visits once for lunch and another for tea.
Very kind staff. Very accommodating. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you
Nice breakfast, great baked goods and cheeses.
Absolutely delicious, definitely would go back. Everything was fantastic and the service was great.
I just had one of the best lunches I have ever had. I run a dinner club, I am out a lot, and I can't wait to go back.
Awesome staff, great bread and prepared food. Always a go to. Love the food, and the staff is pretty good too. ????
Love it, amazing food and very friendly staff
food is really nice but a little bit too salty a bit pricey but Overall worth to go
Happen to walk by this lovely bakery today after lunch. Walked in there and grabbed some Rocky Road Cookies and Hazelnut Mint Tart. Both were delicious. Will have to swing by there tomorrow on our way home to grab some goodies for when we get back to Ottawa :-)
Great food!
Pan Chancho is a good place for vegan options in kingston! I love their fresh (and well-priced) sourdough breads, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back here! Ordered the "calling all vegans" dish and added a lentil patty for protein! It tasted good, around a 7/10. It was fresh and filling, it just lacked flavour in my opinion, and was a little overpriced for a salad. I hope to try more of their vegan options in the future! Love it here.
I was visiting my friend in Kingston and she took me here for brunch. We had a bit of a wait, maybe 20mins or so, but no issues with that - they manage it well. I had a grapefruit mimosa and the El Chancho brunch, both were great. The mimosa comes with a little bottle of fizz and separate little jug of grapefruit juice, I really liked this. The food was delicious, I'd have that again for sure. Not too much either, I was definitely full but not uncomfortably so. I really wish they sold that bacon jam in their deli area! I'm only knocking a star for the fact the table they put us at was definitely a table for 2 and not 3 like there were of us. It was a bit cramped with all the plates and drinks. However, if/when I'm in Kingston again I'll be back (with a reservation...!)
Absolutely amazing food! The French toast was delicious ❤️
Our group had a breakfast on the rear patio. The atmosphere was good. The coffee was great. The service was friendly and attentive. Other than that, I really wasn't impressed of their food at all. Their croissant was nothing special, just overrated and over-priced. (There are lots of take-out food and desserts in their store. Some of the bakery did look good and tasty.)
The food was really good and had lots of choices. They made me a fresh sandwich as there were not left on the shelf. Only downfall was it took almost 10 minutes to make it!
I happen to be at the cafe’ twice during my overnight stay at Kingston in May’19. Amazing food and cozy ambience. I would definitely recommend this place.
The best bakery in town. Try the roast beef sandwiches, cookies, their brunch, everything is delicious
Brunch like you have never had! Delicious food and very kind waitress.
Great bakery and many other delectable goodies... But $$$$$
The baked goods were very good. The croissants were light and fluffy. The apple Danish was flavourful. The actual cafe seems a bit pricy.
Google says it’s open but it’s closed today.
Bread and baked goods are amazing! But the poor service does not make up for it. The staff are snobby and aloof. I got laughed at for asking if they had any more bread at the end of the day. I would recommend the chocolate croissant, but get out of there as soon as you can!
The most flavorful, freshest and yummy in the tummy cuisine for takeout.
Amazing bakery/café! Food at the café is very good with plenty of options for anyone who has dietary preferences or restrictions and the baked goods are awesome. The pain au chocolat reminds me of ones I got in France. Highly recommend this place!
Wonderful meal great service
Very friendly staff and delicious food! I ordered the El Pancho... so good!
The lineups speak for themselves. A simple menu of tasty breakfast options like eggs Benedict or smoked salmon. Extra care here in terms of food presentation, innovation and customer service make this a popular brunch spot.
Too bad the fried chicken sandwich was overdone and chewy. Also, the staff police the lineup on the sidewalk to make sure you're covered, rather unpleasant experience on a summer day.
Awesome little bakery and Cafe. We really enjoyed the coffee and latte, as well as scrumptious Sunday brunch.
The curry eggs are delicious and the Chai latte was on point. Super efficient staff! We barely had to wait. The patio is very open and sunny, totally loved it
I've come to Kingston twice in the last month, and I've made a point to come here twice. The food, staff. And ambiance are all excellent. Definitely one of the best breakfasts you can get in Kingston, no doubt about that. It's a must eat if you're in town!
Love this store and restaurant! Always stop here when we are in Kingston. The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful and friendly.
Lots of delicious options: breads, pastry, treats, coffee, food to go. A little bit crowded on weekends, it can be tricky to find a table of you want to eat there. There some tables on the upper floor if you want to have coffee or lunch there. Ask for a table by the window to enjoy the view to the waterfront. :)
Always have to stop here when in kingston.! Great food! Delicious croissants! Can't go wrong.!
Excellent breakfast at the terrace, fresh and exactly as homemade scones, cinnamon rolls and chocolate brioche, Compliments from France :)
Authentic breads and treats! Very best quality foods. Great visit.
I love coming on the weekends for a delicious breakfast. The food here literally warms my heart and fills my stomach. I wish there were more Places like this in Kingston. Also, the staff is amazing.
Creative, fresh, abundant selections. Friendly, helpful staff. Opens early so you can get fresh baked goods to take home for breakfast or brunch. Two thumbs up!
Amazing place to go eat they have a patio also the food is amazing especially the treats there all handmade.
This is such a cute spot ! Great food here and a decent amount of gluten free options if needed. Scones were delicious
Nice bakery in the front and sit down restaurant in the back. Food was priced well and tasted great. Staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely going back.
Excellent food, fresh ingredients and lots of surprises!
Really great bakery and deli. Regularly go for lunch. They have two soups made fresh each day, one meat based and one vegetarian, and they're pretty much always amazing. The dragon noodles are also phenomenal, I get mine with some fried tofu, fantastic!
Love this place. Great fresh breads. Geese and specialty items. Also relaxed ambiance for a morning coffee. Try to get here when in Kingston
BEST BREAD! LOVE THE PLACE!
I always love eating here. A bit pricey but everything is delicious, fresh, and there's always so much to choose from. I'm pretty sure they use all local ingredients as well?
Awesome treats and great sandwiches coffee great service too
It was a great breakfast. Definitely worth a visit. This place is going on my brunch list.
Cold food, bees everywhere, overpriced, took forever to be served. Our food was definitely sitting for at least 15 minutes before being served to us. Smoked salmon was frozen, and there was a hair in my food. The people who were seated after us and ordered the same thing got served before us.
Nice bakery and Café, they went upstairs to get me desserts I thought were sold out. Very courteous!
Lots of great food you can't find anywhere else.
I have friends from New York City who have a cottage north of Kingston. They love Pan Chancho breads, and make it a rule to get as much as they are able while here. They love the quality, variety and yes, sophistication of the baking. There are many fine bakeries in NYC, but Pan Chancho stands out as better.
Without a doubt my favorite breakfast in Kingston and probably anywhere. Brilliant bakery if you're looking to go or stay and enjoy a great meal. If you're in Kingston stop here for breakfast.
Kingston's best bakery IMHO. Amazing bread and desserts too. They also offer an impressive choice of fine cheeses. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Great bakery, less than desirable cafe.
Lemon currant roll. Just this. If you visit this place for nothing else - the cute Cafe or the interesting shop - just get this roll. I'm not a huge fan of those cinnamon roll type of pastries. They're usually bland and too sweet, but this one was chewy, juicy, and flavorful like none I've ever tasted. Two can probably share one of those babies.
Definitely a Kingston staple! The bakery has amazing bread and the breakfast/brunch is to die for. It is a small space, with lots of charm. The first few times I visited, I did not even realize that there was a sit down food section.
Incredible fresh food, this restaurant plays an active role in the community. Creative recipes and local ingredients.
No gaps/mistakes in service, despite being pretty busy. Friendly staff.
Excellent bakery! Everything we tried was yummy. Especially loved their maple butter tarts.
Good quality food served in a lovely cosy environment. We ate from the lunch menu - burger, vegetable tart, and noodle soup - all went down well. Getting a dessert from the bakery and eating it in the cafe was a highlight!
Fantastic food, charming atmosphere and attentive service. I really liked this place! A gem in Kingston for breakfast/brunch. The bakery/deli area has great treats too!
We loved the food there. Tastes great. Good service. Nice decor and large outdoor seating area. Only thing i wish could have been better was the portions. Just a tad on the smaller side. Then again I've got a big appetite.
Amazing coffee breakfast lunch and dinner. The weekender is my favorite dish for breakfast. You should also try the olive bread and an almond croissant. Great service I come here every time I am in Kingston.
Amazing bakery! Both sit down and take out are fantastic.
One of our go to brunch spots, not a large menu but always interesting options and bakery items
Great place for specialty foods/baked goods and an amazing cafe. They need an update to their menu as it's getting a bit tired and other new restaurants are surpassing them with more up to date fare.
Bakery from the far left... Not my thing to buy unwrapped bakery foods that are right out in the open, that customers and flies have complete access to... Customers can easily cough and sneeze on the food, pick the food up in their hands and contaminate in any way... I don't like to eat bacteria, so I don't buy from there.. No one ever says, good morning or good afternoon to you.. Maybe they got some prejudices, especially if the customer is one of those privileged White males, visiting a bakery from the far left.
Disappointed we couldn't do dine in due to restrictions. The El Chancho was goid but I would love to have more hash browns. I love the corn salad.
Love the open atmosphere here with such stellar clean and industrial touches. The service is wonderful, the bakery is amazing and sold throughout the city, and I would highly recommend their dining!
Delicious but pricy bakery. Lots of options, the usual line-up to get in tells a lot about the great breads.
Been here three times over the past couple years and it is always incredible. Worth the trip into town if you're just passing by Kingston.
They say this is the best place for brekkies or brunch in all of Canada and I can see why. Long lines yes but it's worth the wait. The fresh OJ is easily the best oranges ever and the pastries and macaroons which we bought over the counter as we waited were creamy and decadently delicious. The curry eggs were both unusual and eally well made and the French toast soaked in maple syrup and whipped cream was luscious and spiced just right with cinnamon and something else I couldn't quite place.
This is very much a boutique brunch/lunch place as well as a bakery. The interior has a busy but has a fun style. It can get a little crowded as space is limited indoors however the layout is nice as you can pick from a variety of freshly baked goods and other foods. Bear in mind that the shop is set up at a premium location for tourism and foot traffic. Needless to say you are paying for Quality here so prices are higher than regular. The coffee is fantastic. Smooth. However the brunch selection is limited and would say the proportions will leave you a little peckish afterwards.
Amazing place for brunch! Consistently great food and absolutely top notch service
Went here for breakfast with my family to the little cafe in the back. I don’t drink lactose and was able to get a latte made with oat milk which was delicious. I also had the blueberry pancake type thing which was delicious but was very filling. Everything on the menu looked delicious! Service was also great!
If you like coffee, chocolate and almond, their Opera Cake is to die for! Good cheeses, too.
Brunch was great, some of their deserts are a little on the sweet side... but great place!
Amazing experience. I ordered Benedict eggs with brioche and a latte, it was incredible. I also bought a sourdough bread and focaccia, both were delicious.
Good bread selection and a very nice sausage. The service is very slow and coffees are all mistaken. It is relatively pricey for what they offer. Despite a main ingredient missing from a dish we were not been informed or offered any alternatives in advance.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was very fresh and healthy. I will definitely be back
Best brunch in town! The food options are unique and delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and attentive. And the patio in the back is very beautiful and lively to have brunch on a sunny weekend in the summer.
Coconut Lime Date Square was delish!
Wonderful bakery and restaurant. Great brunch, coffee or just picking up a quick sandwich. Check out their cookbook, it's a classic.
Lovr this store, the freshest food ,the best chesses and the greatest staff
Fantastic service! Prices are a little high but VERY worth it. The food was delicious, it's been the highlight of our Kingston trip! Very highly recommended
Great bread, treats, local cheese and the cafe is splendid. Lots to keep you coming back.
Amazing little bakery and brunch restaurant, would strongly recommend their orange cheesecake and eclairs
In front, great but pricey bread and prepared foods. In the back a dandy restaurant with friendly, efficient service. Don't miss the lamb sandwich when it's on the menu.
I loved this place, breakfast was delicious! Staff were friendly! The kind of place I love to visit when in a new city.
Everything is amazing every time I come here ????
One of the best bakeries in Ontario. Get the lemon current rolls. Get anything really. The restaurant is also terrific. Good gluten free options. I'm sad they don't serve French toast like they used to. It was mind-blowing.
The breakfasts are amazing!!! You have to try it but be sure to make a reservation early so you don't have to wait 25 minutes at the door
I would highly recommend it to anyone. 5 stars all around.
Everytime the service and food is so excellent! Thank you thank you thank you! Great cozy atmosphere and the bakery/cafe is great to pick up stuff on the way out!
Good little lunch spot with freshly prepared meals. Eclectic menu with something for everyone. Reasonable prices. Can be busy.
A must stop fot anyone in the kingston area. The fresh bread is to die for, especially the large olive loafs. Eat in area is quaint and lovely. Highly recommend.
very good bakery, but prices are too high
The breakfast was unbelievably great. My wife and I had the weekender at the cafe. The croissant was soft and the egg was exceptional. The bacon jam was to die for and kept us wanting more. During our walks we also stopped by to get their creme brûlée and brownie cheesecake cup. If you’re in Kingston you have to visit this place.
An excellent spot for artisanal, high quality groceries and delicious baked goods. Their croissants are true to the traditional French style, and their sandwiches are fantastic as well. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I have purchased gourmet cheeses, pastries, and other goods at Pan Chancho, and have not been disappointed yet. I only wish they were open later for emergency evening baguettes!
Fantastic. This will be a "must stop in" place for me every time I'm in Kingston.
We have had several weekend lunches at Pan Chancho, always a great experience with delicious food and friendly service. Highly recommend the Celestial Pita for a flavourful vegetarian lunch !
wow! wonderful place it's been a while since I hate benedict eggs that good! Great service.
Perfectly executed meals, very creative beverages. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
Amazing selection of homemade food! I recommend the profiterol... Be advise it's super tasty :)
Excellent locally sourced cafe with a wide variety of unique dishes to suit any foodie!
This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Kingston and we always ensure that we make a stop whenever we are in town. It goes without saying that all of the baked goods are excellent but the croissants are especially amazing. It also has plenty of culinary related gifts and premade meals as well so it's almost impossible to come out empty handed. Highly recommended.
The profiterole is out of this world delicious! I think this might be the perfect bakery. They made the perfect chocolate chip cookie and my friends were raving about the cinnamon buns.
I waited upwards of an hour to be served after my food was ordered. The food quality was good but not spectacular. Beautiful outdoor seating and amazing drinks!
Amazing brunch options, with lots for vegetarians (as well as for meat eaters)
Came here for brunch and got their El Chancho. Potatoes were super crispy and perfectly seasoned. Over easy eggs were done perfectly. Bacon cooked to perfection. Chorizo was amazing, and I'm not normally a big fan of peameal bacon, but this was the best I've had. The savory brioche toast was great. The roasted corn salad I expected to be warm, but was served cold, and was still pretty good. The bacon jam was more like a paté, which I didn't expect, but was good. The tomato chutney was amazing, though. Their little deli/bakery up front also has some great stuff too you can get to go. Overall, an awesome breakfast with great service. If I'm in the area again I will definitely make it a point to stop in, and would highly recommend it.
Always wonder french style baking and food. The bread is certainly worth the high prices.
Always a great place for breakfast! Whenever I'm in Kingston, I try to make a stop here. Good variety of breakfast foods, but their lamb pita is also amazing so if you're here for lunch I'd suggest you try that! And don't forget to check out their bakery out front as well! Best cookies ever
Awesome fresh real food! No vegan options on the menu but they made great accommodation with no fuss. Amazing bread!
Bit pricey but good bakery. Other goods like cheese pasta soups and burger Patti's available in the freezer.
Went in to buy chocolate almond croissants and bread and they didn’t have any of the croisants. So i ordered them and the lady told me to come back 2 days later. so i drove back 2 days later, they had the bread but not the croissants..... i asked the young man at cashier why and he told me he didnt know, maybe they have personnel issues or something... and to take almond croissants instead.... so i was not satisfied with this and to top this, the cashier was arrogant and not courteous at all... not even sorry.... what i don’t understand is if they can make almond croissants, why not ad the chocolate as i ordered.... same motion... so for driving there twice for nothing, for not getting my order, for the arrogant cashier and the hefty pricy products not worth the service, i will not be returning!!! there i was trying to encourage local business.... oh well!!!
Not much selection or variety. Everything is behind glass or in the refrigerator. It's o.k. I guess, not a bistro. Just another post covid establishment that went downhill. Nothing to do with pork sandwiches for those that speak the language. Wouldn't go there again. Expen$$ive.
Always enjoy a visit here when I'm in Kingston! Never disappoints! Love the variety of breads too!
Great place to eat outdoors
Long wait but nice breakfast spot. Great bakery.
E V E R Y T H I N G is delicious!!!
We have had a couple unpleasant experiences at this cafe. Any group larger than 4 seems to be an inconvenience for then and will earn you a lecture from the hostess to not show up again with so many people, or bad service from the servers. If you are in a group of 4 or less it is ok: food quality is good but expensive.
Never let's us down. Out of this world food and service.
Delicious maple ???? butter tarts. Very different.
Food was good. I had the marinated feta with bread and hubby had the benedict. Both really good choices and I overheard other people raving about their wraps. Coffee was okay but I especially liked their hot chocolate. Very creamy, thick, and not sweet. Covid protocols are all in place. The patio was swarming with bees and got a little scary at one point so I just shared ny honey with them but one got greedy and caused him his life.
A Kingston must-visit. Everything is top notch and delicious. Don't miss the biscotti/ Also, Pan Chancho bakes the best gluten free bread of all time.
We love the gluten free pumpernickle loaf and lemon, current cinnamon buns. We visit Pan Chancho every time we visit Kingston.
Baked good and goodies never disappoint. Premade sandwiches and frozen savory pies made wonderful weekend meals. Cheese selection amazing. I love that you can order ahead of time to help cut down on waiting in line on the busy weekend.
I love the sandwiches, salads, breads, and desserts. Los of gluten free desserts to choose from. Just had the delicious raspberry mousse Charlotte - devine!
Very nice store layout and very welcoming. Friendly staff and generally a great place to visit for coffee and baked goods. Also sells a lot of other interesting things but stuck around just to pick up some breakfast to go.
Beautiful and cozy place. Food was tasty, pastries and desserts are delicious. Prices were not so low but affordable, the food is worth it. Good for breakfast.
Great patio! Staff kept everything nice and clean.
It's hussely, bussely and packed with action. This place is lovely with it's patio, vibe and their delicious sandwiches and deserts. It's the bakery to go to when your in downtown Kingston.
Although pricey it is well worth it. Picked up some shrimp, chicken and Dragon noodles perfect for a picnic while riding ferry to Wolfe Island.
Great food, staff, and atmosphere. Cute café at the back and outside patio, and lots of goodies to purchase at the front like cheeses, pastries and desserts!
Always fresh and top quality. Highly recommended.
We went to the Pan Chanco Cafe for brunch on a Saturday around 10 am. We did not have to wait long for a table for four despite not having a reservation. Our table was upstairs which has lovely exposed stone walls and large windows over looking the Market Square. The staff were exceptionally courteous and the food is amazing. I had the breakfast poutine and I would 10/10 order it again. Excellent choice for breakfast or brunch!
Best brunch ever. Excellent service. Over all just amazing.
Best bakery in town. Loved the carrot cake and pecan chocolate pie.
Fav spot for Saturday/Sunday morning. The early bird gets the home fries. We get there by 730 /8 to avoid the line up that inevitably comes. Staff are friendly and professional. Pssssst.... the coffee is best early as well. Oh and get the weekender!!!
Awesome spot with a bakery in the front, a small indoor seating area behind and a big patio in the back.
Amazing brunch! Great selection of baked goods as well.
Really good restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Almond croissant are yummy!!
Love this cafe and bakery in Kingston, whether it's for picking up a fresh loaf of bread, grabbing brunch, or savory and sweet treats to bring home. Have special ordered cakes and the selection will have something for everyone to enjoy.
The shop and restaurant will be on our places to visit when ever we are in the city! They easily accomodated our food allergies. Everything was delicious. We left with gluten free goodies from the bakery as well!
The place looked nice and there was a lot of selection. A little cafe in the back with a long wait line. The staff was friendly but my butter tart was definitely over baked and the cookies were dry.
This is a wonderful bakery with a wide range of desserts, breads and treats, to take-away or eat-in. Now that the weather is turning warmer, try out the patio in the back to enjoy your meal in the sunshine. I recommend the bread pudding, the croissants and cinnamon buns.
Amazing breads - tried both the olive rosemary and sourdough. Did not disappoint.
Great Staff, Great food, Great ambiance. This place has it all. Original creations, large servings and a fresh creative fusion, menu! But ... We were travelling with my elderly father in Law. This place even has a washroom for those with mobility issues, right in the main level. The regular bathrooms for men and women are downstairs. However, that made this place an even extra great place. Because we can bring the whole family! :) thanks again. Oh and they have great take home and devour items.
Stopped in here on a recent trip to Kingston. Lots to choose from. It was a little pricey, but tasted very good. I shared a scone and a chocolate croissant with my family. Drip coffee was OK. Better than my maxwells at home!
A delicious place to be. Great atmosphere, service an the food is delicious. And BREAD. .. amazing!!!
Awesome breakfast with options for both the vegetarian and meat lover. Fresh coffee and orange/grapefruit juice topped off the meal.
Bread was very good. ???? butter tarts were phenomenal. The pastry was very unusual and delicious.
Had a fantastic brunch at this place! We were lucky to grab a table so quickly in their patio (be prepared to queue) but was no disappointed! Great drink selection (teas, coffees and mimosas!). Difficult to pick just one thing off the menu! Make sure you get some cookies and cakes to takeaway too.
Excellent service, amazing food. So good we did it twice.
I've been so thankful to be able to order from the myriad of tasty offerings since covid. After 6 months finally got to enjoy brunch on the patio! It was the perfect covid experience. Greeter meets you at the side entrance (outside), takes your name and number and asks everyone to wear at mask when not seated. Simple, perfect, delicious!!!
Went for Friday lunch. Food was nice. Wait about 10 minutes to enter.
Went for a brunch Food was good Price is proportionate to its portion
A staple in downtown Kingston. The food is always excellent and they constantly evolve the menu with different twists and flairs. Simultaneously they run the bakery where you get gourmet goods, specifically the rosemary and olive sourdough bread, simply the best. The take away dishes from the pre-makes in the deli will beat any run of the mill take out elsewhere. Every time I am through Kingston I eat here, period. Seating is very limited so make sure you get a reservation as everyone seems to love going here too.
Great breakfast and coffee!
Second time here with the same server, unfortunately we did not get her name. Every staff member seemed very nice and helpful. Our server was very nice and friendly. Never an empty glass on the table. Food was delicious as always and the pastries to die for. Glad to see the service and quality has not changed in the few months since our last visit. Our go to breakfast spot in Kingston.
This is an eclectic restaurant who's chefs are both talented and creative. Today I popped in for a slice of the best Opera cake in Kingston and ended up with that as well as a couple of cranberry chocolate squares that I can't wait to devour. Should I eat my dessert before dinner? Hmmm.
Friendly staff, clean indoor and outdoor spaces, delicious food for eat in or take away
Wow wow wow..!!! Nust great all over. Outside sitting was amazing. Great setup. Service was excellent as soon as we entered. Multiple options for drinks and food. I got mimosa and eggs benedict. Nothing disappointed! Recommended!
Casual yet eclectic menu. Always delicious and well informed staff. The deli part is to die for and so hard to leave the restaurant without shopping in the store and taking something home. My go to place when I am wanting to bring someone something special to their home as a hostess gift.
The best place in Kingston to blow the textbooks portion of your tuition. The only organic chemistry I need is Pan Chancho's baguette and hummus.
First time in Kingston. Found this place online looking for breakfast. It is near our hotel. Everything was excellent! We are coffee snobs and the coffee was great! I had the Weekender and my wife had the Eggs Benedict with salmon. They were both done perfectly! We also perused the store looking at the varied and unique food items they stock. I went back the next morning to get coffee and croissants to bring back to our hotel room and treat my sleeping wife. It was one of the many things that made our first visit to Kingston memorable!
Best gluten free scones I've ever had! That is if there are any left - because they're so good :) . Thanks master bakers!
I was staying with my boyfriend at my Aunt's cottage on Wolfe Island for a couple days when she decided to take us here for some cottage groceries before she left us on our own which turned out to be such a treat! This bakery has a large variety of groceries convenient and tasty to anyone's tastes. We started by getting one of their fresh olive loaves though they had a wide selection including your typical types to sweet breads and unique savory breads. From there we grabbed some pate and a delicious maple white cheddar cheese that I snacked on and included in my sandwiches. We also took home one of their containers of sliced dark salami that I still crave back home in Miami! They had some prepared foods that looked tasty (like potato salad) but since I love to cook decided not to get. I did decide to get some of their smoked salmon that served me well for a tasty breakfast and they even gave me ice so that it would travel well. Lastly, we took a look into their dessert areas and ended up taking home a chocolate pecan pie, peanut butter chocolate tart, and lemon cream puffs-----the sweets were phenomenal! We left each with their extremely refreshing home made lemonade in hand, satisfied with our purchase. I would highly recommend popping your head in for a quick refreshment or bite to eat! Or if you're looking for quality things to take home and eat---its a must! IG: @KFitzEats
Awesome food at a reasonable price. All fresh farm to table products that I highly recommend.
Ordered through skip. Didn’t get any cutlery despite asking for it. Eating this really great food with my fingers ruined the experience.
Amazing sour dough!! This place gets super busy on weekends though
Delicious macaroons! lovely selections of desserts.
Nice patio. Menu has good variety. Decent coffee.
Very busy place for a good reason! Plan accordingly because I got there at 1pm on a Sunday and had to wait 30 minutes. It was totally worth it because the food was amazing. The bakery attached was cute and offered various goods. A lovely place to have lunch/brunch with friends. The staffs were friendly and too pushy.
I've had some great experiences with this place before so I'm honestly confused about my recent one. I bought some of their walnut oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and they were basically tooth breakers. It seemed like a combination of them being overbaked and relatively old. It was just disappointing given the higher price tag for a small package of cookies. I also bought their baileys chocolate chip cheesecake and I was surprised by how different it was from previous times I've been there. It was lumpy and all of the chocolate had sunk to the bottom into a big bunch. I'm truly not a picky person but when you're paying more for quality, it's very disappointing when you don't get it. I know Pan Chancho can do better, I must have gotten them on a bad day or something.
Good quality and we'll priced
Went for brunch. Good food but unfortunately it was a little bland - just a personal opinion.
Great local bakery. Good place for lunch or just to grab some bits and bobs for the house. Loved this place as a student, still love to visit when coming through Kingston. Would highly recommend.
Amazing food and baked items. Just delicious. But why do I get such an attitude sometimes when I go in there? It's not always bib today I felt like a cow in a herd not a customer. Why am I, the customer, saying thanks yet I hear no please and thanks on the other end. This isn't Pan Chancho only but as a business owner I make every effort to make sure my clients know how valuable they are to us. I didn't get that today sadly :(
Excellent food. This bakery/restaurant delivers great food every time. Service on restaurant side was good last time I visited.
The food generally was exquisite. On the food and knowledge of the wait staff I would have rated the restaurant a 5/5. The Earl Gray tea was second to none, and I am I am not someone that gets impressed with tea ever. However, my partner said there didn't seem to be very much hollandaise on her Benedict, and the place was slammed so she felt it was an oversight. She asked if she can get another tablespoon or two just to cover the second Benedict. They apologized and said absolutely. What they actually did is brought her a side dish of Hollandaise sauce and charged her $4 for it. This would make sense if there is a little bit of Hollandaise sauce over both pieces. It is reasonable to charge for a side dish. But they charged her to get the amount of hollandaise sauce she should have gotten in the first place, but what bothered us more is the waitress not saying "I am happy to bring you more there will be a $4 charge is that okay?". We would have agreed, it is just unprofessional not to make that clear before you bring the product. Our meal had about $9 worth of additional charges added on outside of the drinks and plate. We were in a rush so we just paid it and left.
Amazing bakery. Always fresh tasteful bread. Lots of to choose from!
Good breakfast type fare served on a backyard patio. The basic patio gets a lot of sun and wasps are everywhere.
I use to shop here all the time! But moved away.. but I still make the trip and shop a few times a year. Last purchase included this super cute mug ????
We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio. All of our meals were excellent and our waiter was exceptionally nice and friendly.
I've been going here for years and always make a point to stop in for brunch when I'm passing through - it never disappoints. My parents also love it! The El Chancho is my go-to, the bacon jam is to die for!
I ordered the Weekender croissant sandwich. It came with a delightful salsa and it was just fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. Coffee was topped up before I finished my cup each time. They even asked if I had all my belongings before we left! Will definitely return.
Great food, excellent service.
Excellent food, reasonably priced, great atmosphere. I can't wait to return.
Vegan burrito wrap was good not the best but good option
The sandwichs, spring rolls, etc are tasty! Must try in Kingston.
The food was pretty good. I got the hash. The chorizo was fantastic and so was the avocado sour cream. A bit too much egg for me but I'm not the biggest fan of eggs.
AMAZINGLY AMAZING!!! Everything I've ever tried here is TO DIE FOR!!! Add they put the cumin-spiced lamb pita back on the menu so THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR DOING THAT!!!!!!
Nasty staff. I drive for Uber, delivering orders to actual paying customers like you and I. They (especially the Asian woman and the white 40-50 something with glasses) treats me like second class trash, tell me to wait outside when it's raining, get upset and annoyed with me when I ask for an update on my order because its long past the pickup time. Absolutely terrible people who just make me feel like garbage, and I'll definitely never spend my hard earned money here. I have a hard enough time just delivering your order because of how ignorant and disrespectful they are to delivery drivers. Learn to treat people with a little common decency and respect, it goes a long way.
Great place to have breakfast in Kingston. Dutch baby is highly recommended.
My daughter and I really enjoyed Mothers Day brunch. Mamosa and food was divine!!!
Likable place delicious cakes cookies and cream roll cheesecakes yumm yumm yumm yummy ????
Local icon so of course is very popular. The bakery has great fresh bread and pastries. Price on the high side but it reflects the quality. The restraint at peak times such as weekend breakfast and brunch gets very busy but it's worth the wait. The menu for breakfast and brunch is extremely inventive with a lot of original items which are prepared very quickly and extremely tasty. Vegetarian options. Although it's busy, there is ample space without feeling cramped and it's staff attentive. In the summer there's a great enclosed patio at the back which expands the space and is extremely pleasant to be on.
Lots of seating and their patio is really nice. Good selection of pastries and small dishes for sharing. The desserts are great. Good family setting. Can get quite busy, so go during the off-hours.
You can go wrong with Panchancho. Everything is delicious. If you try to be gluten free, they even have some amazing breads and deserts for you, too!
Rude greetings. Very unhelpful and flippant staff. Descriminates against the disabled. Won't be returning - learn some manners.
Was in a Jame trying to find a gluten free cake on a Monday morning. Called pan chancho and about a half hour later I was driving home with a delicious passion fruit mousse cake. Pan Chancho saves the day! Thank you!!
I love going to Pan Chancho Bakery & Cafe! I've often traveled over the past 20-25 years from Toronto to Kingston on day trips. Superb coffee, really great menu. Service always very warm & enjoyable. I usually go for breakfast there. Baked goods, pies, are mouth-watering. The pastries and breads are delicious!
Great lil brunch place in Kingston. Would definitely come back here again. Also, the bacon jam is epic.
Great place for breakfast or brunch; best Eggs Benedict in town. Friendly and attentive service always.
Friendly staff, and fresh daily baked treats. What's not to love?
The place has great food and great service. Their baking is to die for and their food is really good too. The only small downside is the space is a little small, but that can be forgiven as they do the best they can to make it work.
Sept 2021 - Came back during the morning for Sunday breakfast. I love their Curry Eggs 10/10 would recommend to try. This visits was with my family. It was a fantastic time. Everyone was safe and followed all covid guidelines. Hoping to come back later this fall. June 2021 - Went here with my wife, brother-in-law, and his GF. Great place for bunch. Wide selection with a creative take on food. Would recommend. Looking forward in going again.
Incredible bakery and restaurant, the passion clearly shows in all they do. I recently went in for a visit on a Wednesday and was fortunate to purchase their amazing Gluten Free Blueberry Lemon Scones, without question the best GF scones I have tried anywhere. The breakfast on the patio are an awesome experience, so relaxing. I loved to scones so much I emailed the store to see if I could order a dozen, Bernice responded promptly and was so kind assisting me. Keep up the exceptional work and products.
I find this place a little overpriced, but what they do offer is really nice. Little bakery/deli downstairs but mostly restaurant. Great patio and lots of interesting menu options (of more than one cuisine).
Overall a great experience. The service was quick, the food was full of flavour and it was evident that a lot of precautions were being taken around COVID. Great experience all around!
I have never had a disappointing experience here. In house dining is exceptional - back yard bbq events are always lovely - and lots of locally sourced and in house made goodies for purchase. Solid staple of the downtown core.
This was our big splurge for Christmas. Food was really good. Would love to see more vegan options.
The place at frist glance is cozy , they had good coffee but it was cold, the main issue was slow service for bringing food and drinks, other than that one person in our group ordered croissant with egg and they brought toast and said we ran out of it without asking if she is still interested or not. However; their sussage was really flavorful and good and they had some bacon jam which i really enjoyed.
Very nice restaurant with a homey feel and some nice views of town. The food was well seasoned and not too standard, i.e. a bit creative which is always nice for a brunch place! Enjoyed it a lot. The service was great.
Great bakery with a cafe in the back
A gem of a bakery with prepared meals, local preserves, fun kitchen knick-knacks and of course plenty of freshly baked goods. Support small business & shop here!
Rosemary, Olive Loaf ????????
Amazing sit-in service and amazing take-away. It is so hard to go here and pick only one thing! They have nice baked goods to go and I love that they serve Multutali coffee!
Great spot! Family brunch - 3 ordered off the breakfast and 1 off the lunch menu (2 the salmon dish which is shown in a photo, one eggs benedict and the other mussels and fries). We were all very happy with our yummy meals. For dessert we ordered the seasonal almond frangipane, the profiterole and the framboise chocolate dish from the bakery and we were equally as satisfied with these sweet treats!
I'm a big brunch fan and this place was alriight. I had the eggs Benedict with wild smoke salmon. The food was fresh but lacked a little bit of taste. I bad to add salt and some tobasco sauce. Service was good and fast.

Excellent breakfast!
This bakery reminds me of ones in Quebec City, quaint with good coffee and amazing pastries. I went there for breakfast both days I was in Kingston, having a plain croissant the first day and a cheddar croissant the second day. Both were quite tasty, their bread and pan au chocolate are also fantastic.
Beautiful patio. Great service. Incredible meals.
Amazing place for breakfast or brunch. If the weather is nice sit outside. Definitely try their pastry
This place has amazing food! We went there for a late breakfast and had a bit of a wait because it's so popular. I got the Dutch Baby (20 minutes extra wait) and my boyfriend got the El Chancho. Both were amazing! My only critique was I wish my Dutch Baby had a bit more lemon thyme flavour, either more butter, or mixed into the batter. The fresh squeezed orange juice really tasted fresh squeezed! The service was quick and friendly and lots of staff around to keep up with the crowd. We also got some items "for the road" and as good as the cookies and cheese scone was, the real winner was the loaf of bread we got. Super chewy, moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
Unfortunately i didn’t even get to try the food, because after being ignored by the host for about 10 min i left. Awful customer service could not even acknowledge my presence by simply saying something like “i’ll be with you in a moment” i am a server/host myself and i simply dumbfounded.
Cute place with two floors for the cafe. Amazingly delicious food and good service!
Our trio ate lunch outdoors. The service was above and beyond. Our server was so lovely. The food and beverage were incredible! We left with baked goods that were amazing. A win for sure! We'll be back and I'll daydream about it until we do.
Seems to be a must stop place in Kingston. The building is beautiful and all that we bought was delicious.
Delicious brunch. Bakery to go and salad counter for lunch on the run also a reliable and tasty option. Diverse selection, can cater to numerous dietary preferences and needs. Pleasant staff (many who stay for years! ) Just make sure you reserve if your set on a busy time to eat and be sure you can wait a wee bit. Well worth it!
Great food. Good portions. All day breakfast is delicious. The staff is very friendly.
Breakfast is always great here and I especially love The Weekender. The bakery is also full of delicious choices. I often find myself having a bite or 2 while still in the car before I even get home! Always a great experience in all the years I have been coming here.
Food was delicious. Service with a smile. They offer gluten free options
Amazing smoked salmon sandwich. Very accommodating to food allergies!
Best bakery in Kingston. Amazing food, bread and baked goods.
Fantastic, flavourful food. Almost everything is made in-house with locally sourced ingredients, and you can taste the difference in quality and freshness. The menu is also varied enough to come back multiple times, and includes a good mix of breakfast and lunch dishes.
My wife and I decided to purchase our wedding cake from here after sampling 5-6 other cakes in town. We loved it, and so did our guests. Cake had a fantastic texture, cream cheese icing was just right, and the lovely flowers on the large cake looked fantastic. Now we just need an excuse to buy another!!
Travel all the way from Toronto just for their salami because it is the best I've ever had! Their fresh baked buns are delicious and their desert items are amazing! I would highly recommend trying out this story if you haven't yet, and once you do I'm sure you'll love it too! The town is also a great place to go for a day trip and walk around.
As per my previous review, i was very disapointed in how things were done when picking up an order where things were missing and the attitude of the cashier then. However, i received a call from the owner or manager (not sure) Bernice, apologizing about the errors that were made and that she regreted not being there when it happened. She offered to deliver to my house the missing items that were made fresh which she did and in the package, there was also a gift certificate for their location or Chez Piggy (which i assume they also own and which is a phenomenal restaurant). So i was really very impressed about the service she provided and that basically, with how things happened in the first place and the attitude of the cashier about it, i have NO DOUBT that they have or will get briefed and geared in the right direction to avoid any same type mishap! I’m glad of how things worked out because in the end, as everybody knows in Kingston, Pan Chancho is very popular and well liked and the products they have are so good! Thank you Bernice!
I will not be returning to Pan Chancho again. I have little to nothing bad to say about the food, it was good, perfectly serviceable. 2 times I have been into Pan Chancho and 3 times I have been bodily shoved, grabbed, and manhandled by rude customers... I went during COVID! The workers are doing their best behind counters and shield glass and even stepping forward to meet people. But customers where not directed, they were not social distancing, and as mentioned above even GRABBING ME! An elderly person grabbed my arm in order to make me step aside and social distance so that they could get my spot in line. As I was reading the cheeses I had another customer shove past me sending me forward into the cheese rack. Than that rude customer had the audacity to glare at me, and not even apologize. I left the place with my food, my heart pounding in my chest, there was no social distancing and the bodily shoving and grabbing had me panicked by the time I left. The lunch was not worth the wholly unpleasant experience of being in their store. I recommend going somewhere else for your lunch, their food is not worth being shoved out of the way for. Also if you go there and and you push, shove, and grab people... reflect on yourself, and how your actions effect other people. Are you really being the kind of neighbor that Mister Rogers thought you could be? We are getting through this Pandemic together and your actions are not helping anyone out but yourself. TLDR; I was shoved, grabbed, and pushed by customers, there is little to no social distancing between customers for COVID, and I will not be returning. The staff is apathetic to this happening around them at best.
Great bakery and breakfast spot. Eggs with unique sauces and jams accompanied by their own fresh baked goods. How can you go wrong.
Had a great sandwich called the Weekender! Throughly enjoyed it and the fresh baked croissant that it came on. Will definitely go again some time.
Good "trendy" food.
The best cheese croissant ever! Made my mornings
Ordered a cake over the phone. Thank you so much Jessica for being a great help. Keep up the good job. From Steffi
Great products but a bit overpriced for a Spanish person. However I absolutely love the bread and apple tart.
We had a nice brunch here with good food and service. The shop side had a lot to offer too. However the restaurant accessibility is an issue. To sit in a quieter area for better conversation we had to climb stairs to the second floor, difficult for one member of our party. Then we found that the washrooms are all the way down in the basement. If stairs don't matter then this is a nice spot to eat.
Delicious baking and healthy choices...
Delicious artisanal breads, reasonable prices, and friendly staff! Great place to grab snack and a coffee before a stroll by the water.
Great desserts.
Best bread/baked goods in town - maybe even in all Ontario! Excellent cheese selection and ready (to go) food items.
My favourite bakery in Kingston. I specifically travel to Kingston just to pick up food from here
Lovely staff, good food and comfortable patio
We just went into the shop, but our croissants were just,meh.... Not sure what the hype is about.
We eat here every single time we go to Kingston. We usually try to buy something from the bakery to take home. All the staff is excellent with the sole exception of the woman who rings out at the bakery. She never smiles and is not friendly. Would be 5 stars without her
Some of the best brunch anywhere! I wait all year for my trip to Kingston and this is always one of my first stops on arrival. The new grilled apple pancake with cheese and apple butter is truly exquisite.
Incredible place. The desserts, sandwiches, and restaurant section was all scrumptious. Would come here again for brunch.
Great bakery for sweets and savory to take away or you can dine in their cafe. We did both!
I could live in this store !!! I love to see that the exclusive retail shops still have a special place in this "big-box" mega-giant store world that we live in !! The same old cheap brand-name common stuff that everybody buys and has !! I love the "different" and "exclusive" items myself !!
Absolutely wonderful, likely the best brunch spot in Kingston. Friendly staff, delicious fresh-baked food, and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend going here.
I have had breakfast, lunch and takeout from Pan Chancho and it is always delicious! They offer a variety of breads, cheeses, meats, warm and cold beverages and treats. During the warmer months they have a lovely patio and indoor seating while in the colder months they offer indoor seating. When dining I noticed the reusable napkins and care packages they offer which I found to be smart, innovative and thoughtful. Finally the staff are friendly and the prices are good for downtown eating and the quality of food and beverage. Definitely a place to stop by when visiting Kingston!
A beautiful shop and café! Whether you’re looking for a spot for breakfast or lunch or wanting to take home delicious treats I can highly recommend. Most recently we had Pan Chancho cater our daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner party and everything was outstanding! Our guests loved the food so much and Bernice was a pleasure to work with. She made everything easy, knew just how much was enough and had perfect suggestions. So good!
Snow day. Staff eager to help. Got some great advice on the wine they had
Always amazing day in and day out. Friendly staff as well. To-go or dine-in, can’t go wrong.
The breakfast was very good, nice place to buy bakery.
Pan Chancho is my go to brunch spot. Attached to the bakery is a restaurant that has a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options that are all amazing! Normally on weekend mornings it can get a little bit busy so I would recommend making a reservation, or be willing to put your name down. In the summer you can walk a block and go explore the farmers market, or the antique market on weekends while you wait! That being said the staff go out of their way to make wait lines short, and the restaurant is actually pretty big with patio space in the summer, and an upstairs dining area. I would recommend the French Toast if you are looking for a sweet breakfast, or the El Chancho for savory. They also normally have an amazing soup of the day that you can get in the store as well. Definitely a great place to hit up while in Kingston!
This cafe has never disappointed me! One time I ordered the wrong item off them menu and was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Great brunch spot, lovely atmosphere, perfect place to take your mom out to lunch or your girlfriend to breakfast ;)
Had lunch there on a previous visit it was fantastic. My wife had the stuffed French toast which she found fantastic. I had a sandwich which was also fantastic. On our next visit we did some takeout of a chicken breast and some salads plus some pastry which was also really tasty. Would recommend this highly
We phoned in a take out order this morning and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes (it was for smoothies...ok you're busy). We arrive at the 20 minute mark and attempt to pick up our order and are told to stand in line (there are 20+ people in line waiting to eat in the restaurant, shop in the bakery or perhaps other people who were expecting takeout in a timely manner). Now we've had to pay for parking and attempt to keep 3 kids entertained. Another 20 minutes go by and we're no closer to our smoothies so we leave. An hour later the restaurant calls to see if we're coming to pick them up...Obviously, we're not, you've wasted enough of our time and we're not coming to stand in line yet again only to receive poor treatment. I've worked in customer service for my entire career so I am fully aware that the customer is NOT always right, but I'm a firm believer in exceeding expectations and making my customers feel like they matter. I offered the person on the phone some customer service suggestions so a situation like this might be avoided in the future: a)perhaps a separate line for takeout orders b)perhaps a mobile payment terminal for takeout (keeping takeout customers out of an already overcrowded space--I've seen them in use on your patio) c)or even just stronger communication that you aren't really set up to manage takeout at this time. Additionally, it appears the restaurant does not appreciate takeout orders but given the current upswing of COVID cases I don't feel comfortable dining in or on their patio due to the lack of social distancing in their lines. If we go into another lockdown, local customers and takeout might be the only thing left. On a positive note the food and the smoothies are delightful if you have time available to waste.
We came here for breakfast and lunch, the selection was varied and the food delicious. I have not had the pastries yet, but they certainly look good.
Delicious and fresh food. Friendly stuff and clean environment close to the water. Will be back again foe sure.
If you’re looking to stop for an enjoyable lunch in Kingston, this is not the place to go. Really wanted to like this place and the interior is charming but the food is mediocre, both in the cafe and take away. Extremely overpriced gourmet food selection and the staff seem overworked and unfriendly.
Had breakfast and also.tried the bakery... Really great! Service was quick. Food was good; I had the eggs Benny. Big patio, lots of room, and tables were decently spaced. They have all day breakfast!!! No complaints. Will return several times while I'm in town.
We had a fantastic brunch here!! I wanted breakfast and my husband wanted lunch and their menu provided delicious options for both. I ordered a mimosa and was pleasantly surprised to be served my own tiny bottle of bubbles to mix with the freshly squeezed OJ! My blueberry french toast was incredible...nice thick bread that was perfectly cooked and topped with fresh cream. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely visit next time we are in Kingston!
It was great. Good food to buy and the cafe was top notch service and fare. Will be going again
Delicious food in a relaxing atmosphere!
I always get their cookies and they hit the spot! My housemate gets their bread and they are super fresh!
Fantastic food selection to eat in or take away. Only downside is the tables aren't private if it's busy. Been twice and would go back.
I've been there a few times and have always had great service and delicious food! Plenty of unique combos and dishes that do not dissapoint. Their bakery is always amazing as well. Terrific bread and cakes. We just got a frozen tourtiere and it turned into one of the best dinners I've had in a long time. Great local business, looking forward to trying more items.
So, we came here for lunch and they charge us for things we did not order. Worst customer experience on Kingston.
Wide variety of gluten free food. Great gluten free bread. Great gluten free cookies huge breakfast waiting staff is great overall great experience and plan on going again next time we're in Kingston. Ps try the bacon jam you wont regret it
Went for a dinner event.. Perfect service. Ideal location in downtown. The dinner hall also very well kept. Did not like the salmon but the steak was good. Dessert was good too. Should try the biscotti
OMG. Just had a brief breakfast. SOOO GOOOOD. Had the Eggs Benedict. Heaven on a plate. Then..after eating all deliciousness, we went to the bakery. I bought so many delectable things. Bread, rolls, Soup, Sweets.
Awesome place! Highly recommend the eggs Benny. The bacon jam was really good to!
This shop has the best summer sausage and selection of breads, mustards and delicious treats.
I second some of the recent negative reviews. Absolutely useless and flippant staff. Sure there are like 2 cases of covid in kingston but that doest mean you have to treat your customers like a piece of meat. We had a 20 month old waiting in line to inside. Once inside we got our stuff and only to be told that if you want to sit on patio you have to order at the patio!! Why om earth would you make people wait in line get our stuff only to be told this at the cash? And over priced bland coffee baked good to boot. I wonder who they paid to manage their "reviews"!
Lovely little place! Will definitely return the next time I go to Kingston.
Very nice lemon blueberries loaf.....
I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff, the service and especially the experience and interactions I had with Bernice. I had a very specific and unusual situation and my request went against their normal policy, but Bernice accommodated my request with absolutely no questions asked and with perfect customer service that went above and beyond expectations. I have always loved Pan Chancho and now love it even more! I wish I could give them a million star rating!
Very nice place and beautiful patio. Food is great
4.5 would be the actual recommendation, as one can never expect anything to be perfect. Had the benny but replaced the peameal with the smoked salmon, which was excellent. The coffee was enjoyable as well. Nice to have the outdoor patio to be in with the changing fall weather.
Great service and tasty food. Nice patio out back. What more can you ask for?
Great place Great food, just go!!
Had breakfast on the patio, pricey breakfast and the area smelled of hot dumpster... This place came well recommended but we honestly wouldn't recommend it.
Great staff great food
Fantastic breakfast. The cinnamon roles are to die for! The breakfast wrap was also very good.
Excellent i highly recommend this very quaint Bakery
Fantastic food, though it took us ages to decide what to get because everything looked so good. The service was a real treat though, genuinely friendly and attentive without crowding us. Will definitely return. Patio is lovely, nice birds to look at
Just returned from a few days in Kingston. Found this gem of a restaurant / bakery on day one and returned every day for an amazing breakfast. Very unique menu. Tons of healthy choices and beautiful little patio out back. Special thanks to Emily, who served us every time we were there! She's in at 5am getting things ready for you!
Our Kingston friends sent us chocolate shortbread cookies bought from this store, and they are something to die for ???????? Highly recommend!
First and probably my last review. Made me feel like a second rate citizen. Told my wait would be 15 minutes. No problem. I figured that. 15 minutes later my kids and grand baby show up. I ask how much longer. 25 minutes more because they gave all the larger tables to those that came after me. Don’t know if it was my work cloths or rough appearance. But definitely wasn’t feeling the love from Pan Chancho bakery. Will never go back.
Horrible service. I came on August 13, 2017 in the afternoon and went to the cash to buy a couple of things but the cashier served someone else first, even though I told her that I was there first. Even the customer she's ringing in told her she can wait as she saw that I was there first. But the cashier told me to "wait" anyway in spite of this. I got so angry I left the stuff I was going to buy on the counter and left. I regret not asking to speak to the manager at the time because I was so angry (didn't want to cause a scene). I couldn't help but think that the cashier's just plain stupid, or rude, or at worst, racist! Horrible customer service. I went to Star Buck nearby instead and am telling everyone I know about this experience.
They ruined my wedding cake, and didn’t even deliver to our venue as confirmed. Thankfully my amazing florist noticed when she was going to put flowers on it, and picked up the cake a few minutes before they closed. They never even bothered to contact us, to say “what’s going on?”. When she brought it to our venue and we saw it, it not only was so ugly, it was not what we had asked for, as we had sent them photos of what it was supposed to look like, and had confirmed the delivery time twice. Such an awful experience, for a great day.
Love this bakery! Beautiful inside and lots of baked goods and treats to choose from. The food offered in the cafe is excellent as well!
Good atmosphere. Ordered the burger and really enjoyed it. The fries were good too.
The weekender, breakfast wrapped up, and sweet potato hash are some of the best dishes for breakfast I have eaten. They are a little pricey but a great place for parents, students and all types of food. Would recommend 10/10
Love love love the chocolate croissant over here, definitely try out their cakes as well. It's usually packed from brunch to closing, been there about twice and always had to pack my pastries to go as it was packed. Always a go-to when i'm down town!
Great bakery! The savoury brioche are my favorite. There are loads of breads and pastries available and the staff are fantastic. There are sit down and grab and go meal options available. Easily one of my favourite bakeries in the country.
The brunch selection is amazing and the food is delicious. Only suggestion is going early on weekends to avoid the crazy lines.
The Breakfast is amazing. The weekender is a great way to start a Sunday before a walk downtown. The staff is friendly and though searing is limited in the winter, if there is a wait it is worth it!
The food is excellent, gbe bread is fresh, and the cheese is out of this world! I have visited for brunch many times and have found the staff to be excellent. I do not recommend sitting by the kitchen door because you often find management screaming at staff (which is very unprofessional).
Terrible service, 15 min wait for a cappuccino in an empty store... So overpriced
A Kingston classic that never disappoints.
I've never actually been here but Google won't stop asking me to review you because you are beside my parking lot. But your food has always looked good and people seem to like you so Yay! 5 stars.
Would not reccommend!
The best in town for sure! Put that on my momma
Very good very fresh
Honestly sourdough has a whole new meaning for me. I came in today and a nice girl made conversation with me until I could go in. Got my sourdough loaf and the cashier was absolutely lovely while serving me. Got home and I've eaten almost half of it by myself. Never getting grocery store bread again.
Excellent food and service.
Bernice and her team were so organized, responsive and on top of all the details for our event. Delivery and pick up time was spot on. They didn't miss a beat which enabled our event to run smoothly. The food was fabulous and the layout gorgeous. Thank you. I highly recommend and would use again!
Awesome bakery and restaurant. Burger was delicious as were the samosas with cilantro.
Excellent bakery, but more expensive than similar quality in Ottawa or Montreal.
So, I don't give a lot of 5 Star reviews but this place gets one. This is a great little Boutique Bakery. I always go in for sweets today I got coconut bread pudding FYI. But, they've got great Savory items meals to go during the week super cool gifts awesome olive oils and cool vinegars and all sorts of great little stuff that's hard to find. So if you love delicious baked goods, and I do, or you're just in a cool little gifts or some great kit for your kitchen this is an awesome little shop. Plus the people are always cool and nice I feel hipper just walking in the door. Have at it.
Very good
Best breakfast ever!! The bacon jam, to die for!!!
Online gift cards can only be used for online purchases... which is annoying. Baked goods are decent but overpriced. Frozen foods (I. E. Chicken pie) are excellent, but once again overpriced.
Cupcakes were so delicate and tasty, sour dough was very crispy
Returned to eat here after a long absence and our meals were great. Also, prices are really good given the quality of food that is being served.
This place is the BEST for breakfast. Eggs Benny are fantastic. Staff are very sweet and welcoming. A must try!!!!
Can only share experience with takeaway baked goods. Amazing! Sorry no pictures as they were eaten too fast. Savoury brioche, cheddar scone, cinnamon lemon roll, pain au chocolat, and banana muffin. All great
Maybe it's a good thing not living in Kingston;-). This place is totally addictive and take every available opportunity to visit.
One of my favourite places to stop on the way to Ottawa/Montreal! The bakery items are always a crowd pleaser, and the customer service is amazing.
Great food, fun atmosphere and friendly service
Pretty great food, went in as a group of 4 and we all were extremely satisfied with both the quality of food and the service of friendly staff. It was rather nice receiving our food all at the same time which many sit down restaurants sometimes fail at. It is high quality food at a reasonable price for the quality. Also if you are a avid coffee drinker I would highly recommend stopping here for a cup of their brew, it is one of my favorite coffees by far in the Kingston area, brewed to perfection! Thanks for a fantastic meal Pan Chancho!
